I myself have been in that position many times,

and I'm going to bring in a guest

today to give him a few tips and tricks

about how to deal with those nerves,

and hopefully that will help him for the day to come.

I didn't think about spice bags,

Because one of the big things with feeling

nervous before a match or something like that

is you think you're the only one.

We're all feeling it. We're all in it together.

We're all going to probably make mistakes.

Throw your hand up if you're willing

to back one of your teammates up if they make a mistake.

You're not going to be doing something

at all moments during the game today.

Is that fair to say? So there'll be loads of gaps where you can

support your teammates and you can back them up.

So when one of your teammates maybe makes an error,

it's how you speak to them or how you go,

"Listen, we got this, we're grand."

Me on match day is very different to what I was younger.

The excitement and the nervousness got the better of me.

So I was always ready to go, ready to explode.

But now it's just, I don't know if it comes with age,

but I tend to have a more focused, calmer aura about me.

So I don't let the moment take over.

I thought one of them might have had a panic attack.

I understand Croke Park is a big deal,

but never really knew what it was.

Then when you're there, you start to cop onto it.

So I'm a little bit worried going into this now.

I'm really nervous because I feel like the pressure

will get to me because so

many people there and I'll pitch really bad or something.

It's such a different atmosphere than walking out in any other field.

You're just in there and all you focus on is your own game.

So it was something I think they'll always remember.

To be able to go toe to toe

with the All-Ireland champs is absolutely amazing.

No matter the end score,

it's about the companionship they've built together.

To be able to play as a team and have such

a great performance, I couldn't be prouder of them.

I think they drew the second inning, so that was phenomenal.

Nothing they could have expected.

And after the way the first inning went,

I think it was a great comeback.

I know as things went on,

maybe the last inning pulled away a little bit,

but the score didn't matter to them, I don't think, at that point.

That was very good. I don't know why

I felt like that's the time when all the lads

and me bonded together like a band of brothers.
