do, believe me. It's the last thing in

so that was sight unseen otherwise known
as out of sight out of mind and i'm

beginning to question whether those
titles were an inside joke or not the

desperately tried to deliver
psychological thrills but instead ended

devolving into a campy slasher flick and
while the setup had real potential in

my opinion the payoff was one big
letdown however

To the film's credit, it did throw us
into the action from the very outset

we're caught up in Alice's unimaginable
nightmare.

I mean, the story she reveals to her
therapist was as horrifying as it was

ridiculous. What kind of evil monster
would go around stabbing children while

wearing a Japanese kabuki mask?

It's an absolutely insane proposition.
That is...

somehow made believable by Susan
Blakely's top -notch performance.

Her realistic portrayal of a mother on
the brink of madness who's being haunted

by her daughter's ghost was second to
none.

I've seen her in plenty of TV movies
before and she always elevates even the

most mediocre of writing and directing.

Unfortunately, the same can't be said
about the other actors involved.

Both Wings Houser and Edward Albert were
incredibly wooden in their respective

roles. The low budget production value
didn't do them any favours either.

Many scenes were awkwardly shot with odd
camera angles that seemed more

amateurish than they did stylish.

And then there was the soundtrack.

It was loud, overly dramatic and
distracted more than it enhanced.

Creating an almost...

soap opera quality at moments that
should have been suspenseful and when

twist finally did arrive it lacked any
real impact because not only was my

immersion broken by that point but i was
left with far too many breadcrumbs

along the way to even care it's like the
film wanted to keep us guessing who the

real killer was but accidentally gave
the game away in the end instead of

shocked I just found myself thinking,
yeah, yeah, whatever.

So, if I had to rate the movie, I could
only honestly give it an underwhelming

two stars, and that's probably being
generous.
