your husband had quit drinking for nine

years he drove over to Wickenburg every

Friday night for the AAA meetings he

died on Friday on the way they around

the way back on the way back sheriff

failure talked to some of the other Club

members and they said he was there and

he was doing fine so he supposedly left

a meeting went straight to a liquor

store got drunk that pile his pickup

truck I know a guardrail to a90

alcoholism is a really strange disease

apparently Rob story is not all that

uncommon ray Elliott what's his story

he's a sweet man he's confident I guess

for this part of the world he wants you

he courted me when we were younger but

when I chose Rob he took it well no we

stayed friends he's been really great

with Bobby since Rob died

yeah okay mr. chance

what's your story what about me I have a

truck oh well that's real revealing it's

not much to reveal you married no kids

versa

what your horoscope bottom I don't think

that guys now what do you believe in no

wife no kids you live in a truck anyway

what get us what gets you up in the

morning

I think I better be going

thank you

hey are you going up there sorry it's

Kim worth T mm you like it go for a ride

why so you get you're my mama good of a

guy you are

mm-hmm a lot of fun I'll pass

why sure trucker

I'm not trucker well you think so

bunch of reasons first up you say you're

an independent yeah so so I'll think the

penance I've ever seen had their names

on the calves they customizing like

crazy

she's got nothing no fuzzy dice no naked

lady mud flap oh she's brand-new and

that's the other thing

a brand-new rig is a mighty big bite for

a local hauler you have you driver

someday don't you whatever gets me the

farthest away from here call me

[Music]

you're supposed to be the Missouri but

now yeah something came up I think

that's coming up

I tail it out of that Michael their

chance

I'm serious no I'm serious she said

there's a reason I survived chance Jacob

called her find you something is wrong

out and that leavings I figured it out

once you walk up there now

[Music]

[Music]

[Applause]

[Music]

[Applause]

[Music]

[Applause]

[Music]

[Music]

top Greece yeah we met no sir I service

said you were at the office took a wild

guess

well can I do to help you get the corner

around here right mm-hmm

baby doctor corner sometimes

veterinarian mmm whatever people need so

you did the autopsy on Rob Whitlock last

year that's confidential

no it's not it's public record

where's Rob Whitlock a really drunk that

night his whole truck stink of alcohol

his clothes everything it's not the same

thing as a doctor did you do a blood

test didn't have to so you didn't know

chef Elliott said it wasn't necessary

now we throw there's one more thing

looking for a pair of brothers ages

around thirty one of them goes by joint

easy buddy see your hands can see take a

seat all right now just tell me sure I

fell he put you up to this

we don't know what you're talking about

and he had robbed that diner on the date

was closed which is the last place

anyone with half a brain would pick

unless we were after something other

thing money right right right

[Music]

[Music]

what's going on that's Chances truck

afraid so well what happened is he

alright

physically he's fine but lately he's in

a whole lot of trouble what kind of

trouble we caught him holding the gun on

two ranchers over near Blanton he sold

it them right in their home god knows

what he had in his mind you know I keep

thinking to the other day at your place

maybe he was in league with those two

tried to rob you maybe he was after

something else something worse I don't

believe it it's just not possible

Sarah in this sad old world no one is

who they seem and anything is possible

[Music]

isn't a bother you working for murder

you know your boss kills Sarah

Whitlock's husband that's enough out of

you pulled him over out by the

Wickenburg bend knocked him out

how's his body the whiskey and then he

drove his ford high-speed right to the

guardrail I said that's enough

ask doc hedges why the sheriff wouldn't

let him autopsy with locks body why the

hell should I use your lawmen I bet you

all your life that's all you ever

dreamed about sheriff ray he's the best

man I've ever known

also very crazy about Sir with luck

crazy have to kill for and you know it

you vowed uphold the law deputy not

sheriff ray Elliot you know what you

have to do you go check it out come back

get me

[Music]

looking for a stranger tall dark hair

Mico himself Michael maybe not

so many strangers pass through here they

just sort of all blend together and you

remember this guy I remember him

tall better-looking in outfits droving

in town and a truck straight out of five

years in the future better my gonna know

is that a fact I think he said maybe

wonder if he was the law that you guys

well I can't really say without seeing

him first

that should be easy he's caged up with

the sheriff's right across the street

hey I thought there was a little reward

involved here now what couldn't give me

that idea

[Music]

[Music]

[Music]

you're wrong I'm not wrong you know

where do you think Eliot is God knows

check out my numbers check Elliot's home

I'll check the Whitlock's find him call

me don't try to take him along

don't you either fucking help

[Music]

chef Lu here excuse me what are you

doing out of jail credit let me out how

did he find Eliot right away why what

happened

Sara ray killed your husband he wanted

you and Rob was in his way it was an

accident

no I wasn't he poured whiskey on his

body Rob wasn't drunk you know that your

husband had anti-lock brakes on his

pickup sheriff Eliot stated Ms report

there was rubber all over the road into

the guardrail her husband didn't crash

that night police on his own his pickup

was pushed

how did you find out about this robbery

didn't make any sense there must be a

dozen places around here with much more

cash on hand why

[Music]

Eliott figure with Rob out of the way

he'd walk in and take his place he

didn't buy it so he wanted you poor

broken vulnerable see there's a couple

of losers the next town over

come on a stage that robbery he was

gonna come in and save the day and

proved you and Bobby you needed a man

around the house but you beat him to it

this is gonna kill Bobby he's already

lost his father Ray was the closest

thing he had to a second one sure he got

close to Bobby to get close to you I

caused all this no you didn't it was

about me it was all about me sorry it is

not it's just a chance please just to

stay here and if Ray comes and you'll be

waiting I can't he knows I know that

makes him scared that makes him

dangerous

I've got to find him I want you to stay

here I'm gonna call you all right

[Music]

you gotta trust me

[Music]

we have ourselves a serious problem

you're gonna have to get out of town

boys or leave our home it's not me

asking Darryl it's reality you said you

already got this creep in the lock-up

for the moment but I don't know who he

knows or who he might have called well

if that's the problem put us in there

with him

terrible accidents happen in jail you're

not listening get inside get back and go

out of the state out of the country well

I don't know Sheriff

that kind of run-in you're talking about

cost me money and to do it right a lot

of money how much 25,000 each each well

I'm not exactly in a position to bargain

[Music]

who's there

Bobby

stayed there in case he calls I'll find

him

I'll fine

let me go let me go you want to live

through this huh

okay you want to see your mother again

now there's only one way you can survive

this Bobby if you help me know how

somebody's got to pay for those to buy

the car I think it's your friend chance

no way we both say that we saw him shoot

him

oh do it never not even if it keeps your

mother alive right here he never came
