You know, go with me on this.

You tell me you might
disagree with me,

but something is happening
in this country

and I believe you
can feel it.

Even if you can't quite
name it,

the anger that once powered the
MAGA movement right now.

Hey, look, you know, the,
what would you call it?

The, I believe that the MAGA movement
is losing its grip.

Because all the chaos that
once kept people glued

to the news, like it was a
reality show, right?

That has turned into fatigue.

Like people are just exhausted
with all of that craziness.

And tell me if I'm wrong, if
you think I'm wrong

and we can't hope.

And after this week's
elections,

you can see it in
the numbers.

I told you guys, hold on.

There were people who
were saying,

you know, this no Kings
protest,

it doesn't mean anything
about,

okay, I understand what
you're saying,

but you have to give people
a place to start.

Something that gives them
confidence,

something that shows them
that they have power.

And I believe that this
one protest,

along with a whole lot
of other things

that MAGA is doing, Donald
Trump is doing,

that's what's leading people
to say, you know what?

I'm sick of it, okay?

So you see it in the numbers,

you see it in the faces
of the candidates,

you see it even the tone of
conservative media.

I believe the spell
is broken.

I truly do.

So Tuesday night wasn't just
a win for Democrats,

it was a rejection,

a rejection of dysfunction,

of rejection of violence,

a rejection of government
by grievance.

I think that people are just
over it right now,

over it.

Now again, you guys
can tell me

if you think I'm wrong
in all this,

I don't believe I'm wrong.

I think that voters didn't just
say yes to one party,

they said no to the
entire circus.

They said no to the chaos,

no to being constantly afraid

of what tomorrow's tweet or
tantrum might bring.

Look at the results
from Virginia.

Look at the results
from Kentucky.

Look at the results from
New Jersey.

The results from all of it,

the results from New York.

The pattern is clear.

The Republican Party that
Donald Trump built

around outrage and fear is collapsing
under its own weight.

People are done with
it right now.

They're done with the
shutdowns,

they're done with the lies,

they are done with all of it,

with the performative
cruelty.

That is, that's passed off
as leadership.

Done.

D-O-N-E done.

And when you think about it,
it does make sense

because you can only govern
by anger for so long

before anger starts eating
itself alive.

You know what I mean?

It's like when you hold onto
something, anger,

it just starts eating you up.

This week, that exhaustion
became visible

because you saw Marjorie Taylor
Greene out there.

She's once the loudest voice
in the MAGA choir,

suddenly trying on
a new tone.

She's all over, she's
on The View,

a show that skews liberal.

She's out there talking
about unity

and women supporting
each other,

sitting down in daytime
talk shows

and saying things like, "Both
parties have failed."

The same woman who used to
call for Democrats

to be expelled from Congress

is now talking about finding
common ground.

Imagine that.

It's a pivot, yes, but
I don't think

it's a moral awakening yet.

I believe it could
be survival.

We're gonna discuss that
with our legends.

It could be survival.

I don't know.

You let me know what
you think.

Look, who knows what's
happening?

I think she knows what's
happening.

I think she sees what's
happening.

She knows that Trump's
movement

has become meaner and less
effective and smaller.

That is, it's losing
in the courts,

it's losing in the polls

and it's losing the public's
patience

because look around everyone.

The walls are closing in.

A federal judge in Chicago just
today, did you see that?

Ordered ICE and the
border patrol

to stop using excessive
force on civilians

and journalists as well.

I mean, after a shocking
case there revealed

that a senior border
patrol chief

lied about being attacked,

lied about being attacked
by protestors.

Now, how can you be a leader
in the movement

or whatever it is that
you're doing?

How can you be a leader

and then you're going to lie

about being attacked by
a protestors?

Lied and he claimed that he
was hit with a rock.

He wasn't.

The judge said the government's
own evidence

exposed the lie.

She said what those
agents did,

firing pepper balls
into a crowd

that included clergy and reporters
shocked the conscience

and she banned them from
doing it again.

And one of the people who
is pivotal in that,

I don't know if you guys remember
this guy, Rob Hand,

Rob Held, excuse me,

Rob Held is an attorney
in Chicago.

He was out there at the
Broadview facility

when we were there in Chicago
helping the protestors.

Remember the guy saying on
the bullhorn saying,

I don't understand
your tactics.

You're not making sense.

It's not logical.

Well, that guy is going to be
here a little bit later on

to discuss and take questions
from our legends.

And you know what that means.

Accountability is coming
back into style

because for years the MAGA

movement thrived on
breaking rules

and bragging about it,

but now the system is
pushing back.

The courts are saying no,

the voters are saying no,
even the Supreme Court.

Yes, that Supreme Court
is signaling

that Trump's attempt to
unilaterally impose

and the sweeping tariffs

might not hold up under
the constitution.

Those conservative justices

who spent years empowering
him

are suddenly looking
uncomfortable now,

and they should.

Because power without limits
always comes back around.

It's one thing to love
the king

when the crown fits your
politics, right?

It's another when that king
starts taxing your donors,

imports, and then threatening
your economy.

And that's exactly what's
happening right now.

Trump's tirade on this
country,

tirades every single day.

People are tired of them.

His trade fantasy is hitting
the wall of reality.

Those tariffs that he wants,

the ones he keeps promising,

will bring back American
greatness.

That's what he says.

They would send consumer prices
through the roof.

Did you guys see the
jobs report

this morning that we
showed you?

The worst one in 22 years.

Those things would hit the very
people these tariffs said,

they would have voted for
Donald Trump.

They would hit them hardest.

So the court is hesitating.

Wall Street is nervous.

The business community that
once wrote checks

to Trump's campaign,

starting to quietly look
for exits now.

All this is part of the
bigger story,

the unraveling of the
MAGA illusion.

That illusion that America
is broken

and only Trump can fix it.

But look at the results.

The border is a mess.

The economy is volatile
right now.

Violence has become
normalized.

Public trust is at
record lows.

None of it is fixed.

It has just become louder.

The illusion said that we're fighting
for working people.

But every policy from tax
cuts to tariffs

has helped the rich and hurt
the middle class.

The illusion said that we're
restoring law and order.

But this week, a federal
court had to step in

to stop government agents
from breaking the law.

The illusion said that we
are making America

respected again.

But what the world sees is a
country at war with itself,

led by people who confuse
cruelty for strength

and call that leadership.

And now the people are done.

They are over it.

You can see it in how they
vote, how they talk,

how they move, how we vote,
how we talk, how we move.

The same voters who once showed
up for Trump rallies

are sitting them out.

The crowds are smaller, the
enthusiasm is gone,

even Fox News has started
cutting away

from some of his speeches.

And when that happens,

you know the magic has left
the building.

It's happening slowly, but
it is happening.

You may not, you may not have
even noticed it yet.

You may not have noticed
it yet.

Even the small stories tell
the truth here.

Like the viral Thanksgiving
post that Trump shared,

bragging that dinner prices
are down 25%.

Do we have that?

He's saying that the dinner
prices are down 25%

and had to be fact checked.

Was fact checked on, I believe
it was his own true social

or on Twitter.

What he didn't say was that
the meal now includes

fewer items and cheaper
brands.

It's symbolic of the entire
movement.

It's like when he was there
with Jerome Powell.

And he, do you remember that
when he was talking about

the buildings and
that it was,

they were like three buildings
or something,

all these buildings and they
got them up in record time

and it cost whatever.

And he's like, that's not even
part of this process.

So that's indicative of the
entire movement.

Sell you less, call it more and
count on you not to notice.

I believe he's deluded
by his own lies,

but people are noticing,

they are noticing that their
rent is higher,

that their groceries
are higher,

their sense of safety
is lower.

They are noticing that the only
people still defending

this mess are the ones who
profit from this mess.

And they are asking real
questions right now.

There's a thing, I wanted, this
one is just outrageous.

I just want to read
it to you.

This one is outrageous.

So Donald Trump tweets, and
this is, I guess it's on X

or maybe he put it on true
social, who knows?

And then they put it on
X, but it says,

"Prices for Thanksgiving
dinner is now down 25%

since under sleepy crooked
Joe Biden in 2024.

Affordability is a Republican
stronghold.

Hopefully Republicans will use
this irrefutable fact."

And then readers added
context.

And it says, "This is missing
context."

These are the community
notes, I believe on X.

"The 2025 Walmart Thanksgiving
meal contains 15 items

while the 2024 meal contained
21 items.

Additionally, most of the
brand items in 2024 meal

were replaced with great
value items."

And then the links are there
to give the facts.

Do you guys think, I'm gonna

ask my legends in a
little bit,

but do you guys think that
maybe Donald,

do the people around Donald
Trump are feeding him lies

or do you think he's just
lying anyways

because he feels that he needs
to, or he doesn't know.

Maybe he's just, maybe
he's delusional.

And maybe there's some cognitive
decline setting in,

perhaps dementia, we
don't know.

I'm just saying perhaps.

So I'm just wondering, maybe he's
getting some bad advice.

His advisors aren't
helping him.

So the real people have real
questions out,

like why are we paying for
the mistakes of people

who keep saying that they
are fighting for us?

When in all actuality, they're
not fighting for us.

Why are billionaires and
influencers,

why are they the only
ones thriving

while ordinary Americans are
told to trust the plan?

The plan was chaos and chaos
is bad business.

So when you look at the election
map this week,

what you're really seeing
is a country

trying to find its balance
again, right?

Trying to steady itself
again,

trying to shake off the noise

and return to something
steady.

It's not about partisanship,
what you're saying.

It's about sanity.

It's about people saying
enough already.

Enough is enough.

This is the incident where
it happened.

So this is the person who's

Look, look at the folks
who are here,

independent folks,
journalists.

I don't know if I've seen
any, there may be one.

So the man on this bullhorn
is Rob Held.

He went viral from one of our
social media posts

during all of this, as he was
speaking on a bullhorn

to the officers who were
trying to push us,

corral us, kettle us, whatever
you wanna call it.

decision today by a judge

and it did not bode
well for ICE,

for Border Patrol and
for MAGA.

on social media

about a ruling that came down

that I'm sure all of you will
be happy about.

Here it is.

Ice has been handcuffed.

Judge Ellis just pranked at
the preliminary injunction

prohibiting ice from the
tactics and weapons

that have terrorized and
traumatized Chicago.

She called Gregory Bovino
a liar.

The injunction is in place
and ice must abide.

Government lawyers are almost
certainly working

on the appeal right now.

Details to follow later.

Rob Held joins us.

He's a Chicago based attorney

and he has been there
the entire time

fighting for people's rights
in Chicago.

Rob, good evening to you.

Thanks for joining.

This was a big decision.

Big decision, it's huge.

The judge Sarah Ellis in a quiet
voice, soft spoken woman,

but with powerful words called
Gregory Bovino a liar.

She said the government's
case was not credible.

She could not believe the testimony
that she heard,

but the testimony from the
plaintiffs was powerful

and it was gut wrenching.

Tell us about this
case exactly

and what the ruling was Rob.

Sure.

Journalists brought a lawsuit
against the government

for the tactics that have been
used against innocent

protestors and bystanders and
journalists as well.

And what the government
has been doing

is essentially targeting
peaceful demonstrators

and journalists who are
trying to record

and to make sure that
they're not

being taken seriously. And so, I
think that's a big decision.

What's going on?

And sometimes they're
just observer

that you know, having
a policy

where arrest is being
made themselves

or the observer themselves
become the target

of these aggressive and
violent tactics

and the judge will not
stand for it.

And quite frankly, Don, neither
will the people of Chicago.

The mobilization that we're seeing,
the tremendous energy,

the neighborly like connections
that are being made now

is something that I've never
seen before.

Before we talk about that,
I just wanna ask you

because a judge, it says that
the judge ruled

that border patrol official
lied about threats

before restricting agents
use of force.

Well, the government's
position is that,

every time they use force,
it's necessary.

And there are violent rioters

and they're using the least
amount of force necessary

to quell the threat or protect
agents, but that's not true.

This according to the
Associated Press,

I'm just reading the headline
and maybe you can explain.

It says, "Chicago judge says
border patrol official

lied about threats before restricting
agents use of force."

So, they're saying that
an agent,

somehow a border patrol official
lied about the threats.

And so, did the judge contend
that someone was lying

from the government or from
border patrol or from ICE?

Don, there's many people that
know Gregory Bovino.

He's the chief border
patrol agent.

Gregory Bovino lied.

He lied in his deposition.

The judge called him a liar.

And everybody that's seen
the evidence

knows that the top border
patrol official

under this Trump administration
lied to the court.

And he admitted that he lied.

He said he got hit by a rock.

And that's why he was
justified

in lobbing tear gas canisters
at peaceful protesters.

He wasn't hit by a rock.

The video evidence showed that
he wasn't hit by a rock.

And ultimately he admitted
that he lied.

He was never hit by a rock.

There was no justification
for his lobbing tear gas

canisters into peaceful
protesters.

All right, that's what I was
trying to get at.

So, you know, and the judge,

this is a quote from Judge
Sarah Ellis.

I see little reason for
the use of force

that federal agents are
currently using,

said the district judge
Sarah Ellis.

I don't find the defendant's versions
of events credible.

So she doesn't find
it credible.

She says, unless such force's
objective is necessary

to prevent an immediate
threat, it also bars,

that's what it bars.

It bars them from using,
as you said,

riot control weapons, certain
riot control weapons,

such as tear gas and
pepper balls,

unless that force is objectively
necessary

to prevent an immediate
threat.

Also bars agents from using
physical force,

including shoving protesters and
journalists to the ground.

And it requires agents to
give two warnings

before using a riot control
weapons.

Now, I remember when we were
out there and you said,

I don't understand
your tactics.

I don't understand what
you're doing.

And that was the reason because
they weren't abiding

by those rules or similar
rules

that you were out here saying
that when we were there.

Well, Don, to be clear, the
video you have of me

and when we met, those were
state police.

So this, we're talking about
Broadview, Illinois,

a federal detention facility.

There's been a change in
what's going on there.

And for the last-

There were some ICE agents
out there.

There were a couple, but most
of them were state police.

Absolutely, yeah.

The big line of troops that you
see are state policemen.

But going back to Judge
Ellis's order

and what's happening is
that for months,

we had ICE agents literally
taking pot shots

at peaceful demonstrators.

I myself was shot at by
a federal agent

who had no basis to use any
force against me

because I was simply
demonstrating.

Now I demonstrate in a very
vocal and animated

and derogatory way to express
my feelings

about the administration.

I make no secret about that.

But words are not a
justification

for pepper balls being fired
from a federal agent.

So you said that the entire community
has come together

and the community is
galvanized in ways

that in unimaginable ways.

Even more so than we
were there,

I think when I was there a
couple of weeks ago,

people were just kind
of shocked

that it had gotten to the level
that it had gotten.

And now I feel like they have
steadied them still

and they are also
stronger and

more willing to push back now

and they're feeling
empowered.

Can you talk to me
about that?

Well, I love that because we
all have to stand up.

We have to support
one another.

We have to treat each other as
the neighbors that we are.

And there's so many apps and
different community groups

and there's watch groups
and there are moms

that have to stay by
their phone

because they're afraid
that ICE

is gonna show up at
their school.

They're afraid that somebody's
gonna get pulled over

while they're bringing a child
to school or from school.

They're all over the
neighborhoods.

I mean, part of I think
what's going on

is that the border patrol
agents,

because the number of immigrants
coming through

the southern border is
down so much,

all these agents have
been redeployed

into cities like Chicago.

So we've got, if I go to my app
and see what's going on,

there are incidents all over
the city all the time

and some of them are violent.

Are people still protesting
out at Broadview?

I understand that they
had moved it

or they tried to restrict it
or make it even smaller.

There have been changes in
what the local forces

have required in terms of
where we can protest

and the hours that we
can protest.

So you're seeing on
that video,

those look like state police
clashing with protesters.

Yeah, I'm out there a lot.

The good news is that we
do not interact

with the federal agents
at all

because the state police,
the county police,

the local police, and then
other agencies

are out there as well.

So everybody but the federal
forces are out there.

I'm trying to see.

That looks like it's where you
were a couple of weeks ago.

That spot is now closed.

We're at a different
location,

much closer to the federal
detention facility

in Broadview, Illinois.

Yeah, so there was a, I believe
it's a preschool

where they picked up a
preschool student.

I think it was on the North
side of Chicago.

Let me play and then I would
get your response to it.

One second, Don.

Okay.

Yeah, I mean, the number
of incidents are,

it's just, it's exploding,

but people are reacting
by forming groups,

watch groups, and talking
to one another,

texting one another.

And Evanston in particular,
you know,

has galvanized themselves.

And the mayor of Evanston
said,

"I've got a simple message
for ICE.

Get the hell out of
our town."

Really?

And what happened?

Did they leave?

No, President Trump has
said that there,

and DHS, the Department of
Homeland Security

has said that they're, in
essence, doubling down.

They're gonna rejuvenate
the forces

and come at us just as hard.

And there's no reason.

There is no reason.

We want the violent
criminals,

the worst of the worst
picked up.

But what we don't want are people
that are not criminals

and not violent, violently
arrested,

along with sometimes
protestors

and observers and
journalists.

I was detained along with an
independent journalist

at the end of September.

Well, there's also, you know,

I mentioned the preschool
person

and the preschool teacher
being picked up

and then people speaking
out about that.

But also then there was a
sort of a visual protest

for that person.

So for the person, and it
shows me again,

what you're saying is that
people are sticking by

one another now, and they've
gotten used to the tactics.

But they at least are aware
of the kinds of tactics

that ICE and the border patrol
and the National Guard

and even whoever is out there
picking people up,

the type of tactics that
they might use.

That's right.

And our governor specifically
has asked every citizen

in the state of Illinois,
record ICE,

observe, record, and catalog
every time you see ICE.

Now he has emphasized that we
should not interfere

and plead obstruct
in any way.

Obviously, but there is
a definite sense

that we all need to be looking
at what ICE is doing

and recording it on
video as well.

And there's a separate initiative
where they're gonna try

to have a repository and
identify by biometric

and other data, every single
federal agent

that has broken the law
and turn that over

to an investigative body to
see whether federal agents

should be prosecuted.

As an attorney, I wanna get
your take on this.

Andy, I sent it earlier.

I sent two of them.

I sent a protest of the
preschool thing

and the North side
of Chicago.

It's in the chat from
earlier.

And I sent the another version
of the same video

of them picking up
the teacher.

And it was also yesterday evening,
we had it as well.

Where was I?

I'm wondering as an attorney,
what you think will happen

because you're saying they're
using biometrics

to identify some of these people
because they're masked.

Do you think that there will
be accountability

at some point after this is
over for the people

who are out there abusing
people

and who are enacting or acting
on unlawful orders?

Will there be some sort of Nuremberg
type accountability

after this?

I hope so.

There's certainly people
that are interested

in collecting the data to
make a determination

whether or not it should be turned
over to police agencies

or a local or state agency
to investigate

whether crimes have
been committed

and whether charges
can be made.

I think that'll happen
because the truth is,

you can see it in videos,

the ICE agents to a
large degree,

they're bullies, they're
improperly trained,

they're improperly
supervised.

And as Judge Ellis
said today,

they're violating the
constitution.

Violating the constitution,
but then what happens?

I'm wondering if anything is
going to happen to them

because even when Donald Trump
is ordered by judges,

excuse me, the administration,

they will-- Pardon them?

They just won't know.

They'll defy the judge and
they just won't do it.

I know, that's why it's gotta
be a local county

or state agency that should
bring charges.

The federal government, I mean,
even Judge Ellis said,

your case is not credible.

Now I talked to the
lead attorney

for the United States
government

and he is a well-educated
individual

with a great deal of grace,

obviously a very intelligent
and knowledgeable person.

But look, when it comes
down to it,

a judge is entitled to
believe a witness

and not believe another
witness.

I mean, there was this Gregory
Bovino testified

and another border patrol agent
testified live in person.

Yesterday afternoon, I
saw him testify.

And I can tell you what I
think's going on.

What I think is going on is
there are two facts

that are true at the
same time.

Occasionally, there is a protester
or someone else

who is overly aggressive

and ICE wants to take action
against them.

So when ICE testifies,

they point to the examples
where,

oh, look, we were justified

because look what happened
here.

But we've got scores and more
than scores of incidents

where ICE has used their
weapons and tactics

on peaceful protesters like
myself and others,

people I know, Pastor Black.

So many people have been subject
to this cruel violence.

I myself was sprayed with mace
directly into my face

at a time when I posed no
threat to anyone

and I was not obstructing

or impeding the federal
agents in any way.

I was in fact behind a fence

and got a spray full of
mace into my face,

just basically for shouting
at them.

Now, this is the preschool video
that I wanted to show you

and get your reaction.

You're supposed to tell
your children

that law enforcement is taking
care of you, right?

That they're here to serve
and protect,

that they're keeping us safe.

What are we supposed to
tell our children?

What kinds of conversations are
we now supposed to have?

President Trump?

A member of our community
was violently taken

out of this daycare with
children on site,

with fellow educators
on site.

I am horrified by what has
happened here today.

Our community has been
shattered.

Our families have been
traumatized.

The children were crying, the
parents were crying.

It's a scene that I don't
think any of us

have ever witnessed before
and will ever forget.

No, there was no warrant.

No, they don't care about
documentation.

My understanding from
what I've seen

and from what I've
heard is that

numerous laws were violated.

And there you see the
video of them.

Imagine if you're, you know,

these are preschool students
watching this.

You're supposed to only take
the criminals.

Yeah, it's a tragedy what's
going on.

And when I was in court
yesterday morning

and watching the witnesses
testify,

you can hear the tremor
in their voice.

You can hear the timber
and the pitch

and the intonation by which
they describe

what happened to them.

Some of them are still
in shock

because not only is it like
an innocent person

being arrested, I mean, you
can be arrested

and officer can say, you know,
you're under arrest.

Put your hands behind your
back, turn around

and you can be coughed
and taken away.

That's not how they
make arrests.

That's not what they're
doing.

And there was video played
for the judge

and for people in court
yesterday

where innocent people were
violently tackled

or maced or pepper balls
were shot at them

or tear gas was lobbed and then
they violently arrest you.

And it's traumatizing.

And now people have seen
it in person.

They've seen it on video and
it is disturbing.

I mean, I'm a fairly
strong person

and I served in the military,

but it is really troubling to
know what's happening

in our community right now
and to see it firsthand

and to hear people talk
about it.

Yeah, these are people who
are standing up

and they were standing up
for that teacher.

They had a protest the other
night, here it is.

So Rob, I wanna bring
in the legends,

a little bit

and to answer some of

the whole press conference
yesterday

about that woman that
they stole

who has a work permit,
by the way.

And also they made up this
horrific lie

that she tried to run
into the school

and use these children basically
as human shields

when in fact they went in
there without a warrant,

people were trying
to stop them.

And one guy went from
room to room,

rooms with children in them
with his gun,

looking for more people
to steal

and leave those children
unattended

with less teachers to
watch them.

It is unconscionable.

It is another-- What's
your question?

Sorry, I thought you were
done, I'm sorry.

Now you're muted.

Sorry, my question is today when
you were in the hearing,

when they played the Bovino
deposition testimony,

how did the court react
to him just

refusing to even acknowledge
reality?

Good question.

Judge Ellis, as I said,
soft-spoken woman,

said Mr. Bovino lied.

I mean, it's just
that simple.

There's no elaboration, no
pounding the table,

no shouting, it's just a statement
from a federal judge.

It's powerful.

And so, but to her question,

how did everyone react?

Because you said even he admitted,
right, am I wrong?

He admitted that he lied.

Yeah, he admitted he lied.

The courtroom was silent.

The judge read her order for
90 minutes, 90 minutes,

just reading a long granting
of a preliminary injunction

with the beginning of reading
a poem by Sandburg, Chicago.

And the courtroom was silent.

There were approximately
14 lawyers

for the various plaintiffs
groups that were there.

The government lawyers, there's
normally seven or so.

There was only three junior
lawyers present.

I think, honestly, I think lead
counsel for the government

was already working on their
appeal right then and there

while she was reading
her ruling.

I wouldn't be surprised

if the appeal gets filed
immediately.

Yeah, Jen Griffin, you
have a question?

No, actually I don't,

but I just wanted to say
that I am appalled

by the Gestapo tactics
that we've seen.

And if anybody doesn't see the
similarity between this

and the thirties in Germany,
then you're blind.

All right, well, can I get a little
vignette, an anecdote?

I'm at Broadview, Illinois, the
detention facility a lot.

I was there one day and I usually
have an American flag

over my shoulders at times
and a border patrol,

not border patrol, but federal
agents in a vehicle

came by in their vehicle, rolled
down the window and said,

if that flag touches the ground,
I'm gonna arrest you.

And I said, if it touches
the ground here,

or if you mean I'm at
your facility

and it touches the ground,

I was kind of torquing
him a little bit.

And he said, he just
repeated it.

And at that point, since I'd
already been detained once

and my wife will kill me if
I get arrested again,

I literally ran away from that
vehicle as fast as I could.

Because they were just looking
for an excuse.

Yes, but it's also, I mean,
if you think about it,

you can, I wouldn't do it,

but you can burn an American
flag to show your,

you know, disagreement with
the government policies.

Here I was carrying, I'm
patriotic actually,

carrying the flag as
a patriot.

And he was threatening and trying
to instigate something.

I wasn't gonna have
any of it.

And you're, didn't you serve
the country?

I did, I was at Air Force.

Yeah.

And who else?

Anyone else have a question

I have a question.

Go ahead.

Do you still have to be able
to talk to people?

We can't hear you.

Can you start over please and
get closer to the phone?

Do you think after this administration
is over,

will we be able to prosecute
these ICE agents

that are really doing so much
harm to our cities?

Boy, it's a great question.

Maybe way above my pay grade,

but my hope and expectation
is that local, county,

and state prosecutors
will prosecute,

the crimes that occurred.

At this point, and who knows
what a new administration

will bring, but obviously
I do not trust

the Department of Justice
right now.

Katie.

Right.

So something that really
concerns me

as the parent of a preschooler
is obviously the ICE agents

going in with their guns
and stuff,

but like do people not realize
also what it takes

for anybody to literally
enter a preschool

regarding like clearances and
background checks?

And these ICE agents are like
not vetted at all.

So how do we even know
that these people

can even be around kids?

I mean, like look at all of
the January sixers

who were pardoned and have
already been rearrested

for like child crimes.

So I guess my question
would be,

do you think the parents are
like getting together

to sue ICE or something
from this?

Because the trauma alone that
like these poor kids

must've had to go through,
I just like,

I'm gonna hug my daughter
extra tight tonight,

just like hearing about it.

It just makes me so sad
and so angry.

It's awful.

And I don't know about
any plans.

There are a number of
lawsuits going,

but they're not the kind
of lawsuit

that you're talking about.

They're more at the,

they're violating the constitutional
rights of detainees

or violating the constitutional
rights of journalists.

Those kinds of suits is
what out there.

What I think parents, because
I hear it from people,

I'm getting texts and
phone calls

and direct messages
all the time,

is that people just wanna
know, is my child safe?

Can they get to and
from school?

Are they now the question
we're asking in Chicago,

are kids safe even in school,

for the very reason that
you point out?

Bob, Olia works with
immigration

and she's been giving us some
really good information

and informing us on what
is happening,

especially with judges that
they're being replaced.

Olia, go ahead.

Yeah, so a lot of judges are
actually being fired,

being let go all around
the country,

not just, I'm in Washington
state,

not just in Washington state,

but additional judges are

being brought in and
they're jags.

So they are attorneys from the,
like military attorneys

who have zero immigration experience,
don't know the law.

Their training is very short,
very brief.

They don't know immigration
law,

but they're being put
into place.

And my concern is that the
reason they're being put

is to just give a straight
out no for, you know,

people applying for asylum,
people who are in removal,

who have decent good
asylum cases,

but it's just basically
to move it forward

by just saying no to all of
these respondents,

to all of these people.

So that's a huge concern
of mine.

Spot on, that's exactly
right.

The Trump administration
determined to fire

a whole bunch of immigration
judges.

So they were short-handed.

Now they need more immigration
judges

and you made a reference
to jags.

So that is a military,

a person serving in the
military as a lawyer.

And what they've done is they've
sent out letters

to all the military
lawyers in

the various branches
and said,

hey, we need an emergency,
you know,

assignment for you to serve
as an immigration judge.

They are gonna get minimal
training.

Now many of them are extremely
competent lawyers,

but as you point out,

they don't have experience in

a very complex area
of the law,

which is immigration law.

So yes, there are military
lawyers coming in

to fill the gap based
on the fact

that they just fired earlier,
you know, these judges.

Unbelievable. Yeah, and
another thing.

Oh, sorry, go ahead,
Alia, sorry.

And another thing that I've noticed
is like exactly what

I would like to amplify that
a lot of these ICE agents

that are being recruited,

that are being put into
the positions,

they're not vetted and they are
there to intimidate people.

A lot of the people that they
are taking into custody

and the detention centers here
in Tacoma, for example,

they do have like whether
parole or they have TPS,

they don't have violent
crimes.

So for this administration to
say that, you know,

they're finding like the
worst of the worst

and they're, you know, deporting
the worst of the worst

that is completely untrue.

That's bullshit, I'll
say it for you.

Yeah, it's completely false.

And from what I see, it's
just horrible.

And that teacher that was
taken, for example,

you were talking about
in preschool,

we just had one here
in Issaquah,

a parent who was taking their
child to preschool.

She was pulled out of her car

when she got to the
preschool.

The cruelty is the point.

That's the scariest part
because cruelty

is the whole point of this.

This is not about safety.

This is not about a safety
of our country.

This is about being as cruel
as possible to,

I don't know, to prove a
point to somebody

and to make people, you know,

like to make brown people feel
like you're not human,

we shouldn't treat
you the same.

It's a fear tactic and it's
also to criminalize,

you know, brown people.

But let me, I wanna play this
since you mentioned

the fear in people, okay?

But, and I'll get to you guys,
but I wanna play this

and then you guys can
ask a question.

Andy, if you can get the kid,
I forget where he is.

He may be, is he in
Washington?

He's in Oregon, I believe.

And this is what he, a very
heartfelt message

that he had for people,
here it is.

Asking you guys, every single
one of you guys

are sitting up here.

You're actually here with us
and do something about it

guys and say that

I really hope you guys
do side with us

and you guys really do hear what
we're saying for you guys

because all of us here are
actually trying to fight

for what's right and fight
for our rights.

I'm scared for my parents
to walk out there.

To walk out their house because
I might not be able

to say goodbye to them if
they go to work.

I might not ever be able to
say bye or see them again

if you guys don't side
with us.

And I'm scared because of it
because they fought so hard

to come here and choose a
life for their kids.

do hear what everyone

in this room has been saying

do side with us because we are
fighting for our rights

and we are getting treated
like animals

because people, judges by the
color of our skin

and the way that we talk.

And we have a president that
acts like a child

and doesn't side with us
because of the way

he thinks about us.

And we have a police department
that doesn't do anything

about us and that we are here
fighting more than they are.

So I hope that you guys
actually do hear

what everyone in this center
is hearing or talking about

so you guys can side with us and
listen to what everyone's

saying because everyone
is scared.

I'm scared that I'm never

gonna be able to see
all my friends

again, I'm scared that their
parents are gonna be gone

one day, I'm scared that all of
us are gonna have to fend

for ourselves and I'm scared
that one day at school

that I'm gonna get held by
people that I don't know,

people that are covered, people
that I can't identify

because they wear masks and
they don't properly ID

themselves, I'm scared that everyone
that I love is not,

I'm not gonna be able to see them
again because even though

that they're US citizens, they
don't care about us.

They treat us like dogs, they
treat us like animals.

No one here.

This poor young man, Bob.

Because the color of our
skin, so I'm out.

Oh, I'm out.

I know.

Oh my gosh, that kid and to
Oly's point, the cruelty

is the point, was that Kev
who was talking?

Yeah, yeah, that was new.

Go ahead Kev.

That's hard to watch, like
all the legends are

in tears right now, it's
like the compassion

and the humanity has just
evaporated.

It's so sad and unfortunate to
see, but my question is,

like what can a person like
me or the other legends do

to combat this?

Because I understand, you know,
immigration is a sensitive

issue and it's something that
has to be addressed,

but cruelty wasn't the point
when Obama was

deporting people.

It was nothing like this, he's
deported the most people.

It's like they're, I don't
even get it.

It's just sad and it's
bullshit.

Yeah.

But I hate to say it, but
I'm glad this moment

is happening because minorities
and black people

have had to deal with
this for--

Exactly.

I don't know how long.

Yeah.

And it's never been
acknowledged.

That is the original sin
of this country.

Slavery is the original sin.

So it's heartbreaking that
it's happening to people,

but I'm glad it's on a
national spotlight

because it has to stop and the
root of it in this country

needs to be solved.

So Bob, two questions.

One, he said, what can people,
what can legends do?

People like Kevin and Jen and
Olia and Jennifer and Wendy

and all the folks who are here,
Andrea, what can we do?

And the other question is, he
brings a very good point.

And I understand the point because
I have a very similar,

I felt similarly during the,

to the outcome of the election
on Tuesday night,

I was like, I hope Donald Trump
keeps doing this stuff

because then that makes people
not wanna vote against him.

Although I don't want people
to be treated cruelly,

but you get what I'm saying.

I don't want people being
dragged out,

but all right, just keep it up
because the more you do it,

the more it ensures that you
will not be elected

or anyone on the MAGA ticket will
be elected in 26 and 28.

So Bob, those two questions.

There'll be no denying it.

So what can we do?

And the other thing is, do you
think all of these pictures,

like as in the civil rights
movement,

the Edmund Pettus Bridge
and all of that,

do you think that it's
affecting Americans

in a way that motivates them
to make it stop?

Yes, because I see what's
happening in my life

and I see what's happening
in Chicago

where people are coming
together.

They're standing up for
one another.

They're doing what our
governor said,

which is to record what
ICE is doing

every time they come out
of their vehicle,

every time they drive
on our streets.

So we record what they're
doing,

but everyone should do what's
in their sweet spot.

For the legends, they can
get the word out.

More people have to
be educated.

Some people can write.

I can use a bullhorn
at a protest.

Other people can stand up, give
money to organizations,

legal organizations and
organizations

that are helping immigrants
write to your congressman,

show up at a protest, do
whatever you can do,

whatever you feel motivated
to do,

but work in solidarity and
support one another

because as we resist, this

administration and ICE
will melt.

I wanna get to Natasha.

Natasha, you are very
emotional, why?

It breaks my heart

because like he said, they're
treating them

like they're not human.

And I had to talk to my
therapist about this

a couple of weeks ago because
I had a lot of anger

and hurt because I'm an
empath anyway.

And I can't understand how people
can just look at people

like this and look at them
like they're animals.

I even see on social media
where people are like,

good, I'm glad this
is happening.

Get them out of here.

They don't care.

And just when they're saying
illegal aliens,

they're thinking of them
as less than human.

And it just breaks my heart.

Anytime I see this, we
shouldn't be here.

And one thing I do online is
I try to educate people

on social media.

Like I don't argue with them.

I come at them very nicely.

And sometimes I actually see

where people are thinking
differently.

So that's where I can't
physically protest,

but I try to get people to
think differently

or see things differently,
not

necessarily think
differently.

Well, when I say everybody
has to be willing

to sacrifice something and
that's what you can do.

You can only do what
you can do.

And so we appreciate that.

following the legal shows

in terms of all the court
cases that are going on.

But what I'm not hearing,
I'm excited.

I mean, I get that feeling, I
was feeling that way,

but now that the court cases
are going through

and we're starting to see
some movement.

But what I think is happening
is that

we're all in separate areas
and we're all,

I'm wondering, is there a
network, number one,

of where we can take our platforms
in terms of our power,

our dollars, the same
way we went out

and protested for Kings,

that we could start supporting
the people like yourself

that are actually out there doing
the legal work to give

so that we could make sure
that it continues

because I know it's a
labor of love,

but I'm wondering because
I'm not hearing it.

I'm watching all over
the place.

I'm trying to stay on top,
but I'm not seeing,

is there an actual national
network

or is it just by state
or by division?

National Lawyers Guild

is a national organization
that has chapters

in all the cities.

But I think you're
right though.

I don't think there's a
coordinated effort

other than what we are seeing
at a very high level

with the ACLU and other organizations
that have brought

what I'll call the high
level lawsuits.

But those are basically
scattershot, right?

You've got Portland, the
Portland lawsuit.

We've got something like five

lawsuits going on
in Illinois,

but there should be some more
coordination perhaps.

National Lawyers Guild,
ACLU, et cetera,

should probably be talking
to one another.

So I'm on one of those
border states

where immigration has always
been a mix back.

But one of my questions
I had,

I wanna go back to how
these people

are entering a private
business

and not identifying
themselves

to the respective owner

and saying who they have
a warrant for

because that's obviously
illegal.

Well, well, Wes.

They do whatever they want.

They do whatever they want.
That's just absurd.

I mean, I own my own
business.

I own my own business.

And I know that I can,

if ICE came to my gate
without a warrant,

I don't have to let them in.

Correct. So this is one

of the things too.

I mean, they just
walked into,

and I agree with the other
young lady

who was talking about when
you have children,

you have to go through all
these friend processes

in order to even be around
children.

So how on earth they don't,

the establishment didn't know
who these people were.

They could have been, they looked
like the boogeyman,

but they just walked in there

without proper identification,

without saying they
had a warrant.

For a specific person,

and without the permission of
whoever's in charge

or the owner of that
business,

something's seriously
wrong with that.

There's something seriously
wrong with that, I agree.

And there are some small
businesses

that are literally keeping
their doors locked

and they'll let customers in,

but they won't let ICE in if
they try to get in.

But you're right about
what's going on

because these, in many cases,

their tactics are
like bullies

or people have used much
worse words

and they're accurate to describe
their conduct,

which is lawless.

Well, I'm on, oh, I'm sorry.

if you need to,

I was just gonna say, I'm
also a farmer.

So we have migrant workers
that's been in our area.

I've owned my farm almost
30 years.

People are keeping their
gates closed.

I've seen ICE up and down.

I've seen every type of law
enforcement vehicle

in my neighborhood, and I've
never seen that ever.

I mean, we live in
a rural area

right above the Wild
Animal Park.

And you just didn't see that,

but we've seen the ICE, we've
seen border patrol,

we have seen fish and game.

I'm like, why is fish and
game out here?

The cougars aren't out here,
you know what I mean?

You feel safer?

I keep my gate closed.

I keep my gate closed.

Well, you heard the kids
that he was scared

and a lot of folks are not
going to work.

A lot of businesses
are saying

they can't get their
workers to come

because they're afraid ICE
is gonna show up.

I think the turnout probably
among Latinos,

Latino people, the turnout
was probably low

because they were afraid
to go to the polls.

911 calls are down 21%.

911 calls in Little Village
are down 21%.

So there are people who
are having crimes

committed against them and
they are too afraid

to call the police.

That's cool.

Yeah.

Go ahead, Phil.

That goes to somewhat
of my...

Not everybody is, not everyone
is as level-headed

and the sober-minded people

this particular broadcast
here.

My question to you is,

is there any concern that
you may feel

that people may feel like they
need to take the risk

and retaliate against ICE

because of what they're
seeing,

because of what they're
feeling?

Is there any concern that there
is that possibility?

People, some people, resorting
to physicality

that they may see.

Risking it all, if you will.

Let it, yeah, let it be.

And physically attacking ICE

because they feel like nobody
is taking the proper action

or the immediate action that
they feel is necessary.

Well, that's already happened
in Texas.

There was a shooting at one
of the federal facilities,

two different incidents,
in fact,

but there's two different kinds
of resistance, so to speak.

The kind where you physically
block a vehicle,

and we had six people indicted
last week in Chicago,

one of whom is a congressional
candidate,

they were impeding a vehicle.

So one form of violence
is to,

I'll call passively resist,

where you stand in front
of a vehicle

or put your vehicle in.

I don't recommend
any of that,

and what you've talked about
is a little bit more,

and I haven't personally
witnessed that.

I wouldn't recommend it.

These, look, I'm five, four,
and 120 pounds,

but a lot of these federal agents,
and not all of them,

because Don Lemon
saw a video,

and ICE agents were
chasing me

and literally started to
report to themselves.

Some of you may have seen
that video.

But there are agents who are
big and strong and young

and ill-trained and
not well-led,

and some of you talked
about the past

of some of the people they've
been hiring.

It's not a good bet to
actively resist

against a federal officer.

I myself, when I was
detained,

once I had no chance of
getting away,

I gave myself up and I personally
was not mistreated,

but they're rough, and you
can see it in the videos.

I think there are some people
that are so frustrated

they might do that.

I don't recommend it.

Yeah, Laurie.

Yeah, I mean, because
people's emotions

are really starting to
run real high.

It's bait.

He wants us to do that.

Yeah, and like I said,

everybody is not as sober-minded
as we are,

but I really feel like
there's this tension

in the air that's growing,

and people are going to really
like the people in Texas.

They may not resort to
shooting at them,

but they may resort to taking
the Louisville slugger

and start swinging and kind of
go for whatever they feel.

And we gotta make,

we're not condoning violence
on this program,

just so you know.

No, we're not.

We're not, but I just feel
like there's that chance

in the air.

People are frustrated and the
temperature is hot

and we're at a boiling point
in the country right now.

I wanna get everyone
in though,

people who haven't spoken.

Laurie, what do you
have to say?

Oh, Bob, did you wanna
say something?

I just wanted to say
real quick

that it's counterproductive
for any form of violence

is counterproductive
for our goals,

which is to get ICE out.

And the reason is,

is because the Department
of Justice

uses every single incident.

And somebody said,

"When they don't have
an incident,

they'll just make one up."

But the point is,

whenever there's violence,
they call us rioters.

The language that they
use is designed

to create this dehumanization,

I think as somebody
put it here.

They're trying to create the
animosity and the hostility

toward our immigrant
community.

And by using this inappropriate
language,

calling us rioters, violent,
criminal, alien,

these words, it's a civil wrong
to be in this country

without your papers.

It's a civil wrong, it's
not a crime.

Yeah, go ahead, Laurie.

I wanted to go back to
the decision

when you were in court.

One, is there gonna be any
perjury charges

filed against the
border agent

that's been representing the
government of ICE

and everything in the court?

I don't know.

I don't know.

There's something Bob, that's
a very good question.

There's something like filing
a false police report,

that kind of thing.

You know what I mean?

Yeah.

But I think what's more
likely to happen

is that somebody like
Gregory Bovino

will be found in contempt.

And contempt means that you have
violated a court order

and you did it voluntarily
and knowingly

disregarded what a judge
has ordered.

And that's what's happening
in Chicago

because she had ordered
the federal agents

to give warnings, to use
a prominent display

of their identification,

to only use the force
that's necessary

after two warnings have
been given.

And that hasn't happened.

And Gregory Bovino himself has
violated this judge's order.

And she pointed that out,

Judge Ellis pointed it
out this morning,

that Gregory Bovino was
lobbing tear gas

against peaceful protestors
without a warning

in violation of the judge's

order from a couple
of weeks ago.

That was a very good
question, Laurie.

I, and elimination, I just,

I was really moved by
the young man,

just basically crying and
saying that, you know,

he doesn't know if he's gonna
see his family again.

And it just, it just
takes me back

to like, we went and fought
through all of this.

And here we are as a nation
being treated

like black people used
to be treated.

And it's just insane that
it doesn't matter

if you're an American citizen,
what color you are,

where you're from, we're all
being treated cruelly.

And I understand it's bringing
us together,

but it's just mind boggling that
this is America today.

This is the history that
we have to share

with generations to come,

that we have to come together

and get rid of this
sociopath.

He's a sociopath.

And we are being traumatized.

we use words like

or it's in violation of the

things, but it's cruel.

what's going on in Chicago and

So I'm gonna go back to the
identification piece

that's always being
mentioned.

And I found a Facebook post
today, I posted from 2016.

And so Trump's always
had this plan.

So he has had nine years to
get people riled up

and spew cruelty and
get hate going.

So my question is, as far
as identity, do you,

and your suggestion, I have
my own assumptions

and I know there's organizations
that believe

what Trump stands for and
things of that nature,

like the Proud Boys and other

organizations I won't
mention,

who is behind the mask
in your opinion?

Do you actually think they're
actual federal agents?

Do you think that it could
be bounty hunters

or they're part of organizations
that agree with him?

What is your thoughts as who's
behind these masks

as far as identity?

Well, the truth is that
we don't know,

but from my experience,

you have a conglomeration
of federal agents.

I mean, I have seen air marshals
diverted from airplanes,

literally that they're
air marshals,

out on the streets
of Chicago.

I know that the FBI
is being used,

alcohol, tobacco and firearms,
border patrol,

immigration and customs.

Somebody told me that the
Bureau of Prisons,

Federal Bureau of Prisons
officers were out.

So we've got literally a slew
of federal agencies.

So my guess is, is they're
federal agents

and they're from some agency

like the ones that
I mentioned.

That's my theory.

Let's see who else has
their hand up.

I was thinking, you know,
cause I live in Texas

and we have not been having
the same instances

as everyone else in Democratic
led states or cities.

And I'm wondering, is there
something you can do

for just discrimination that
he is just picking

California or DC or Virginia,
you know,

where he's picking this, this
primarily a black

or a minority mayor
or a governor?

Well, we know that's
happening.

You just have to listen
to the words.

I mean, Tom Homan and
Gregory Bovino,

the spokesperson for the Department
of Homeland Security,

Tricia McLaughlin, or
Kristi Noem,

you listen to their words
and they have said,

we're going after brown
people.

That's what we're doing.

It's no secret.

I mean, you can't go to
the Supreme Court

with that same information,
that same energy

and say this is discrimination
at its highest level.

He said it was okay.

There's a Supreme Court
decision that said

they can do this based
on skin color.

You?

Yes, yes.

It's the Supreme Court is
not a good place

for anybody to be right now.

mean, tomorrow,

there is a special conference
to pick up

whether the Kim Davis, the
old Kim Davis case,

picking that up to decide

people like myself and Don
and other folks in here

that love and have gay people
in their life,

whether they can remain
married.

So that's tomorrow.

And just from what I've been
hearing from scholars,

from people that are in the
game all the way down

from Hillary Clinton, folks
were saying,

this is going to happen.

They're going to take this
up and hear it again.

It only takes four, right?

What do you think about what's
going to happen tomorrow?

I don't know what or when
they'll actually tell us

that they're going to decide
to hear it.

But a lot of us gay folks out
here are getting ready.

It's very similar to the
rumblings before Roe.

Just getting ready.

And if they decide to
do this, right,

we've got to live through
the better part

of eight or nine months waiting
to see about that fate.

They want to send it back
to the States

as they did with Roe.

Yeah, I mean, whether you're
a scholar,

or somebody who practices before
the Supreme Court,

or whether you're just reading
about what's happening,

there is no good news coming
out of the Supreme Court.

Nobody expects anything coming
out of the Supreme Court

to be positive in any sense
of the word.

And the remedy, it's going
to take a long time,

is we need to change out
the presidency.

We need to get a new
Congress.

We need to change.

Maybe someday we'll, I
hate to say it,

because it's not a
great thing,

but expand the Supreme Court to
dilute the Trump appointees

because we can't live
with it.

We can't live with it.

Yeah.

to what everybody said,

So the first one is, I don't
know why anybody

would be really surprised.

I feel like black people have
been dealing with this issue

since we were brought here
on end chains

in the bowels of a boat,
of a ship,

and been treated poorly throughout
this nation's history,

being strung up from trees
and whatnot and whatever.

And it feels like a lot of times
that when we bring that up

or different things
happen to us,

there's not as much outrage.

It's not the same.

It's not the same outrage.

And that doesn't mean that
I don't feel bad for,

or feel horrible,

because what's happening is
disgusting and despicable

on all of that.

But you don't see strange
fruit.

Okay, so we really need to
think about the fact

that it didn't get real until

it was somebody other
than us.

And I think that that is sad.

I think it's despicable
and disgusting

what this administration
is doing.

But I also, and I believe
that we need to help

our Brown brothers.

I really, really do believe
that brothers and sisters,

because it's horrible what's
happening to them.

But I do wanna keep
things in,

I do wanna make sure that
we all understand

that everything is always
a precursor

or like a pallet tester for what
they ultimately want to do

for people who look like me.

And then the final thing
that I wanna say is

I've always said this,

I've said this a million
times in the chat

and I'm gonna keep
on saying it

when I'm on any chat
or in any form.

I think, especially with this
administration,

everything, the way you
make a difference

is always financial.

And so they didn't hear anything
until we took away,

until we took our dollars
out of target

and just took our dollars
just in general.

And so I am of the mindset,

I'm like, why do we keep
funding this?

Why are we funding this?

If we don't believe in it,

they can't do it without
our money.

And we keep saying on your
taxpayer dollar,

on your taxpayer dollar,

well then you know what?

Maybe the federal government
shouldn't get our taxes,

maybe the state should,

but maybe the federal
government shouldn't

because it's kind of like Mondani
said the other day,

you know, in order to get
to any of us,

you gotta get through
all of us.

So if we are all of the same
mindset and we say,

you know, hey, you are not
getting any more

of our federal dollars,
then guess what?

What you gonna fund it with?

With your thoughts and
your dreams

and your prayers and
everything else?

Because we all know that
he has fake money

floating around his head
trillions of dollars

or whatever else supposedly,

but doesn't have money
to pay for SNAP.

So that's just my soapbox
and sorry,

I took so much time, I just
need to get that out.

I think you need to get
it all worked.

Two quick responses.

One is that, you know, Congress
should do its job

and they can reduce the
funding for ICE

and they should do it because
it's in the bad, bad bill,

you know, has gone up, you
know, by a factor.

So that's one thing that Congress
can do is that,

you know, just literally reduce
the funding for ICE.

But the other, your earlier
point is so well taken

and you know, I can't quote
Martin Luther King,

but I think he said it, you
know, exactly right,

which is that, you know,
people should be judged

by the content of their
character

not the color of their skin.

And I think everybody
believes that

and we should, you know,
embrace that thought

because it's so powerful.

May money.

been sick all week,

but I'll try to protect
as much as I can.

Yeah, I wanna just start with
what Nicole said.

I really do highly agree with
the taking the money

like keeping our federal
taxes,

especially California, I'm
in the Bay Area.

I don't think that we should
be playing in funding

any of this until they get
their shit together.

So I highly agree that
financially is,

run these pockets is
the way to go

until, you know, make
it temporary.

We don't got to secede
from the nation,

but especially if SNAP benefits
and things like that

are being taken away, we can
just keep our money

and make sure that Californians
are okay, you know?

But back to kind of what we
were talking about,

I noticed how, excuse me, how
quickly the mood changed

from what, you know, we were
talking about on Tuesday

and everything that happened
on Tuesday to, you know,

two days later, maybe, to where
the mood's at again.

And so that's why I wasn't
very like up in arms

and like, yay about, you know,
what happened on Tuesday,

even though it's good and yes,
it's a little bit like

moving the needle, maybe a
centimeter or two.

But we, first of all, we have
to keep the momentum on,

but again, I'm not gonna give
no cookies for,

in a flowers for people, for
us just doing our basic

bare minimum like things to have
a functioning society.

Okay, like, yeah, people went
out to go vote.

That's what you're supposed
to do.

You're supposed to vote like
with an educational kind of

mind when you go into the
voting booth,

you're not supposed to
accidentally vote

for a fucking fascist.

Like you're supposed to not be
a fascist and vote for one

and not vote in your own
self interest.

So I'm not gonna give cookies
and clap and flowers

for people that just pass
the tutorial.

Like that's like us being
like, yay,

you did such a great
job, you know,

at not failing the test,
but you got a D.

Like that doesn't work that
way, you guys.

And so we, we got to keep
the foot on the gas.

And I don't think we're
doing near enough

because it's only been two days
and look at the horrific

shit that we've just seen.

It's like nothing happened.

I agree, I agree, my mom.

dreams thought

that I would, you know,
experience this right

in this country, at least,

It's hurtful, disappointing.

I'm just gonna, I gotta keep

never condone violence,

I go into places.

So I live in Louisville,
Kentucky.

I was telling everybody where
the plane crashed yesterday.

places in what's called

like the Eastern Kentucky
area, you know,

as a mixed woman or whatever

I'm black, but, you know.

And I carry a gun.

I have everything with me.

I've got a gun, I've got a
bat, I've got mace,

I've got everything.

Cause I'm going into towns
that voted for this man,

that voted for this foolishness,

honestly, I literally,

you know, I'm always that person
that's in the room

else when I get there,

have to arm myself.

and I gotta watch myself.

So, you know, they think I'm something
else half the time,

regardless,

and even that makes
me more angry,

And listening to what everybody
has had to say has,

do so much.

I want to do anything
that I can.

Right now I'm feeding people.

I'm going to the military base
out here on Fort Knox

and we're feeding people.

We're doing the, you know, we're
doing things that we can

because of the SNAP benefit
situation.

But I have to say, you
know, that FAFL,

all of those people that voted
for this nonsense,

especially that Eastern
Kentucky area,

they are hurting like crazy

because every last one of the
schools out there,

they all get SNAP benefits,
they get Medicaid,

they get everything
under the sun.

And now they're crying.

Now they're losing
their minds.

Now they're asking me, how
can you help us?

What can you do, you know,
with your businesses

and companies to help us?

You know, and I'm thinking,
well, I tried it.

You know, I'm doing what I
can, but I have to say

it's 99.9% Caucasian.

And I just write Jennifer

and I just have to keep it
real that, you know,

it's just, it's hard.

It's just, that's all I'm
going to say.

I'm pissed.

I'm angry and it's kind
of hard, you know?

not Judge Ellis,

because we had so much
going on

in the Northern District
of Illinois,

but I was in Judge Gettleman's
courtroom

on the other lawsuit,

which is the inhumane treatment
of detainees.

And yesterday he issued an order
that's requiring ICE

to keep better track of
who they have

and to make that information
available

so that family members
can know,

are there loved ones
in custody?

And if so, where are they
being detained?

Because at the Broadview
Illinois facility,

you get detained and then
some people are in there

for five days with no
shower and no,

horrible sanitary conditions,

but other people shipped out
for different places.

somewhere 45 minutes ago,

or 30 minutes ago.
