And I have to say, my whole
life growing up there,

there was one place that people
would always talk about

that's creepier than any other.

It is known as
"The Bridgewater Triangle."

If you're from Massachusetts,
you know this place.

And reportedly,
it has everything.

Spirits, Bigfoot sightings,
UFOs, Pukwudgies.

- "Pukwuddies"?
- Exactly.

And people are constantly
messaging me, sharing evidence,

creepy stories, saying that
we have to visit this place.

So, enough.

It is high time
that "Expedition X"

gets to the great state
of Massachusetts

and enters
the Bridgewater Triangle.

Drive through Southeastern
Massachusetts and you'll see

New England
at its most charming.

White church steeples
and colonial-era homes

surrounded by dense
farmland and forests.

You'd be forgiven for not
realizing this is reportedly

one of the most paranormally
active areas in America.

The Bridgewater Triangle.

Godfather of the unexplained,
Loren Coleman, first shined

a spotlight on the region
in the 1980s.

While mapping
paranormal occurrences,

he discovered an unusually high
concentration of claims

in a triangular zone
between the towns

of Abington, Freetown,
and Rehoboth.

Today, most researchers believe
the Triangle is even larger

and that almost every aspect
of the occult

can be found within it.

There's the cryptids.

The Native American tribes
in the area told tales

of pukwudgies,
woodland creatures

known for their malevolent
mischief-making,

sometimes even luring people
to their deaths,

But the most common beast
supposedly lurking

in these woods is Bigfoot.

Reports exploded in the 1970s
and haven't stopped since.

The Triangle also has a long
history of UFO activity.

A dozen witnesses in 1976
reported seeing

a football field-sized
triangular craft

moving silently over the city
of Bridgewater.

And then there's the hauntings.

Properties throughout
the region,

particularly historic homes,
are regularly sites

of supernatural reports,
disembodied voices,

inexplicable temperature drops,
and sinister apparitions.

What could possibly explain
all this strange activity?

Some whisper that a powerful
energy exists hidden beneath

the Triangle, saying the area's
unique geology is somehow

creating a portal between
our world and other dimensions.

Locals are overwhelmed,
desperate for us to map

the many mysteries
of the Bridgewater Triangle.

Pretty creepy.

Yeah, and what's so
interesting here is that

they have such a variety
of unexplained activity.

It reminds me
of our investigation in Utah.

that thing was.

And we saw a spectrum of things
we could not explain there.

And these places
really fascinate me.

These places of convergence,
where the only theme is,

there is no theme.

to connect the dots here

of the madness here?

Well, what's so fascinating
and creepy about

the Bridgewater Triangle is
there is no historical reason

for all this activity.
There's no infamous battles.

There's no abandoned
insane asylum.

There's no extreme tragedy.

It just seems like this place
is paranormally charged.

And so since it doesn't have
this obvious history,

what do you think could be
causing all that activity?

Well, maybe there's something
to these claims about

strange energy, or it's coming
from the land itself.

But the one thing I do know,
we're not going to learn

anything sitting here yapping

and figure out what's going on!

to Bridgewater, Massachusetts,

where a large group of locals
are already gathered

for a chance to tell
their strange stories.

"I'm on a Phil-grimage."

[chuckles] Oh, my gosh!
That's so bad.

But I did some homework,
and I found another

slang word for you.

that's from Massachusetts?

Wow.

This is an area we have heard
countless stories about.

I'm a law enforcement officer
here in the Commonwealth.

I was out in the forest
one morning,

and I hear a woman's
voice clear as day.

And it says, "We're here too."

I look around,
and there's nobody there.

And off about 100 yards
to my left, I see a white birch.

And all of a sudden, it snapped
in half, like a matchstick.

Me being a law enforcement,
I need tangible factual

evidence for most things.
I have no explanation for this.

[witness] I've been a hunter
all my life.

I don't get scared that easy.

This...

This is scary.

There's something big going on
in the back of these woods

that I believe is Bigfoot.

I dealt with a creature walking
around my property out back.

One night, you could hear
something bipedal walk up

through the trees.
I couldn't see it.

And it goes "grah!"
like that, just growled at me,

like "grah!"

And just started
beating on a tree.

It just went boom, boom, boom.

That right there
freaked me out,

'cause it seemed aggressive.

And that tree came down
like fast.

I was like,
keep coming back to that.

I have a family of bigfoots
living in my backyard.

I'm the owner of one
of the oldest homes

in the Bridgewater Triangle.

People have had their hair
pulled in the house,

objects thrown.

I have had disembodied voices,

almost everything
under the sun.

It's not just in the house,
it's outside the house.

- What are we talking about?
- I've got UFO activity.

One night, I saw three objects
in a triangular formation

coming from the south,

and when
they reached the zenith,

they disappeared one at a time.

No red and green lights,
which you would assume

with an aircraft.

I mean, that's pretty weird.

Unnerving sometimes.

One of the most freakiest
things I've experienced inside

the Triangle is I saw lights
in the woods bouncing around.

You instinctively follow them,
and you don't know where

it's going to lead.

I've heard stories that people
get lured into the woods.

They jump off bridges and rock
walls and fall to their death.

[Phil] You felt like
you were being drawn

to a dangerous situation.

Mm-hmm.

if you're going to investigate

in the Bridgewater Triangle,
you have to visit

the Hockomock Swamp.

I experienced everything
from disembodied voices,

strange lights,
cryptid activity.

There's something out there.

I don't know exactly what
it is, but you can feel it

Built in 1717, it once welcomed
weary travelers as an inn.

But today, it's said to host

something else entirely--
the undead.

Justin Lewinter bought
the house five years ago

and has experienced a variety
of frightening activity

ever since.

because I love the history

Never occurred to me this place
could be so haunted,

have such paranormal activity.

I've had friends that have had
their hair pulled.

and door opening and closing

cameras both inside and outside

facing the woods

will catch anything coming

from the infamous
Hockomock Swamp.

With those set,
I begin my investigation

of the house itself.

Indoors, this is
an active haunting

that is interacting
with guests.

To me, that means this is going
to be a wild night!

While Heather's investigating
the historic haunted house,

I've been hiking the woods
east of the Hockomock Swamp,

searching for any signs
that could back up the reports

of what people say is Bigfoot.

So my best tool tonight
is gonna be the FLIR.

Some of the reports
from people in this area,

that they see trees
get knocked over.

The grunts, the knocks,

the seemingly
aggressive behavior.

If you're to believe them,
it seems like whatever is

out here is not
afraid of people.

So aside from
a thermal signature,

I'm also looking
for any claw marks on trees

that could tell us bears
are around here.

I'm looking for scat,

anything that could hint at
what large animal

is living out here
and terrifying the locals.

a terrifying encounter

in the heart of the Hockomock,

one so disturbing that he says

it blurred the boundaries
between spirit and beast.

What can you tell me
about the swamp?

[Harry] I was out one night
deep in the Hockomock,

and one particular area,
I smelled this musky smell,

the same scent that people get
a whiff of right before

a Sasquatch sighting.

The temperature
started to decrease.

Then, believe it or not, I saw

this bluish face
hovering above the trees,

and it evaporated
into this misty lightning.

The hairs on my arms stood up.

What's so interesting to me

is any of those things happened
singularly,

where should we look?

because that's where a number
of paranormal things, UFOs,

as well as cryptids
have occurred.

But bear in mind, what you go
looking for in the Triangle

is not necessarily
what finds you.

So we need to be careful.

that water can be

a paranormal conduit.

So essentially,
we're at a spiritual crossroads

with an ancient bridge
and this water leading directly

to the swamp.

The Skim Milk Bridge is
a dry-stone slab bridge,

which means it was made
without any mortar.

No one knows exactly when
or how it was built,

but it likely dates back
to the late 18th century.

Historians believe the name
comes from stories

that the water turned milky
during its construction

due to disturbed white clay.

But bigger than the mystery
of its creation

is the mystery
of its purpose.

Why does it sit at the center

of so many
supernatural reports?

Could this mysterious structure
somehow be a conduit

for the strange energy
in the bedrock below?
