met their end on this journey.

We're giving the entire
cast a chance to weigh in

on who they feel
should snatch the crown

and one final opportunity to
address any secrets or lies

they may have carried
with them to the grave.

with 11 monster drag artists
from around the world

who met each other
for the first time

right here on this stage.

Let's take a look at
their first moments

in the competition.

- It's time to meet
your competitors.

- Maddelynn Hatter,
never heard of it.

- I'm a huge fan of Violencia's
donut and her donut titties

because it makes my fat
rolls jiggle with delight.

- I'm just communicating
that I wasn't impressed.

which is a very pretty gem.

Every young queen
knows who she is.

amazing cast that
I could imagine.

when you were honest
and nasty and mean.

Maddelynn, how did you feel

about winning a
prize so quickly?

- It was very cool.

forward to the trip?

about facing that?

And honestly, it was
the only extermination

that I had to do to
prove myself here,

so I got it outta
the way quickly.

you were in over your heads?

Everyone had their own
distinct kind of like character

and so it was exciting

and it was also a

I felt like I was gonna

This is a lot and I'm really
disappointed in myself

that I couldn't
get over my fear.

like why I chose not to do it

of Maxi for doing it

and I wish I could've been
there with her doing it,

but I let my fear
get in the way.

But I wasn't able to do it

and I have to live with that
forever and it fuckin' sucks.

- Do you think if you had
to face the challenge today,

do you think you could do it?

actually think I could.

Were you concerned that
you might have to do

mine that a heights thing

was going to be happening.

and a fear of heights.

two fears into one

and it was just overload.

It was a lot.

- But we did really
good, didn't we then?

but you went through with it.

experience was like.

- I was scared.

I was like I'm also
afraid of planes

and I was like I could die.

Was inexperience part
of that equation?

- I feel like it was a mix
between the inexperience.

We have such a talented cast.

I felt like personally,
I had to elevate myself

to a level that I
probably wasn't quite at

to catch up with everyone else.

- Yeah, that's a thing.

I mean, we don't cast
people to go home.

- [St. Lucia] Yeah.

- So it was sort
of anyone's game.

But coming in, everyone
is performing at a
really high level

and if you're not ready for it,

there's not a lotta
time to catch up.

- We heard in the boudoir

that you did all your
tattoos yourself.

Can you tell us a
little bit about that?

- Growing up, I had
a troubled childhood

as most gay young men have.

- Welcome to the club.

- And you know, I
was finding any way

to like lash out
any way I could.

And you know, instead of
like you know cutting myself

or something, I did a
lotta body modifications.

- How many tattoos do you
have that you did yourself?

- I have 170.

from friends and family

and the constant threat
of exterminations looming,

the competition took an
emotional toll on the cast

in an unexpected
way this season.

Let's take a look.

I just feel so embarrassed
week after week after week

and it's just like I don't know

what I can do
differently, you know?

- This is gonna

And this show in particular

will rip you right from
out of this battle armor

that we're so used to hiding in.

And then having to like
claw and crawl your way

through these things that
you assholes have put on us.

You get frustrated
and you throw a staff.

The thing is though too
is that like you know,

you can leave
social media behind.

You can leave all your
friends and family behind,

but you carry shit with
you into this competition.

You don't just get
to drop everything.

You know all the
pain and suffering

and like anxiety and
all those things,

they come right along with you

and you have to deal with that

plus this fuckin' competition.

- You know, it's designed
that way on purpose.

After this you know,

after havin' to face
all these exterminations

and these challenges, it's
gonna give us a better sense

on how to deal with our
shit in our real life.

Don't take it too seriously.

there can be a solution

to all of the problems
that you're facing.

- Well Yovska shared
her feelings too.

Can you kinda bring us there?

What was going on in your
mind when that was going on?

- I mean, I felt coming in here

I was really unique
compared to everyone

in terms of like what I
do is just so different

and I ended up starting to feel

like I didn't really
quite belong in the cast

or not on the show or something.

It's that in some way, you know?

I just started to feel like
what am I doing wrong here?

Do I have to wear a wig?

How much of myself do I
have to change or morph

in order to meet
the expectations?

- Do you believe that
we were looking for you

to do things like wear a
wig or change your drag

in order to go forward?

- I was looking at
everyone and I'm like,

oh fuck, what did I walk into?

I'm not wearing a wig,
I'm not wearing fishnets.

So I think I was
sorta self-projecting

a little bit of those doubts.

But I guess baby blue is
just not Monsters of Rock.

- I thought it was so
cute when I first saw it.

I was like, it's so cute.

I didn't think though, oh
this is Monsters of Rock.

This is cute.

- I think honestly
what hurt the most

was more so the color choice.

- Thinking about it
now in retrospect,

having all the time
to think about it,

I'm like well you know,
I was in a competition

that was looking
for specific things.

It just happened that I kind of

went a little off the target.

- I'm very glad to
hear you say that.

I mean, to hear
that you felt down

on your own creative spirit

because of something you
experienced in the show

kinda hurts me a little.

But you turn the
corner and you realize

these are specific things
we're asking you for.

It is this emotional
pressure cooker

that we've all created;
it's part of the experience.

Hopefully at the end,

you've learned some
things along the way

from other amazing artists

and you come out on the
other side just stronger.

"It's not about our art."

relation to the challenges."

And that was really

I guess my downfall

your fellow cast,

have commented on how sweet
you are and how quiet you are.

But when you got in
front of the camera,

this shady monster came out
that I didn't even know existed.

Season 3 Last Supper.

- Evah, you similarly
reached a breaking point

and revealed some disturbing
moments from your childhood.

Let's take a look.

- I didn't even
finish high school.

I actually was kicked outta my
parents' house when I was 17.

My parents and I, like our
relationship was shattered.

I was so angry at them
because they were trying to

get my grades in order, but
also in what they thought

they wanted to get
my behavior in check.

They talked to their therapist.

And then for some fucked up
reason he convinced them,

"Oh, there's this lovely
facility you can take him to

"where he doesn't have to
be in your hair anymore,"

is how I felt about it and I
was there for a whole year.

- [Priscilla] Baby.

- I would have
like group therapy,

then I would have a family
phone call for therapy with them

and then I would only get
one family phone call a week.

- That was monitored.

- Yeah, it's a dark time.

That's a part of my
past, but like I swore

that I would build myself
from the ground up.

And when I discovered drag,

like that was something
that I could call mine

that no one could take
away from me. (weeps)

(poignant orchestral music)

- [Maddelynn] You're incredible.

- Can you share with us more

about what your
childhood was like?

- Yeah, so I grew up
as like the eldest

of four other siblings.

I was almost like the guinea
pig child of my family.

There was just a lot of
rebelling that I was doing.

My parents grew concerned
with my influence

on my brother and my sisters

and they deemed it
worthy to send me away

to a troubled teens facility.

I was there for over
for over a full year.

Because of that, my youngest
sister and my brother,

they were so young at the time.

They don't even know
who I really am.

I built a lot of walls.

I became very guarded
after that experience.

When I finally discovered
drag, it was like...

I'm sorry.

Someone just finally
gave me something

that my parents couldn't
take away from me

and it was finally something
that my grandmother

finally looked at me and told me

that I can finally tell my
friends and my coworkers that

you're doing something that

I can be proud of
my grandson for.

- I hope that the barriers

that maybe even we sense
aren't the ones remaining

from that kind of like painful
place in your childhood.

Because we've tried to
impart in so many ways

that like, there's
a safety net here.

You know, it's brave
of you to share it

and be able to talk about it.

- Anyone who'll ever ask or
wonder what this is like,

it is beyond what anyone
could ever imagine.

It is so much harder
than you could think

just by watching it on TV.

Just the simple
act of opening up

to people more in the boudoir

or talking to somebody
about real shit

or just having a good time,

it's just not a
luxury unfortunately

that I can simply just have.

- Well bitch, I
don't accept that.

I mean I know that
that's the truth for you.

I fucking hate hearing that

because I think you deserve that

and I think you've
taught us some lessons

about discipline and
your own personal power

and your own creativity.

I hope just from
this point forward,

something in this competition

would impart an

let one of those shields down.

like than how I was when I
got on the plane to come here.

Like I was scared and I just
didn't know what to expect,

but now it's like I feel
I can take on myself

but also the world

but one of them knew exactly

- I don't have time

It is not a competition.

I'm gonna take it

I push every boundary
of fear with my art

in order to overcome everything
so I can do anything.

I have a thing about
my art being real.

And for me, it's a part of
the processing of my life.

have: my body fluids,

do to process my life,

to process the way I
walk through this world

and to make a pathway for other
people to walk forward to.

world what it is to exist

outside of a white cis

So like the metaphor goes
far beyond just shock.

one I went home for.

Much like Yovska when I
have an idea, I just do it.

There's parts of me that
can look at it and go,

I can see how this is
aesthetically not Dragula.

But I don't care, that's
what I wanted to do.

So I did it because
that's who I am

and I'm stubborn
like that, you know?

That's what I do.

- We know that you're very
serious about your art.

We did wanna ask you if
you found it challenging

to try to fit what you do
into a format like that.

- There's not a minute
or moment of Hollow Eve

elf, not one second.

I do, I take it very seriously.

I will say over and over again:

my art has saved my life
over and over again.

Quite literally removed
a razor from my wrist.

I like to challenge my
fears every time I perform.

It's because all I wanna
do is unlock every cage

I have ever been put into,

so that someday I can
finally fucking be free.

- I mean, it's almost
conjuring up ideas

of that you're using your
art as means of healing,

which I think from the outside
is probably the last thing

people would associate you with.

- I'm really passionate.

I stand up for shit.

I put myself, my
career and everything

on the line when
it's important to me.

up some trouble,

but you have proven to all of us

that you're very passionate
and you are very loud

and I think that you're
not scared to say

exactly what's on your mind.

But did anyone ever
disagree with Hollow

and maybe find it intimidating

to challenge that
big personality?

I find a big fear in
my heart for Hollow.

- Do you feel that the
rest of the competitor

had a open dialogue?

Did you feel they were
being straight with you

when you were
having conversations

about things that
were important to you?

I don't thing there
was that much dialogue

because I do think
that everybody got
quiet after I talked

and I don't want
that to be the case.

I think all the time like

how could you do
this in a better way?

But then like the very emotional
me you know, is involved.

for thrill-seekers,

pain freaks and drag artists

push their boundaries

on the small screen.

at the wild ride

of some of this season's
extermination challenges.

The extermination challenge

is your last chance

you'll have to consume a
chalice full of live spiders.

- The food stated salty

Tastes like fuckin'

a raw fuckin' pig

- Since all of you have
proved in the boudoir

that you're full of hot air,

this will be your chance to
see who blows the hardest

in our first ever
roach tube race.

We have a mobile tattoo
parlor pulled up in the alley

waiting to tattoo
all of you to filth.

- Oh my god, no. (shrieks)

(Yovska groaning)

- You've got one minute

to get on our
freakshow side stage

and staple as many dollars to
your body as you possibly can.

- Did she die?

- You are going to be
thrown out of an aircraft

at 18,000 feet.

- [Dollya] I sincerely
hope that neither of you

are afraid of heights.

- Now what's Halloween

without a good
old-fashioned haunted house?

(foreboding dark music)

(maniacal laughing)

- Yay.

Again, again, again,
again, again. (chuckles)

- But you know what's
funny with the tattoo one

is that at the time
I'm like, "Oh, so fun.

"I can't wait."

And then it maybe like hit
me like two days after,

I'm like, "Oh fuck,
I have a tattoo."

- Uh huh, (chuckles)
that's how that works.

- Have you forgotten
that quickly?

- No more wine for Yovska.

(all laughing)

- Louisianna.

- You knew you were gonna faint

before you did the
staple extermination.

- Yes.

- And you absolutely
no qualms about it,

went forward and did it anyways.

- Yes.

- What was that like?

What was your thought
process behind that?

- Being pierced
and being tattooed,

I know that my
blood sugar drops.

And I told 'em, I was like,
"My body will give out."

It did, but here was no fuckin'
way I wasn't gonna do it.

There's no way I was
gonna sell myself short.

Like I came here with one
goal: I wanted to win.

And whatever it took,
I would've done it.

And yeah I was scared
shitless to staple my leg,

but I did it and
am I glad I did it?

Absolutely.

Because like every time you
chip away at that block of fear,

it's just more freedom.

- What was the haunted
house like for you?

- The haunted house.

It was funny because I was
legitimately freaked out by it.

- Girl, all I know
is before I went in,

I said, "They're not gonna
try to rip like my hair off

"or anything, right?"

And they're like, "No."

- Someone lied to you.
- And the whole time, bitch,

they tried to pull my
wig off. (chuckles)

- They took my shoe, like at
the very beginning of it too.

So I like walked
through the whole thing

without a fucking shoe on.
- They took your shoe.

- It was so fun.

- Ooh, that does sound fun.
- All right.

(all laughing)

- Allegedly.

- So Maddelynn, you may
not have won Season 3,

but you are officially

Dragula's new queen
of exterminations.

- Thank you, thank you.

- So coming into
this competition,

did you ever think you
would be able to do

all this kinda stuff?

- Well coming into this,

I had no idea what
was gonna happen.

- Yup.

- (chuckles) So there was
no real way of knowing

what I would have
to prepare for.

I mean cockroaches you
know, taste like nuts.

You know, electric shock
therapy isn't that bad.

(Maxi gasping)

I'm really not that you
know, I'm not opposed to it.

I can see why it's a kink and
the tattoo will be removed.

(all laughing)

- I chose it.
(laughs maniacally)

- I said from the very beginning

that puncturing my skin or
needles or anything like that

was a huge no-no for me.

And after doing it, I was like,

"Oh, well it's not that bad."

It's not terrible.

Like it doesn't hurt me
permanently or anything.

- That's what I always think.

It's so temporary.

- I will say third
time around's a charm

and then you just kinda
get over it. (chuckles)

- You're just numb.

- When you were all getting
ready for your floorshows,

the pressure seemed to mount

and a lot of deep issues
came to the surface.

Let's take a look.

- I've been struggling
with addiction

since I was a teenager.

I've only been sober for
a couple of months now.

- You're still counting days.

- I'm still counting days.

This show has saved my life.

When I got that call finally,

I was like, "I want this so bad

"and nothing's gonna
take it from me."

And so I had to go
through withdrawals.

I went through withdrawals
every single night.

'Cause if I did not get casted,

who knows where I would've been.

I would've still
been in a crack den.

- I was hurt and I was so hurt

because I knew that
it was just influenced

by alcohol at the time.

- Relapse is a part of my story

and it's a part of like my
journey and my sobriety.

And you know, I fuck
up and it's really hard

and then I have to recover.

I have worked so
hard on this thing.

Why do you think I
project such fucking

like malicious energy out there?

Because I don't need
anybody fuckin' with me.

It's been really hard.

- And you know that like

I've dealt with
addiction in my family

and I know how it works and
I know how the steps work.

There's no one you're ever gonna
meet more forgiving than me

and more understanding in
this situation than me.

- This is gonna be an ongoing
thing that I need to work on.

I'm glad that we...

Like I feel.

- I feel lighter today.

- A little bit lighter now.

Awkward hug?

- It doesn't have to be awkward.

Don't make it weird.

- I love you.

Have some of these
personal demons

kinda been barriers between
you and other people,

other performers,
close relations?

- Well my sobriety, honestly,

in the grand scope
of like my life

has only been like
a shorter journey.

It's only been about four years.

So there's a still a lot that
I'm still trying to adjust to.

This whole experience has pushed

a lot of that to the forefront.

You come face-to-face
with a lot of shit.

You have to kind of
like jump head-in

and accept people as they come

and just kind of like learn.

- Priscilla, were
you concerned at all

coming here that your
sobriety was so fresh

that being in this
kind of environment

could threaten your sobriety?

- No.

You know honestly, I knew what
I was getting myself into.

I was just mostly worried
about how I would come across

and how I would react
to certain people.

Because I was like you know,

no one's gonna understand
what I've been through

and what I'm going through.

Addiction is very, very
alive in our community.

Like I said if we
can help one person,

then we did something right.

And drag has become
my new addiction.

That's what I'm takin'
away from this competition

and I just can't thank
all of you enough

and especially you two for
really truly saving my life.

- Thank you for saying that.

I think you need to give
yourself a lotta credit too

because you don't
just get things.

You have to work for them.

This situation is difficult.

But if you're
dealing with sobriety

or you're trying to stay clean

and you're in this kind
of like emotional vortex,

that can be very triggering.

I mean honestly,
congratulations to both of you.

- Thank you very much.

- On the other side
of the spectrum,

Dollya seemed to come
into the competition

with a lot of resources
and very well-prepared

and I know there were
some moments of tension

between you two.

Did the factor of resource

or where you guys
were kinda coming from

play into that tension at all?

- You'll have to
ask Miss Priscilla

because I didn't direct
the energy at her.

It was more so directed at me.

- Do you think that
had something to do
with your tension?

- All of us as entertainers,

we all get jealous
of each other.

I don't care what anyone says.

This is what we do.

Since when as drag queens,

since when have
we ever had money

and since when have
we ever been nice?

- So you've accepted
her apology.

- Oh yes, I never had
an issue with Priscilla.

I always loved her and
her characterization.

She always cracks me up.

I'm happy to be here with her.

Like she knows I fuckin'

- I guess I do now

I wanna ask Louisianna
how does it feel

to come so close to the top
and how are you feeling now?

- Honestly, I feel very
disappointed in myself.

I feel like I've failed.

- Really?

- I came here to win.

I did not win, thus
that is a fail.

I owe everything to drag

and I feel like I
disappointed myself.

I've been consistently good,

but what stopped me
from being great?

And I can't answer that

and I guess that's
why I still feel like

some disappointment about it.

- I think you need to hear this.

Does anyone think
Louisianna is a failure?

- Oh no.
- Absolutely not.

- I'm shocked, honestly.
- Fuck no.

- I don't wanna hear any
more talk about that.

- You were always so
close to the heart

of everybody's moments,

whether that be their
celebrations or their pain.

You always seemed to
kinda be right there

to kind of share that
with the entire cast.

I really feel like you know,

you're very close to the
heartbeat of this season.

- I'm a strong person

and I think those who have
seen a lot of darkness

are the kindest.

because you know
what pain is like

and you know what
darkness is like

and I know what
darkness is like.

It's not closed off my heart.

It's made my heart bigger.

And again, like I genuinely
just fucking love you all.

- And to be part of this
is like, it's a dream.

It's a goddamn dream.

Amazing performers.

- We're kinda hoping

it was a little bit
more like a nightmare,

but I guess I'll

but I got even more
family while I was here

in that I have a new daughter.

I have a daughter
as a cast member.

Priscilla Chambers has

and I said yes

and I couldn't be
fuckin' prouder of her.

How are you feeling?

I came here with the intention

of just showcasing my
art through the lens,

the beautiful artistic
lens of the show.

My intention was always
focused on every challenge.

Just make it to the next one,

make it to the next one,
make it to the next one

with intention of
getting to the top three

with intention of winning.

But my focus was always do
this, do it at your best.

It's been such a great time

and I can't speak anything
negative about this experience.

- Oh wow, that's fantastic.

- That is great to hear.

Even though we do our best to

give you at least
one or two things

to kinda hate us
for a little bit.

But no, we do like to hear that.

- You know, one
thing I wanna ask you

is that you didn't seem
to have any conflict

with anybody per se.

Was that just your
personality is to avoid?

'Cause I don't know,

sometimes I see you
could be confrontational

and sometimes not.

So I was curious if it
was sort of a strategy

or was it just you being you?

- One of the things that I live
by is I live and understand

that we are all
created by energy

and we are given a
certain amount of energy

and I choose what I
put my energy into.

It's a limited amount, so
I need to be very specific

about what choices I
put my energy into.

And negative things
don't deserve my energy.

So if someone is playing
bullshit with me,

I tend to let it go
because it's not worth it.

But when it's put at
either like a high platform

or really stupid and ignorant,

that's when I can't
shut up about it

because I love to put
ignorant-ass people
in their place.

And no one came for me because
they didn't have a reason to.

- Drag kings don't have the
platform that drag queens do

and they don't have the same
opportunities performing live.

And I think it'll mean
something to a lotta people

to see you on the show.

Do you have anything
you would want to say

to other drag kings out there
that maybe are struggling

to find their place in
a male-dominated scene?

- Any success that you've felt

as an assigned female at
birth person in that culture,

tap into that success and
bring that to the stage.

Bring that through your art.

Don't let anyone tell you

that you don't deserve
that stage time,

that you don't deserve
to share the stage

with any level of performer.

Every person deserves
to be on stage.

Art is for everyone.

There are no rules.

If someone tells you there are,

break them 'cause
they're imaginary.

- And Dollya too,

you seem to be sorta quiet
behind the scenes as well.

But behind closed doors,

you had a little more
to say about everyone.

Why did you feel it was
hard to express yourself

in person in the beginning.

- Well okay, so I had a fear
of being a bitch coming in.

When I first got here,

I just didn't feel close
enough with anybody

to even like jokingly read them.

My humor's just really dry.

So I felt like if I tried
to like necessarily go in

and like be shady or
whatever and joke with that,

it would be too intense.

- You had said you felt
like you were being

like a passive-aggressive bitch

and that you overcame something.

What was happening there?

Like can you tell
us more about that?

- I kinda lost this certain
edge that I had had for a while.

It just finally
started to click again

and it was like you have no
reason to walk on egg shells.

You have no reason
to not speak up.

If it pisses you off, say it.

If you feel like it, say it.

If you don't feel
like it, don't.

But don't give a fuck.

Be passionate about what
you're passionate about

and be silent about what
you wanna be silent about.

But do it at your discretion

because you want to, not
because you're afraid.

- Do you all feel like
you saw a change in Dollya

while she was here or no?

- Yeah, I haven't
heard about Orlando

in a couple weeks,
so that was nice.

(all chuckling)

I do feel like you came in

feeling that you
had like a legacy

to save with the Haus of Black
and you did use that a lot

in your commentary to
us on and off-camera.

And I think you shed
that tie to making sure

that you're just
resolving something

with your family's non-victory

and you're really doing
it for yourself now.

- I thought that it would
be cutesy at the beginning.

But then I realized after I
was putting in all the work,

this is my crown
that I'm working for.

Like I love my family, but this
is my crown I'm working for.

Victoria had her opportunity.

She's made her legacy.

She's made her impact and
it's like now it's my time.

Like it's my turn.

I want to.

Do you feel guilty
about that on any level?

- No.

No, I don't.

I know that they all love me

and sometimes you have
to like let people fly.

They just wanna see
me succeed in life

and that's what
family's supposed to do.

It's supposed to support you
and just want you to succeed

in whatever that means.

close to winning.

Do you see anything that
would get in your way

in a similar fashion
that you won't be able

to overcome to win?

- Myself.

archetypes of Dragula

and I feel like I
fulfill those three,

so I wanna showcase

make everything from scratch.

Everything has been
customized and made by me.

I've put my heart and soul
into every wig, every garment.

every prosthetic.

And so I'm not gonna lie,

no one said my name.

even though I am
disappointed by that,

I'm still confident and
it's still 100% what I want.
