Hello out there and welcome to Compression Explained. In these videos,

going to discuss compression overall, not just as it relates to one particular

thing, but as it relates to an entire world of recording concepts and

techniques. We're going to be learning all about the functions of various

compressors, the history of compression, how to use the various controls that

we'll see, and other useful things that will gain us a deeper understanding of

the compressor in general that we can then apply to the specific plugins that

prefer to use.

This series of videos is geared towards someone just starting out with

compression. If the words threshold and ratio are foreign to you, then you've

definitely picked the right series.

However, even if you have some experience with compressors, you might
