‐ At home we have ten cats.

They have a separate room. It's very big.

But me and my mom and brother share one room

for everybody.

Sometimes I think that my mom loves them more than me.

Cats are very hard to train.

They think that we are the slaves

and we should do everything for them.

It takes almost one year to teach them something.

[cat screeching]

Dasha! [meow]

Everybody knows that Simon is not a cat person.

But we hope we can change his mind

with our amazing cats.

and this is my mom, Svetlana. ‐ And what do you do?

‐ We train cats. ‐ Cats.

that we've seen a lot of these tricks done by dogs.

I have never seen a cat do that.

is that people come from all over the world

to show us things we've never seen before.

And you did that.

‐ Mel, what'd you think? ‐ That was brilliant,

‐ Obviously, I'm also very impressed.

I used to have a cat and even if I would call her name,

she wouldn't even come inside of the house.

‐ And she left, right? You don't have her anymore.

‐ Well, she died. ‐ [gasps] Oh.

‐ That's why I don't have her anymore.

She was old.

‐ Moving on. [laughter]

You know why that was so impressive?

Because dogs want to please.

Cats are like, "Make me."

And they had sort of, like, cattitude.

I think there's a gap in the market for this.

I feel with my dog sometimes,

it's like, I wanna take them out

[laughs] to see a show and this is a show

I could take them to.

Howie, yes or no? ‐ Yes for me

and for all the animals in attendance.

‐ I really wanna see what those cats are gonna do next.

‐ My name is Shin Lim. I am from Boston, Massachusetts

and I am a magician.

I was 16 when I first found magic.

My first performance ever was at my parents church.

I was doing close‐up magic.

And I just got a bunch of pity claps.

‐ "AGT" stage. ‐ Yeah, I've seen it

ever since I was young.

I was like, oh, my gosh, one day, hopefully,

I can go on this stage and perform.

I was pretty shy talking to girls

and so I thought magic would be a good way

to kinda get a girlfriend.

But it turns out, you have to talk to girls.

So, I‐‐I‐‐ [laughs] ‐ Is that all?

You're just gonna take a deck of cards?

‐ That's all I do. It's just a deck of cards.

‐ Hi, there. Who are you?

‐ My name is Jimmy Ichihana

I'm magician. ‐ Ah.

[cheers and applause] Okay.

‐ See, it's not just the clubs.

That would be all of the diamonds,

all of the hearts.

Guys, thank you so much. You guys have been awesome.

but I wonder if there's any way you can

make it a little bit more entertaining.

‐ My name is Ian Brown. ‐ And where are you from, Ian?

‐ I live in South Carolina,

but I was born and raised in Scotland

and moved to the states about 20 years ago.

‐ Oh, I can hear that. Okay. Tell me about the act,

what you're gonna do, please. ‐ Well, I am not here

to be on‐stage talent.

I'm here because I want to be a judge.

‐ Oh. ‐ What, on this show?

‐ On this show.

‐ Why?

‐ Like many people in America,

I sit at home and say, "Simon, that's the wrong decision.

Howie, that's the wrong decision."

I want to be able to do that.

[laughter] [cheers and applause]

‐ So you're‐‐this is like a job interview.

‐ It's like a job interview, yeah.

I don't have as much experience in TV

as the present judges panel,

but I consider myself to have the qualities

that a judge should have.

When I came to this country, I worked in the theater

and I got to see a huge variety of talent.

I feel that I can tell the difference

between good and bad and say, yeah,

I think these people can make it or not.

You wanna give me an example of some of the stuff

you're gonna do tonight? ‐ Uh...

no.

‐ So of four judges‐‐um, I've given this thought‐‐

the one that I would probably replace would be Howie.

Howie's a professional comedian,

but I think that I could do just as good a job.

‐ Can you tell me a joke?

‐ Ah. Um...

No.

[exhales]

Being a judge on "AGT"

would completely turn my life around.

Who knows where it'll go.

Ten years, I could be still in the job I'm in

or I could be on the panel with "AGT."

‐ Who's your favorite judge?

Like, who do you agree with the most?

Like, who do you‐‐ ‐ Oh.

Uh, I usually say things the way I see them.

‐ Right. ‐ And I think that's what

Simon and I have in common. ‐ Oh, God.

‐ Well, that's a tough decision.

and we have to keep the

male/female balance right here.

How does it feel to be back together

with your judge fam? ‐ I am so excited.

I love being here. We have the best seat in the house,

‐ And we're a sibling band from McMinnville, Oregon.

‐ What's your name? ‐ My name is Joshua.

‐ And how old are you, Joshua? ‐ 27.

‐ And you are? ‐ My name's Bethany,

and I'm 24. ‐ And I'm Manny

and I'm 21. ‐ Nice to meet you.

‐ Nice to meet you. ‐ And who are you

here with today? ‐ A lot of our family.

‐ A lot of our family, they're all up there.

‐ I can see them. ‐ Wow.

‐ And our dad. Yeah. ‐ Our dad.

‐ Okay. Now tell me the story about you guys.

‐ Well, our dad had a family band with his siblings

and we kind of decided to do the same thing.

‐ I like that. ‐ Aw, that's nice.

‐ Before we could even walk, we were immersed in music.

‐ Dad's family band toured the Northwest

and Mom would actually man the soundboard.

‐ Yeah. ‐ As we got older,

Mom and Dad helped us learn instruments.

‐ And then eventually, we started performing

with each other.

‐ Mom‐‐she had a beautiful voice.

And she was so supportive of us.

But then, in 2015, she had severe back pain.

She went to the doctor and they found

large masses throughout her body.

She got diagnosed with stage four carcinoma cancer.

We had kind of a shocking four months with her

before she passed,

which was way shorter than we were expecting.

Very, very quick.

‐ We stayed really close. We did everything together.

Up to her last breath, we were there.

‐ Yeah.

She was so loved.

‐ After our mom passed,

we discovered some of her journals.

‐ She talked about losing her mom.

We found it at the perfect time for us.

Just being able to relate so much

with the words that we were reading.

‐ Kinda felt like we got to have one last

conversation with her. ‐ Yeah.

‐ We were very inspired to write the song

we're performing this evening.

This is an opportunity to celebrate her

and the hope that we have that we're gonna

get to see her again one day.

[cheers and applause]

‐ Okay, and what's the song and what's it about?

‐ It's about our mother who passed away from cancer

about two years ago.

And it's a song written from her perspective,

kinda talking to us in, like, her last month.

‐ Wow. ‐ Aww.

‐ Well listen, best of luck, guys.

So I felt like that song was just meant for me

and my dad was singing that to me.

You know, you had me from the very first second.

Both of you have great voices.

This was so strong. The best thing I can say

There's something really special about you guys.

I mean, it was, like, real.

I honestly think we're at the start of something big here.

and we're a group of best friends from Denver, Colorado.

This group originally came together

for our high school talent show.

It was our senior year, so we thought,

let's go out with a splash.

And when we performed, we got a great reception.

People were standing, cheering.

And we thought to ourselves,

maybe‐‐maybe there's something here.

After graduation, we ended up going to different cities,

got real jobs and kinda forgot about our act.

But our real love is performing.

And that's why we're here today.

[operatic singing]

We decided to come back together

to give this one last shot.

We're not ready to let this dream die.

We all come from Sampaloc, Manila

which is a rough neighborhood in the Philippines.

There's a lot of crime.

There's not a lot of opportunity.

And it's a struggle to get by.

We're all trying to help our family

to earn money, but it's hard to find a job.

So we spent all day picking up recycled materials

in the street and sell it to the junk shop

to earn money for our family.

Some of us have 12 family members

and they take turns sleeping because there's

not enough room for them to sleep.

‐ For us, dancing is our life, dancing is our passion.

‐ It's our dream to dance as a living.

But the only place to have practice

is on the train tracks.

And when the train comes, we have to jump off the rail

and continue our practice after the train goes by.

We saved all of our money to move here, in America.

‐ And‐‐[sniffles] really, really miss our families.

‐ If we win "America's Got Talent,"

the life of 11 families in the Philippines will change.

My mom, she found out she was pregnant.

We were on track to really become a family.

We had just moved in our first house.

A week or so later, I got the call that he's been shot.

‐ I think it was, like, a rap rivalry.

I'm not sure.

‐ The day he passed, me being pregnant his child‐‐

it was the most devastating day of my life.

He was 20 years old.

He was a baby.

I broke down so bad.

I just went into total shock.

My doctor said, "You're losing weight,

and you should be gaining weight."

He was so real, you know?

And I went home and said I gotta make sure

this baby is okay.

‐ When I listen to my father's music,

it inspired me to make my own.

‐ I really feel Flau'Jae's inheriting her dad's talent.

‐ In my city, Savannah, a lot of people said,

"Being on 'America's Got Talent'"?

[inhales sharply] "I don't know, Flau'Jae."

Like, "Girl, really?"

But I don't care how people feel about it.

Tonight, I have my father behind me.

I started a wedding chapel business

and I became an ordained minister.

I even have a bed in the back

for a half‐hour honeymoon for an extra $29.95.

could really change my life.

This could take me from my trailer park in Oceanside

to a trailer park in Malibu.

where I can show our skills and our talent.

‐ My name is Peterson da Cruz.

I am the creator of Zurcaroh.

I think that we are special because

we are not professional dancers.

And everybody's welcome.

‐ And so how long have you been leading this troupe?

‐ The group is almost ten years.

‐ Ten years. ‐ Yeah, yeah.

I started this group because I want to change people's life.

I want to give them opportunity.

I grew up in Sao Paulo, Brazil

in a really poor area.

And the only opportunity that you have there

is to follow the crime.

When I was in the fifth grade, I had five friends.

We were always together.

But I'm the only one who survived.

I knew that I would have no future

if I would stay in this world.

And then that moment, I decide

that dance could be my rescue.

This group‐‐ I live my life for them.

I want to work with the new generation

and give them some future.

‐ Peterson is kind of a father for us.

‐ Yeah, he provides a place where you can live your dreams.

If it wasn't for him, we would not be here.

‐ "America's Got Talent" is the biggest

platform in the world and through this performance,

our life can change.
