Um, because I thought, you know, it really connected to me with,

like, my anxiety and everything like that.

For someone who struggles with performance anxiety,

I think her major challenge is going to be

how is she going to overcome those nerves

or use those nerves instead of letting them use her.

Your Mum got in touch with me and she sent me this video.

Did she? Oh, my god.

I thought that when Alyssa saw herself,

it might take her back to a time

before she knew about nerves.

Before she knew about performance anxiety.

My hair was so gross back then.

How old were you?

I think I was like 14 there.

Yeah. Even at 14, you had an amazing voice.

Tell me about that little girl.

What do you think she might have to say about

the woman sitting next to me?

Oh, she was very shy.

Yeah? She still is a little shy.

But back then, even though,

you know, I love to sing all the time,

I just didn't like doing it in front of others.

Like, I didn't like showing people, you know, what I could do.

It was really difficult for me.

My anxiety has been there for a long time.

Being on the show,

it's definitely helped with boosting my confidence a lot.

And yeah, I'm very grateful for that.

and that anxiety is actually led you

to discover this incredible gift that you have.
