Wayne.
Wayne.
Wayne.
Ladies and gentlemen.
Violent crime is on the increase.
Over 80 % of the population want a return to capital punishment, yet
our members of Parliament consistently vote against it.
This campaign was formed in response to, or should I say, because of the lack
of response of our elected members of Parliament.
I would like now to introduce you to someone who has had first -hand
of murder.
Our candidate, Mrs.
Joanna Gillan.
Breathe, Pauline.
Please.
Please breathe.
She's gone to work.
You go to sleep now.
Eight years ago, a police inspector called Frank Cassidy was
murdered while out of uniform on a Glasgow street.
He tried to stop a masked gunman making his escape from a building society he
had just robbed.
He was knocked unconscious with the butt of the gun and died three days later,
never regaining his consciousness.
Frank Cassidy was my husband.
My sister and I were with him at the time.
His murderer, Hugh Kidson, was given a life sentence.
But in a few years, he will be eligible for parole, to walk free. He can come
back into society.
My husband cannot come back.
