- Unfortunately
I think it's time

to say goodbye to Hollow.

I think she's just really
struggled with finding

her art in the limitations
of this competition.

- Hollow's definitely gone.

Confident in that, it's time.

We all know it's time.

We're all ready for it.

Like, no one wants
to even go home.

- fucking Evah was in the
bottom which I personally

was like-
- Good.

- Yeah, right, yeah, yeah!

She got so many prizes.

Good, I hope she, you know.

- I just love that none
of us were scared for Evah

when she went into
the extermination,

because I think that all--
- Because she's a bomb bitch,

I'm sorry.

She's going to be fine.

I personally am Team Hollow.

- Personally, my opinion
on the extermination is--

- What's up, fuckers?

- Exactly!

- I walk into the room and I
see everybody's face light up

and I'm just so, so, so
thankful that I'm still here.

I absolutely adore Hollow,

but I just felt her
slipping away slowly

throughout the competition.

It was really eating at her.

By the time that we
competed I could just see

that look in her eyes.

Knowing that she
just admitted defeat.

- I think that you have to
be able to take critiques

in order to win
this competition.

The way she talks about
her drag sometimes is

as if all of us are too
stupid to understand it,

if we're not able
to break it down.

At the end of the day,
we're all just entertainers

and we're here to entertain

and do our part and
showcase our art

and no one's better
than anybody else.

- If you don't think that
you're better than everyone,

why are you here?

- Well, always
arguing with critiques

and making it about
something that it's not

is really frustrating, too,

because we're all
getting critiques,

it has nothing to
do with your gender.

Very frustrating.

- I would disagree with a
lot of what you just said.

Her art always has
a powerful message,

and there's nothing
that she goes on stage

without the message

and the message is what
is important to her.

Some of us don't do that,

some of us are
just about the look

and about the
performance of the looks.

- I feel like the message
though sometimes got blurred

because it's like she would go
from talking about one thing

and then before you know
it, ten minutes later,

she's screaming
about capitalism.

And she sounded like
she was screaming

about her own
personal vendettas,

rather than being to
comfort somebody else.

And the whole point of being
a voice is being effective

with your communication, so
people can be exposed to it,

because exposure
leads to tolerance,

tolerance to acceptance.

- People that make change,

don't do it lying
down or a calm way.

People that make
change are radical

and do it with fierce volume.

She stayed true to her message.

She went down in flames,

and I just think it was
the unfortunate downfall

of not being able to compromise.

Like Drac said, every time
we're not critiquing your art,

we're critiquing how you
apply your art to the show,

and I really think
that there was where

she struggled to find it.

- She also found herself
unwavering in being able

to take critiques because
she thought it was perfect

in its message.

- I think it's import
to take critiques.

Not to change your drag,

because that's not
they're trying to do,

but I think it's important

as insight for what
they're looking for.

- If anyone understands
that, about taking critiques,

it's me.

The first challenge,
being in the bottom,

I was like fuck no.

I listened to every
single word they said,

and they were like, amp it up.

And I've taken every single
critique they've given me

and have applied it.

Because I did not come
here to stay stagnant.

- Thank you.

- And to not progress,

but you know what's going
to make you a winner?

You listen to that critique

and you apply it through
the lens of your drag

and I know, yeah, you're
giving me this critique

in regards to my
drag on this show.

In the realm of this show,
this is what you need to do

to succeed and I would be a
goddamn idiot not to take it.

- And you know, regardless
of all the opinions

on her message or
how intense she was,

Dragula has made such
a powerful movement,

and including her and myself

and to break down
all of those walls

and to show that
anyone can do drag,

anyone can be a monster,

anyone can do this,

anyone can take it all
the way to the end,

and it really is
because of this platform

and the ways that we
have to appreciate.

Hollow was a fantastic
example of an A-fab Queen

and I'm honored
to be a part of it

and I'm honored to
be in this project

that brought us all together.

- Sometimes in the pursuit
of drag monster status,

a visit to the
hospital is required.

- Oh!

- Whether it be a nip or a
tuck to perfect your glamor,

or just to stitch up the
damage you've sustained

during the competition.

- Either way, we're big fans
of an operating theater,

and have nothing but respect
for the world of sutures

and scalpels.

- For some people, the hospital
can be a very scary place,

and that's why we love it.

- This week we're asking
you to head into surgery

and create a look suitable
for our hospital of horrors.

(cheering and clapping)

- We'll be going on location,

to a real live haunted hospital,

where you'll be modeling
your looks for photographers

and editors from
Alternative Press Magazine.

The monster with the best
photos will win the challenge

and a two-page photo
spread in an upcoming issue

of Alternative Press.

- I want to read this.

- We see these AP
Magazines there,

with a story from
the Boulet Brothers

and we're getting
to really find out

what they've been
through in life

and all their struggles,

and I can immediately relate.

- "I can remember as a child,

"my dad saying there were
only two things I could

"that would make him disown me.

"Turn out gay or
become a drug addict."

- Reading the Boulets'
letter in AP Magazine,

really showed a lot
about their history,

and made a lot of sense as
to why they've worked so hard

at giving us the
platform that's Dragula.

- "I've never forgotten
what it felt like

"to not have a place though.

"So the events I create, the
community I help cultivate,

"and the show I am part
of, I provide that thing

"I desperately
needed as a child.

"A window and weird flowerbed
where seedlings are allowed

"to grow anyway
that they choose."

- So poetic.

- Those were both so beautiful.

That definitely
hits close to home,

especially Dracmorda's letter,

'cause I grew up in
very, rural South.

A town of about 500 people.

I remember getting really sick,

I was having flu-like symptoms

and I was 16

and my mom having to bring
me to a medical clinic.

The physician that was there
started asking me questions

and then it immediately,
once she heard my voice

and how I looked,

went to, well have
you had sex with men?

Have you had unprotected
sex with men?

And I'm like, "No."

And they wanted to run blood
tests to see if I was HIV+

and whenever the
physician left out,

my mom looked at me

and she pointed her finger
right in my face and said,

"If you have AIDS,
when we get home

"you're getting the
fuck out of this house

"and I'm not
helping you at all."

And I just remember
feeling like, fuck.

Like, okay, not
even my mom cares

and I wasn't positive,

I actually was the beginning
stages of Lyme disease,

which we got treated.

But I didn't have a
queer community for
a really long time,

and when I moved to
Austin I found one,

and drag saved my life.

It really did.

I was so under the
thumb my whole life,

either through my
parents or religion.

I didn't start living my life

until I was fucking 36 years old

and I started drag when I
was 36 fucking years old

and now I'm 42 and these
have been the most amazing,

best years of my life

because I found a community

and I have family and
friends that support my work

and support me as a person

and I'm fucking amazing.

- Yeah.
- Yeah you are!

- An amazing person and
an amazing drag queen.

My only regret is
waiting so long.

- Sometimes parents do change

and they grow and they realize,

like my mom carries,

I'm sorry, I haven't talked
about my mom in a while,

I really miss her.

My mom carries a guilt,
such a strong guilt,

she feels so terrible for
what she put me through,

and my dad, too.

And they both come
to my shows now.

Sometimes pursuing your
family, it can help them grow

and they can become
better people.

- You're very, very fortunate,

because it doesn't
always happen that way.

My parents will
never see me perform.

And they're older now, too,

and they both have
health issues.

So yeah, that has to be
something that I let go of,

is their approval,

and I'm alive when I'm on stage,

and it's the first time
I've ever felt alive,

truly alive in my life.

And to know that they will
never be privy to any of that,

it's a hurt

But I just put on my
fucking bra strap,

fucking put on that wig,

and I go out there
and fucking serve it.

- That's right.

- Because that's what I do

and that's what
I was made to do.

- [Landon] Right.

- And I think that's why we
cling onto our drag personas

so much because
that's the one person

that will never leave us.

- Queer people have a strength,

you can see it in their face

because we've had to go
through a lot of fucking shit

in this world.

- Louisianna finally
opens up to all of us,

and she shares that her
life did not get started

until she was in her mid-30s.

I think this is finally her
time to open up and share,

what was going on with her

and I think this is only
going to make her stronger,

and it's going to rise
her to do the fuckng top.

- Drag really saved my life,

and I'm so fortunate to be here

with these amazing performers

and to share my drag
and just share my story.

And this shows,
too, that, you know,

everyone's like Dragula,
ooh, spooky queens,

and they're tough
and they're rough

and gross, but this show
has such a heart, too.

It might be a black heart
that's beating underneath-

- Also, like, we're really,
really fucking beautiful, too.

- Hospital of horrors.

I really do not like hospitals.

- So you're afraid of hospitals?

- I got my feet cut up
really, really badly

in a boat propellor.

- I had 40 stitches.
- My fucking god!

- I got a needle
through my finger.

(laughing)

- [Evah] Choices.

- All right, ladies and
gentlemen, are we ready?

- Is it that time?

- We're ready.
- Ready to get this shit

crack-a-lacking.

- Let's get ooky, spooky!

- My inspiration is the sexy
female element of horror movies

and the demonic killers
of horror movies.

I'm going to play with the
juxtaposition of beauty

and gore and have it
be like super classic,

like throwback, swoop thing.

You want to tease in
the opposite direction

that you're intending to
style, so in this case,

because the bang went this way,

I teased this way and then
I smoothed out the bang

to make it gorgeous.

(whip sound)

- My inspiration for my
hospital of horrors comes from

a lot of experience in
hospitals both personally

and close family members.

And I always have this
feeling that western medicine

is chasing intelligence and
knowledge instead of really

trying to help people.

I'm using a lot of tubes that
are coming out of my body,

so I have this putty that I'm
molding around these tubes

so that I can then glue
them to my body where I need

and smooth the edges down

once I'm getting into my drag.

- My inspiration for my
hospital of horrors look

is pulling a lot from
Shutter Island and my realm,

the Doctor is
obsessed with leaches,

and so he's creating
this perfect woman

that's part leach,
part beautiful girl.

Right now this entire thing
was hand molded and sculpted

and then cast in silicone,

so now I'm just adding the
little teethies to the end.

- I kind of want to do a mad
cow disease kind of thing,

and then I'm obsessed

with one of the old
school horror movies,

Eraserhead, and so I'm going
to try and incorporate a baby,

into mine, like they injected
me with cow splooge

and then out came a
baby out of my udder.

- My inspiration for
my look comes from

a lot of horror video games.

I used a lot of expandable foam

and then painted over it
to give you this swollen,

parasitic, attachment
growing out of my skull

and then it's going
to come down my arm.

I wanted to be somebody
who was trapped

and experimented on and
this is the result of it.

- So I am working on
one of my accessories.

One of my favorite
aesthetics is really cute

and outwardly beautiful,
but seriously creepy inside.

So I'm burning this
beautifully distressed rabbit,

by setting it on fire.

Everyone loves fire.

I probably shouldn't
be inhaling,

but you know, it's
Dragula right?

and stitching together
a hospital horror look

that stops hearts dead.

Our monstrosities
then went on location,

to an abandoned hospital
to model against each other

in a head-to-head
photo shoot challenge.

- In addition to
tonight's floor show,

the judges will also have to
decide which of our Dragzillas

were able to deliver the
strongest photo of the evening.

- Poetically, the winner
of tonight's challenge

will win a feature spread in
Alternative Press Magazine,

to showcase to the world
their malignant majesty.

was a little intimidating, but
I got myself a good picture.

photo shoot where I bring out

my pink brain sludge
and I feel horrifying.

going really well.

The photographer is amazing.

I am killing this photo shoot.

because I thrive when it
comes to photo shoots.

I knocked this photo shoot

off with Louisianna Purchase.

look at Louisianna's photo.

- I have to say that
this Pepto dismal pink

was a real relief from
what I saw tonight.

I think this character
is cute and you had a lot

of sadistic little
tricks up your sleeve.

I do have some criticism,

those guts, that liver,
whatever was in that box,

you brought us to kind of crazy,

I wanted you to bring us
to psychotically maddening.

- Did you want her to eat it?

- If you did, I
would have gagged.

I would have loved
it and gagged.

- [Louisianna] I
would have, too!

- Strangle marks
were a nice touch,

you could see this strangled,
murdered, candy striper

haunting the hospital.

Really good concept.

- Louisianna, I really
loved your look.

Took great direction

and I was blown away
by what you delivered.

You just looked stunning.

- Thank you so much.

- The moment you walked on
stage, I was instantly attached

to your character.

I loved the color
and I loved the story

that you were telling

and I thought it
was really cool.

to Landon Cider.

- All right, Landon,
let's look at your photo.

- [Dollya] Come on, slime.

- I really liked it.

I had this whole story
pictured in my mind

that you were this doctor
that wanted to get smarter

and smarter and you
started going mad for it

and you're doing
lobotomies on your patients

so you'd be smarter than them.

And I just had this clear image

and I thought it was
really well done.

- Thank you.

- Seriously, my
hat's off to you.

My brain's out to you.

(laughing)

Can you tell me about
the book a little bit?

- I painted this book myself.

It was the supposed to be a
kind of foreshadow moment,

where it's hunger
for intelligence

and then I end up
eating my own brain.

- Drag her, Paige.

- All right, I'm so sorry,

but there is a
little irony to this.

You actually misspelled
intelligence.

- Um, it was not a
choice I made on purpose,

but I'm kind of into it now,

because I think I'm
going to make a t-shirt

and capitalize on the moment.

- Genius.

You're just so solid.

I think this is Landon
Cider at your strongest,

at your most inspired.

Every detail is just
meticulously thought out

and spent time on.

And not just time you spent.

I get this idea that you
enjoyed the entire process.

Let's move on to Dollya Black.

Let's take a look
at your best photo.

- Oh my fucking god.
- Yes!

- I think the consensus
was that you gave one of,

if not the strongest,
photos of the night.

- The way you
contorted your body,

your torso, your legs, I mean,
you were almost on your head.

It made for an
amazing photo shoot.

- I really liked the look,

but I was distracted by the
underwear you were wearing.

It kind of took me
out of it a bit,

other than that I
really liked it.

- I didn't start getting ready
today as the other girls did,

it was my own fault.

I wasn't prepared.

- Not to be shady, but
these are the things

that nobody cares about.

No one gives a shit,

because you can never give that
disclaimer to your audience.

- I am petrified that these
fucking purple underwear

are going to put
me in the bottom.

Underwear.

In the bottom for underwear.

- Can you imagine after
all this being exterminated

over purple bloomers?

(laughing)

- So we're going to move
on to Priscilla Chambers.

- Priscilla, let's
look at your photo.

- [Everyone] Oh!

- I thought that you had
a really good concept,

but I felt like you were
being upstaged by the calf.

You were almost using it as a
crutch and you were not going

as far as I think
you should have gone.

- Honestly, with such
a big facial piece,

I had a very hard time pulling

any of your facial expressions.

And it seemed like you might
be struggling a little bit

with that during the shoot.

- Priscilla, don't have a cow,

but we didn't love
the execution tonight.

- Holy shit.

- The prosthetic needs work.

This belly needs the same skin
tone as your own skin tone

and maybe a little
bit of attention

to the way it
adheres to your body.

Conceptually, I
think, really strong.

The execution, kind
of on the weak side.

- Can we talk about
the calf a little?

I just need to be
clear about this.

Just tell us about where
the calf came from.

- The calf was a stillborn.

I like the idea of
preserving beauty after death,

and so I brought
my little baby out

and tried to give her life
some more time on the stage.

Nothing was killed, it
is entirely cruelty free.

It is all naturally found.

- I just want to be clear

that obviously we don't
advocate any animal cruelty

in any way.

In fact, we're the
exact opposite.

We love animals and
hate people, so.

- Exactly.

And moo-ving on,
Evah Destruction.

Let's have a look at your photo.

- Yes!
- Oh yes bitch!

C'mon wheelchair!

- I had a bit of an issue with
some of the blood splattering

and the splatters on
the bottom of the dress.

It doesn't seem like it
would logically get there

without it being also in that
same spot in your tights,

and I feel like that
really took me out of it.

- Just so you know, you can
see Milly on CSI next season.

- Milly just read
me for my tights.

I'm actually gagged right now.

- I'll have to
say, conceptually,

maybe not one of the strongest
things we've seen tonight,

but your performance I think,
your strength is absolutely

your ability to perform.

The fungal growths,
particularly around your head,

it looks just like
it's plopped on.

You might want to play with
the treatment of the hair

to show a lot of
less growth there.

- I was impressed and scared
that you were screaming

so loudly,

but I really enjoyed
the energy you brought

to the photo shoot
and to the stage.

I couldn't keep my eyes off you.

- I do want to say though,
you get extra points

for striking fear into the
guest judges, so, good job.

- Just because of you and the
concepts you've been bringing,

so far,

I was underwhelmed by
this concept and look.

I think you could sell
it a little better.

That brings us to
Maddelynn Hatter.

Let's see your photo.

- Maddelyn, at the photo
shoot I was really impressed

with how well you know your
body and know your face.

As much as I loved
your photo shoots,

because you're beautiful,

I wasn't sold on your character.

- I wasn't too sure
about your concept.

I really liked the jacket.

I thought that was really cool,

but once you took it off it
was just the white jumpsuit

and I wanted more.

- Agreed.

Concept probably a D.

It's low, and at this
point in the competition,

you don't want to take risks

unless you know you can nail it.

It's going to stick out.
