And right now, I get to share that timeless tale

about how Disney brings us together

and spreads that joy to all the parks

and right into our homes.

It's called...

The Wonderful World of Disney Holiday Spectacular.

"Once upon a time..." Oh, that's a good start.

"There was a boy named Walt Disney

"who made dreams come to life, especially during the holidays."

I know what you're wondering. How?

Well, don't worry. There's a poem for that.

Twas the eve of the season And all through the park

Not a creature was stirring, But there was one bright spark

Our friend Mickey Mouse, With a hat and a smile

Started decking out Disney With holiday style

The park looked fantastic, But wasn't quite done

It needed Some musical, magical fun

The task was not easy And everyone knew it

So some friends arrived To help Mickey do it

They sparkled and twirled,

Making holiday cheer

Transforming the park As the season drew near

The tree lights were dazzling, But still not enough

What did they need? Their friend, Derek Hough

What's up, Mickey?

It's the holidays again, and I'm here to help.

Everything looks so wonderful. Please, do come this way.

Hey, Mickey, you ready to do this?

I am so glad to be back here at Walt Disney World.

Mickey, I promise

we're gonna make this holiday season

the best ever.

I want everybody who walks in that Disney park

to light up brighter than that tree right over there.

We need decorations, gifts, treats, music, stars

on the trees and on this stage.

We need holiday magic all over the parks.

We gotta bring that magic to life.

This is gonna be absolutely unforgettable.

So, bring it in, guys. Bring it in. All right?

No one does holidays like Disney Parks.

From the lights on Main Street USA

to the delicious gingerbread, to the towering Christmas trees,

every sight, sound and taste fills our hearts with delight.

I know nothing is better than the look on my kids' faces

when they catch a glimpse of Disney holiday magic.

So how do we bring more joy

to a place that's already so magical?

Don't worry.

Our holiday helper, Derek Hough, is a triple threat.

He can sing, he can dance, he can wrap presents.

Did I mention he can dance?

There's an entire storybook full of superstar artists

Disney World is so special

because everybody gets to be a kid again.

It's about all of the fun and the magic of Disney World.

It is just beautiful.

You can't walk into this place and not smile.

Disneyland is always special.

I don't even care what time of year.

It never gets old. It's always exciting.

But the holidays,

it just feels somehow like a next level of magic

and beauty and perfection.

So, like I said, any time of the year,

I'm a Disney girl.

Well, when I was a little girl, my dad bought this watch.

It's a Mickey Mouse,

and I wear it every now and again.

It's my special watch.

That's an interesting question coming from you, Donald.

My favorite Christmas memory is Scrooge McDuck, actually,

from The Christmas Carol.

I remember watching The Santa Clause

with my mother for the first time,

and it's one of my favorite Christmas movies ever.

Well, Donald,

my favorite Christmas memory kind of involves you.

Well, more your uncle.

One of my favorite movies, every Christmas.

Well, Donald, I actually do have

a favorite Disney Christmas memory featuring Daisy.

I was obsessed with her, loved her outfits,

and I got a great Daisy Christmas ornament

-that I put on my tree.

Ah.

This season is about bringing family

and friends and even beloved pets together.

And one incredible U.S.

Navy veteran turned his connection

with his service animal into a way to give back

to so many more.

Let's meet Joe Worley and his family.

I am Joe Worley. I'm here with Mr. Scotty

and I work with America's Vet Dogs

as a Veterans Relations Liaison

and I am a retired

Navy Hospital Corpsman, third class.

I deployed to Fallujah, Iraq in 2004

and in September we were on the road

and we pulled out on an overpass

and the first vehicle was hit with a roadside bomb.

My job as a corpsman is to run to where people need me

and so I jumped out of my vehicle and I was hit

with an improvised explosive device.

Some guy calls me and I literally just sank

to the floor and handed Abby to my older sister

and I was like, I think I just cried a lot.

My left leg was very, very badly hurt.

As I reached in my cargo pocket to pull out

my tourniquet, I felt a little pin

that my wife had sent me.

My daughter, Abby, was three months old.

I'd not even met her yet.

But just touching it was enough to get me moving.

Man.

So glad.

I'm an above-knee amputee.

And in 2008, when I got my dog, Benjamin,

from America's Vet Dogs,

that sort of opened things back up for me.

I think it was life changing for him.

Benjamin was so playful.

He got him up and to doing things.

Benjamin played a huge part

in me building my confidence back up.

I remember being on the back porch

and he was running around in the yard

with the kids and it didn't feel like

he was doing something I couldn't do.

He felt to me like he was doing something

as an extension of myself.

I am proud to represent America's Vet Dogs

and the Guide Dog Foundation.

America's Vet Dogs trains dogs for veterans,

and we don't charge anything.

So, my job became to help raise some of that money.

That role has been very fulfilling.

I want to share my story with people

who may not realize that things can not

just be better, things can be great.

My wife and I have always wanted to adopt.

So, after having two daughters, Abby and Izzy,

we decided to adopt a beautiful little baby boy.

His name is Luther, and he's 13 now,

and we got him the day he was born.

And then they called, and they said,

we have a little red-headed baby boy.

He's three days old.

And I was like, give me the baby.

And that right there was how we got Braden.

He was just made for our family.

We're about to sit down for family movie night,

and Joe has no idea.

But Disney Parks has invited us to Walt Disney World,

and Scotty is going to be delivering the news.

What is-- Oh, my God. What are you doing, dude?

Okay, Scotty, sit.

Open it.

"Dear, Joe, as a U.S. Navy corpsman,

"because of your advocacy and enduring support

"of those who have served our country in uniform,

"Disney Parks would like to invite you,

"your family, and Scotty to be our guests

"at Walt Disney World and celebrate the holidays."

-Holy cow.

I feel honored and I'm humbled

and, you know, this is gonna be absolutely incredible.

And it's really cool to be there on Veterans Week

because it gives me an opportunity

to spend some quality time on a really important week

with my family.

We're going to Walt Disney World!

That flag ceremony to me was absolutely humbling.

I found myself getting a little more emotional

than I expected to get.

And it was just the craziest, wonderful moment.

And it happened here at Disney.

-was Scotty's favorite. - It was his favorite.

He did look like he was enjoying that.

My favorite ride was Tower of Terror

because I had no idea what to expect.

This is the best day of my life.

Hi-ho!

I've been to other parks

where I wasn't able to ride anything,

and I was able to ride anything I wanted to.

This is the place to be.

Being with our whole family

at Disney World, it was very magical.

- I will never forget this. - Yeah.

That's the real magic of Disney,

making dreams come true for families

and all the people and animals that we love.

I have so many memories here.

Went to school here, lived here for ten years.

And I absolutely loved the city during the holidays.

And let's not forget, it's home to one of my favorite films

to the greatest man to ever do it.

to celebrate the holidays is in Sydney, Australia,

where my wife's family is from.

And it's always a fun time because the sun is shining,

and we have a barbecue,

and sometimes we go to the beach.

My favorite place in the whole world?

That's tough. But if I had to say anything,

I would say my childhood home where I was raised

in Nashville, Tennessee.

My favorite place in the world to celebrate the holidays

is probably Atlanta because that's where I'm from,

but specifically when it's snowing outside,

which can be rare in Atlanta.

Gotta be Nashville, right?

-Yeah. -Home, for sure.

-Yeah. -With the kiddos, for sure.

Absolutely, all nine of them.

My favorite place to celebrate the holidays is

at Disney World with you.

all the presents. So, that's a major tradition.

My favorite holiday tradition is wrapping the gifts myself,

because I take so much pride

in those perfect corners and edges.

I love-- We do family dinner.

We get all of our-- Our whole family together.

And that's like my favorite kind of moment

-of the whole year. -Mm-hmm.

One of my favorite Christmas traditions

is playing games with my family on Christmas Day.

We love to play games all day and all night long.

We eat, play games, eat, play games, eat,

sleep, then play games,

-and eat some more.
