every Christmas morning,

gifts for the kids until
I got back from Nam.

And even after,
I'm making money.

We're back on our feet.

Every year like clockwork, the
Christmas gifts kept on coming.

I didn't know any of this.

And the truth is
grandma was ashamed.

After she told me,
she said she didn't

want to ever talk
about it again,

struggles accepting charity.

So out of respect,
I kept it to myself.
