My mom never came to holidays and things
like that with us before.

But after the affair, my mom started
coming over to my house

for every holiday.

And Emily is grateful for that.

But, I mean, most of the time, it would
usually end in a fight. And after every

holiday, I'd be like, why do I invite
her?

Well, I think that's natural that, like,
we love, you know, our family members.

Sometimes even not at their best
moments. But, you know, one thing that I

to tell you, because I want to be able
to build trust with you.

My mom was an alcoholic. She went
through, you know, a lot of struggles

-medicated.

And so my childhood was not perfect.

Thank God my dad was solid.

I think that's kind of the only thing
that really kept me, you know, grounded.

I had a hard time growing up without a
mother. I lost her when I was eight

old, and I never had the opportunity to
have my mother a part of my life when I

was becoming a young woman and really
needed a role model and to see, like...

This is the relationship that she has
with her mother.

It saddens me because I didn't have a
chance to love my mother.

I didn't know that about your mom, by
the way. Yeah, I mean, I know we've

about our kids, but we've probably never
really... We've never discussed our

moms. Our moms, yeah. And you do not
need to recreate what you hated.

I do think that there is a lot more to

let that grow. That means so much to me.
