more work when an old friend turns

NARRATOR: But back in the workshop,

the boss's plans come unstitched.

There is a delay on the lever.

I don't want a car here for four days dead.

NARRATOR: It's a new day at the garage,

and outside, a luxury SUV is rolling towards the unit.

Ex-professional snooker player, Carl, has had a bold wrap

done by Yianni before.

His son, Jack, is taking over this Range Rover,

and he's here to sink the black and get amongst the colors, too.

YIANNI: Carl, my man. - Hello, Yianni.

How are you, mate? - How are you?

Are you well? You good?

You all right? Jack, what's happening?

Good, thanks. YIANNI: You well?

Yeah. YIANNI: How you been?

Yeah, we're all good.

So, Range Rover Sport--

Yeah.

Whose car is it?

- Yeah, first car. - How old are you?

So you can't even drive.

No, not yet.

No, he's coming up to 17 soon, so we thought

we'd get it ready for him.

So was this your car originally?

Yeah, yeah.

We've had it in the family for five years--

pass it down to Jack.

How have you insured him?

It was tough.

We thought we'd struggle to start with,

but it's heavy money.

We got him done for 6,000.

How do you feel about that?

NARRATOR: This Sports edition has a wider, lower

stance than the standard model.

The interior is fully kitted out with high-grade leather,

but it's all going.

The client is spending nearly 8,000

to make it even more amazing.

Yianni has a trusted supplier specializing

in custom interiors who will completely transform it.

[upbeat music]

NARRATOR: The garage is busy.

Cars need to move in and out efficiently to make money.

Yianni has decided this job should take three days.

YIANNI: Yo, yo, yo, yo, yo.

So we got a Range Rover here.

Firstly, I just want to address something.

Can we talk about Terry's feet?

[laughter, exclamations]

Are you wearing your girl's flip-flops?

YIANNI: Did you?

Let's talk about the Range Rover.

Right, gloss black Range Rover.

OK, Nicco, Mark, you're going to love this.

We're wrapping it in chrome red, lower half.

But if you see around the lower half of the car,

it's in, like, a black plastic, which means the vinyl

won't stick to that.

We need to prep it.

We need to get it ready for wrap.

So you guys are going to have to strip all of that off.

Ah-ha. YIANNI: Terry--

Yeah, this has landed on us, now, hasn't it?

PAV: Yeah.

They got the chrome.

You got the strip.

One other thing-- full interior color change.

Whoa.

Something different!

YIANNI: It is a lot of work-- full interior.

So going black.

You're can have a red light stitching style inside.

OK. YIANNI: OK?

So they'll go to Milton Keynes and be done, then, obviously,

you guys are then going to fit it back up.

This car belongs to a 16-year-old boy.

YIANNI: This was his dad's car.

They've just passed it down to him.

So, obviously, guys fully strip the car down.

You guys wrap what you can until the stuff comes out

from the body shop, and then it's put it all back together,

and we'll have a happy customer.

Tell, get some new feet.

NARRATOR: This is a big car.

Across the exterior and interior,

there are over 80 parts which need to come off.

The main priority is the eight-part plastic body kit--

front and rear panels and three solid pieces on each door.

They can't be wrapped as they are.

They need to be sent away to a paint shop

to be rubbed down and primed. [music playing]

Everything's got to give me, man Give me, man

NARRATOR: It will take a full day to turn

around the body kit parts.

So time is of the essence.

[music playing]

Right now, right now

Right here, I said I'm going for the win

PAV: [whistles appreciatively]

NARRATOR: The exterior has taken Mike and Pav

four hours to strip, and they still have to tackle the inside.

I think the interior is going to take just as long to strip

out as what the car has.

Seats, four door card, set the dashboard--

Yep.

--airbag for steering wheel.

MIKE: Has one of those ever popped on you?

PAV: Of course.

I was looking for speakers, right?

And normally they're twisted pairs.

Yeah, yeah.

So I thought, hey, got to be one, isn't it?

No, you don't mess around them.

Of course, I probed it.

All of a sudden, this thing just went, bang!

I'll bet.

PAV: Let's crack on.

NARRATOR: All seven seats need to be removed and sent

to the supplier who will strip them and refit the new bespoke

black leather covers.

Each seat is held in place with special, high-strength safety

bolts, as well as being wired into the car's

electrical system.

Boomin!

Here we go, son.

Fucking hell, mate.

You done this before, you're saying?

All right, let's crack on with the back.

[upbeat music]

Mike?

MIKE: Yes?

I need to go to sleep, man.

I know you're not gone.

NARRATOR: The best way to remove the back seats is

to electronically fold them flat so they're easier to lift out.

Mind your arm--

armpit, I'm saying, on this bit.

That's it.

Well done, drippy.

NARRATOR: The seats are out.

But Pav has saved one job till last--

the airbag.

[dramatic music]

Now--

If the airbag goes off now, it's going

to push Pav out the tailgate.

Bad.

These are the stiffest plugs.

[dramatic music]

Trying to get this airbag off.

It's held in by some sort of spring,

so god forbid, if you do have an accident,

obviously it stays in place, but then it ignites.

So there's a little spring and a little catch back here.

And there you go.

Oof.

NARRATOR: It's taken Mike and Pav all day,

but the strip down is finished.

[upbeat music]

NARRATOR: Yianni loves a 4x4.

He's on his way in in his 85,000 Range Rover Velar.

[music playing]

What's happening?

NARRATOR: At the unit, with the body kit panels and the seats

sent away, now it's time for chrome vinyl specialist Nicco

and Mark to work their magic.

[music playing]

NARRATOR: The car's wide, clamshell bonnet

is an unusual shape, and this chrome vinyl is

only available in narrow rolls.

[music playing]

Make it happen.

Boy, this red chrome is looking nice.

NARRATOR: They have to wrap it in three sections

and have chosen two lines on the bonnet as a perfect place

to hide the joins.

Mark and Nicco are doing well.

The three-day SUV wrap is on schedule.

It's going to look nice.

I love it.

[dramatic music]

NARRATOR: Yianni needs to keep the cars

rolling through the workshop to maximize profit.

And up in the office, they keep a close eye on all the bays.

BERT: Yan?

Hmm?

Simon's been in touch about the leather on the Range Rover.

Basically, they can't open the two rear seats

without them being in the car.

So they need to put them back into the car, power them

up, open them, take them out, take them back.

And it gets better.

There is a delay on the leather.

Why?

BERT: Because it's a seven-seater,

apparently the middle seats have got

a different template to a standard five-seater Range.

OK.

So he's saying there's going to be at least a four-day delay.

Four days.

Four days.

We've got a car now with no interior.

So it's a dead car sitting in the bay.

So it's a dead bay.

Yeah.

Plus, obviously, the wrap, which, obviously, takes time.

That four days has just extended the length of the time

the car has to be here now.

I don't want a car here for four days dead.

[suspenseful music]

NARRATOR: It's 8:00 AM, and Reece from the custom

interior company has arrived.

The seats will only respond to the unique electrical system

and codes from the brain of this car.

So, what, this is all just to relever, yeah?

You need the seats up?

Yeah we tried to power it at work, but none of it.

None of it.

All righty, fair enough. Right.

Grab one end.

Let's go inside.

Oh, yeah, you got it?

All right, let's see if this opens up.

Oh, there we go.

[suspenseful music]

Is that all you need? - Yeah.

So we're perfect. Done.

Not quite.

We're ready to go again.

That's it.

NARRATOR: With the seats raised, Reece

can complete the three-hour round

trip to take them back to be kitted

out in the new black leather.

[upbeat music]

This is a beast of an SUV with a top speed of 130 miles per hour.

It has a built-in terrain response system to adjust

for optimum driving conditions, and all-wheel drive mode

comes as standard.

[upbeat music]

Despite the delay on the leather interior,

Nicco and Mark still need to crack on with the wrap.

This car has huge panels, but they're flatter than a supercar,

so they're easier and faster to wrap.

The brothers are making progress.

The wrap is going well.

[chill music]

[upbeat music]

NARRATOR: It's a new day.

The seats still haven't arrived, but the first parts

of the body kit are back.

[music playing]

We're moving on the low

We're getting in the

NARRATOR: To be sure the chrome vinyl will stick

to the plastic parts, Nicco and Mark apply a primer glue

around the edges of each panel.

We need some extra stick on this one.

NARRATOR: Little tricks like this

make sure the finish is perfect, and the client is 100% happy.

I think it's looking good at the moment.

At the moment.

[suspenseful music]

NARRATOR: Gluing the panels worked.

Now it's over to Mike to piece the car back together.

[upbeat music]

MIKE: These particular panels have got locators,

so they really can only sit in one position,

as long as all the clips are in the right places.

[upbeat music]

NARRATOR: The wrap is complete.

The exterior is refitted, but the collection is on hold

until the seats are delivered.

Yianni can't afford to have a dead bay in the unit,

so he takes a chance and moves the car

outside with no interior.

Upstairs, Bert has to work his magic and find another client.

BERT: [humming]

[suspenseful music]

NARRATOR: Luckily, someone answers his call,

and they're available to drop their car off that day.

A white Porsche takes the slot.

But it's another white car which attracts Yianni's attention.

Wow.

Look at that.

NARRATOR: Gengiz is a car dealer friend who loves classics.

Yo.

I'm coming down.

NARRATOR: Yianni is always hopeful that these social visits

will lead to business.

Wow.

Look at this.

How are you?

Good.

BMW.

You're bringing me a CSL?

GENGIZ: Come and show you this baby.

YIANNI: Look at this.

GENGIZ: 3 liter, 1973.

Three years older than me, this car.

I like the stripes on the side.

GENGIZ: That's part of the Alpina look they had back then.

Can we look underneath?

GENGIZ: Definitely.

It's a 3 liter, straight-six engine, 206 brake,

which was a lot back in 1973.

Yeah.

It's like a trolley cart now, though, isn't it?

It's got that old-school engine smell.

Beautiful.

I love that smell.

Stripes work.

I'm loving the bucket seats in there, as well.

But it's not about white, is it?

No, we actually want to do a color change.

Woo-hoo, finally!

I'm going to go canary yellow.

I've got the perfect yellow for this on a wrap.

I'm going to have to paint this one.

Really?

GENGIZ: This originally was canary yellow.

And if I get it back to the yellow paint,

it's worth double the value from 120--

You know what?

Paint it, then.

If that's the case, for once, I'd be like, paint it.

But I still need you.

I want you to do the stripes--

YIANNI: Oh, OK. That's cool.

GENGIZ: --all around, replacing what there is.

Andrew collected the re-upholstered seats at 8:00 AM.

The new luxury leather seats cost the client nearly 8,000.

The pressure is now all on Mike and Pav

to get this job over the line.

Right, yeah. Front seats--

What, are we starting this again, yeah?

Oh, I've got them there. - You've got them in?

Yeah.

NARRATOR: They're using an air compressor

gun to tighten the heads.

[upbeat music]

It's heavy.

NARRATOR: Five seats down, two to go.

[suspenseful music]

NARRATOR: The seats have to be fitted and plugged up.

But having been driven around in the back of a van,

will the delicate switches still work?

[suspenseful music]

The seats are in, the whole car is finally finished.

[dramatic music]

The chrome wrap has been on the car for more than three days.

Yianni must check for any signs of lifting,

particularly around the body kit.

He also wants to make sure that the new leather

interior is spot-on.

He knows how important this car is to Jack.

It looks amazing--

chrome red wrap, the full custom interior.

I really hope Jack likes it.

[upbeat music]

NARRATOR: A few days later than expected,

Carl and Jack have arrived.

Jack has been waiting.

But is he really ready for this total inside

and out transformation?

- Jack. - Doing good.

JACK: Yeah.

You look very nervous.

I'm so, so nervous.

Why are you nervous?

Because I'm looking forward to seeing the car.

I don't know who's more excited, me or him.
