He kept coming, and then he shot him again.

I make a living in the movie. But for the past 20 years, I've also been

a cop.

And along with some of the finest deputies on the force, I serve the

Jefferson Parish, Louisiana.

So we're going to this little neighborhood called Orleans Village and

can find out what's going on.

We're the ones who coughed up and heard the gunfire.

The gunfire, it sounded like it was between the two houses, so we just fell

the bed onto the ground.

Looks like this couple owns a vehicle that was parked in front of their house.

They were sleeping in bed when they heard the shots fired.

At least a dozen. Wow.

It sounded like a shotgun and a handgun.

Looks like nine, nine millimeter to me.

At this point, we don't know if this vehicle is the intended target or

they just got caught in the crossfire.

Johnny, let's get in the car and start looking because, you know, we don't need

20 people here.

We have a description of the shooters.

Two black males.

We're now going to be camping in the area, looking for the slush branch.

And two young black males who seemed very agitated. They may have been the

people that were being shot at.

We're going to interview some of the people in the area and determine whether

not this is related to the same shooting we just came from.

I don't know. I was at home and I called my son and I said, where are you? He

said, I'm at the studio, which is in Orleans Village.

And I said, well, come on home.

The studio is in Orleans Village?

Orleans Village is the neighborhood that we just came from.

They may have been parked across the street from the other car that was shot

When they came out of the studio, he said his brother was driving the car,

he ain't yet got into the car when two guys come running up and start shooting

at him. And you don't know who?

They're claiming that they don't know who the shooters are, but around here my

experience is that 90 % of the time when they do know who the shooters are, they

have a street code where they just won't tell the police.

I'm going to talk to that other victim and see what he's got to say.

The important thing is there's one less gun on the street. All right. This is an

area where a lot of children play.

And if one of them had come across this gun, they could have been injured or

worse, even killed.

Once we get the call, we pretty much swamp the area, try to flush all the bad

guys out.

The greater Jefferson Parish area has a lot more cosmopolitan than people think.

There are a lot of great restaurants around here.

My team has been working really hard, and I wanted to take them out for a

dinner.

Polinoya has probably the best Japanese food in the New Orleans area.

I'm here to meet the master chef and set up the dinner.

As much as I love Louisiana and have been down here since my childhood or

I was raised in Japan.

I fell in love with it and then started studying the martial arts over there.

It's like crazy delicious.

A lot of authentic Japanese food are things that no Americans would ever

think of eating.

We got back to the house and he started disrespecting me. I told him I was being

a bitch. And I said, look, stop disrespecting me or you're going to have

leave my house.

I went and got my daddy. I said, look, this man's starting to stop.

Then he was like, he was standing over there. He said, oh, no.

He had off and came at me like this.

He became abusive, threatening her.

My dad fired a warning shot.

He came after my dad. My dad shot him.

And then that was it.

You see that right there, Johnny, up on the wall? Yeah.

That's the warning shot. But it went into the ceiling.

And he just completely ignored you when you told him the first time? Yeah.

And as he advanced on you, that's when you fired at him? Yeah.

Well,

the thing of it is, if you told him, get out of the house, and he won't leave,

and he charges you, you fire a warning shot, and he's still charging you.

Yeah, I wouldn't hurt him too bad.

You know, a lot of times we're investigating criminal shootings and

pull illegal guns off the street.

But here's a case where a private citizen had to use his own firearm to

his home and his family.
