Love Is Sweet

Love Is Sweet

Episode 28

What's up?

Why can't you say it over the phone?

Du Lei came to see me.

He came to see you?

Why?

It seems you really don't know

I've been really busy lately.

And I haven't been in touch

with Du Lei in a while.

He came to me to make a deal,

saying that we should fight against Yuan Shuai together.

But I can't help thinking

there's something wrong with him.

What can he have problems with?

He had always regarded Yuan Shuai as his arch-rival.

In order to win over Yuan Shuai,

whatever he did is normal.

So what were you surprised about?

I was just surprised that

he wanted to work with you.

Who told him about C Group?

I'm to blame.

When I resigned from MH to work in GE,

in order not to make Jiang Yaoming suspicious,

I handed the case of Jiangnan Flavor

to Du Lei.

It just didn't occur to me that

he always thought I was taking advantage of him,

so I had to tell him something.

But don't worry.

I didn't say a word I shouldn't have.

That's good.

Linda, you have to understand that

Jiang Yaoming's death

is not like anything else.

It will be hard for both of us

if you don't take a firm stand.

What are you doing?

Pills, pills!

Pills!

Pills, pills!

Call an ambulance.

And

if you don't keep an eye on your brother,

I'll keep an eye on him.

He is so clever.

I don't trust him.

Have some tea.

Answer the phone!

Du Lei,

what the hell do you want?

Why did you betray my parents?

Why are you so serious?

Isn't that to make your play

look more real?

What happened?

Jiang Jun was locked in the elevator.

Luckily I got there in time,

and she didn't have any serious problems.

Who did it?

I checked the monitor.

It was an analyst in MH.

But I saw no reason

or need for her

to do such a thing to Jiang Jun.

It was Lin Taimo.

He may have thought that

the reason Jiang Jun tried to join MH

is to investigate her father's case,

so he tried to kill her.

In that case,

Mr. Jiang's death must not have been an accident.

What's on your mind?

I've been investigating Lin Taimo for years.

But this guy is so cunning.

I can hardly find anything negative about him.

I wanted to get hard evidence

and then reveal all the evidence of his guilt.

But I am afraid that he will do harm to Jiang Jun again,

so I have to make war on him at once.

Lin Taimo is a man with many enemies,

so he must have his own men

in MH and CSRC.

If you want to expose him

on the basis of the information you have,

you may be turned back

before it reaches the chairman's desk.

Of course I know.

That's why I haven't done anything.

But

it's not so easy to

get hard evidence.

He trusts Linda so much.

Can we start with her?

I have fallen out with her,

so she won't help me for the time being.

How about this?

We've been fighting for years in this circle,

and everyone knows it.

Why don't I surrender to Lin Taimo?

The enemy of your enemy can be your friend.

Who says I can't be friends with Lin Taimo?

You?

You think too little of Lin Taimo.

What will make him believe you?

So at this point,

we need someone unexpected

to cooperate.

Dr. Zhu of Chenxin Technology?

Isn't he a client of Yuan Shuai's?

How do you know

they traded power and money with each other?

I fought Yuan Shuai for three years.

Arguably, no one in the investment banking world

knows him better than I do,

except himself.

As for Dr. Zhu,

as long as we can give him

what Yuan Shuai can't,

he will certainly be of use to us.

Are you sure?

Of course.

Let him in.

Now that you've arrived,

I'm sure you know

why Du Lei asked you to come.

Yes.

To destroy Yuan Shuai.

You keep saying you want to destroy Yuan Shuai.

But where is the evidence?

I have the evidence.

I once borrowed some money from him.

That was a large amount of money.

I paid the money back this time through a private account.

There is no documentary evidence for this transaction.

That’s interesting.

Lin Taimo

may not have trusted me completely,

so he asked me to join MH.

I guess he's trying to keep an eye on me.

Secretary Bai was watching my flight.

But in order to avoid unnecessary mistakes,

we should start our plan as soon as possible.

Here's the information you asked for.

Jia Yuanji,

the only son of GE's Chairman.

He had been studying abroad before

Personal Profile of Jia Yuanji

and recently returned home.

He likes listening to music.

I’m told that he's been singing in the Bar Street lately.

And with his personality,

he's not particularly easy to get along with.

There's no one in the world

I can't deal with yet.

Yuan Shuai,

I may never get used to

your inexplicable confidence.

But I’ll warn you about one thing.

In this period of time,

Jiang Jun should not be allowed to

fall into the slightest bit of danger.

Also,

don't do anything inappropriate to her.

Otherwise,

I will not leave you alone.

Don't worry.

I am

not a man to take advantage of others.

Besides, about Jiang Jun,

I still have confidence.

But

she's already suspicious of me

because she doesn't believe you're corrupt.

So, Zhu Youyi…

It seems that our little sheep has become smarter.

Hello, Dr. Zhu.

What's the matter, Yuan Shuai?

Just say it this time.

This time, it's easier.

You only have to deal with one person.

She should be coming to you soon.

Rest assured.

My acting skills have become better and better

since last time.

I don’t even have to try.

You don't have to act this time.

There is only one thing you need to do.

That is, you know nothing.

All right, all right.

I'm not gonna say anything.

Hope Zhu Youyi

can withstand the pressure of Jiang Jun.

Chenxin Technology Co., LTD.

Dr. Zhu,

someone from MH has come

to show you the follow-up information on the financing plan.

Just say I'm not here

and give it to the finance office.

Dr. Zhu, are you going to appear from nowhere,

or just disappear from here?

Ms. Jiang,

what are you doing here?

You're in a good mood.

Playing games?

I know why you're here,

but I'm afraid I can't answer

any of your questions.

You misunderstood.

I'm here to present you the newly proposed

supervision plan of Chenxin after financing.

I see.

Thank you very much.

What kind of game are you playing?

I've just developed an motion sensing game

for the next step of the Internet of Things.

I'm trying out its sensitivity.

It looks interesting.

May I have the honor to experience it?

Really?

You want to play?

Ok, ok.

Just so you can help me with the test.

It’s good, Dr. Zhu.

You're good at the game.

Just so so.

Chenxin has also been on the rise recently.

I heard you won a prize a few days ago.

Congratulations!

Thank you very much!

But I really didn't expect

Yuan Shuai to be

so cynical and mercenary.

No. It’s not like that.

Obviously, he sees that your company is developing well

and wants to get a piece of the pie.

He's the scum of the investment banking world.

He isn’t. Don’t say that.

Really?

Could it be

you two acting together for someone else to watch?

No. It’s not like that, either.

Well… I…

I know nothing.

Ms. Jiang, don't ask anymore.

They won't let me say anything.

They?

Who are they?

I’m busy.

See yourself out.

Well… Anyone

can hand me the information?

And my design… is…

Since Dr. Zhu won't say anything,

I won't ask.

I'm leaving.

But,

thank you all the same.

What did I just say?

I didn't say anything.

She asked two questions.

But I didn't answer either of them.

Li,

are you at the West World? I’ll see you there.

No, I’m not. Why?

I have an emergency. I need to speak to Xiaochuan.

That’s ok.

I'll find him myself without you.

No, don’t!

Li Xiaochuan

is a little difficult for ordinary people to communicate with.

It's not like you don't know.

Well, I’ll go there with you.

Ok.

Jun has an important business,

so of course I will go with her.

But I don't want to see that man.

Not at all!

That’s it.

Xu Li,

why are you here?

It's okay. You don't have to panic.

I'm not looking for you.

Jun wants to see you.

Xiaochuan,

can you check for me

where Yuan Shuai is now?

Ok.

Xiaochuan,

tomorrow afternoon at 14:00 Beijing time,

help me

make the Internet Protocol addresses

of both my mobile phone and computer

in Tanzania.

Ok.

If Jiang Jun comes to you,

just say you don't know where I am.

If you have

your virtual Internet Protocol addresses ready,

show them to her.

But why?

Aren't you lying to her?

I can't tell you yet.

I'll explain to you when the time is right.

Yuan Shuai, Dodoma of Africa

Here.

It turns out he went to Africa.

It’s a long distance.

It turns out?

You knew he would go abroad?

He said he was going abroad,

but he didn't tell me where.

That's why

I said that.

But when I asked you this morning,

you clearly said he had not contacted you.

Yes.

You…

He didn't contact me when you asked,

but he did after you asked.

So…

Your statements are inconsistent.

There must be something wrong.

Are you going to tell me or not?

Africa.

So you are not going to tell me?

Li, let’s go!

Wait!

Xu Li,

I want to talk to you.

But I have nothing to say to you.

-Xu Li... -Well…

Well…

Before…

Before you ask me,

let me ask you a question.

Where is Yuan Shuai now?

If you don't tell me, I'll go.

Shanghai!

But…

Yuan Shuai is in Shanghai now!

You just betrayed your brother like that?

He just asked me not to tell you or anyone else.

Xu Li is no one else.

Where is Yuan Shuai now?

Li,

if he doesn't want to tell me, there must be a reason.

I’m leaving.

I think Xiaochuan has something to say to you in private.

What are you trying to say? Say it.

I'd like to apologize

for what you said last time.

Well, don't apologize.

It's not your problem that you don't like me.

It’s not your fault.

No.

Then do you like me?

I thought about it for a long time.

You

have low IQ

and average education.

We grew up in a different environment.

Our background, personality, and hobbies are also different.

Honestly,

sometimes I really don't understand what you're thinking.

And that's probably why

we're only a one-percent match.

But, I…

Is that what you're trying to say?

One percent.

One percent.

I know.

I

may not be

perfect enough

for you.

But,

would you mind

not stressing it over and over again?

I…

But…

Stop talking.

Mr. Li, I'm sorry to have bothered you.

I'll never come and see you again.

I…

But

I can't seem to stop myself

to like you.

Can you wait for me?

I want us to be

a one hundred percent match.

Zhendan

Hello, everyone.

I'm the lead singer and lead guitarist, Jia Yuanji.

We are

the Jixiangruyi Band.

Today we are going to present to you

a new song of ours,

Smash the Blue BMW.

♫ Want to act impulsively ♫

♫ And smash the blue BMW♫

♫ Don't blame me for being pompous♫

♫ Smash the blue BMW♫

What?

Mr. Ji,

I am begging you.

Please stop.

You see, I haven't got any guests here.

I won't allow it.

This is our band's tour.

Yes.

You…

Isn't there someone?

It’s not that.

How can I do business with only one customer?

I think his music sounds good.

You… You like it?

Yes.

Jixiangruyi Band, right?

I think your music is

very expressive.

It is full of cries of injustice to the world,

especially the condemnation and indictment

of the owner of the blue BMW.

It's very pretentious, naked,

and very real.

You get me, Sir!

Wait!

Do you know anything about music?

I've been running bars for so many years.

I've never heard such bad music.

How come it is expressive?

You’re terrific!

Sir.

Although I don't know much about music,

I think music is

an artistic tool to express one’s inner feelings

and his view of the world.

Jixiangruyi Band

is young, vigorous

and full of vitality.

We should encourage such bands.

Am I right?

Well said!

You really are my soul mate.

I finally found you.

Sir.

If anything happens to you in the future,

just let me know.

I’ll protect you.

You protect me?

Yes. I really like you.

Ok, then.

How about this?

You come home with me tonight,

and we can have a good discussion.

Ok.

Ms. Wang,

anything to eat? I’m starving.

The Chairman is on a video conference.

Sir,

if there's anything you want to eat, just tell Ms. Wang.

She is a good cook.

Anything will do. Thanks, Ms. Wang.

Ok.

Let’s go.

Are we going in now?

Go to my room and listen to my songs.

Ms. Wang.

Well,

no pepper for my midnight snack,

and no…

Keep your voice down.

-If my father hears us, we’re done. -I enjoy…

I enjoy a light meal.

You know you should get your ass back?

Dad.

You are so perceptive.

You heard me.

By the way, this is my friend.

His name is…

Yuan Shuai.

The executive director in the investment banking department of the rival firm.

What are you doing at my house at this hour?

Mr. Jia,

I want to tell you something

about the future

and reputation of GE.

I'm sorry to have bothered you.

Go back to sleep.

Dad, this is…

How can you…

I'll stop your credit cards if you don't go to bed now.

Meet me in my room later.

Please have a seat.

I've got everything you said.

If Linda is really involved in the insider trading

and investment corruption,

cleaning house

and maintaining GE's brand

are the right thing to do.

But you asked me to investigate Lin Taimo.

What good would it do to GE?

I know what you mean, Mr. Jia.

But now two senior executives of MH and GE

are committing crimes and making huge profits together.

Once they are caught,

it will be a matter of honor

or disgrace for all of us.

Now it is already difficult

for the industry to regulate corruption

in the private equity investments.

So, it can only rely on the moral consciousness

and strict self-examination of our securities practitioners.

So, Mr. Jia,

please…

Don't worry, young man.

I agree with everything you said.

That's why I admire you

and am willing to sit down and listen to you.

But I'm a businessman.

I can do good and uphold justice,

but I have to make an equivalent trade-off.

I understand that.

Mr. Jia,

what can I do for you?

You have discharged yourself from MH.

So how about coming to GE

after this non-competition period?

Jiang Jun, your express.

I got it for you.

Thank you very much.

You’re welcome.

What did you buy?

Voice recorder? What do you need it for?

I'm afraid there will be times

when I can't remember what was said at the meeting.

It'll be easier for me if I record it.

How considerate.

Come in.

Mr. Du, there is a document that needs your signature.

Ok, let me have a look.

I'm sorry.

Done.

Mr… Mr. Lin.

Are you reporting for work?

I’m leaving.

Du Lei

West World

Hello.

I like you.

I really like you.

I really like you.

Who’s that?

How can I hear someone saying he likes me?

I'm hearing voices?

Or is he still haunting me?

Li, I’m here. You can go.

You are here.

Thank you.

I am just going to check on my niece.

His father disappeared.

His mother is exhausted because of this.

She's probably still working overtime at this hour.

Poor child.

Yes.

The child has a good appetite.

She’s probably still at home

with an empty stomach at the moment.

She is so pathetic.

How can there be

such a poor child now?

You’d better go.

Don't let the child suffer any more.

Okay, I'm going.

Thank you.

You are a left-behind child now.

Do you know? Behave yourself.

Your parents are breaking up.

I don’t know where they are now.

It's lucky for you

to have a kind aunt like me.

You should cherish me, you know?

Come and rest for a while.

Wealth.

Wealth,

do you think men are all changeable?

Or is it that Jun and I happen to have met the bad men?

Keep your eyes open for boyfriends in the future.

You know that?

I’m such a good girl.

But he doesn't cherish me.

He's bound to regret it!

Wealth,

let’s go home for dinner.

There's nothing

that can't be solved with one meal, right?

Let’s go.

You are still here, Jiang Jun?

So are you.

I had to work late,

so I went down to buy coffee.

I’m going. Go back to your work.

Wait, Jiang Jun.

I'd like to have a word with you.

Go ahead.

Mr. Du replaced Mr. Yuan.

I know you might think there's something wrong with that.

But I think it is quite necessary for me

to remind you of something.

After all, Mr. Du is on Mr. Lin's side.

If you do anything to him now,

it will be to your disadvantage.

Mr. Lin seems

kind at usual.

In fact, it was he

who instigated me to trap you in the elevator last time.

You mean Lin Taimo?

I always thought it was weird.

He’s the one who hired you.

But why would he treat you like that?

I think you should think about it yourself

and see if you've offended him

recently.

Okay, I get it.

Thank you.

Bye.

Ok.

Jun,

I know you've been working overtime lately,

so I helped you clean your room

and walked Wealth.

Take good care of yourself.

Eat regularly.

P.S.

Most importantly,

take care of yourself no matter how busy you are.

You like MIHOO masks.

I have prepared them for you.

Remember to use them.

Always be the best of yourself.

Sincerely, Li.

Hello, Jun.

Hello, Li.

I saw the note you wrote to me.

You even got me face masks.

That's so sweet.

Sure enough, you love me the most.

But how do you know

I like yogurt of this brand these days?

I know you're busy these days.

Take care of yourself.

Wait.

What yogurt were you talking about?

The yogurt in the fridge.

Fridge?

I didn't tidy your fridge.

Didn't you buy me all this fruit and bread

and ice cream in my fridge?

No.

Jun, I have to go.

I’m going to the supermarket.

I'll talk to you some other time.

There's something I want to tell you.

Ok.

Bye.

Didn't you disappear?

Trying to fool me.

MIHOO

It seems that you do have a conscience.

Mr. Du, how is everything going?

Are you used to working in MH?

This is the work assigned by Mr. Lin.

Naturally, I will be taken care of in all aspects.

How do you like the room

I've arranged for you?

You decorated it yourself. Of course I like it.

I’m flattered.

I’m glad to do this for you.

It satisfies both sides. Of course I’m glad.

It’s considerate of you.

However,

it seems that you are not

getting along well with her.

Some things can't be hurried. We need to take it slow.

Is there any news about Yuan Shuai?

He hasn't taken action lately.

He is behaving himself.

You know,

I've let the whole industry

know about him.

It's too hard for him

to build a new image.

If he did not have to get involved

in the case of Jiangnan Flavor,

I would not have embarrassed him.

Jiangnan Flavor?

Is there any news about Yuan Shuai?

He hasn't taken action lately.

He is behaving himself.

You know,

I've let the whole industry

know about him.

It's too hard for him

to build a new image.

If he did not have to get involved

in the case of Jiangnan Flavor,

I would not have embarrassed him.

So, you are saying that

Lin Taimo didn’t come back

for the gang rivalry,

but for the case of Jiangnan Flavor.

Yes, that was my father's company.

I'm sorry.

I didn't know much about you.

So they were trying to get at you.

The reason they're targeting Yuan Shuai

is that Yuan Shuai is helping you

with your father's case.

I had always thought

there was something wrong with this case,

but I didn't expect that it would turn out this way.

But I think,

since Yuan Shuai doesn't want you to know,

that means he knows it's dangerous

to pursue this case.

He is worried about you.

He does everything for reasons.

He has set the stage.

I suggest we wait and see what happens.

But I learned from Zhu Youyi that

Yuan Shuai was trying to retreat in order to advance.

And it looks like someone else

is helping him.

Could it be Su Chang?

I don't think it's Su Chang.

Su Chang followed him and left, too.

This person should be someone

who can work with him in MH.

Then it must be Mr. Fan, Fan Qichang.

Yuan Shuai was Mr. Fan's favorite disciple.

Although he was suppressed by Mr. Lin,

he still has some influence in MH.

It’s not Mr. Fan.

If Mr. Fan takes any action,

the cunning Lin Taimo

must be aware of that.

It's less likely to be Secretary Bai.

Secretary Bai was carefully cultivated by Lin Taimo.

It is impossible for him to defect.

It would be too dangerous

for Yuan Shuai to play tricks on him.

Could it be…?

Yes.

I think it’s him.

From the beginning of the tip-off, they are setting the stage.

He pretends to surrender and then secretly works with Yuan Shuai.

They should be still looking for

the most crucial evidence against Lin Taimo.

Come in.

Mr. Lin, here's a document.

I'll have to ask you to stamp it yourself.

Ok. Wait.

Done.

Ok.

Thanks. I’ll leave you alone.

Ok.

Yuan Shuai.

According to the clues you provided,

I have investigated the information of all the shareholders of C Group,

among which, Huixing Industrial

which accounts for 5.36 percent of the shares, is very suspicious.

Five years ago,

it was a subsidiary of the Du Group.

But it was the small company that cashed

1.02 percent of C Group’s shares,

about 320 million yuan,

at the top of its listing price.

The company later went its own way,

but it still held shares of C Group.

Who is their legal representative?

This is the most suspicious part.

Its legal representative

is an ordinary former secretary

of the Du Group.

And it has nothing to do with Lin Taimo?

Temporarily no.

Are you sure the person behind Linda

is Lin Taimo?

I’m sure.

If the 5.36 percent of the shares was all cashed,

the amount would exceed 1 billion.

Lin Taimo will not give it up.

Clever as he is,

he must have found someone to hold the stock for him.

Linda is not related to him,

so he won't trust her so much.

They must have an agreement.

Mr. Jia, please help me make an appointment with Linda

in your name tomorrow.

Ok.

Linda,

you are here.

Mr. Jia, why are you in such a good mood today,

inviting me to your home?

I asked you out today

because I have a friend who wants to meet you.

Yuan.

Yuan Shuai.
