hi there welcome to the getting started with Autocad's

Navisworks 2016 course

my name is Deepak Mani

and I'm the author of the up and running

with Autocad's Navisworks series of books

Autodesk Navisworks is becoming an integral

part of the overall BIM strategy

around the world

its ability to work with a large number of native files

is making it a software of choice for running

coordination meetings of BIM projects around the world

I'm really excited about teaching you Autodesk

Navisworks

because in addition to teaching you this program

I will also share with you my experience of running

coordination meetings using this software

we will start with creating the federated model

by combining the BIM data from the structural

architectural HVAC

plumbing and electrical consultants

then I'll explain how we get our federated models

ready for coordination meetings

once we have our federated model ready

I will explain how to navigate around the model

how we perform design reviews

add redline markups measure distances

and then also perform clash tests

between various disciplines

and finally

I will explain how we publish our design service

file with our red line markups

reviews and clash results

and also generate clash reports

to be issued to the individual consultants

because a number of consultants

rely on these clash reports to review their issues

and to fix them as I said
