The one thing that was really important
to me was family. And I lost my dad in

2015.

My dad was a huge business professional
in the mortgage industry, and he worked

his whole life to give all of us
everything.

He had a $2 million life insurance
policy from my mother, but she didn't

because he died, transitioning from one
job to another job. And so launching my

insurance agency was very important
because I had to start a GoFundMe when

dad passed away.

And I don't want anybody to go through
what I went through and what my family

went through. When I was ready to launch
my insurance agency, I said, I had a

huddle with my sisters. I said, look,
this is our moment to all come together

and get money together.

Everybody was game.

But when I decided to sell the company,
that's when everything went south.

And I feel like our relationship has
been a little shaky.

We used to talk all the time. We used to
hang out.

And now it's like.

I never see my sister.

You push family so hard. I do.

That we shouldn't even be having this
conversation.

So we got to fix that. The relationship
with my two sisters, it has been very

difficult. I thought bringing my two
sisters to do business with me was going

be this huge success. My oldest sister
felt like I was too tough in the

workplace. So she just went her separate
ways. My middle sister, when I told her

I was selling the company, she got too
comfortable.

I had to fire her.

I love my family, but I still have a

and health aside to just make sure I was
good. So I can't even imagine my life

without them.

Last year was crazy with all the Shiloh

This year was me.

The ectopic pregnancy, and now Shia.

It's literally never ending.

Even right now, I'm talking to...

And I still don't even know what the
future is going to be like for Shiloh.

I've been through this journey before.

Right. And it trained me.

I gave my strength for my mom and my
sisters. Honestly, I don't even cry to

people. I don't even tell them half of
what I'm going through.

I'm good at just masking what I got
going on so that I can be there for you.

If I'm busy trying to help you solve
your problems, I just kind of forget

mine. I know you and Gia have had these
hard conversations.

You know, how do you feel after y 'all
talked? I'm nervous because even with

doing the IVF, I did seven rounds. My
estrogen levels would get so high, it

me at risk for strokes and blood clots.

I was asking him, what are you going to
do if these don't take? What's going to

be the next thing?

He's like, well, we'll cross that bridge
when we get to it.

I just want to make sure I have enough
love in my heart to give.

This whole journey has just been
overwhelming.

Even for my daughter, Shia, she would
say, I don't want you to be at the

hospital. Let Daddy go to the hospital.

Shia is thriving.

Shia doesn't even know her struggles.

That baby smiles so much and is the
happiest baby.

This baby has a purpose.

And I can't wait to see what it is. It's
so strong.

be transparent so that we can wrap this

and reviewed that filing, and she's
going to unseal it. What would come out?

person who is here now in Simon is not
my husband.

For the first time, I felt like you were
on an island all by yourself.

Normally, when you're going through
divorce, there is a point where the

and wife break away from maternity and
have a conversation.

Exactly. And I had reached out to his
pastor. I had reached out to one of his

younger cousins. And I had reached out
to his older uncles because, you know,

had the native cousins.

Exactly. By their tradition, the family,
you can ask them to assist.

But they basically said they weren't
hands off.

So on the American side, you file for a
divorce, and you let the court system

handle it. For Benin, the culture there,
you're supposed to be able to go to the

family. And I was very disappointed that
they decided they did not want to

intervene. They wanted the legal process
just to continue.

Is that pressure OK for you? I'm good.

So I was just like, OK. Because how do
you know you're healed if you're only by

And three of my daughters were actually
diagnosed with osteogenesis imperfecta,

which is a genetic disease.

Most of you know it as brittle bones
disease.

Chance, she was six weeks old, and I
noticed that something was wrong with

Chance's arm.

And I had my mom take me to the
hospital.

And I'll never forget, two police came
and stood in front of the door.

CPS won't let me leave.

We were stuck in Baltimore for probably
over a month.

I just remember that time just feeling
so low and so deep and just not knowing

what's wrong because they thought that I
was literally abusing my daughter.

If it wasn't for a foundation such as
OI, I don't know where we would be right

now. The doctor literally took a
flashlight, looked in her eyes, and

has OI.

And they said we could see the blue tint
around her eyelids.

And I was literally free to go home and
go back to my house with my kids.

I feel like it's a foundation that
hasn't had as much spotlight as it

it's affected me and my family in so

different ways.
