He has been pushy in the past.

But that has nothing to do with

how he feels about Hope.

He's completely devoted to her.

>> Ridge: Hope wouldn't have

accepted Thomas' proposal if she

weren't ready.

>> Brooke: She accepted Douglas'

proposal, and that's what this

is all about for Hope -- her

compassion for a young boy who

lost his mother.

She doesn't love Thomas.

>> Ridge: Well, they will love

each other by the time they're

married.

>> Brooke: You don't engaged

when you don't love somebody.

I mean, that's just strange,

especially if you're not in it

for the right reason.

>> Ridge: They are in it for the

right reason.

I don't think Thomas can offer

that this is a very long

>> Douglas: I saw the ghost

There's no ghosts under the bed.

>> Douglas: But it was right

It's not coming back.

And now that Hope and I are

There's no reason for the ghost

animals.

And they all wanted to play and

have fun with him.

could table this and you would

crawl into bed with me?

>> Brooke: [ Sighs ]

I could do one of those things.

>> Ridge: Yes. Come on.

[ Sighs ] Hi.

Now, I know we're fighting but

are there rules to maybe, um, us

doing other stuff while we're

fighting, or...?

>> Brooke: Ridge, I know you

love your son and you want him

to have --

>> Ridge: I want him to have

what we have.

>> Brooke: Well, he'll never

have that because Hope doesn't

have feelings for him.

>> Ridge: How does she not have

feelings for him?

She's wearing his ring!

She made a commitment.

>> Brooke: A ring doesn't make a

marriage work.

remembered how much work this

son to be married to somebody

that has feelings for somebody

Hope still hasn't gotten over

Liam.

She loves him, and she always

He's her soul mate.

>> Steffy: Liam, I get that you

still care about Hope, but, you

know, she encouraged you to move

on, to be here with Phoebe and

Kelly.

And now Hope's moving on with

Thomas, and I get that that's

not easy for you.

I just want her to be happy.

>> Steffy: Then let Thomas make

her happy.

>> Liam: It just feels so...

forced, though.

>> Steffy: I don't know.

I don't know, I think --

Okay, I think, like, Thomas is

seeing the bigger picture,

and maybe you don't, you know?

He envisions his life with Hope,

how wonderful it could be,

especially for his son.

Okay, so that's the thing.

I'm not convinced that Thomas is

doing all of this for Douglas.

No, I know that you are, but...

>> Steffy: His son will always

be his first priority.

Everything is with Douglas' best

interest.

He's a gentle, loving father,

and he will do anything

to keep his son happy and safe.

>> Hope: Douglas was terrified.

>> Thomas: Yeah, you --

You definitely knew how to calm

him down.

>> Hope: Well, when I heard him

screaming, I thought he might be

hurt.

That must have been really scary

for you.

I predict no more ghosts.

I mean, that story about the

squirrel?

>> Hope: Chipmunk.

>> Thomas: Yeah. Right. He --

He really loved that.

>> Hope: He's a wonderful little

boy.

>> Thomas: You're ready for

this, Hope.

It's clearer than ever.

I mean, and you are --

you're ready to be his mother.

And you're ready to be my wife.

>> Ridge: I wish this wasn't

weighing so heavily on you.

either, but my daughter's

well-being is at stake.

Liam tried, but it -- it didn't

work, and maybe Thomas is the

answer.

being with Thomas is going to

fix her.

I'm worried it's going to do the

opposite.

>> Ridge: It doesn't matter if

we're worried or not, it's just

And a good doctor friend of mine

said that worrying is bad for

your health, and whenever you

do, you should start making out

with whoever you're in bed with.

>> Brooke: Yeah? Really?

>> Brooke: Hmm?

>> Ridge: Mmm.

>> Brooke: [ Sighs ] I couldn't

help myself.

kissing me, or worrying about

your daughter.

She annulled the marriage.

Like it or not, that chapter of

her life is over.

life with my brother, and I know

they're getting married.

He's being so aggressive, using

Douglas.

She wouldn't have accepted a

Okay, you're right.

She's not a pushover, but...

She wants to be there for

Douglas, and she feels like

that's gonna make the pain go

away for both of them.

But she's wrong. It's not.

>> Steffy: Hope and Douglas have

helped each other so much.

of obvious that she wants to be

his step-mom, you know, make it

official.

I can just see how Thomas is

driving this whole thing, how

he's pressuring Hope so he can

get what he wants.

However you want to look at it,

our family's getting even

closer.

So maybe you can just try to

accept it, maybe support Hope

and Thomas.

Just be happy for them.

hear you tell Douglas you wanted
