My name is Alexander, and I'm 32 years old. I'm looking for a girlfriend who

loves to have lots of laughs, lots of cheekiness, has a sense of humour, and

who's just overall full of love.

We all want love, but finding that special person isn't always easy.

I've been a princess. I've yet to find my prince charming.

This series follows New Zealanders living with Down syndrome and other

disabilities in their search for romance.

I think it's kind of like a boyfriend material.

I live in a little historic gold mining town called Thames on the Coromandel

Peninsula.

I live with my mum Anne.

I nicknamed her Fluffy because of the amount of fluffy hair she has

on her head.

I was born in Romania in a place called Constanza in a hospital or an orphanage

with 80 other babies waiting to be adopted.

So do you remember, you wouldn't remember this, would you?

Vaguely. Vaguely? I held on to your finger and I never let go when I was

in my cot. Which finger was it? This one. I remember that too, you know.

I love my mum so much because she saved my life from that orphanage. I would

have perished if it weren't for her and my dad.

As a toddler, Alex was diagnosed with ADHD, then re -diagnosed with Asperger's

at eight years old.

find it hard to, like, adapt to things sometimes.

And, like, when I, like, I don't like being forced into doing

stuff, I don't let my Asperger's or autism get the better of me. Instead,

I get the better of it.

View on life, just always the same, always cheerful.

If you're down in a grumpy mood, he'll always bring you up.

He's got so much energy.

We act like we're flatting.

And we share the kitchen. I cook my own meals. Because it's all about being

independent, being your own self, doing your own thing and being you.

he's a guy that I really like. You know, I'm not great with boys, talking to

boys.

Happy. And so what's happening inside your brain when you receive a text?

want it over and over again.

But we have to watch it because we can do too many texts and then the dopamine

feeling goes away for the other person.

If you're awake and you can't go to sleep, you could just write the question

I actually think this is a really great opportunity with Alex because sometimes

when you get to know someone, you're going to get it wrong. Yeah. And you

even say, oh, sometimes I'm going to get it wrong, Alex, but could you just
