no Calder organization don't insult our intelligence counselor a witness will

answer I was undercover inside the Calder

family for eight months during that time to do witnessed violent interactions

between the defendant Jakob Calder and his late mistress objection his late

friend Colleen Raymond numerous times were you ever called upon to assist

after one of these episodes on two occasions I had to perform first aid at

the Calder estate on another I had to drive miss Raymond to the emergency room

at st. John's I provided the receipts and records please record government's

exhibit 9a agent Cates did you see mr. Calder strike the blows which caused

Colleen Raymond's death

I guess ma'am I saw a Jacob calls were killed Colleen Raymond with his bare

hands

order in the fourth clear this courtroom if necessary

Thanks did you find your shoes hurry up honey we have to meet daddy at the

courthouse Walter I'm an angel gee that's a tough choice I want to take

them both remember this is a surprise adventure trip we have to travel light I

tell you what you give me Walter and you stood by and watched while my client

allegedly hurt miss Raymond no sir why her client killed her oh so weird to

believe you're a medical expert agent case no sir

and you're not a doctor no sir but I am the former Army Ranger then we're

trained in trauma medicine are you telling me you just stood there and

allowed this to happen was the Justice Department so eager to hang my client

that they were willing to sacrifice an innocent life no sir I tried to help I

was being restrained restrained yes sir but mr. Psilakis back there he's mr.

Colter's bodyguard does his dirty work for him

why didn't he kill miss rent actually he offered to but mr. Calder wouldn't let

him he wanted that pleasure all to himself

come now agent gates you're a practiced witness you know better than to

speculate oh I'm not speculating mr. Calder said

it did you no sir - mr. Seleucus oh well then it's hearsay no sir I have the

entire conversation on tape this tape if it exists was never offered in the

discovery phase the government never planned to introduce it your honor but

since the defense has pursued this line of questioning

perhaps the jury should hear the tape she knew it existed she knew we

challenged it and she knew you throw it out don't presume my rulings counselor

as long as the government didn't plan to place this tape in evidence they're

under no obligation to share it with you

get me out of here what now ask for a recess but we've got him on the ropes

get her recessed now thanks hey you you ready mommy where's nice

guitar oh you know what that won't fit the car

get me some of my stuff

that's enough but I couldn't find it mom I know you know what we're gonna buy

him a brand-new one okay so good

Stacy come on

when I'm alone

in your eyes I know a bundle

I

- for the strength to be strong the will to carry

Mike

Michael

come on we gotta get out of here well predict this is long gone

not if you're here they'll come after you wherever you are

cause we're coming out he's waiting

or

or

good

what about the prosecutor she's next

so when's my appeal scheduled how do I make bail well cut the crap how soon

till I'm out of here it doesn't look good a cop's family gets

blown to bits the very same day that cop accuses you of murder in open court so

what better alibi could I possibly have Jake I'm just the messenger

where's Cates looking for him now you're looking for him what am i untrained eye

it looks for all the world as if you're just sitting there in your ass filling

my ears with bad news by this time tomorrow he'll be a memory every stone

will turn every snitch every source we ever employed find him

consider it done

you have to let us help you I don't have to do anything

we owe you protection like you ordinary Anastasia Michael I know you're grieving

and normally I give you all the time you need there's that a normal about this

burden oh there is it Jacob called Oh wants to end you and maybe that makes

two of us now that talk has got to stop we've got

to get you out of here out of harm's way and I got the perfect program to do it a

combination of witness protection no way Michael this is a unique offer a

one-time opportunity said no way bird I've heard all this before and there's

no way I'm gonna start my life over and some godforsaken town surrounded by

strange faces that's not what I'm suggesting what are you suggesting a

badge rights rules I've done that look who we are

what's your alternative make take a call to pay for what he did in my family

we've already done that the man is in prison it's not good enough

I don't care how long it takes

I don't care I want it takes

I'm gonna make him home

some way but I swimmer stand still

whiskey right Jacob called on this place way

Levi

with me the pieces of my

preliminary reports indicated no casualties but further checking revealed

that the blast took the lives of Kate's wife Mary hidden 27 and their daughter

Stacy age five naturally it's widely speculated that the blast was triggered

in retribution for the testimony which most believe will cost Colin her life in

federal prison

Oh

it's about ready Freddy come ask me along respect

on

hey hey here

mr. Koller has a very special treat for you Michael

Thanks now will you listen to my own

thanks but

tell me something

the color is trying to obliterate you and you walk into a bar and you know

it's one of his operations now somewhere out there in the universe of Mary Ann

and Stacy are watching do you wonder what they're thinking do you think Mary

Ann is pleased that you're walking straight into Calder's crosshairs you

think Stacy is happy that our daddy is sitting in some bar getting so wasted he

can't defend themselves stop I lost a wife too remember you were there

I remember one thing Rebecca kept saying to me during the time she was in the

hospital she'd look at me when I came to visit and she say hey I'm the one that's

dying not you that's the bottom line they're gone we're still here we can

throw it away or make it count

I think you'll make the right choice that is if I can keep you alive long

enough for you to come to your senses

what do i do come with me before call the census next soldier to find you

and believe me I'm not suggesting any normal relocation program I know you

Michael you've never let you go nuts right look our program is a sports

program where we don't just drop you and leave ya if Jacob caller wants a target

fine we'll give him a target I'll give him a moving target

that okay say hello to your new home I'm not a truck driver Burton well you once

wore a less light on your department application I was in college I draw a

dump truck this is a little different I couldn't agree with you more agent C

Baxter case manager witness protection program

my pleasure for the record this project isn't ready I can't support it not ready

for what Burton well the way I see it the one place Jacob called it might not

find you is no place at all every place it wants exactly and the

sooner you get out there between those white lines the better not necessarily I

designed this project with Kenworth to provide a moving cover for a client with

very special needs we have the perfect candidate the truck isn't scheduled to

be operative for another month the up Lakes aren't running on full

capability the computer system uplinks computer systems how long does it take

to learn to operate this truck qualified driver maybe two weeks you have a day a

day that's impossible you've driven a truck

before you hit the road as soon as C says you can vanish into the great

American landscape that's crazy no it isn't we'll be tracking you coaching you

supporting you you'll have months of practice once you're out there on that

road

my cover he's driving freighter in the country

I'll be your dispatcher your control I'll also devise your new identity mr.

Cates you know very well that the witness protection program isn't for

everyone some people just can't handle it

you still want revenge

you know the answer to that then don't give Jacob caller what he wants he wants

you dead stay alive

let's take a ride

okay these codes will continually change they open the hatch this is your

emergency gear fire extinguisher tools ammo

this will never work you know I don't know I don't know the first thing about

trucks

there's got to be another way oh there is you tried it you almost got yourself

killed now get in the cab to get lost

you lost him he got help from Hardesty his boss and justice we're pretty sure

you're pretty sure I apologize one more pass is all I need

no you're finished what are you talking about Jacob

Michael Cates is a difficult target I'll find someone who can handle it I can

handle it based on what you've told me at least three government agencies must

be looking for you at this very moment this is the last time you see my face

so what are you saying Jacob don't worry we'll take care of you

meaning what Andy go home a bag has been packed for you one bag everything you

need for the rest of your life it's on your bed you've been in my place go to

our tenth Avenue terminal one of my freighters is sailing tomorrow six-month

Pacific circuit I am NOT some deck swabbing sailor Jacob

you are now bon voyage the power plants a cat sea 16

turbo diesel now every function of the engine is monitored by the on-board

computers and then it's reported to you on your heads up this place well how do

you like it I find her demanding difficult very hard

to handle but she sure does build a mean truck does that mean you agree to the

placement before you say anything you must accept one more condition there is

to be absolutely no attempt at revenge and Jacob called earnest people the

whole point of putting you in witness protection is to keep you alive the

department didn't you create this asset so you could carry out a personal

vendetta on a man who's already behind bars

I understand

worried about where are you going anymore practice driving

I know you followed orders today although you disagreed I appreciate that

that's what we do it's what you do it's what Michael Cates does sometimes he is

a maverick alright but he has the best pure instincts I've ever seen for an

agent survivor what is he gonna do out there Burton do it Armand support him

well we don't have every answer but what we do know is that he has to keep moving

stay alive I own that much

on Michael talk to me what's going on what's wrong

he's off the screen what do you mean your million-dollar tracking system

screwed up already no it's him it's Kate's it's something

he's done where did you last have sight of him oh damn it that's the last place

on earth he should be come on

I believe he'll be free beer I believe you owe me a new front window I pay for

it every board you got from Psilakis I'm sorry

forget sorry where is he I don't know I don't know I don't know

the colors have a they have a shipping line and I'm in a warehouse yeah

it's the tenth Avenue terminal day on the whole thing

where's the tractor this makes no sense you don't know Michael case makes

perfect sense this is Burton Hardesty Department of Justice I want to issue an

all-points bulletin a stolen truck a blue Kenworth T mm what are you doing

approach with extreme caution and stop the terrible mistake

no it wasn't he's out of control

mr. Psilakis we've been expecting your paperwork's right inside here

here it is

you think this time I white belt I didn't kill her

who did then I don't know

I was in the courtroom with you

who push the button

all right

don't do this

my good man you do this you'll Rob yourself and the only thing that hasn't

taken away from you the very last thing you still have to lose

who killed my family

you you did not Michael the minute you agreed to bring down

Jacob kalter you kill

I don't believe this then I thought I'd do you we agree the only thing we've

agreed you was it the people who killed my family

we're gonna pay yeah but you're a cop if you break the rules Michael if you cross

that line you don't beat them you become one of them

you're right I am a cop and no one least of all Calder will ever take that away

from me hey Michael is this jus a new you transforming yeah like it for John

Wayne West maybe I don't know chance fits how do you figure how many second

chances have you had in last 48 hours well you cheated death the what four or

five times it's got to be a reason

justice you know justice go find it

currently there are 1.3 million violent criminals in US prisons in the next 12

months more than 500,000 will be released to safeguard the brave

individuals who testified against these offenders the federal witness protection

program was created
