Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, we have a special guest today. She's been

performing for crowds since she was 8 years old. 12 -year -old Taylor Swift.

Hey, everybody. I'm Taylor.

I'm going to be doing some songs for you guys tonight. I hope you guys are

having a great time.

Very early on, she just knew she was going to have to work hard.

I mean,

it depends on how far back we want to go.

But it escalated from school play, theater group, karaoke nights.

I'm going to be doing some songs for you guys, and I hope you guys are having a

great time because I sure am.

Calling around to festivals and amusement parks to see if there was a

little kid with a guitar and a couple of speakers.

It was as basic as you can possibly imagine, dragging guitars through

Piling them into a rental car, hit another city, another city, and just

going.

And she, from a very early age, always knew exactly how she wanted things to

And she was always planning what her headline tour would be like.

You know, I never heard her say the word fame or money.

It was always just about the opportunity to go sing her

songs and have everybody else singing those same words back to her.

She would do these theaters, and they kept getting bigger and bigger and sold

out faster and faster.

So it was a gradual thing.

I don't think that when you are doing that, you ever for a split second

take the time to think, it will become this.

The European tour was so intense that by the end, I was exhausted

past a point that I can remember.

So we need the break after Wembley to recharge not only our

bodies, our energy, but our passion for giving that much every night.

So that by the time we got back to the U .S., We were all just, like, fired up.

Since we finished the massive

European leg of the Heirs Tour, it's really just been trying to get back up

speed, being home.

We have this two -month break.

We'll kind of regroup and catch our breath a little bit.

I'm taking care of my home life, and then we'll get ready for the final push.

I love traveling. I love my job. It's the best.

And, like, everything's planned for us, and then you get home and you're like,

what do I do?

And you have to learn how to schedule things for yourself again.

So I'm really excited for this break so that I can sit right here.

And practice.

I do live with my parents, my little brother, and my grandma.

I love coming home to them, getting, like, home -cooked meals and stuff.

I am eventually going to get my own apartment in L .A.

It's a long time to be away.

Rachel and I don't have children, but, I mean, I went crazy how much I miss the

dog.

You know, just trying to get back into being a normal human and having a

schedule and adulting. Trying to get life back together.

Four months is a long time to just check out and have fun, but come back to,

like, oh, reality, my car registration.

Yikes.

So pretty.

Nostalgia is a huge part of the era's tour.

If you were 12 years old during the Red Era...

you're going to remember certain things that you saw and certain things that you

felt. It's my job to bring those feelings and those visuals back to you.

Wardrobe is one way to do that. Oh, I love it.

Oh, I'm so excited about it.

The costume design for the Heiress Tour was undertaken by my longtime stylist,

Joseph Cassell.

He's been with me since I was 16.

The Heiress Tour is...

All about the fans, you know.

The reason I'm able to do my job so well is because I am a fan, too.

I love the organic way that Taylor and I work. It's like the secret language

that we have.

She would send me images. She'll be like, ooh, send me an image. And I'm

aha.

And I pulled about 50 different pictures from online.

Nice. For the acoustic set.

Awesome. I want it to be all 50 dresses.

For the tour, we chose to be a little reflective and sentimental and tie in

the designers who had been with Taylor from the beginning.

I mean, dancing all night. Yeah, my feet ache, but I'm wearing Louboutins.

Like, it is a privilege for these feet to ache like this.

This was designed by Roberto Cavalli. She puts it on in the dark on stage.

The Magic of Velcro. The video for 22. I remember it like it was yesterday.

Reputation. These strips are all sequined by hand.

I remember meeting with Versace and Milan.

And I was like, oh my gosh.

When you see the Versace bodysuit just made of all these crystals and the

light hits it and it's a...

Oh, so obsessed with this. This is my new favorite for sure. It somehow like

heals me from having the stomach flu.

It can take me from being utterly exhausted.

I'm just like, nope, if I'm wearing this, I got to level up. I got to be on

level of this outfit.

So here's another option of the coat.

It's less overtly military, you know?

When I start working on something with tea... You want to try the white one?

I'm only thinking about the effect that it has on her. Oh, my God.

That's amazing.

Until I step into a stadium, and I'm, like, blown away.

Thousands of people dressed in a way that reflects one of Taylor's looks.

They use tape, they use stones, they use whatever.

I love her. She has an outfit with a lot of rainbow fringe. That's kind of where

this came in.

The commitment the fans have is beyond the music.

There's a connection on a deep soul level with Taylor.

During her New Jersey concert, Taylor debuted a new dress in this beautiful

burgundy. Again, like the jacket.

I really love this one.

The costumes generally mean a lot, but reputation was

monumental.

My favorite part of the show is the reputation set. My mom made this outfit

scratch. I have like a reputation bodysuit in front.

I love it.

I'm a reputation girl, of course.

Taylor Swift's most iconic outfit on the Heiress Tour is, of course, this never

-changing reputation bodysuit. Which we've only gotten one the entire 131

What we're waiting for right now is to see if Taylor Swift is going to come out

with a new reputation outfit. What's the same?

Same outfit, yeah. We were clowning.

We keep waiting for a new reputation bodysuit just for funsies. If you were

have a new reputation bodysuit, what would you want it to look like?

This is the new one.

It's got to come up. It has to come up because they think my boobs are here,

You know? The original cat suit was made from a different fabric.

That was all the fabric that there was in the world. So we had to recreate the

fabric for the second one.

And for this one. I know what you mean. Yeah, it's just really annoying and I

have to do really athletic shit in this. We thought we could fix it because

there was no time for them to actually recreate a new one in time for Miami.

They couldn't do it.

This was my first tour with her.

I started with Taylor in 2009.

In the trajectory of my professional life and career, yeah, that's probably

zero to 60 right there.

Strapped onto that rocket and have been able to do all of this with her, which

is great.

Remember this? Oh.

It was her first birthday present from Taylor.

It's got a little photo of Mommy and Sophie, Daddy and Sophie, and then Miss

Taylor, as she calls her. Yes, Miss Taylor.

We had both our kids while I was working for her, so she was kind of around both

of the births, and I think that this was the first child. Yeah, it was the first

kid born while in the band.

And so, yeah, I think it was a special moment. Yeah.

Yeah.

It's so wonderful being able to carry a professional family with you

as you go through phases of life, as you go through ups and downs and

heartbreaks.

There is such a special bond among the touring family.

It's like having another family.

They're the only other people really in the world who know what this is like.

Before the show, after the show, on the off days, we are like this.

And that's not normal.

It's like she's handpicked these incredible people to be a part of this

Most of the people I'm out here on the road with have known me since high

school.

But also, there are people that I just got to know in this phase of my

life. Jeslyn is one of the most talented, resilient, loving people I've

ever been around.

She was the newest addition to our backup singers.

I started with her reputation.

I had never done a stadium tour before. And so the first show was just like,

whoa, this is a lot of people.

We've been singing together for a couple of years.

And when Jessalyn got sick, it was the first blow

that the tour family experienced emotionally.

It was like completely unfathomable to us.

Sucks.

While on tour, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

And obviously it was devastating.

But every weekend we had a show, so I still flew to the next city, did a show

with everyone, and in the middle of the week when we weren't doing shows, I

would fly back to L .A. and just have biopsies and just poked and prodded to

learn really what I had to do treatment -wise, and then hopped back on stage and

pretended like... Nothing was happening.

I'll never forget when she told us.

Everyone was just in shambles.

And it's the not knowing.

Here I go. When I let Taylor know, she came storming in with hugs and crying

just saying, I'm so sorry. And her mom said, you just take care of you, and

we'll be here when you're ready.

So six months, I had to, like, take off and go through chemo, surgery.

I had edema. I had, like, skin issues.

I usually have all this curly hair.

I lost about 75 % of my hair. I felt and looked completely different.

And just kind of watched my friends on live streams in the show.

It was a hard one because we got to come be together for months.

She was home by herself, isolated from

the family.

We just wanted her to know that no matter what, under any circumstances, if

wanted to come back, she could.

Goodbye treatment.

I said, how quickly can I get back on tour after I'm done with radiation?

My doctor said, that night.

But you have to get back into shape.

She literally finished radiation and got on a plane.

I actually have a video of when we saw each other at the hotel.

Just coming back to this joy -filled show and these people just emphasize

even more how much we're a family.

I cannot believe that she was back in a few months.

The will to come back and do the hardest show ever.

None of us could believe it.

I still can't.

You have gotten stronger on those throughout the years.

It's from all the pent -up rage and resentment I have for them.

Who do you leave on Thursday night?

Thursday morning, go there, do a full run -through in the stadium, which I'm

really excited about, with costumes.

I want to be, like, back in it so much that I can, like, not be so, like,

remember your stuff that you don't want to forget, like, you know?

You don't want to see me do this without a rehearsal.

That's what you don't want. Yeah.

There are a lot of things that we pulled off on this tour that I've never even

attempted on past tours.

I think the longest show I ever did before was two hours and 15 minutes.

I never would have believed you if you would have told me we would be doing a

three and a half hour show.

Now, saying that is one thing.

Doing that physically is another.

I've never worked out this much in my life. It's horrible.

I really had to up my game in terms of physical training.

Six months ahead of my first rehearsal, running on the treadmill every single

day at the tempo of the songs that I was playing while singing them.

You just don't want them to see you panting.

1989 and reputation are very high cardio.

Anything's hard when you're scaling a stage that goes the entire length of an

NFL stadium.

I think I run like eight miles in the show.

Once we get to Miami, the turnaround time from landing and performing will be

very short.

We leave in six days.

Haven't played the show in a couple months. And there are some things I want

make sure that I don't mess up.

Shake,

shake, shake.

Oh, we are so back.

Can I do a video, like, out in the stadium with my cat?

We'll find a place out in the stadium, but it'll be, like, me walking in with

cat, just, like, take my sunglasses off.

And, like, so it would be behind me, and then once I stop, start going around me

like this.

It's basically like we're back in the office. You know? And I've got my most

well -behaved cat for it.

She is my best one.

What an idiot.

Shirt's going backwards.

I knew something looked weird.

It's wild being back. So it's lots of hugging, telling the same story like 50

times as far as what you've been up to over the break. It's awesome. It's

awesome to be back. It doesn't feel like work.

We are starting our last leg of this tour.

We have 18 more shows left, which is very bittersweet. It's very sad.

We're cramming.

Yeah, cramming for the test.

at miami stadium i'm a little nervous but but you know because we want it to

my brain just It's like I can't remember a single part of the show.

That's what I was about to say. Are we actually going to get new rats? I know.

I'm like, I got really excited all of a sudden. I got to see if this can even

happen because they put my food cup on my rib cage.

Either way, I want to see it.

It's not that beautiful the way it fits me now.

my God.

I don't know how you guys managed this.

Oh, wait.

How does it fit so well?

This is beautiful.

Nothing's gonna pop out and look it's like it's in this how does in the right

spot because you guys took the cups out what happened?

I'm so excited.

I've never had an alternate outfit for the reputation section. Not once.

People are going to lose their minds.

As we were getting ready to go back into the shows again, Taylor was like, Mom,

I'm really worried.

I'm trying to go back in my mind and run through the show.

And I get to certain spots and it just stops.

And I said, don't worry about it.

You're going to get back on that stage and everything will come flooding back.

guarantee it.

And I hoped that I was right, but I didn't know.

Performing that show.

It's incredibly technical and hard.

This tour isn't kind of like, oh, we just fly by the seat of our pants around

here. No, like we stage manage the shit out of this show.

We're dealing with lots of production elements, lighting, screen content,

pyro, moving floors, confetti, costumes, choreography.

There's so many moving parts and it has to be.

No mistakes.

Perfect timing.

There's a lot going on that happens really fast. A lot of fast cues from

one end of the stage to the other.

CP and a lift up.

Go. It's nerve -wracking.

It takes a lot taking the right stuff out at the right times, so we all have

communicate well. We're always moving.

The wings can be challenging.

We have had instances where they broke.

If there's high winds, it gets really hard for them because it's super heavy.

Cue 4301.

Go.

She's singing.

and having to engage, and having to figure out what's coming next.

She has some flexibility in where she might go, but there are some times when

it's very exact.

And if she's not standing in the right place, it's actually dangerous.

I don't want to fall in a hole, and I don't want to have, like, pyro go off on

my head. I legitimately celebrate, like, every moment that something doesn't go

wrong.

Everybody is firing on all cylinders.

I work in the wardrobe department, and I also am one of Taylor's dressers.

There's two of us.

Every alpha change is about a minute and 15 or less. Our fastest quick

change, though, is 39 seconds with her in the room.

Those quick changes are like nothing you've ever seen before.

It is like watching a NASCAR race.

How many quick changes does she have?

20 quick changes.

Our crew helped us build four quick change booths. From there, we kind of

through the underworld of the stage.

It's all very, very fast.

We don't really have time for snags. It's very choreographed. Every second

counts. Every millisecond counts.

There were moments where I thought, I don't know if...

These costume changes are going to happen in time.

I'm only off the stage for a maximum of two minutes at a time.

Those transitions, it's like I'm going under the stage. I'm getting on a weird

like pulley system.

I'm getting pulled over here.

Meanwhile, I'm unzipping my thing. I'm running upstairs. I'm going into a

different quick change room on a whole different floor.

I'm ripping this off. I'm putting this on.

Stomp your feet three times. It's literally the most complicated.

You have no idea the panic of worrying you're not going to be dressed in time

for the song to start.

And it is that panic that drives me to never be late.

I remember one time I was running from the Evermore era.

I trip over the hem of my dress, bust my knee.

I skid.

The palm of my hand off.

Hobble into the quick change room.

Blood's coming down my hand. I'm changing into the reputation bodysuit.

that's slapping off, I just pull it off. More blood. They don't have a band -aid

back there.

Dun, dun, dun. Wasn't late.

Wasn't late for the intro of that song.

The fans noticed it a couple days later. They're like, oh, her palm's gone.

I was like, I am not acknowledging this.

Nothing's wrong.

It's always been like that.

It was

really good, but I made three mistakes, and I'm so glad

I made it in a rehearsal.

You know what I mean?

Can I talk to the dancers real quick about how I was supposed to fall off

thing? Because I've completely forgotten.

Can you hold Valen for me?

Yeah, she'll just remind me and I'll do it right.

The main concern pretty much for every day this weekend is going to be the

I don't know if you guys have been seeing in the stadium itself down in the

bowl. We haven't seen anything over 20 in the last 24 hours. That's good to

because it has been higher outside the bowl.

The weather element of playing outdoor stadiums is...

at times delightful and exciting at times it is frustrating at times

it is feels uh really really horrific looking at precipitation right now it

looks like as you go on later in the day the chances for showers start to

increase like that's how much crazy weather we've run into on this tour

This is the rainiest rain show that ever rain showed.

Weather components I don't enjoy.

Extreme winds. Do not like it. Do not love it. Do not like to see the speakers

doing this. Hate that.

Don't want it. When you hear the word lightning, that's when we start having

really worry about postponement.

We also have the lightning detection system.

You can come in here, monitor it, come and go as you please.

Then you get situations where sometimes it's kind of wonderful.

Just cinema, just drama, just it adds to it. It adds to the show if there

aren't other weather situations at play.
