In order to rescue her,

the assassin would need to kill the Divine Beast.

But killing the Divine Beast

would make this assassin

the mortal enemy of all of Xuanwu.

The assassin survived the unrelenting onslaught

despite the disadvantage of carrying the wounded girl.

There was not one there who could defeat him.

Finally, in a crucial moment,

the girl took out a dagger that was coated in a strange poison

and stabbed the assassin in the back.

The assassin used the last of his strength to shatter the stone bridge below him.

He fell into the river

and disappeared.

The girl

had been arranged from the very start.

Meeting and becoming acquainted with the assassin

was all part of the plan.

You are a killing machine, and a superior one,

who was made with the sole purpose of protecting this nation.

Disposed of after use.

And subsequently replaced, as the next assassin takes your place.
