Not sure what I'm looking for,

Okay. Hopefully your bike fits in my car.

I'm really sorry that happened to you.
Hey, so tell me about this family you're buying bikes for.
I do a Secret Santa program every year,
and this family said they wanted bikes.
They have a bunch of kids
and they've been struggling financially.
They even said on their application

You know, I do a lot through my organization,

Well, that's
that's really generous of you.

'Cause there's this thing that every boss chick
gotta be a queen bee?
I mean, a lot of us, yeah,

But my mother raised me different.
I find my strength in my sensitivity,

But you said he had too much to drink
before you saw him in the closet, right?
- Yeah. - Well, maybe he's just
one of those guys who just can't hold his liquor well.
So you think he could have blacked out?
I guess that is possible.
- Oh, but... but get this. - What?
The other day Alex brought us some eggnog into my office,
and he even said he hadn't had it
since a Christmas party last year.
I mean, maybe he really did black out last year.
But honestly, I think you're thinking way too much about this
for someone who's not interested.
But look.
Do I look that much different than that photo?
Why does this mean so much to you?
'Cause he did. But...
- There. I said it. - Oh!
He mattered. I mean, for a moment
like before the alcohol, before the closet, I thought
thought we really connected, you know?
It's been so long since I had a connection with somebody
- like that. - Mm.
Oh. And then that kiss, I mean
it was... it was a kiss.
So why play these games?
Talk to him. Talk to him nice. Get that spark back, mami.
Or I could just keep avoiding him,
Mr. David Joy.
I mean, clearly that night meant nothing to him.
All right, well, honestly, it's probably for the best.
We got a lot to worry about.
Hey. I hope you don't mind me dropping by.
- Alex said you'd be here. - Yeah, I'm just here
waiting on the designers to let me know their ideas
for the décor for the launch party.
Look at you! I like the new look.
Tuesday C will get you after a while.
I'm just impressed you even own a Santa hat.
Oh, don't be too impressed.
Bill was passing 'em out at the security meetings.
Said that we needed to get our Christmas cheer going. For you.
Like anyone could forget it's Christmas around here.
Well, that's very sweet of him
but unnecessary.
Someone wanting to put a smile on your face
is never unnecessary.
Especially someone with a pretty smile like you.
Oh, wow.
The world-famous Tuesday C line.
I see why you protected your designs.
I don't know much, but...
Pretty nice.
I can smell the quality of the leather from here.
Oh, you didn't strike me as someone
who had an appreciation for fashion.
Don't judge me 'cause of my work clothes.
I know a little bit about fashion.
Okay.
But I can tell you're a very talented designer.
Thanks. I was top of my class at the Fashion Institute.
I'm sure.
Last time I turned out some art
was in high school.
I made this bowl, uh, on a clay wheel
that I gave to my mom.
I ain't seen that thing since.
She probably threw it away when I wasn't looking.
Oh, come on. I know your mother wouldn't do that.
My mom is... not sentimental at all.
It probably didn't hold any value to her.
Hey, look, we grew up well off.
My mother is extremely materialistic,
so don't judge me by the bike.
How much do one of these Tuesday C purses cost?
Oh, they range, like the small one like that is 400.
2,500 for the larger purse.
For a purse?
For a statement.
Okay. So you just see a purse, right?
But we see a staple in our collection, um
a peek into our identity.
Something that protects the things you cherish the most.
So it's not a status symbol
that creates a false sense of identity?
So the woman wears the bag, not the other way around.
I hear you. It's just...
It's just what?
Okay. No offense -Oh!
Here comes the offense.
- Hear me out. - Mm-hmm.
You're giving, you're caring,
and you understand things deeper than most,
so why make bags that the average woman can't afford?
Wasn't it you that was giving out free bags
to women that were getting out of prison?
That's why I have my foundation, COMFORT.
All of the sales from the holiday line
benefit the foundation.
Women can go to any department store
and get a handbag for $50 or less,
but my clientele, they want the high-end bag,
you know, made with the best quality leather,
stitched meticulously,
something that will last them a lifetime.
And then all of the sales from the line
go to the foundation, and we distribute it to the charities.
So lower income women don't aspire to have a Tuesday C bag?
I don't know, but we chose to focus on things
other than whether they could afford an expensive bag.
You know, these women need help like housing and job training
and feeding their kids.
We choose to focus in those areas.
Right.
I'm sure you do wonderful work.
Mm.
You know what, Mr. Joy? How can I help you?
Why did you really come here today?
Um.
Based on my findings,
I believe the hacker is
somebody on the inside.
An employee? Impossible. My team is tight, loyal,
- ten toes down. - Yeah, I hear you,
but like I said
someone stole your designs.

Well, a long time ago on a night just like tonight,
my mom and my brother Julian and I
came here on Christmas Eve.
I remember because it was the winter I turned six.
My brother had just turned ten.
We only had the clothes on our backs.
Mm-hmm. I had to leave all of my toys
and my favorite stuffed animal Macaroni.
I mean, that fire took everything.
But when we got here, they gave us a big bed to sleep in
'cause they knew we wouldn't wanna separate
on our first night and, um,
there was another family in there too.
- Mm-hmm. - I just remember it being
so cozy, such soft blankets.
This place has really soft blankets.
And I was... I just remember feeling so safe.
You know? But I was so tired.
I almost slept through Christmas the next day.
Not quite, 'cause your brother woke up early,
- and then he got me up. - Yep. And I got the most
beautiful doll I could ever imagine that year.
I named her Keisha.
Well, Princess was her full name,
but Keisha Princess was an African princess.
You loved that doll, girl.
And we stayed for about
two months until we had enough money saved
after I got a new job, and then we got an apartment.
Yep. I mean, looking back, it was hard, you know,
leaving our home on Christmas, but everyone here
- made us feel so loved. - They did.
Yeah. And we started a new life in this neighborhood.
Yeah. And look at my baby now.
We moved to New York. She went to design school
that she paid for herself.
She has her own successful company now.
So just remember that God can definitely
turn things around for you,
and never forget the spirit of Christmas.
And that's why we come here every single year
and we share our testimony with you.
Because we want the exact same faith that got us through
to inspire you too.
Hey.
- Hi. - I'm sorry to bother you
at home... Caroline said you'd be here.
Uh, is it something that Bill can handle?
Just real quick. I was doing some thinking.
You've shared a lot about your past

I was just wondering if you've ever
implemented any of that in your designs.
I'm sorry, I'm just... I'm a little occupied.
Does that have anything to do with the data breach
or the ANGEL line designs?
No. But...
Look, I just... I couldn't help but notice
all the Christmas decorations and you being
clearly gaga for Christmas.
No. I just simply have the holiday spirit.
You're kidding me, right?
Between your office and your home,
you're upstaging the North Pole.
Okay, okay, that's...
- That's not my point. Um... - Okay.
You are here to investigate a cybercrime, okay?
Not to lend your uneducated artistic advice
about my décor. Which
which is an extension of me and who I am.
It's... it's my artistry.
But clearly, that's not good enough for you.
I just... came to float an idea.
Wait, what... what are we talking about?
You!
We're talking about you!
The guy who presented himself as a race car driver
after I told him that I was afraid to ride in cars
and then offered to take me on a ride,
which was the worst pickup line in the world!

and as soon as we respond, they just

I mean, what was it, huh?
Was I smart enough for you? Sexy enough?
Oh. Oh, you wanted a freak.
You wanted somebody to feel you up on the dance floor?
Is that the girl you wanted in the closet that night?
Do you normally kiss strangers?
Because that would say a lot about you too.

In addition to our Every Mamas and ANGEL work program,
this is an opportunity for us to create the everyday handbag
for the everyday woman, or more like the everyday angel.
So I will call the new entry to the ANGEL line Every Angel.
We will start manufacturing these bags immediately in the US

but they've ensured that they will be ready by Christmas Eve
for preorders.
And the original prototypes from the ANGEL line
will be sold at auction
and the Foundation, COMFORT, will benefit from those sales.
Now Caroline and I have worked tirelessly
to ensure that the handbags will be ready to ship by the 27th.
That's right. And we will take a loss on this bag at first,
but the addition of a new handbag
will freshen up the launch and help us somewhat save face.
It'll drive foot traffic to our store
and catch fire on social media.
ANGEL's holiday gift to women everywhere is truly an Angel.

Fine. My mom is not your mom.
Okay? She loves me. She would never hurt me.
She's not careless and reckless and cold-hearted.
Or perfect.
Your mom ain't perfect.
And I know that may be hard for you to believe
because in your world, everything is.
Ha. Surprise!
You take another jab at my Christmas joy?
More like naivety for the real world.
All right. Um...
I think that we're done here, and I think you should leave.
Yeah.
Yeah, I should leave.
I'm trying to do the job that you asked me to do.
Thank you. Thank you for reminding me
why you're actually here, because for a moment, I just...
Never mind.
We're done.
Yeah.
We are done.
You didn't have to break up with him.
We weren't together.
- Not like that. - Yeah, but you were hopeful.
It doesn't matter.
And you're sure?
Look, he was a professional, right?
The one that you hired to find the source.
- Very expensive source. - Stop.
What? Tellin' the truth?
Look, it doesn't hurt to ask her.
I mean, why not be certain instead of emotional?
Happy?
- Told you I deleted everything. - Yes.
Thank you, Mama, and I'm sorry for rolling up on you
and getting you in a panic for no reason at all.
What? What am I missin'?
Oh, nothing. It's just her "I told you so" face.
It's not that cute.
- What she tell you? - You know what?
It doesn't matter, because everything is as it should be.
Really? Is it, Tuesday?
- Stop. - Wait.
She messed it up, didn't she?
- You let the boy go. - Oh, please, Ma.
He did it to himself. And you know, I...
I don't wanna talk about this.
Well, you see, the problem is
is that she can't trust him or her feelings,
so she finds an excuse and then she wants to avoid both of them.
- Mm-hmm. - I believe it.
Because when she was six years old, let me tell you...
Ladies, can we just... change gears?
Ma, did you even finish the Christmas bingo
- for the family yet? - I started it.
I don't know why you and Cousin Donna
keep putting this on me.
Like all this baking I'm doing is not contribution enough.
- Caroline. - Hmm?
You wanna try some of my new peppermint cupcakes?
- Claro, mami. - Come on, baby.
Well, I'll finish it.
'Cause Cousin Donna already texted me twice today
about putting it on the family website.
What?
Ma!
What?
- What... - What's wrong?
You done forgot my password.
- What? - Ma, what is this email?
Oh. I sent those pictures of your new bags
- to my book club. - What?
Yeah. So they can get a jumpstart
on ordering handbags for Christmas.
They're always saying how your bags are too expensive,
and they know nobody who can afford 'em.
Especially Candace.
Mrs. Comfort, hey
did you send the files to the book club recently?
Sure did. That'll keep Candace from complaining
that her social climbing daughter
can't afford a Tuesday C purse.
And by any chance, did you ever send the photos
of the ANGEL line to Candace and anyone in the book club?
No. Those designs were top secret.
I wouldn't send those.
And did you save any of the designs?
No. I deleted it right after I was told to.
I remember, because Candace was over for coffee,
and you sent me a text and reminded me to delete the file.
Yeah, Ma, but think. Did you show Candace
the designs that day? I mean, is there...
Is there any chance she could have sent the emails to herself?
Oh. She did actually use my computer
to look at a bed on eBay.
Is there still an eBay?
What?
Oh, no. Oh, baby.
So sorry.
He was right.
Not necessarily. He wasn't all the way right.
Doesn't matter. It doesn't matter.
I wouldn't even listen to him. He tried to tell me,
and as soon as he said it was probably my mother, I...
Hey. Hey. None of that matters now.
You know what we need to do now.
Although the files originated from here,
they were sent via email to my mom,
and then a friend of my mother sent them to her daughter
who then sent them to her boyfriend who works for a
low-budget fashion line.
While they were busy reduplicating the bags,
the daughter decided to leak the photos out of spite.
I mean, her mother has been getting on to her
about life choices and using me as an example,
giving her every reason to hate me
and to screw me in the process.
So turns out this was not a dark web cybercrime.
Yeah. And who would've thought?
David thought this. This was his find.
I still feel terrible about Candace
and her awful daughter.
I mean, who steals someone's designs outta spite?
I mean, just for the sake of being mean?
Lil' brat.
Her mama keeps asking if you pressin' charges.
Ugh, I mean, I'm letting my attorneys handle it
at this point. I mean, the knockoffs
have already been released. The damage is done.
Yeah. Well, I'm glad that David figured it out.
Ha. Mr. Joy.
I like his name.
I feel it all down in my heart.
But you know... I can't apologize enough
for the pain that I've caused you.
I mean, I wouldn't even be offended
if you didn't tell me any more of your ideas.
No, look, Mama, I trust you with my life.
I hope you paid that investigator well.
Actually, um, he wouldn't accept any pay.
Well, that's strange.
Well, I'll thank him myself tonight.
You did invite him, didn't you?
Now, he sure was handsome.
He remind me of your father, girl, when he was younger.
Mm. God rest his soul, though.
- Mama, Daddy is not dead! - He's dead to me!
And look, and Mr. Joy-Joy-Joy down in my heart?
I mean, he was a real gentleman when I met him at your office.
He was kind. He was assertive. He was confident
and looked like he could back off if he needed to.
And, look, I checked, and apparently, he's single.
Mom, me and David are not in a good place right now.
Besides, I heard he dates a lot.
I mean, I'm probably not even his type.
You don't know that. And you my baby.
I raised you. You're everyone's type.
And didn't you say he was working late nights
all this month?
I mean, he probably can find a break in his social calendar.
Okay, so I had Alex send him a invitation
per your request, but I mean...
Ma, I doubt he even makes it.
I haven't exactly talked to him the last couple of days.
What happened between you two?
Nothing, Ma.
Okay.
Mm-hmm. Oh, I'ma find out. And Caroline gonna tell me.
Because she will snitch in the blink of an eye
for one-a my pecan tarts. You hear me?
Well, don't worry about it. I'ma get to the end of this.
Play with me.
- Oh, my goodness. - Pshh.
Look at our girl, y'all. We did good!
I asked her to do the speech by herself.
I did not wanna get on stage.
Well, she still might call you though.
I hope not. I mean, this is her moment to shine.
Hey, you are the sister she's never had,
and you've taken her dreams like they were your own
since day one.
All her friends couldn't do that.
Baby, that's rare. That's special.
That's a gift from God.
Thank you so much for gettin' my baby here.
- Gimme a hug, baby. - Anything for Tuesday.
Yes.
- And Alex. Oh, my gosh. - Oh!
Whoo! We made it to the Christmas Eve launch, y'all.
Now, as many of you may have already heard,
our ANGEL line designs were made public weeks ago,
allowing the world to see our gorgeous handbags.
But we feel that it helped create the buzz
and interest that pushes this company
to get our handbags into the hands
of our most cherished clients.
We got a lot of PR from that breach, y'all.
Now, myself, along with my partner
and head of marketing,
Caroline Renard
proud of what we've created.
And I'm happy that we dealt with this as a family.
Family truly is the center of this design.
We didn't just create the everyday handbag
for the extraordinary everyday woman, no.
These bags were designed with the heart of my Nana
and the warmth, style, and grace
that she wanted every woman to embody
through every stitch of her handcrafted handbags
in the '60s.
So, without further ado,
I present to you the newly redesigned ANGEL line
from Tuesday C.
Now, what many of you don't know
is that we put a twist on the ANGEL line this year.
We wanted to offer a Christmas gift to every woman.
We know that every woman is not in the position
to spend top dollar on our designs.
Maybe they're spending their hard-earned money
on things like childcare while they're at work
or groceries or medical care.
So, in the holiday spirit,
we present to you Every Angel,
a handbag that's manufactured with alternative materials
so that we can offer it at cost
to anyone who can afford to treat themselves.
And if you can't afford a handbag,
we encourage you to apply for one
through our foundation COMFORT.
We'll be giving away hundreds over the next few weeks.
And when I'm asked where all this was inspired,
it was truly a conversation that I had with a friend.
A friend that reminded me that
the holidays are about so much more than the gifts
and the lights and the tinsel.
But it's about the people.
Everyone deserves to feel special on the holidays.
Everyone deserves to feel loved.
Everyone deserves an Angel.
Thank you.
I love you. I love you.
- Hey. - Hey.
I've, um, I've been trying to reach you.
Yeah. I know. I've... been occupied.
With another woman.
Yeah. I'm sorry.
No. Ha.
I understand. I just... I have to go check on something.
My mother has always been a talker.
I finally reached out.
That's great. I'm really happy for you.
It was a lot easier than I thought, too.
I just asked her out for a Christmas drink.
She had a... Cosmopolitan.
I had a eggnog.
- S-spiked? - No. It was not spiked.
But it was a really nice night.
That's beautiful. I mean, I'm really proud of you.
Thank you.
And I'm glad to see you here. I didn't think you'd come.
- Me either. - So why did you?
I just felt like we were giving each other second chances, so...
I figured why stop now?
I guess I'm the one that should be apologizing now.
I mean, you were right, David.
I just wish you would have pushed a little bit harder.
It was your mom.
I knew the truth was gonna come out eventually.
I just wanted to make sure your backs were safe.
- And they were. - Yeah, no thanks to me.
You really have a hard time
letting the past be the past, huh?
Gosh, it's hard!
Especially when I don't know what I mean or what it means,
and I just... I...
I feel like I sound silly even trying to explain it.
It was unfair, David. I mean, I was a stranger to you.
Can I speak?
Yeah.
I haven't stopped thinking about you since that night.
Our conversation was easy.
It was organic.
Fun.
Smart.
Beautiful.
I just... I cannot remember the last time
I felt on fire on the inside like that.
I knew we had a connection.
And then I kissed you, and...
I just never experienced anything like that before.
Like, did I really just meet the perfect woman
in one night?
So I pulled back.
I mean, it wasn't easy, but
it was necessary.
I don't know. I guess I just figured
that you were some Christmas angel
and that moment was just that... moment.
Okay, so what do you think now?
I think there's gotta be something special
to this Christmas joy and the spirit that you have.
I would love to pick back up where we left off.
Or we can create a new moment.
Right here, right now.
I would love that.
Merry Christmas, Ms. Comfort.
Merry Christmas, Mr. Joy.
Come on. Dance with me.
Sure.
