started out as just another day for the Pali family.

Yarden said goodbye to her parents like she did every morning,

walked to school like she did every morning,

attended all her classes,

went to volleyball practice after school at the community center as usual.

No one predicted the heinous act of violence

that was to happen that day in the gym storeroom

at the community center in Rosh HaAyin.

Yarden's life ended on the storeroom floor.

Her belongings were scattered, symbolizing a promise not to be fulfilled

because a person strangled her to death

and left her lifeless.

Yarden's murderer is violent, vicious and lacking in compassion.

There is no refuting that.

But we are charged with the task of determining once and for all

if that person is the appellant, Mr. Reuven Daloya.
