Well, great. Um, we are all here today

to discuss how these amazing actors with disabilities

have been taking the film and television industry by storm,

um, which is fantastic, so I think,

um, you know, let's go ahead and get started.

I think my first question-- And this is for all of you...

95% of disabled characters in film and television

are played by able-bodied actors.

There's always a reason that they give.

It's they needed a name,

or they couldn't find anyone,

or, "Isn't that what acting is all about?"

I went to every network,

and they were just baffled.

They just didn't know what to do

with individuals with disabilities.

But I didn't give up. I just kept going

and knocking those doors down,

and it's all about educating them

and letting them know that this can happen to anyone,

and we are real. This is how we live our life.

Yeah, a-and sometimes even when I know I sucked,

some people are just like, "Oh, my God!

"That's-- That's beautiful!

"It was amazing!" And I'm like, "No,

"that was horrible. Just be honest. I--I can handle it."

I just follow, most of the time.
