Is the camera rolling well?

Yes, I checked several times. Don't worry.

We need to talk.

Mr. Park.

What brings you here?

If you have something to say, say here.

Ms. Kang, can you leave us alone?

Yes.

What on earth happened?

Did you promise my father to leave for America?

We shouldn't have met.

I can't stand you being the talk of others for me anymore.

The talk of others? What are you saying?

Your father treats me like a gold digger, TNC people whisper about me,

...and even NBC staffs regard you as my... sponsor.

Spon... Nonsense!

I know it serves me right.

You signed an expensive ad on NBC for me...

...and got me an assistants and even a fancy van.

Without your help, I wouldn't have come this far.

But now, I want to refuse your help.

Let's stop here before the rumors about us spread further.

Lena.

Lena!

Honey, have some tea. Yam tea is good for the heart.

I have no appetite.

You are too concerned about Minjoon.

By the way, can we put that matter to rest?

Was Lena Jeong serious about finishing with Minjoon and leaving Korea?

Who knows what's in her mind?

But she's shrewd. She might've thought she'd better give up.

I said that if he keeps being stubborn,

...I will kick him out of the family and the company.

She wouldn't want a penniless guy.

Did you bluff or did you really mean it?

A child may turn his back on his parents, but the parents cannot.

It was the only way to break his stubbornness.

I wish he could understand one hundredth of your heart.

I know.

Anyways, you did much for us this time.

Since Lena gave me a solemn promise, Minjoon will give up.

Don't worry.

What is it you just said?

What's the hokum about sponsor out of the blue?

Tell me why you're acting like this!

That's the way people think of us.

Now I'd better accept reality.

No matter how true we are to each other, no one approves of it.

They think I approached you for money and that you bought me.

Lena.

Even your father doubted me and offered me money to separate us.

What? Is it true?

Yes. But now I don't care.

I've never loved anyone this desperately,

...but even my true love is reviled. I'd better let you go.

And that's for your sake, too.

So let's just break up.

Please don't do this.

Are you sure you love me?

How could you give up so easily?

Trust me and wait a little.

Can't you really see my heart?

If you insist on our marriage, your father won't forgive you.

He will kick you out of...

I don't care!

What's the use of everything if you're not with me? I don't care.

But I do. I don't want to see you lose everything because of me.

Giving you damage once is enough.

I will break the contract with NBC and leave for America. That'd be it.

Huh? It's still recording.

Your father treats me like a gold digger, TNC people whisper about me,

...and even NBC staffs regard you as my sponsor.

Spon... Nonsense.

I know it serves me right.

What is this?

You signed an expensive ad on NBC for me...

Esol, did you finish putting things in order?

Yes. Well, something's recorded here.

What do you mean?

Nonsense.

I know it serves me right.

You signed an expensive ad on NBC for me...

...and got me assistants and even a fancy van.

I'm sorry you're misunderstood like that.

I don't care. Nothing new about people spreading false rumors.

Give it to me. I'll delete it.

No, I'll do it.

Pack up and wait in my dressing room.

Okay.

Hand this to Heeyon right away.

Now?

She'll flip out if we're late.

She needs to check the runtime before a meeting tomorrow, so please do it now.

Okay.

I'll be back.

Do it right, Heeyon. I'm going to be busy.

Ms. Jeong, someone came to see you.

Who?

Hi. Ms. Lena Jeong sent me to give you a cooking recording.

Coordi, check the runtime.

Yes.

Excuse me then.

Wait.

Aren't you Esol Kang of TNC?

Yes. I'm working with her from this week.

Her sponsor even got his employee to assist her?

How lucky she is.

It's not that. My boss is...

Fine. You may leave.

How long? It shouldn't go over 20 minutes.

Okay, just a moment.

Ms. Jeong.

Take a look at this.

What is it?

Isn't this Mr. Minjoon Park of TNC?

Yes.

Play it.

It's our contract.

Why do you return it?

I will leave the broadcasting business with this shooting for the last time.

What? You're carrying a joke too far.

Don't cast a chill over the show when it just got momentum.

If it's because of Heeyon...

Don't try to persuade me. I'll leave for America.

And of course, I won't come back.

Are you crazy? Did you forget how you've come this far?

You wanted to take Heeyon's position until just recently!

Situations change. I give up everything, so let me quit.

Don't you know a unilateral breach of contract costs you penalties?

I'm prepared for it.

Please understand me.

What's the reason you want to quit the job so suddenly?

Are you up over with marriage to Minjoon? Is that why?

Don't ask anything.

All I can say is I'm being exiled because of him.

Please handle it well.

What is it at this time of night? Is there any scoop?

Of course. I told you I'll give you one.

You said it's about Lena Jeong.

You know the rumors about her sponsor. I got evidence.

Well.

Take a look.

Without your help, I wouldn't have come this far.

But now, I want to refuse your help.

Wow. It's a jackpot.

Having a drink?

Don't drink on an empty stomach. It hurts your stomach.

Is Father in his room?

He barely got to sleep.

How could you worry him so much? It's not once, but twice.

I heard Lena will leave for America.

When that clever woman gives up, there's a reason.

Your father won't back off this time, so you'd better give up.

Stepmother.

Give her up. I'm always on your side but not in this case.

She is a woman of evil nature and bad to the bone.

She's not that kind of a person.

You're already blinded.

I'm sure that if she joins our family,

...she'll ruin not only your life but also our family.

You're wrong.

She gives up everything for me. That's who she is.

You think that's her real intention? Not a trick to impress you?

She even lets out her contract with NBC.

Isn't it enough?

Please get rid of your bias against her.

You're the only one to persuade my father. Please help.

No. I won't repeat the same mistake.

I'm absolutely against your marriage. Just give up.

How come all the boys in this family are stuck on the wrong women...

...and worry their parents so much?

I know. First it was Jaejoon and now it's Minjoon.

In that sense, you have a good son.

At least, I don't upset you with a marriage issue, right?

You hopeless dork!

You're almost 40. Yet you can say that when you haven't had a chance to marry?

If I could act high and mighty thanks to you, I could die without regret even now.

I won't marry so that you can live a long life.

Shut up!

How did it go? Did he say he'll give up Lena Jeong?

I can't believe she'll even quit the broadcasting job and leave for America.

She must have a plot in mind that I don't know.

Then call your friend and sound it out.

Okay.

Hi, Soohyon. Actually I was about to call you.

Is it true Lena Jeong will quit the job?

What the heck did you do to her?

Are you bent on standing in her way?

What are you talking about?

Is TNC that great?

You're sending her to America to split her up with Minjoon.

Wait, Soohyon.

Did she tell you that we forced her to go to America?

Isn't it obvious?

You didn't like her from the first and at last, you're getting rid of her.

How almighty. I'm disappointed.

Soohyon, Soo...!

She really quit the job.

Then is she really going to break up with Minjoon?

Yes, Ms. Song. What is it at this late hour?

I need to check something urgently.

There's a rumor about your sponsor among reporters. Is it true?

Sponsor? You mean Mr. Minjoon Park?

I thought you were due to marry but was he your sponsor?

I'm leaving Korea next week. I don't want to say anything.

Let me ask one more question.

Is it true TNC is hodling you from working with NBC and forces you to leave Korea?

Again, I have nothing more to say.

Then can I write this story?

Do as you like. I won't be in Korea.

It's good! Who made this? The housekeeper?

Me!

Mrs. Park said,

"No medicine is better than meals. Prepare meals with sincerity for Jaejoon."

So, did you crack on with the cooking lessons?

Yes, I did. I will make kimchi tomorrow.

Seems you're deeply in love with Jaejoon. You're serious!

If we're bound to marry, it's better for me to like him.

And he's cute and genuine. I'm satisfied with him.

But the problem is you're carrying the torch for him.

No. He's falling for me too.

Really?

See, I told you they will get attached to each other.

Great! I'm proud of you!

So I wonder if you can buy me summer clothes. Miel released new products.

Oh, I'm sorry. I'm busy today.

Don't worry. I'll buy you.

What would I not give to support my only daughter's love? I'll buy you.

Dad!

Buy her an expensive one.

Samshik, hurry! We might be late.

- Mom. - Yes?

Dongu has something to give you.

What?

This. Please open it.

What is this?

What is this for?

A waist support. If you wear it, your back will give you less pain.

Give it to me.

Why do you care about her backache?

Father.

You've got no pride?

You take her to hospital and help her in her work,

...and now you even used all your money to buy her this present.

Yet she still ignores you.

So you shouldn't covet my daughter.

Dongu, you don't need to take me to the hospital or give me a present.

That's good. I too felt a pain in my back. I'll put this on.

Father, give it to me.

Right. It's hers. Give it to her!

How rowdy!

Such noisy tenants!

Mom, be nice to Dongu.

He's trying his best to gain your favor. I feel pity for him.

Pity? Not love?

I like him. He's such a nice guy.

That's not my point. Are you drawn to him as a man?

Mom, I have to go. See you at night.

Take care!

You can't control your feelings of love.

Since I know you, I take a firm stand for you.

Do you have a driver's license?

Yes. I drove a pick-up truck back in Kaohsiung.

Seems you've done all sorts of things.

I'll let you take the wheel. Get familiar with directions.

Okay. By the way, where are we going?

Miel, that provides my wardrobe.

You'll contact them in my place. Introduce yourself well.

Okay.

Where is it again?

Miel in Chongdamdoing. It's the best select shop these days.

By the way, is Jaejoon really into you? Did he finish with the girl?

Of course. He's hooked on me.

How about having lunch with him?

Sure. Since you marry this fall, I need to get to know him. Call him.

Jaejoon? Where are you?

I'm on my way home from the hospital.

Miel? Okay.

Dad, I need a lot of clothes.

Okay. Buy all you want to buy.

You're going to leave me this fall. I want to do everything I can do for you.

Dad, you're going to cry.

You're not going to lose me but gain a son-in-law, so don't be sad.

These are new products.

Really?

I'll try these on. Get your credit card ready.

Yes, Your Highness.

Let's see.

Hi. How are you?

Hi! The dress you wore the other day sold out thanks to you.

That's good! This is my assistant. She'll pick up my clothes.

Hi. These are the clothes to return.

Come this way. Please take a look around, Ms. Jeong.

Thanks.

Long time no see.

You've really moved up in the world,

...to put on luxury clothes like these.

Did you forget? We agreed to remain strangers.

So be careful.

This is my wife's regular shop. Use other boutiques.

Why should I?

If you're scared, you avoid me.

I have nothing to be afraid of.

Now you don't care about anything since you can't marry Minjoon?

Seems you're glad to hear that, huh?

You know what? The game is not over yet.

What do you mean?

You'll see.

Esol, did you get my clothes? Let's go.

Okay.

Aren't you going to try on?

The air is too foul here today.

Let's go.

Tada! How do I look?

Well.

Esol Kang?

Why, is she someone you know?

Yes, it's her. The brat from Kaohsiung!

Jaejoon? Where are you?

I'm at the building entrance. I'll be there soon.

No!

Stay there. I'm coming to you.

I'm already in. I'll be there soon.

Jaejoon! Jaejoon!

This is nuts! What if they run into each other?

Go stop her!

Why now when he barely settled down!

Gosh! Nothing's working out!

I'll wait at the entrance.

Take the car out of parking lot. Can you do it?

Sure.

Wait.

We met again. I thought I couldn't see you again.

Can we talk for a minute?

No. I'm busy.

We need to talk. It won't take long.

What brings you here? Did you get a new job?

Yes.

You look worn and drawn.

I heard you were sick. Are you okay now?

It feels awkward.

I imagined a lot to run into you like this.

I thought I'd have a lot to talk.

But now that I really met you, I don't know what to say.

I'm just sorry for everything.

It's all in the past.

I left everything behind. You too, please move on.

Esol.

Excuse me then.

Yura, when did you come?

Bastard.

Don't be late for a return.

And check the condition of clothes thoroughly.

Make sure to check if there's a stain before you borrow them.

What's wrong? Something happened?

Excuse me?

I'm sorry. What did you say?

Geez, you've been absent-minded since a while ago.

Sorry. I ran into someone.

Who?

Your ex-boyfriend?

If you can't get over him, even now is not late.

Hold onto him.

No. Giving him up is good for everybody.

You yourself is more important than others.

I bet you'll regret letting him go throughout your life.

I won't care if you don't.

There's a rumor about your sponsor among reporters. Is it true?

Didn't she write an article yet?

Yes! It came on.

Esol, let's go to NBC.

Not to the skin care shop?

Just drive to NBC. Hurry!

What do you say? See, I was right.

I told you she's disgusting from the first.

Now it's your decision to make.

Hi! I'm a bit early for the meeting.

Ms. Bae.

- Heera! - How are you?

- How are you? - Hi.

Have a seat, please.

Did you see it?

See what?

I knew it. I canceled a surgery and ran to you.

Check this out.

Here.

"Truth about Showbiz and Sponsors"

"Secret deals between T Company,

the leader of food service industry and Miss J, a former chef"

What is this?

Doesn't it mean TNC and Lena Jeong?

Then is Minjoon her sponsor?

And reporters found out and wrote on them?

How come they broke a scandal at this moment?

I'm sure the vixen leaked it.

Now that she's done with marriage, she's screwing you up.

Unbelievable. What should I do?

Father, I'm sorry. I just read the article.

It's not true.

You're going to ruin my company!

How could you cause such a dirty scandal like this?

How I've grown TNC. It's the product of my blood-and sweat.

But how could you ruin it like this?

You know it's a false rumor.

I didn't approach her with an ulterior motive.

I was serious about her from the first and so was she. So...

How dare you still babble before me!

This isn't the first time you stir up the company.

You brought us to a rock bottom with the rainbow pizza,

...and now when we barely got back on track, you made a scandal?

With that woman?

I will reveal the truth.

For the sake of the company and Lena,

...I will clarify that all these are vicious and groundless rumors.

Clarify?

Clarify what?

Has any scandal come out in the wash?

Even though you bring a libel suit against reporters,

who would believe you?

It'll only spread the rumor faster and work against you.

Still, I can't leave it as it is.

I'll resolve the matter.

Stay out of it.

You're such a poor judge of a character to be taken in.

If the scandal grows, we might be audited by the NTS.

I'll take care of the matter.

Don't do anything.

Did you call up the directors?

Yes. They're waiting for you.

I'll leave it up to their decision. Be prepared for dismissal.

This is unfair. You know it's only a rumor.

Only a rumor? You think they wrote an article without evidence?

Stay out of it if you don't know.

Ms. Bae, Mr. Park and I are not in such a relationship.

We love each other and plan to get married.

You think his family is an easy mark?

Why would they accept a daughter-in-law like you?

Oh, maybe you had that illusion,

...although he only played around with you.

No need to talk more. You are out from tomorrow.

Ms. Bae.

You're going to quit anyway. No one is sorry to let you go a week earlier.

No! I won't quit my job like that.

If I quit now, it's like I admit the rumor. No, I won't.

So what do you suggest?

Can't you even do that when you brought us damage?

You can't go on the air. Forget about it.

Just give me a chance to explain everything.

You still don't get it?

Didn't I tell you people are not interested in truth?

People talking a lot about your instant fame anticipated as much.

You can't overturn the situation. Say no more.

Alright. How scary.

You make a fool out of a person in an instant.

She's unbelievably cheeky when I watched it clearly with my own eyes.

What do you mean?

It's me who leaked it to the media. I got evidence.

Let's pack up and leave.

Are you okay?

About what?

The article. I'm to blame for it.

I read the article that there's a video of you and Mr. Park...

fight over the sponsor thing.

It was recorded yesterday, right?

So?

I should've made sure if it was deleted but...

I did it on purpose.

Sorry? What do you mean?

Didn't I say you yourself are more important than others?

And that you should cast your net wide.

Ms. Jeong.

Watch for the result.

Let's go.

Why? Am I scary?

Esol.

You are the first one that I open up my heart.

I don't know why.

Perhaps it's because you reminded me of myself at your age.

Or maybe,

since everything is a lie, I need one truth.

So that I can keep my sanity.

Ms. Jeong.

Keep the secret.

I'll trust you as much as you trust me.

Where are you?

I'm on my way home. I was expelled from NBC.

Expelled?

Was it because of the false rumor?

Don't worry about me.

I wish to run to you now but it might harm you.

What should I do now?

What are you doing?

I have no choice.

My staying in Korea won't do any good to you.

I'd better leave for America as soon as possible.

Lena.

Take a seat.

You didn't have dinner, right?

I prepared dinner for you.

Well, it's going to be our last dinner together.

How do you like it?

I made Avalon porridge for your digestion.

When are you going to leave?

I was going to leave quickly but there are lots of things to sort out.

I'm leaving this weekend.

I won't stop you.

You'll be pestered by the media if you stay in Korea.

It's not a bad idea to keep clear of this situation.

I'll come to you when it settles down.

Don't.

Let's end our relationship here.

What will you become of?

Rumors will settle down in time,

...so if I leave you, everything will be fine, right?

The board is now sitting on the matter.

I have to submit to their decision.

Probably, I'll be dismissed.

Minjoon.

It's okay. I'm prepared for it.

But the fact that there is nothing I can do for you...

...makes me upset.

Don't be.

You've done enough for me.

I've never been loved like this before in my life.

Thank you.

Yura! Yura!

Go away! I don't want to say anything now.

Alright. Call me when you feel better.

Gosh, he's so!

Yura.

How can you leave just because I told you?

You're so insincere to me!

I told you enough. It's nothing to be mad about.

I ran into Esol so I only said hi.

Esol, Esol...

Please stop calling her name before me!

What? You only said hi?

You think I didn't see how you looked at her?

Your eyes were so longing for her!

Have you ever looked at me like that?

You haven't.

I know we didn't start seeing each other out of love.

And yet, if I do my best to you, you should requite my effort.

How long will you be the same?

I'm trying. I told you I'll come up to you slowly.

So when? When on earth?

I've grown to like you.

At first, I didn't care whether you think of her or not,

...but now I'm so pissed off.

I'm sorry.

So please wait a little more. I'll try harder.

In what ways am I inferior to her?

Is it my face? Or my body?

And I am richer than her.

Please forget about her. Please.

Hey, Esol!

Are you out to meet me?

You will catch a cold when the weather is chilly. Put this on.

Why don't we wear a promise ring?

To promise not to waver again.

Are you serious?

Do you really accept me?

Wait a sec. I'll go get changed.

Oppa, it is well roasted. Enjoy it!

"Oppa?" She's a fresh face here.

You're my type. Can I have your number?

Really? It is 010...

Who is this boy?

She's my mom.

Mom, Dad is looking for you.

You're so. Follow me.

Why do you have to spoil the mood?

Eunsol. Mom, let me go!

I asked Eunsol to come and help, and Youngu plays her bodyguard.

This is why you need a man in a family.

Look. Why don't you accept Dongu?

Actually, I'm so disturbed.

Wow!

They're wearing promise rings.

That means Esol accepted Dongu as her boyfriend.

Yangsoon, there's no choice. Give Esol to us.

No. I still can't believe this.

Bye.

Are you sure you can work after the meeting overnight?

It can't be helped since I failed to raise my child well.

Honey, how do you expect the result?

Lena will leave for America and Minjoon might be dismissed, huh?

Probably. Anyways, I'll let you know when I get the result.

Take care.

- Take care. - Okay.

Take care, Taesoo.

Oh, Heera. I'm worried he might collapse.

He looks so emaciated today.

When he's already really old, he looks like your father not like your husband.

Mom.

Yes, this is Lena Jeong.

This is the TNC chairman's office. Mr. Park wants to see you now.

Okay. I'll be right there.

What's your business here?

There's something suspicious so I came to verify it.

Verify? What now?

Who tipped off the media with this scandal?

Who is the source?

Heera.

It's Lena Jeong. Isn't it?

Yes or no. It was leaked by mistake.

What do you mean by "mistake"?

We take a shot of the cooking part before we shoot Healing Recipe.

And the quarrel of the two was filmed.

The two? Who? Lena and Minjoon?

Yes. They had a bust-up.

Heeyon saw the video and provided it to the media.

They hate each other.

That wily fox beat me.

I knew it.

Can you give me the video file?

What for?

I'm going make Lena Jeong never enter Korea again.

I'll have TNC hold a press conference and take the wraps off her.

Do you really need to?

She'll be removed from the show and leave for America.

If I don't, she'll come back and shake up Minjoon.

Give it to me.

Father.

It is all my fault.

I will resign in order to repair the damaged reputation of TNC.

Lena will leave for America this weekend.

We won't keep in touch until things settle down.

So please give it some time and see.

Mr. Park, she's just arrived.

Let her in.

Why did you call her?

I told you it was a mistake and she'll leave for America.

Have a seat.

Lena Jeong, is this what you wished for?

Did you wish to make my son and my company the butt of ridicule?

I'm sorry.

Do you know how much I trusted you at first?

I thought you were able, gutsy, and passionate...

...enough to be Minjoon's right-hand person.

How could you betray my trust like this?

You take the responsibility for what you caused.

Don't say yes or no and just do as I tell you.

Father, she is not to blame.

Alright.

Like you said, I'm responsible for all this.

Just say the word. I'll do as I'm told.

- Father. - Shut up!

I have no other choice.

In order to save the company, although it's against my wishes,

...I'm following the decision of the board.

So what is their decision?

"Solve the problems you yourself created."

You made your bed, now lie in it.

What do you think?

I don't know. It's too abrupt.

I hope this decision works out for TNC.

Leave it to me. Just catch up on your sleep.

You too. Your face became gaunt.

See you this evening. I have to finish some work.

Okay. I'm sorry.

I told you not to say sorry between us.

Bye.

What are you watching so intently?

Lena Jeong. She's such a holy terror.

So what are you watching?

You'll see it at a press conference. Just step on it.

How are you?

How cheeky. What brings you here?

I was called by Mr. Park.

He told me to accept the board's decision.

Yeah? What's their decision?

Well. I do mind saying it. Ask him yourself.

So, you're leaving for America, aren't you?

Don't even try to come back.

Even if you want to come back,

I'll make you never be able to enter Korea.

How?

How about with this?

Everybody needs to know it was your work.

Of course, they won't easily believe it with this alone.

But if I hold a press conference and lay bare all your falsehood,

...what would people say?

You are amazing.

Guess you made a lot of effort to get it.

You must've looked for the catch here and there.

But you know what? You're a step behind.

What do you mean?

Why am I a step behind?

To hold such a press conference, you'll need Mr. Park's approval first,

...but it won't be easy.

What?

What's the family for?

You should cover for each other.

Who would agree to wash our dirty linen in public?

Family? What are you talking about?

Didn't I tell you? I should accept the decision of the board.

Mr. Park told me to lie in the bed I myself have made.

In other words, since Minjoon and I caused this trouble,

...he told us to resolve it by marriage.

What? Marriage?

You?

Yes. Changing the dirty sponsor story into a romantic love story.

It'll save the company image and fulfill Minjoon's wish.

Nothing to lose.

Since I don't have a family, I've always dreamed of...

...getting along well with my mother-in-law.

Please be easy on me.

Wait.

Was this calculated too? Was it?

Well. I'll leave it to your imagination.

Oh. Mr. Park told me to hurry on marriage.

Please prepare for it well, Mother.

[Subtitles provided by MBC]

Now we are going to become one.

For our happiness in the future.

Memory.

If the woman he was once madly in love showed up like this, he'll waver in pain.

Congrats for becoming a couple.

I really cannot be your man?
