Our Glamorous Time

Episode 1

Boss, how much are you selling this clothing for?

It's not for sale. It's for the distributor.

I really like it, just sell it to me.

Young lady, it looks like you have a good taste.

The old saying says: "Men look at the field. Women look at the lace."

This is an authentic old, hand-embroidered piece.

This craft has been lost for many years. You don't see these sold in markets these days.

Boss, I really like it, just sell it to me.

I'm studying fashion design. I've come to Yunnan to collect cultural materials.

Through this kind of traditional ethnic specialty clothing

I can find some inspiration.

Really. Just sell it to me, Boss.

I'll sell it to you, but it will cost eight hundred yuan ($115).

Eight hundred yuan isn't a problem.

Okay. Alright.

Did you come alone? Be careful of your safety.

Thank you.

- Okay. - Eight hundred.

Perfect.

Young lady, I"ll tell you a secret. Do you see that little village ahead?

If you go to that village, there are a lot of older people who do this type of embroidery. I don't usually tell others about this.

- Boss, do I keep going straight from here?- Yes!

Walk straight ahead and keep walking into the village.

Alright. Thank you, Boss. You're such a nice person.

We've got a target.

Young lady, where are you going? I can take you down this road.

It's not easy to walk ahead since it's full of mud.

No need, thanks.

Young lady, get in the car.

Shopkeeper?

I told you to get in the car and you didn't.

The Leech is the head of this criminal gang.

His armed forces are in Southeast Asia frontiers. They are principally engaged in drug trafficking,

human trafficking, smuggling arms - these kinds of criminal enterprises.

Right now, they have slipped into our country's border area of Yunnan.

It's a serious danger to the safety along our country's borders.

We've received orders from headquarters that our objective for this mission is to

kill the Leech and thoroughly attack and disrupt his power.

- Put on your camouflage. - Yes, sir.

Captain, we've successfully discovered all the land mines.

They've all been tagged, so we can safely pass through the minefield.

Has the Leech been confirmed to be inside?

It's confirmed.

Monkey and I will lead one team and sneak in from the suspension bridge.

Antelope will lead a second team and sneak in from the temple.

Grizzly Bear will lead a third team, responsible for placing the bombs.

Headquarters.

Headquarters receiving. Radio is functioning normally.

All of our men are in place near the target. Our force placement is complete. Ready to engage.

Headquarters received. Proceed with the operation.

Everyone listen to my orders. At 3:30 pm, be ready to act.

Calibrate your watches.

This is our last mission before leaving the army.

We need to ensure that nothing goes wrong.

- Bring her out. - Yes, sir.

Team one, pay attention. Enemy at nine o'clock.

Young lady, you really have bad luck.

Originally, we had found a young girl.

But she wouldn't obey, so we had to get rid of her.

So we had to find a replacement.

Not bad.

Young lady, don't cause trouble. Just adapt to the circumstances.

It's best to obey with this one injection.

Eventually, have a baby with our boss and maybe you'll be able to stay alive, right?

Okay. The needle's ready. Here.

Hold her down!

There's someone there!

- Hold her down! - Everyone take action!

The Leech ran off. Team two and team three, intercept him at the main building at eleven o'clock.

Team three received. We are now pushing forward to intercept.

- Monkey, provide fire cover for them. - Received.

To the main building. Quickly! Go quickly!

Go to the main building and get rid of them. Quickly!

Captain, my line of vision is obstructed. I can't shoot.

Boss. Boss,

The base. Something's happened at the base.

Get the weapons! Get the weapons! Hurry!

[Hospital]

How is that young lady?

She's been bandaged up and given an infusion.

Take good care of her.

Hello. Hello Yayi.

Xiao Qianqian, you've finally answered your phone.

What happened?

Take a look at your phone and see how many missed calls you've received. I was worried to death!

I... I'm okay now.

I can't explain clearly over the phone. When I get back, I'll tell you about it.

What's really going on? Just tell me what really happened.

Did you find romance in Yunnan and have run off to get married?

No.

I... It's nothing. Really, I'm fine.

I'll tell you when I get back, okay?

Okay, I'm hanging up then. I'll be expecting your call.

[Medical Center]

[Medical Center]

Doctor, where are the soldiers that saved me?

We've just treated their wounds and they already left.

They left?

Yes.

I haven't even thanked them yet.

That leg wound is quite serious. You need to rest well.

Then, can you tell me his name?

I can't tell you. Take care of that wound.

One, two. One, two.

Hello, Jinyuan.

Second Brother, Elder Brother, he...

What happened, Jinyuan? Why are you crying? Speak up.

A car was dredged from the waters in Lin Jiang. The driver died of drowning.

According to the police, the deceased was the President of Wenda Group, Li Zhiqian.

Right now, the police is investigating the reason of the death. The following is our detailed report.

[Resuscitation Room]

Recently, Mr. Ning Weikai made the cover of the new issue of Fortune Weekly Magazine.

He can be described as a representative and role model of the young talents of our Linhai City business field.

Can you share your experience in managing such a successful corporation with us?

Hard work, talent and professionalism.

These are all necessary elements for success.

Of course, you also need to know what the expectations are from the people around you.

Then what's your expectation for Xinbaorui?

A clear goal is crucial for every enterprise.

Our goal for Xinbaorui is to definitely become

the best high-level fashion company in China.

Well said, President Ning.

Next, let's ask President Ning

to draw today's second prize.

High level? When you stole our client last month,

I didn't feel like you were on a high level. Also, you plagiarized our design and sold it at the lowest price.

I dare you to have a fair competition.

Who plagiarized? Do you have evidence?

Also,

the design capability of your Simeiqi is simply no good.

Who are you saying is no good?

I said you guys are not capable.

- Who did you say?!- You guys!

President Ning is really impressive. Business trade and price warfare.

You are so good at it.

President Chen, you are not doing so bad either.

Your sales platform has been doing well.

Now you also gained an online sales platform.

Looks like all the sales platforms are dominated by you.

Would I dare to relax though?

That hand of yours is already reaching for my neck.

I can't wait until I get strangled to death by you, right?

There is another important guest for our event today. The Chief Editor of H Group, Ms. Grace.

You all must be very curious

about why I would be at Langde's launch event today.

I came because no matter how bright and beautiful the fashion industry is,

it cannot live without the clothing manufacturers.

Someone told me this.

But unfortunately,

he won't be able to come here today.

Before I give my speech,

I invite everyone here,

together with me,

for the recently deceased

President of Wenda Group, Mr. Li Zhiqian,

to stand in a silent tribute for three minutes. Thank you all.

Everyone, please stand up.

Stand in silent tribute for three minutes.

[Domestic Arrivals]

You guys get in the car first.

Recently at the Langde launching event, Chief Editor of H Group, Ms. Grace,

attended as a special guest. The accidental death of President of Wenda Group, Li Zhiqian,

might lead to a new order in the fashion industry in Linhai City.

The successor of Wenda Group will be the key to influence the Linhai's fashion industry.

I'm afraid of heights. I'm scared.

Everyone has to take their vote seriously, understand?

Sorry to interrupt.

Everyone, my dad isn't feeling very well lately,

so I'm attending the shareholder meeting today in his place.

If you have any questions, please feel free to raise them.

Today is the first shareholder meeting

after President Li Zhiqian passed away.

Wenda's market share has dropped down from 20%

to 8%.

The stocks are dropping. The one thousand employees of the company

are working without a president. A leaderless group.

There can't be any more delay on appointing the new president.

- Right now, my father is already—- Wenda belongs to everyone,

not just to the Li family.

We have our right of speech, too.

From now on,

we should hire someone with professional experiences

to be the CEO.

Little Qianqian, let me recommend you a romance novel.

"Canons fired by soldiers in those years." Please accept.

What is this? Get out of here. Don't distract me from work.

Why do I feel you tend to be distracted lately?

Are you thinking about what happened in Yunnan?

Is that military guy

six feet tall with a six pack?

And when he saved you,

did he give you a perfect profile

and hold you super tight in his arms?

Yayi, do you know that when you talk about things like this,

you are like a teenage girl looking for love? Your longing for love is written all over your face.

You're not dating, so are you feeding your imagination with those romance novels?

Come on, he saved you in Yunnan

but you don't even know his name or what he looks like.

Maybe you will never see him again in this lifetime. I'm really worried for you.

I wish I was the one being saved at that time.

Am I the one thinking too much, or you?

I'm looking for my inspiration, my Muse.

Do you understand?

Muse.

I can give you some inspiration.

Look at this, see if you find your Muse.

[Notification]

Rent increase notification!

Within a month, we have to pay the entire year's rent.

Say, the landlords right now are like vampires.

They just randomly raise the rent here and there.

All our cash was used to place an order at Wenda. If they don't deliver,

then we can't ship merchandise, and there's no incoming money.

But Wenda has delivered some already.

One hundred items in total. These past two days, I've sent out forty of them.

As long as we successfully deliver the party dresses,

the rent issue is resolved. We might even have some extra cash.

Alright, that's great. So you are actually working hard.

Hello, I have arrived at the location you gave me.

President Li, what are you doing?

What do you want? Why are you going so fast?

What's the situation of Wenda?

What situation?

Bro, I'm afraid of water. I can't swim.

- Answer my question.- Wenda's performance is going down year by year.

Before your Elder Brother died, he wanted to transform the company

into a company primarily focused on designs, but the design ability of our staff is really low.

We haven't found any suitable designer, so the reform wasn't successful.

How was the shareholder meeting?

Wenda's stock has already stopped trading. The shareholder meeting is just fighting for control.

So the situation of Wenda is very tough.

Do you have any solution for this?

I think you can't let go of the control. Wenda's CEO should be someone from the Li family.

Why did you do that?

Probing you. Under high speed, people's mind gets tense. Thus one won't lie.

You scared the hell out of me just to probe me?

I want to hear the truth.

If you want to know the truth, just directly ask me.

I'm the Vice President of the company. I will tell you.

The scariest in the battlefield is not your enemies, it's your allies who betrayed you.

What I want is a reliable teammate.

Someone I can lean on in the battlefield.

I hope we can work like that in the future.

Do you have to wear that wig?

You don't understand. We have so many different clothes in our store.

Of course we need to match different styles of clothes with different wigs.

So the customers will feel a different mood to buy our clothes.

For example, what you are wearing today,

let me find you a wig.

Every girl has one or two wigs nowadays,

so they can match their clothes with them

to look prettier.

Hello?

Are you the shopowner of Qianqian Smile?

Yes, I am.

I bought one clothing item from your store. What's wrong with your product?

The color has faded terribly. I have an important performance tonight.

What do you want me to do now? I'm going to report your shop.

No, please don't. Sorry, sorry. Where are you now?

I'm at the Sunshine Hotel.

Alright, alright. I'll come over right now to solve this problem. Wait for me there.

W-What happened?

- This is bad. Something happened.- What happened?

Yayi, you need to go check the deliveries from Wenda

to see if there's anything wrong. If there's an issue with the color fading,

please call the clients immediately and issue them a refund.

We need to minimize the loss. I'm going out now.

Okay, be safe.

What is this?

It's the third wash yet it's still fading so much.

Ms. Wang.

That severe?

I am the shopowner of Qianqian Smile, Lin Qian.

I'm so sorry to bring you such trouble. We didn't expect it. We'll double the refund.

Refund? Do you think a refund is useful?

Look at this dress, it's so embarrassing.

Please. I'm here for a performance.

You... How can I get on the stage now?

If I can't do the performance, then I won't be able to work here anymore.

Is this a problem that a refund can solve?

This... Ms. Wang, I'm really sorry.

That... I brought you another dress from our shop. It's your size.

Do you want to try it on for emergency purpose?

It doesn't fit.

It shouldn't be. I found this according to your size record.

The original dress is designed with ties,

so I purposely bought one size smaller, don't you know that?

A design with ties?

Ms. Wang, please hand me the dress and I'll fix it for you.

Chen Zheng, the current President of Simeiqi.

Simeiqi is the biggest internet brand name and operating company in Linhai City.

They mainly rely on online sales and fast-moving fashion products. Chen Zheng is someone

who is very good at online sales and generating gossips.

Therefore, he's an internet influencer who represents his own company.

Ning Weikai, the President of Xinbaorui.

Graduated from a famous British university. He's very low-key and steady.

Ever since he took charge of the company, Xinbaorui's sales skyrocketed.

He is considered a model for the young entrepreneurs.

- He always wanted to redefine the self-owned fashion brand—- Sit.

into high fashion.

President Chen, you have such refined interest.

Bring a glass.

Grace, President Ning of Xinbaorui and President Chen of Simeiqi are having dinner at the restaurant.

Li Zhicheng, the younger son of the Li family, is back.

No one really knows how he'll behave.

Do you have any information?

Li Zhicheng is someone who's mysterious.

I don't have any information either.

I heard that within Wenda, no one has seen him yet.

But as far as I know, he was a solider for years in the military.

He should have no experience with the fashion industry.

I'm guessing that he's not that hard to deal with.

No matter what, no one really knows who will gain control of Wenda.

Such a delicious piece of cake,

why don't we share it?

Well said.

I'll arrange another great scene over at Wenda.

When a wall is about to collapse, everyone gives it a shove. I've already written the script.

But I'm very curious about Grace's real motive for coming today.

My motive isn't important.

The important thing is that you two are

enemies in front of people but allies behind the scene. This would surprise everyone.
