I'm Jackson Galaxy. I'm a musician by
night.

and a cat behaviorist by day.

I've met cats with all kinds of
problems.

But I've never met one I couldn't help.

Oh, hello.

In my career, I've worked with thousands
of cats one -on -one, analyzing their

behaviors and retraining them and their
guardians.

When relationships are at an end, I
don't have many more options than to

leave. And cat guardians have reached
their emotional limit. Just get rid of

her. I'm their last hope.

Are you all right?

Sorry, I don't know. Cats have nine
lives, but humans only have one.

I'm heading over right now to see Derek
and Ryan and their cats, Buddy and Lita.

Now, Buddy has been beating up Lita so
badly that she's growing up all over the

house, and Derek wants to kick Ryan and
Lita out of the house at this point. I'm

going over there to take care of the
human bully and the feline bully.

I'm Ryan.

I'm Derek.

And we've been living together with our
cats for five months.

My cat is Lita. She's been a very unique
cat from day one.

My cat's buddy. He's a wild, macho,
awesome cat.

He's a bully.

He pounces on her and beats up on her.
He's an instigator. He likes to provoke

and sort of... He's trying to get her
off from underneath the bed where she

hides every day, all the time.

What's the point of having her if you
never even see her?

I'm sure that he's going to just... Kill
her.

I like that about my cat because she's a
macho cat.

I have found piles of vomit all over the
place.

I think if your cat wasn't bullying my
cat, then she wouldn't be throwing up.

There's a pile of vomit right here that
she never got around to cleaning up.

I didn't know. I found a pile of vomit
on one of the chairs on the microfiber,

which is killer because now it's
stained.

She had thrown up on my pillow.

Well, she only throws up on your stuff,
on your side of the pillow. Oh, well,

that makes it okay. I think the fact
that Derek is putting the well -being of

his apartment over me and our
relationship, I think it's hurtful.

I have told Ryan, point blank, if our
cats cannot get along, you will probably

have to leave.

I can't deal with it anymore.

If this didn't work out and I had to
move out, I would be devastated.

And I'd get some sleep.

Personally, I don't think anything can
be done for our cat. I mean, a cat

whisperer, I feel like it's hocus pocus,
but I guess we'll see.

Jackson, please come help because our

do not get along at all. They're

Throwing up all over the house.

I can't get her to stop throwing up. I
feel like it's distress of Buddy

with her. Maybe that's what's causing
it. Okay. So we have fighting cat,

cat.

Oh, and my cat doesn't like him.

Lita is your cat? Yes. Doesn't like you.

Where has that left you guys?

I'm doing everything I can to keep this
relationship together, to keep us

together, to keep the cat.

from killing each other.

Ryan doesn't want to rattle anything.

She doesn't want to rattle Derek's
world.

And that is no way to live whether
you've got two legs or four.

Your connection with Buddy, tell me
about that.

He's just the best cat I've ever had.

He's a macho cat. He's a man cat.

He plays rough, but he loves it.

So you like his behavior.

I think it's hilarious.

I'm in this house for five minutes when
I find out that Buddy is... bullying

Lita so badly and beating on her so
badly that she's throwing up all over

house. And at the same token, Derek
thinks this is funny somehow.

Do you ever stop it? Well, she usually
yells at me. First of all, like, your

damn cat's attacking my cat again.

Yeah, okay. I don't care for Lita. Why I
care about a cat? That doesn't want

anything to do with me. You seem almost
like you have washed your hands at this

point. I have.

So if you've washed your hands, why am I
here?

Because Ryan believes in you.

Ryan believes you can fix it.

We've had our little disagreements about
that, too.

I knew from the get -go that it wasn't
his idea that I was there. It must have

been Ryan's idea.

Derek has that same kind of bullying
vibe about him that his cat does. I

he will dominate the conversation, and
in the meantime, Ryan is just sitting

there looking for approval, not really
speaking her mind, and her cat is doing

the same thing, huddling in corners,
evidently, and getting beat up at every

turn. That stuff's got to change.

What I need to do is take a look at
where things are going down, and of

There was a point where I said, enough.

So we're on our way to the bedroom, and
I happen to notice Buddy standing in the

doorway, and he's playing with a toy.
He's just a normal cat.

Of course, I also noticed the doorway
next to him is ripped to shreds.

I got to take a close look at this.
Yeah.

Wow, man. He chipped away at it. Yeah.

Was he locked in here?

No. No?

What's he trying to get at?

Nothing. Nothing.

He was just trying to scratch.

Yeah. The door jamb by the bathroom was
taken apart like a scratching post. You

know why that is? It's because Derek
doesn't really care.

Derek doesn't care. He's actually, I
think, a little proud of the fact that

big boy is destroying the house. Whereas
Lita pukes on his shirt and it's life

over. We've never had a scratching post.

The damage was already done.

Just let him go for it.

Lita hangs out. Under the bed. In the
corner.

I know it's kind of crazy out here,
right?

I know things are dire when we have
Buddy in the doorway playing with a toy

Lita fearing for her life under the bed.

So I pull out my cat cam, which is
basically a camera on the end of a pole.

use it with scared cats who are removing
themselves from me. I don't want to be

that guy in this instance who's going to
push their challenge line to that

degree. So what I'm going to do is bring
the camera to them, get those kind of

responses from their body that I
wouldn't be able to see otherwise.

Lita, I want to see you a little better.

The camera lens close to her and then
sort of retreated it away, and I thought

it seemed a little bit like a mini
confidence -building exercise.

I don't see how that's helpful.

Hi, honey bun.

One more up close and personal.

When I reached out for her with the cam
and pulled it away again, she had a

little bit of curiosity. She wanted to
know what that was.

That, with a petrified cat, is a huge
moment.

Okay.

Man. Did I see a lot today? The level of
bullying coming from cat to cat

reflected the level of bullying going
from human to human, and neither one is

okay. I'm really concerned about Lita. A
good reason why she's throwing up as

much as she is is stress.

I also know that Buddy's a bully.

Hearing Jackson say that this is Buddy's
fault and that Buddy's a bully kind of

pissed me off a little bit.

What I want for you guys, obviously I
want you to stay together.

I want to see, most importantly, Lita
come into her own a little more.

Buddy pulled back. His bullying
tendencies have got to stop.

How am I going to train him to not use
the doorframe?

Derek did not like talking about the
reality of his cat being a bully. So, as

Derek always does, he steered the
conversation back into his favor.

What I'd like you to do is you use
something called sticky paws.

And sticky paws are just double -sided
sticky tape that won't take anything

else. Well, your door frames are done
anyway, but it won't take anything else

off the doors. But basically, he'll walk
up to the door. He'll be like, oh,

well, that's no fun.

Okay. Next homework assignment.

I want to see playtime being done.

Lita's playtime is about exploration and
confidence building. You guide her out

from under the bed, through the valley
of the shadow of death, out the door and

out here. Then I want you to have
mealtimes. You put the food down, let

eat, especially on either side of the
door so they can smell one another and

at the same time.

Walk away, everything's great. Derek,
you're Santa Claus when it comes to

You're the one who feeds three times a
day. You're the one who gives treats. No

treats come from you at all. Derek is
going to be the only person feeding

cats because somehow he's got to be a
good thing to Lita. And every time food

presented, it's going to be by him with
a soft voice and a nice presence. Derek,

I know that you feel like you've kind of
washed your hands of this whole thing.

Buddy, and that behavior was being
supported by Derek.

What I'm hoping is that Ryan stood up
for himself a little bit, and maybe Lita

has found some self -confidence.

Good. How are things going?

Not so well.

Well, what's going on?

Ryan and I are no longer together.

Oh. Yeah, Ryan and I are no longer
together or living together.

Didn't see that one coming. Ryan and
Derek broke up. She moved out. I guess

one way that's good, because Lita
doesn't have to worry about being beat

Buddy anymore, but Lita threw a twist in
things. Well, is everything okay here?

Yeah, everything's good. Buddy's good,
back to his normal self.

With regard to Ryan and I, there's just
more problems between us, really, than

there were with our cats.

And so, you know, we just decided it was
best that we end things.

Derek tells me that Buddy's okay.

Everything's fine here. He's back to
normal. So I can walk away from here

knowing that things are good. But I
still have to check in with Lita and

think a lot of damage has been inflicted
on Lita. I don't really know how

quickly she's going to bounce back.

Hey, Ryan, it's Jackson.

Yeah,

no, Derek told me.

No problem. I'll be right there.

I'm here at Ryan's new place and I'm
here basically to help Lita raise her

confidence up because now she's in a
brand new environment.

Hey, Ryan.

How are you? I'm good. But I'm also here
to help Ryan's confidence because I'm

sure it's taken a hit as well.

Let's just get this out of the way.

What the hell happened?

We just had bigger problems than our
cats, for sure.

Yeah. If I had to move out, I would be
devastated.

And I'd get some sleep.

Being with somebody that you love for a
year and then not having that person in

your life anymore is definitely hard.

And it takes a little bit of a toll on
my confidence, for sure.

Even when I left.

Were you guys able to start working on
the problems with the cats?

The problems between the cats themselves
were getting a little better. Derek and

Lita's interactions weren't really
getting much better. She hated him.

This is what Lita does when Derek tries
to touch her.

She's not throwing up anymore, which is
great. As soon as you left that

environment, boom, she stopped throwing
up. Yeah. To be completely honest, this

has never happened to me before. I've
never been working with a couple who

splits up in the middle of working with
them, and yet one part of the couple

still wants me to work with them. But I
know that Lita needs me, and Ryan needs

me as well. And I'm here for the long
haul with these guys.

I'm really more invested than I ever
was. There was this point where I was

through a similar situation, and I
hadn't been on my own.

for a while, you know?

And I lived with one of my cats, total
scaredy cat. This is her.

When we moved out, I got this done.

She's sort of representative of throwing
off shackles. I think that sort of

helps to bond him and I a little bit on
a different level than just the cats.

You know, we put things on ourselves to
remind us every turn that...

We survived, you know? I could talk
about tattoos all day, but what was most

important to me at that moment was to
see Lita and get her back on her

proverbial and literal forefeet.

What are you doing, poor little thing?

I know.

You're like, I don't like men anymore,
you see?

Yeah. You see what happens?

Why don't you hang on to her for a
second? I'm going to go back out. Okay.

Go get my guitar case, because I'll tell
you what. She might not like me, but

she's probably going to like some of the
things I got in there. All right.

Now. I know.

Lita is nowhere near confident enough
with men.

Her whole body is shaking.

Oh.

What is that, lovey?

I know, I know.

It's okay.

Baby, I know.

Just because Buddy's not here in
physical presence doesn't mean his ghost

here. The trauma is something that
Lita's going to live with for a while.

If you get her interested in smelling
that food right there, I'm going to keep

my hands away from her.

She doesn't trust other people's food.

I wanted to get low. I wanted to get
quiet.

I wanted to offer her food, something
Derek never did. You're okay.

I know, that's a lot.

Oh, there we go.

She actually responded, and she took
some of the treats from him, and it was

shocker to me, for sure.

Now, as long as she's eating, if I'm
concerned, life is getting better. The

upset that Ryan got in the past, the
more upset Lita got.

Now, I think that there's this thing
being put out by Ryan that she's like, I

finally have this chance, so I have no
time to waste. I've got to help this cat

find her confidence.

So I'm going to start giving you
homework. The first thing you're going

unpack your life, okay?

Settle in.

Lead it. You're going to reflect that
confidence that you have in your new

jump outside, grab something for you,

Lita needs what I would call confidence
-building blocks. We're going to put

these blocks in the middle of the room.
She's going to be able to go up them and

down them, in and out. She's going to
know what it feels like to own

She's going to experience life as a
confident cat. What you're going to do,

can get bunches of these blocks and just
sort of pyramid them up.

Okay. They become this cool staircase.

She comes up here, lands here, right?

Take her through it with favorite
treats. You ever done something like

before with her?

No. Baby food's totally fun.

I love using baby food for cats. They
come in stages. The first stage for

infants is like a hoop, but the second
stage, that's where we want to live.

That's the place where it's just meat
protein.

That's what turns on the cat, and it's
safe for them, too.

Like human baby food?

Totally. Yeah, I have never heard of
feeding a cat baby food. I don't promise

lot of things, but I can promise you,
you stick to it, we're going to have a

breakthrough. Okay. Right on. All right.
I don't think Lita will immediately

take to the confidence block.

I think it's going to take a lot of
effort and a lot of attention.

So I need to really just sort of settle
in here. So I'll see what I can do.

I'm here for my final visit with Ryan
and Lita. Now, the last time I was here,

Ryan's confidence was low because she
had just moved into a new apartment

her breakup with Derek. Now, I've
already taken a look at Ryan's homework.

I got to see Lita using her confidence
building blocks.

I got to see that Lita was following the
spoon with the baby food all over the

place. That baby food was working really
well.

Hey. Hi.

How are you, Ryan? I'm good. How are
you? I'm great. As I walk in to talk to

Ryan today, first of all, you notice
that she's moved in.

The second thing is, there's an air of
confidence about this girl now.

Oh.

Hi. Look at how smiley you are and
everything. How's life?

Life's good. Yeah?

Yeah. She's coming out from under the
bed more often. She's not hugging the

walls anymore. She's walking in the
middle of the room.

Already? Mm -hmm. That's great. I'm
pretty stunned, actually.

This whole process has helped Alita a
lot with her confidence.

Things are a lot better, I think, with
her and with me as well. We're both sort

of, you know, recovered from the trauma.
She usually yells at me. First of all,

like, your damn cat's attacking my cat
again.

Yeah. Okay.

You look a lot better. Thank you.

This is not a person living with shame
and regret anymore. She's living in her

own world. She's happy about it, and
she's feeling full of herself, and I

seeing that.

Now, we're looking over at the boxes.
Let's get up and see these confidence

blocks in action.

Now it's Alita's time. Let's bring her
out and see what she does.

Lita took really well to the baby food,
like way better than I thought she was

going to.

Oh, good girl.

Now the baby food idea worked perfectly
on Lita and enticed her onto those

confidence building blocks where nothing
else would.

That's a good girl. Now this is
confidence 101.

The first time I met Lita.

Now, hell, I didn't even meet Lita. She
was hiding under the bed in terror of

Derek and Buddy, me included. This time
I come in, she's on her confidence

-building blocks. She solicits touch.

She wants to be pet. She is not that
terrified cat I met just four weeks ago.

Good girl.

Like, how can I get in there? But I love
it. No, I love the fact that she's

exploring even that way. Lita is no
longer being bullied.

She's in her own environment, and
she's...

Responding really well to having the
whole place to herself and not having

buddies sort of looming over her
shoulder. The other thing I got to say

really love is that in terms of me kind
of getting into this inner circle here,

it didn't take too long, you know.

She does have to reassociate a little
bit of the man vibe.

Yeah. I look over to Ryan for a second
there, and there she is mirroring that

confidence back. This is a woman who's
finally home. Sorry I didn't have a

housewarming gift.

I kind of wish that I had something to
bring over here, you know, but I don't.

But I got another idea, so it's a good
surprise, I think. All right.

I didn't get Ryan a housewarming gift,
but I think I got her something better,

and I think she'll agree.

Ryan and I were talking a lot about each
one of her tattoos, what they meant to

her. I decided that maybe we should go
get one together. This journey that

just been through, leaving Derek, you
will probably have to leave.

And moving in to her own place with Lita
meant a lot to her. And I thought that

she might want to get that immortalized
on her skin. And hey, I'm always up for

a new tattoo. Are you getting a Lita
tattoo right now? I am.

Really? That's nice. Thank you.

I am glad that I could get something for
you that's permanent, that represents

Lita, that represents your bond with
cats. I mean, you've had a long trip,

You know, in addition to being, you
know, the cat behaviorist, Jackson

he was sort of like a therapist to me a

Jen's cat princess puppy pants.

Jen tells me the puppy pants is lashing
out at people and peeing all over the

house. That and a lot of pee.

Jen feels like she's on the verge of
losing her best friend and roommate,

Nicole. So I've got to get over there
right now to see if I can stop the

And we've been friends for about six
years and roommates for four.

I have a cat named Princess Puffy Pants
who is a long -haired tortie. We do call

her Kitty.

And I have a dog named Lola.

And I have a cockatiel that we call
Bird. All the animals get along

it's great.

When I first brought Princess Puffy
Pants home as a little kitten about six

months old, everything was fine. She
learned how to use her litter box.

But then she became very...

Territorial.

When there is another cat that comes
into our yard, Princess Puffypants goes

nuts.

She hisses.

Don't hiss at me.

She will turn and bite and scratch you.

Oh, see?

It's okay, kitty.

Hey.

One night, she heard a cat outside. So
she springs up, runs across the top of

the couch.

Her back paws landed on my face. I had
cuts that were bleeding.

She's also peeing all over the place.

And we have a lovely pee -pee spot that
is reek of pee -pee.

This situation with the cat peeing has
put restraint on our friendship.

I don't like to have people over because
it stinks and it's embarrassing.

She'll text me, like, when I'm at work.

Hey.

And I'm like, okay, well, I guess I'll
leave work now.

So she'll clean it up, even though it's
my cat that's doing it. I mean, I keep

after it because I am a neat freak. I
have tried everything.

I have gone through, you know, hundreds
and hundreds of dollars.

I have purchased I don't know how many
different kinds of miracle advanced

formulas so she wouldn't mark again.

I am looking at a...

moving out and just being by myself with
my cat, or I'm going to have to get

rid of the cat, and that will be awful.

She is my little girl, and I love her
dearly.

Hey. Hey. How are you? Hi. Good.

I'm Jen. Hey, Jen and Jackson. Nice to
meet you, Jackson. Nice to meet you as

well.

I am telling you, this place stinks.

I mean, it smells so bad in here that my
eyes almost started tearing. Let's talk

about the obvious here. Okay. Because if
there is an elephant sitting in the

room, that elephant smells like a big
pile of cat poop.

I know. It's awful.

Princess Puffy Pant is taken to marking
all over this couch that we're sitting

on almost daily. She doesn't even use
her litter box anymore.

Ever? Just to poop. Just to go poop
every now and again.

There is a huge gap between human
thinking about litter boxes and cat

about litter boxes. For a cat, it's a
holy place.

It's a place where I put my scent, and
because I put my scent here, I own this

place. Tell me all the things you've
tried. One of the suggestions, which

tried, is to put foil around whatever
they're peeing on, but sometimes she

of figured out she can move it, or
she'll just go where it's not and pee.

The idea behind putting foil down where
a cat's peeing is that they don't like

the feeling of walking on that foil.
They don't like the sound and the

and that'll just be an aversive for
them. It'll just keep them away from

area. Also, we're trying to keep cats
from coming into the yard, and we read

that cayenne pepper is a deterrent.

So we sprinkled that all over our
garden, all over the tops of the fence.

And then they said eggshells in the dirt
supposedly keeps them out, but it

doesn't seem to make any difference.

From eggshells to lavender to cayenne
pepper, these are all kind of old wives'

tales. So we've got to be able to let
Puffy Pants say, I own this. This is

When we're trying to calm her down from
hurtling herself at the sliding glass

door to get to the cat outside, she'll
attack us or scratch or act out at us.

Oh, my God.

Puffy Pants' reaction really worries me.
Not only is she peeing all over the

place, but she's also redirecting her
aggression onto people, and she's

herself against that window with such
violence that it's seriously only a

of time before someone gets hurt.

Where's your line in the sand?

Do I not want my couch peed on? Yeah.

You know, it causes tension.

It did cause some fights. I can't deal
with this much longer. I have to do

something.

That.

Find a new place for her to live,
although who's going to adopt a cat that

all these issues? Right.

You know, move out by myself.

Yeah. These are the things I'm looking
at doing, like, within the next few

weeks.

Jen has let me know exactly how high the
stakes are. She gave me a few weeks to

figure this out because she's up to here
with the situation.

And it's time to take a tour through the
rest of the house.

The first place that we're obviously
going to take a look around would be the

couch. This is where she pees all over
the place, right? Yes, this is exactly,

especially right here. This is her
favorite side right here. This is it.

So as soon as you move this foil, the
smell comes up and kills you.

Of course she's not using the litter
box. This is her litter box. That means

that this is a really important area.
The design of the pee tells me it's a

panicky move.

I took the black light outside to see
what the neighborhood cats had to say

about Princess Puffypants, and the news
was not good.

Oh, look at that.

Yeah, there you go. As you can tell,
it's been raining here.

Yeah. But this is still fluorescent.

Your cayenne pepper's been washed away.

The pee is still here. Why? Because
that's how they mark underneath leaves.

You might as well clean up the
eggshells, too, because what you've been

has not stopped the pee.

That was quite a surprise. Since I'm
such a neat freak, like, it really,

just want to start cleaning already.

We got pee on the window.

No way.

You see it? The cats are marking
everywhere.

Of course Puffy Pants is going to
respond.

What I need to do now is meet her and
try to stop this behavior.

Hi, baby. She looks really nice and
relaxed. So basically, we have cats that

just hang here?

Like intruders.

Yeah. So, oh, wait, look, look, look.
Oh, that's that cat. Yeah.

I am going to sit right here and watch
it go down.

When Princess Puffypants saw the cat
outside, her demeanor instantly changed.

She hissed, and then she charged the
door.

Okay, you see that? Now that...

is the crux of the problem here. The
level of aggression that we're dealing

in this house, this isn't about you
guys, it's about what's going on

We can't be 100 % sure why the other
cats are coming into Puffy Pan's

I mean, she's been spayed, so the only
thing I can think of is that they're

coming over because they smell another
cat and they're trying to assert

themselves over her.

What can I do, Lola?

Look, I just may be a cat behavior
consultant, but I do love all animals. I

to see all the animals respond to each
other and make sure that one thing

they're not sweeping under the carpet is
acrimony between the animals. So I went

upstairs to see all the animals
together.

Lola could care less.

Yeah. She seems totally chill.

Also, really, I mean, again, not that I
didn't believe you guys, but in the

presence of dog and bird, she seems
absolutely fine. Yeah.

I don't know. I love this. The thing
that is amazing is that when you, it's

about, again, it's all about territory.

Here in this part of the territory,
she's not threatened. There's no

that comes from hanging out with the

apartment. This place smelled probably
worse than any home I've ever been to

before. So as soon as you move this
foil, the smell comes up and kills you.

was this behavior that was causing a lot
of friction between Jen and Nicole.

Hopefully at least something that I gave
these guys helped a little bit.

She was doing great, and I was really
excited.

She's not attacking us anymore.

was using the new litter boxes, but

unfortunately, we did have a setback.
Crazy incident.

And a cat wandered into the open sliding
glass door into the house. Yeah,

actually came in. That led to some
setbacks. Yeah. So she started urinating

the TV cabinet, and I don't know if you
can see. There's one there. Yeah, she

just did one today.

Ew. Why they're leaving that sliding
glass door open is beyond me. I mean,

can't expect Princess Puffypants to feel
safe while you're at the same time

inviting in all of the neighborhood
bullies.

The next thing I want to do is that the
last time I was here, I asked you guys

to shoot some video, which you did, and
I want to go over it with you.

Setting up the new litter boxes.

The good news here is that these guys
are at least being proactive and they're

doing the homework I asked them to do.
They blacklit all over the place so they

could see where Puffy Pants is still
peeing. They put the air blasters all

around the couch. Not just one, they got
four. She's not peeing on the couch

anymore, but she is peeing on the TV
stand.

just scored.

We still have critters coming right over
the fence here. It doesn't matter if

you... block off the couch. The bad side
is I gave them an air canister to put

in front of the sliding glass door, and
it wasn't there.

You know, listen, this is why you must
leave that canister out all the time. We

know pee out there, pee in here.

Now, we need to get up, walk around, see
all the progress we've made from the

last time I was here. The most important
thing is outside. We've got to go back

out there and see where these guys are
coming from and how we can fix it.

On your video, we thought the possum was
right here. And you can see that

something has slid in.

Jen and Nicole knew that animals coming
into the yard was a big problem. So why

they didn't do anything to protect it is
completely beyond me.

This is still another animal's home

Such a sweet little thing.

The first time I met Princess
Puffypants, she was totally stressed

She had that gray hellion outside
trespassing and basically making her

nuts. What is that?

Today, she's a much calmer, more
confident cat, and that's just because

not feeling as threatened. But we still
have some work to do. That marking

behavior, for her, she's learned that
marking on things makes you feel better.

To me, it was, like, defiant. Like, pay
attention to me. Pay attention. Here I

am.

She had absolutely no fear about doing
it. Those are kind of human things that

we're putting on top of her, I think.
And I think, you know, by and large, we

really can start looking at cat
motivations.

Princess Puffypants is peeing all over
the house, not because she wants

attention, but because she's feeling
territorially threatened by the outside

cats. So let's talk about turning the
yard into Fort Knox. The first thing is

start filling in the holes or whatever
it was burrowed under. He's out.

If they happen to jump into the yard,
what I want you to do is I want you to

these things out there for me. Now, this
thing here, it's a motion -activated

sprinkler attachment, and as soon as
anything comes in its range, it'll get

wet. Now, this one here works with sound
and light.

You might want to cover your ears. All
right.

That's low.

Wow. I gave them some automatic blasters
through sound and light and water.

We'll let these animals know that this
is not the place to hang out. Now, let's

move indoors.

Jen, I don't want you to get rid of
Puffy Pants. I definitely don't want you

move out.

And I don't want to see you or Nicole
get hurt either.

Yeah, we have to basically keep the
sliders closed because it's just a

in and out. We cannot chance having a
rerun of what happened.

So turning our yard into Fort Knox, like
Jackson suggested, is kind of a tall

order. Personally, I'm skeptical that
it'll be a solution.

princess, Puffy Pants. When I walked in
here for my first visit, Puffy Pants was

peeing all over the apartment, and Jen
and Nicole's relationship was frayed.

Now, the video homework showed me a lot
of great things. They filled in the

holes, they installed the motion
-activated alarm, and the sprinkler

which worked.

Anything that comes into this yard is
going to get a rude awakening.

not going to smell pee. That is my big
dream for today.

So, it smells like you got good news for
me. She is back to her old self. No

more peeing. Are you kidding me? No. Not

I'm so happy with the progress she's
made.

There's no longer any incidents of
urinating anywhere in the house other

her litter boxes.

She's not interested in going outside.
She's a lot more content.

And I'm so happy to see that she's back
to her old self. We're so pleased that

we went ahead and we got a new couch and
it's being delivered tomorrow.

That is so cool. That is so cool.

Jen and Nicole buying a new couch is not
just going out and buying a new piece

of furniture. It's a leap of faith
because they made the world safe.

She's not going to pee everywhere. What
else? She hasn't launched herself into

the window.

Not once? Not once. She just chills and
looks out the window. We haven't seen

any cats in the yard. No cats.

No possum. No possum either.

Great. She's very content being inside.

Well, you know what that says also? That
says that you guys built a strong

perimeter. That you made it safe again.

The last time I was here, Jen and Nicole
didn't get the outside perimeter area

quite as I wanted them to do it. This
time, let's take a closer look. We got

sprinkler system down there. Yeah.

We've got the motion detector right
there.

We've had no animals in here.

The holes fill down here.

I love the cleanliness here. You've
cleaned up the plants. Wonderful. Now

A functioning and very loud and very
annoying motion -activated alarm system.

Hey, it works, right? That thing jangles
your nerves. It's loud.

It flashes light.

Anything that comes into this yard is
going to get a rude awakening.

Now, the one thing that I would say,
let's take a look at where you've

it, right? You've mounted it right here.

So when I walked by it, of course.

I would say possum, cat, not so much.

So I would take it right above this
plant right here. Just bring it about

far off the ground.

Really, it's about an animal that's
going to come in here. This is about as

as they get. Okay. And they're going to
set it off. And believe me, they're

going to head for the hills because I
just about did. I almost went diving

the fence myself. So wonderful.

And as I look down here as well, there
is no more mounds versus pee on the

window. Right.

It's really looking good, guys.

Now, the thing that I love is that the
last time I was here, it was some animal

leaving the perimeter of poo is what we
called it last time. You've devalued

this area.

So you've made it unattractive down
here. You said there's no need.

And, you know, I don't feel like
burrowing under because I can't really

under.

There's nothing to smell. Nothing's
attractive to me. All right, I'm moving

And this out here is Fort Knox, and that
makes that in there safe, home, and

that's why Puffy Pants is not peeing all
over your living room anymore.

reflected in her actions. And today, she

is puffy. Now she's puffed out. She's
secure. She's chest up, tail out. She's

walking around like she owns the place.

That's what a normal cat does.

Six years of friendship, and it was
straight into breaking because of the

opposite place of where we're getting

Stress is relieved. I don't have the
stress of trying to figure out, do I
