The big game isn't far away

and the lads are really making great progress.

But I'm worried they're getting a bit too confident,

so it's time to push them out of their comfort zone.

I feel like they're kind of grasping the basics of the game.

But, erm, I feel like maybe tactics-wise,

knowing when you need to run three bases, when to stay,

when to throw balls in certain places,

kind of that set of tactics that work and plays,

that is kind of the next big thing we need to work on.

I think in general boys slag other boys for dancing,

it's just because they wish they could do it themselves,

I just, like, felt with the dancing I knew I could do it

cos I do it at school theatre.

so I just felt like I kind of got the hang of it really quickly.

The lads have been training really well over the last days or so.

They've kind of been in a real focus bubble there,

working really well so.

And they had a lot more experience than the guys,

Jordan kind of showed a bit of a competitive streak.

getting a bit frustrated with the lads too,

because they were joking and messing

where they should've been concentrating,

and making silly mistakes,

but it was good to see and I think they'll learn a lot from it.

Winning makes it stressful,

winning doesn't make it nice on my end in my opinion.

So you've gotta try and stuff, but...

sometimes if you try too hard and it doesn't work out

everyone will be angry and that just doesn't make it good.

I know Jordan and a few others weren't very happy with the score,

personally,

I was happy.

I didn't think we played bad.

and we did, we did okay.

It was an okay game and I learned a lot from it, so

Obviously the girls are very good at batting the ball,

and they didn't really miss it too much.

So I felt like I was just kind of standing there really,

and I didn't really like it.

So I asked if I could go play outfield.

So I know we've had Darragh as the pitcher from the start,

but we kind of decided maybe it'd be time to give Asher his chance,

and throw him at the deep end.

Well, I think if someone's' trying their best and it is,

can't judge them.

when something just wasn't going right for me,

I just got into my own head,

Well, it seemed like he just got frustrated with himself.

For me it is important that everyone gets involved,

but also I know the lads are very competitive,

and they wanna win, so,

you know, do I put the strongest team forward?

But, you know, it's just trying to find out the right,

you know, mix of chemistry to make it work.

Darragh, he's a very good pitcher

and I know that if I was

having to pitch after someone like that

you know, it'd be very... you'd put a lot of pressure on yourself.

And I think that's just what happened with Asher, really.

You know, if he hit a bad ball or anything,

he put his head down straight away.

Yeah, so, in my sport,

I've never been the best player on the team.

I always make mistakes when I play football, I make...

I miss shots in basketball,

and I'm just... I'm never as good as anyone else.

Well, it doesn't make me too sad,

cos I'm kind of used to not being the best.

But, like, I feel...

it kind of helps me motivate to get a bit better and try more.

My brother's 26 and my sister's 20.

Literally yesterday in the car

I was talking to my dad about something and she said,

I also was always kind of brought down

by other people back in primary school.

I was told, like, I can't be good at sport

because I was... I was overweight.

So that's kind of just left like a mark on me.

talk about things like me and you are talking about, or

is that something... Like, I showed them

what I looked like before I lost a lot of weight,

and talked about my mum,

but that was really... They were really nice about it,

they wouldn't really say to you much about it,

because I knew it was like a hard subject for me,

so we just kind of passed on after.

So she recently had chemotherapy,

to help counteract the cancer.

She normally feels quite sick,

but she actually felt quite well recently,

but it's probably gonna get worse overall.

She's just really been in bed most of the time.

Just kind of staying back home and doing, like, house stuff.

When I first found out I was really worried,

nervous and sad for my mum.

But once I realised that

it's not really life-threatening her type,

I don't... Well, that's what she's been saying to me.

She won't tell me the stage, so I don't go looking it up

and like see what it is,

but all I know is that she's doing fine at the moment,

and that hopefully, she'll stay doing fine.

I'm just like blown back by it.

You know, Asher just opened up to me and the lads around the table that,

just out of pure conversation,

that obviously his mum got diagnosed with cancer months ago,

and that he just mentioned that he had long hair,

but he shaved it all off

just in support of his mum.

And it was a lovely conversation though it was a little bit sad.

But I just kind of sat back

and just watched and...

as I said, they're amazing young men.

It's like an atmosphere but not really.

It's more that an atmosphere, it's...

It feels different.

It feels like

you're more than a team.

You're not brothers, but you're something else.

You're something in between a team and a family.

Thanks to Luke Byrne,

he's invited us to a football game, a local derby,

Shels versus Shamrock Rovers.

And we're just gonna be lads and have fun.

Boys, has anyone ever been to a Dublin derby

I was at Bohs versus Pats once.

There was loads of like the little pyros the little...

The little players. Yeah, there were loads of them.

And the atmosphere was brilliant.

There was a few scraps as well after the match.

Do you not think it gives us a bad image as young lads

if we're just being rowdy and violent for no reason

over a football game? What do you think of that?

Let's just say we start fighting and it gives us a bad image,

people start looking at us badly, like teenagers,

they're gonna be afraid of us,

but we might be the nicest boys.

If a gang of lads is walking down the street,

people are automatically going to assume the worst.

They might do that stuff so that they can...

Even if you like really like or don't really like sports,

you can still be friends.

and it's interesting to see

sport has that sort of tension between the fans.

I'm really delighted that they got to see the beauty of the game

what it was, I mean, that's what I wanted the lads to experience,

like, cos that's what football is about, and just sports.

At the end of the day, lads, you know, if you're 1-0 down

you just keep fighting no matter what it is,

it just kind of shows what it means and what you can do

if you just work hard and, you know,

just your teammates.

We were at the match today and it was really fun.

We got to meet Luke Byrne

and one of the strikers as well.

It was really fun, we got the autographs.

and we got a big picture.

I really enjoyed it.

It was just so fun, being there with the lads as well.

Even the food, the food was lovely.

The bus trip was great as well.

You know, it was just really nice all around.
