the Logitech g502x and the Razer

basilisk V3 are both excellent gaming

mice that are actually very similar to

each other so it can be confusing to

choose between the two hey guys I am

sadharth and let's have a detailed look

at them so you can select which one you

should go for

both of these mice have similar shapes

the razor basilisk feels a bit taller

and narrower compared to the g502x which

feels flatter wider and longer in

comparison so if you want a slightly

larger feeling Mouse you will like the

g502x better while the Basilisk V3 feels

slightly better while using fingertip

grip both mice feel equally good with

clock rib but you will get used to the

shape of either of them so both of these

are winners in this category that being

said if you care about the cables on

these mice the razor basilisk V3 does

have a much better feeling paracord type

cable that is way better than the cheap

rubber cable Logitech is using and this

type of cable also Glides better on

surfaces even if the overall difference

may not be serious

now looks are different from design

because it is about which Mouse looks

better in appearance and while I don't

think that RGB is essential in gaming

mice I have to say that I really love

the underglow RGB strip on the Basilisk

V3 and the rest of the RGB on the mouse

also gives your 12 year old inner child

the colorful gluey satisfaction that you

always loved it also lets you keep a

check on which profile your mouse is

using so Razer is definitely the winner

in this area

but weight can be the much more

important factor while selecting a

gaming mice and with a lack of RGB and

metal weights compared to its previous

version the g502x has shared a lot of

weight and at 89 grams it is

significantly lighter than the Basilisk

V3 with its 101 grams weight now 12

grams is not a big difference at all at

101 grams the Basilisk V3 also feels

pretty light to me but the trend in

gaming these days is to use the lightest

mice possible so objectively the g502x

Takes the Cake in this category the

primary buttons on both of these Smiles

use Optical switches with the Basilisk

V3 using a pure Optical switch and the

z502x using what Logitech calls light

for switches which are Optical switches

with the mechanical part to give you a

more tactile feel the Practical

advantage of using optical switches is

that both of these Smiles shouldn't

start double clicking like logitech's

earlier mice but I have to say that I

like the sound and feel of razors which

is better as they offer a sharp clicking

sound instead of of the Ring it her that

you find on the Logitech z502x

but some people may like feeling the

vibration of the click on the whole body

of the g502x or maybe the difference

won't matter to you as what kind of

touch you like can be quite subjective

but overall I personally like the

feeling of razors which is better so I

will consider it to be the winner in

this area the extra buttons on these

gaming mice become very useful while

gaming and even when you are not gaming

these buttons can be extremely useful

for using with productivity apps or even

while doing Simple tasks like web

browsing so even though the 5 extra

programmable buttons on the Basilisk

with here are going to be enough for

most people Logitech does have six extra

programmable buttons on its top and two

of these buttons are quite easy to press

so if you want a mouse with more buttons

the g502x will be better and it also

includes a rotatable sniping button that

can be disabled which makes it more

customizable

when it comes to their scroll Wheels

they both offer switchable modes which

let you toggle between a free spinning

mode and a regular ratcheting mode and

this is an essential feature for me and

Mis because it's just extremely helpful

while browsing the web or while using

apps like Premiere Pro both of these

mice also offer sideways tilting wheels

that can be used either as extra buttons

or for horizontal scrolling so you are

getting almost identical experience here

but the thing that makes the razor wheel

Superior is the fact that it has an

electronically switchable toggle for the

wheel compared to the mechanically

switching mechanism for the g502x and in

addition to giving you an extra

programmable button on the Basilisk V3

this also means that the Razer Mouse can

auto switch to free spinning mode when

you launch your browser while if you

launch a game it can auto switch to a

ratcheting mode and even though this may

not be a big deal it does make this

mouse feel smarter and more advanced so

I will give the win in this category to

Razer basilisk V3

the sensor on the vesselisk V3 is

razer's focus plus Optical unit that has

a resolution of 26000 DPI while the hero

sensor on Logitech g502x has 25000 DPI

but in Practical terms both of these

sensors are going to work equally well

for Fast Pace Competitive Gaming so both

of these mice die in this area one

advantage on the g502x is that it also

tracks decently well on glass even

though Logitech doesn't advertise it and

even though you will rarely use this

mice on glass it does become helpful on

some surfaces like on my Nano White

marble desk so just keep that in mind if

your mouse will also be on glass

surfaces

when it comes to software both the Razer

synapse and the Logitech G Hub provide

ample customizability and the ability to

add macros to different buttons and both

software also support Auto switching of

profiles when you launch different apps

which make both of these mice really

great for productivity even though the

Logitech Z Hub is more annoying to use I

will give both of these mice a tie in

this category Razer basilisk V3 has more

onboard memory slots which is not that

big of a deal so I am not counting that

as a serious advantage

so overall the Razer basilisk V3 has one

in more categories and it is also my

personally preferred Mouse between the

two but both of these mice are actually

really accident products that may be

preferred by you for different reasons

the slightly heavier weight on the

Basilisk V3 doesn't bother me and I like

its design and electronic scroll wheel

better I also find the feeling of clicks

on it to be better the cable on it is

better and personally I also use a

Logitech MX Master 3 for productivity so

the lack of two easily accessible

buttons on it compared to the g502x

doesn't bother me as I mostly use it for

gaming and even if I had to use it for

productivity the 5 extra buttons on the

razor are enough for me but if you are a

person that really wants a 12 gram

lighter mouse or if you want the two

more easily accessible extra buttons on

the g502x for productivity it is also a

very good choice that will not

disappoint you and it is really

impressively light for a mouse that

offers so much functionality the pricing

on both of these mice is similar but the

g502x may be more expensive at the

moment as it is a newer Mouse so you can
