back with another new car.

Jack Duncan is a big
customer of ours,

but a personal friend
to me and Bert.

He is quite fussy.

So, Bert, you're going to
be heavily involved in this.

Yeah.

YIANNI: He wants to add a
couple of red pinstripes

to go with his interior.

So he's going to go red around
the bonnet in the central part

of the carbon, falling
over the roof, the end

plates on the spoiler.

But it is pinstripe, and if
you don't line it up correctly,

it's going to look shocking.

Cool?
- Got this.

AMELIA: Sounds good.

YIANNI: Amelia, if it goes
wrong, it's on you, Bert.

- Hey.

OK, right, here we go.

Top of the bonnet.

Yep.

NARRATOR: This job
requires no strip down,

so they get straight
into measuring up.

I should go start cutting.

mezzanine, Amelia inputs

the dimensions into a
plotter, which will cut

the vinyl with laser precision.

Downstairs, Yianni
has received a call.

JOSH CARTU: What's up, man?

How are you doing, my man?

NARRATOR: Josh Cartu is a racing
driver and previous customer.

He's been liaising with
Yianni to plan a special wrap

for an upcoming road rally.

What are you sending me?

JOSH CARTU: It's a
Ferrari 812 Superfast.

Ooh.

JOSH CARTU: I've done
a lot of modifications.

YIANNI: OK.
And what are you thinking?

JOSH CARTU: I want to
go crazy this time--

blue chrome, dragons on it.

Oh my god.

So you're not playing around.

This is a proper car.

And where's it coming
in from, Budapest?

Yeah.

Yeah, you should
have it pretty soon.

So once it arrives, I'll work

rally is this weekend,

NARRATOR: They've laid the
shortest stripe by mistake.

BERT: You cut it short.

You used the short one.

I've used the short one?

NARRATOR: Amelia will
have to recut new vinyl.

But that's a job for tomorrow.

this is one of the fastest
road-going Ferraris ever built,

with a price tag of
260,000 and a top

speed of 211 miles per hour.

The car has arrived, but
Yianni is still waiting

for the one-off digital print.

With the short deadline,
he needs to brief the team.

Ferrari 812 Superfast.

It's a great car.

I've never seen one before.

It's not easy to wrap in.

You two are loving the
car, and Nicco is straight,

it's not easy to wrap.

Every single panel is, like,
there's some curves in it.

Pav?

Worried, I'm not
going to lie to you.

I've never worked on one,
so time for this, Yian--

You've got to give us
a bit of time, Bubba.

He's doing a rally.

That's all I needed to hear.

He's coming to pick up
at the end of the week,

and the following
day, he's gone.

So it's having a full
digital print wrap,

which is like a chrome effect.

It's then having dragon print
stickered on top of the wrap

that you've already done.

So it's going to be--

it's going to be like a puzzle.

[laughs]

Listen, it's a team effort.

Yeah.

So if it goes wrong,
we're all to blame.

If it goes great,
obviously, I'm the man.

PAV: All right, I'm
going to get my tools.

NARRATOR: Short of time and
concerned about the amount

of work ahead, Pav gets
stuck into the strip.

Just start by taking
off these vents here.

First time I'm working on one
of these, so, you know, take us

a little bit longer just
to work everything out.

But, look, Ferraris are pretty
much built the same way.

NARRATOR: Upstairs, the
digital print has arrived.

Bert, what are you doing?

Your timing couldn't
be any better.

What is this?

This is Josh's
vinyl for the 812.

Ooh.

All right, I don't want
to damage it, so pick it up.

NARRATOR: Josh commissioned
this design himself,

so the team have yet to see it.

Oh, wow.

So it's all in pieces.

BERT: Yeah, so section
by section for the car.

This ain't going
to be easy, is it.

BERT: No.

It's going to be hard.

Because trying
to match this up--

what's that, the dragon?

BERT: Yeah.

On a level, you have
got this 100% confirmed

how it needs to go on the car.

Yeah, I've got a layout of
exactly what piece goes where,

and that's why I'm
rolling it all now.

I'll then mark them to
tell the boys exactly

where they're going to go.

You've got all sorts
of different shapes.

There are loads of bits.

I'll be honest, I didn't
realize it was this much.

[upbeat music]

NARRATOR: Downstairs,
Mark and Nicco

have been given a
guide for the design

and now need to make it work.

They decide to lay the
front bumper first.

Once in place, they can
use it as a reference point

for the rest of the panels.

[upbeat music]

This digital print is a
one-off, so they only have

one shot at getting it right.

They cannot afford to
stretch or damage the vinyl.

So we laid the first panel.

And it's going to be
hard now because we

have to match every panel.

We have to do the pattern.

And, yeah, it's going to
be difficult, this one.

NARRATOR: Next, they want to lay
the first side of the car to get

a sense of the overall design.

[dramatic music]

You all right?

Not really.

We're having issues
because this one--

they cut it too short.

So when we go in the middle, we
need to go higher, like this.

Hold on, hold on, hold on.

Let me understand this.

This here needs to be exactly
in the middle, which means,

if you pull this higher,
you're short on the bottom.

If you leave it lower, you're
going to be short on the roof.

That's it, yeah.

Can we see?

There's not a lot.

Right.

The dragon goes
straight over the top.

Look at that.

The dragon goes straight
over that rear quarter.

OK, here's what I would do.

I would lay it to the maximum.

So go to the maximum
that you can come over

without leaving yourself short.

Then lay the roof.

Based on where we
put the dragon,

we'll hide the duplication,
and then we'll just

mirror it on the other side.

I know it's not ideal, so let's
just make it work somehow.

OK?

You got it, you
got it, you got it.

NICCO: Yeah.
MARK: Cool.

Calm, calm.
We got this.

Don't worry.

We got this.

It's too late to order
a new vinyl print,

so Yianni's plan
is the only option.

But hiding mismatched joints in
the vinyl with the dragon design

is still a shot in the dark.

Amelia, though,
is making progress

and has laid some
of the pinstripes

on the black bodywork.

Last job is the rear spoiler.

Amelia feeds the dimensions
into the plotter,

which cuts the exact design.

AMELIA: We've put the image
into a design-and-cut software.

The next stage would
then be to vectorize it.

That gives us a solid cut
line from the exact shape

of the spoiler.

[upbeat music]

NARRATOR: The base of
the complex digital wrap

is almost laid.

They've done their
best to minimize

the joins in the pattern, but
the problem is all too visible.

MARK: All I can say is,
because of the vinyl,

this one of the hardest--

hardest cars we've done.

NARRATOR: Under the bonnet, this
car gets its awesome power from

a massive 6.5-liter V12 engine.

Boasting true supercar speed,
it can do 0 to 62 miles

per hour in just 2.9 seconds.

Yianni has been keeping a close
eye on this wrap on the CCTV

and is constantly
monitoring progress.

You up, boys?

You cool?

Yeah.

Looks good, doesn't it?

MARK: Yeah.

NICCO: Yeah.

How'd you get on over here?

We have to make some
joint in here again.

YIANNI: Hopefully the
dragon will hide this.

I'm going to have to have a look
at it when the dragon is on.

What have you got left to do?

We've still got to
do the back panel.

We're going to
start on the dragon.

OK.

All right, guys, keep it up.

The wrap looks great, but
the finish is not ideal.

It's not Nicco and Mark's fault.
Right now, I'm really nervous.

I'm waiting for them to
put the dragon on the car,

and I'm hoping it will hide it.

I'm not so sure.

[suspenseful music]

NARRATOR: It's deadline
day for both supercars.

The final element Jack requested
is for the RS in the logos

to match the champagne wheels.

Sorted.

NARRATOR: There's no such
thing as a simple job

in the wrap world,
and this design

has caused real headaches.

Yianni knows Jack is
an exacting customer,

so the stripes must be
absolutely inch-perfect.

YIANNI: Perfect.

When someone just
wants detailing,

sometimes less is more.

I think he's got it
bang on the money,

and I'm really happy
for him to see it.

[upbeat music]

NARRATOR: Jack arrives, but will
he see eye to eye with Yianni

on his latest design?

Jack.

- Good afternoon.

one's different.

YIANNI: You want to see it?
- Yeah, please.

YIANNI: Wait there.

[knocks]

[suspenseful music]

[dramatic music]

It's not too much--
subtle, thin pinstripe.

You've done it again.

YIANNI: You were nervous.

But now that you've seen it?

Amazing.

So happy with it.

It just looks perfect--

plates, the rear diffuser.

I wouldn't add or
take anything off.

The critical moment has arrived.

The dragons are being
laid to hide the lines

on the rear quarter of the car.

It looks good.

But as the car is off on
a cross-continental rally,

these delicate designs must
be superheated into place.

MARK: I am so happy with
how it looks right now.

It looks mean.

[growls]

NARRATOR: Pav fits the car
up ahead of collection.

He knows everything
must be 100% right,

as the customer is heading
straight to the rally

A short turnaround, a rare
car, and a complex design--

Yianni really gave his
team a tough time on this.

This is definitely one of the
best we've ever done here.

It just looks part of the wrap.

It looks fantastic.
