[Episode 29]

Are you sure that the next clue will

lead us to the forest of the Snake Tribe?

Wang Xiangyang is just a normal person.

He couldn't have come up with the riddle by himself. Ya Qing helped him for sure.

The only place that links us with the Crow Tribe

is here.

Black Robe Envoy. Chief Zhao.

What brought you guys here?

It's a long story.

Fourth Uncle, the world is about to change.

I'm afraid that the Snake Tribe

cannot stay out of the conflict this time.

Fourth Uncle, we came to look for

clues that Ya Qing could have left behind.

Ya Qing? Clues?

Please wait.

Ya Qing left these keys when she came this morning.

She even said that I would soon know what they were for.

- Only these keys? No clue about the car? - None.

I think she already gave us the clue.

With only this ordinary phone,

- how can we figure it out?- I've checked the history of that telephone booth,

it was built 20 years ago.

At that time, there was a revolution of communication.

No one ever bothered with this telephone booth until now.

It was left there until now

for tourism purposes.

If it has not been used much,

why are there marks like these? That might be a clue.

The most attrited numbers are 0159.

There are lots of combinations for those numbers.

Using the exhausting manner is a waste of time.

No need for that.

9 should be

the end of this combination,

because it's the most damaged key.

Based on a human's habit,

we tend to press the last number the hardest.

In that logic, 5 should be the first. This button's center is more attrited than its contours,

meaning it's the first button pressed.

Button 1 has more damage on the bottom half,

while button 0's wear and tear is the upper half.

Thus, 0 should have come before 1

because in the path from 0 to 9, the button 0's right half

should have been more damaged.

If you put it this way,

the combination should be 5019.

Wow, this is all thanks Professor Shen's

habit of using landline phones.

Give notice to all departments

to search for a Jeep car within the city

with plate number 5019.

We should take our own affairs in hand, and not only rely on Special Investigations.

Yes, sir!

Li Qian, from now on, you concentrate on the research.

Don't listen or mind other things.

It should be this one.

There is someone in the back.

Hello, Boss. Those are petals of a cottage rose.

Cottage rose?

Yes, it is a kind of bush.

Its roots can rot easily with too much watering.

It won't normally grow near water.

Okay, I got it.

Also, the language of a cottage rose is pure love.

It is frequently used for weddings.

Weddings?

Honey, how do I look?

Yeah, not bad

Hey, look. Is it pretty?

What are you doing?

People don't usually take their own wedding pictures.

We don't have the money to hire a photographer.

Anyways, look at the quality of photos with this phone.

It will be as good as from cameras when printed out.

Say, stop dilly-dallying. Come on, let's take pictures!

The rent for the wedding dress is expensive.

Over there, let's go take pictures beside the river!

How come there is a Jeep here?

Wow! That's fantastic!

We can use it as our background! Let's—

Are you okay?

Honey, look!

The keys are here!

Don't touch it!

Can we take this car?

- What are you doing? - It opened!

- Suxia! - Give me the flowers!

I'm telling you. We cannot take things that we didn't earn.

Did you hear me?

The owner will be worried if he can't find this car upon returning.

I admit that I am a stupid person.

Are you sick of me?

Come down.

Actually, I like the simple-minded person you are.

An honest, staying within bounds, good person.

I was thinking about how lucky I am

to meet you.

Suxia,

I promise you,

that I'll sell those fruits to make honest money.

One day,

I'll buy us a car like this, too.

Okay. I get it.

Zhu Hong and Da Qing have investigated the owner of the car.

It belongs to his ex-wife.

It had been abandoned by the river along with the car keys when they got divorced.

I think...

he probably doesn't have anything to do with this case.

Chief Zhao,

we've used all the resources of Seastar Administration

but still cannot find any clues.

Okay, Old Bro Guo,

take Minister Gao home first.

Okay.

Come, give me a hand.

- I'll head back first.- Okay.

The clues will not appear by themselves.

The most urgent thing now

is to link these clues together.

We have five hours left.

The wedding...

The phone booth...

Wang Xiangyang...

I couldn't find it.

Not in the grass, not by the trees, not under the slide.

I can't find Xiao Ba.

Where did it go?

I've looked everywhere!

I've done my best!

Do you think I will sympathize with you, pity you,

or even comfort you?

Put your hand here.

There is an idiom called "ask your heart."

Ask yourself.

Have you truly looked seriously?!

Using your way of finding things, it is way too messy!

It is not efficient and a total waste of time!

Do you really know its character?

Understand what it likes?

What were you doing before it was lost?

And what was it doing?

Clues,

they never fall from the sky.

It doesn't matter if it is a dog or a person,

its actions will follow its emotions.

If you want to know its behavioral route,

you have to know

what is the most important thing to him.

Bai Suxia...

The wedding...

The telephone booth...

- Hello. - Hey, Little Guo.

When Wang Xiangyang chatted with you,

did he ever mention the telephone booth?

Huh? No, he did not.

Oh! I remember now!

I think he proposed to his wife at a telephone booth.

Hurry! Go to Wang Xiangyang's house right now with Old Chu!

Wait a moment! What's wrong?

You again?

You've come just in time.

If you see Wang Xiangyang, please tell him

that I've waited long enough and can be said to have given him enough affection.

The store has to be taken back.

Can we take care of those things then?

Do whatever you want.

Let's see if there are clues.

Everything is set.

We just have to wait for the ending.

Me, the boss, and thousands of Demi-humans and Undergrounders

will remember your kindness.

I don't need that!

Solve the riddle!

Or else, the night will come soon.

Come out! You, the monster who bewitches people,

come out!

Wu Xiaojun,

your father just escaped after losing from me.

Stop babbling. Prepare to die!

If you desire the Light, then first revere the Night.

The power of gravity?

Isn't this the power of Gao Tianyu?

Lord Ye Zun can engulf and use others' energy and powers as his.

Thus, he is invincible with incredible powers.

Surrender!

Lord YeZun,

it was Wu Tian'en whom you defeated before.

Don't mind them.

There is only one step left

before I make it out of this awful cage.

By then, all grudges will be avenged and taken care of.

Brother Chu.

Brother Chu, take a look at this.

Chief Zhao was right.

The two places where he hid the hostages

were linked to the love story of the couple.

Honey, when you see this video,

our child should be born already.

I am a dumb and silly person.

I'm not good with words, either.

After considering everything, I decided to record it.

We've been through a lot together.

The first half of our lives, you've suffered with me.

For the rest of our lives, it may still be the same.

But I promise you that I will do everything I can

to not let you and our child starve to death.

Look!

Do you remember the day where you told me that you were pregnant?

We were standing right here, too.

That time, we looked forward

to our child coming to the best place in Dragon City.

Every word and sentence I said,

I remember them.

Everything will get better.

Honey, thank you.

That's it?

It has nothing to do with the riddle we had to solve.

No, he already said it.

Look! Do you remember the day where you told me that you were pregnant? We were standing right here, too. That time, we looked forward...

The two previous "levels" Mr. Wang designed

correspond with the proposal and the wedding.

If we go with that logic,

the day when he learned his wife was pregnant is as important.

For Wang Xiangyang,

the best place in Dragon City

is somewhere he wished his child could go one day.

And we heard the bell indicating class dismissal. It's very obvious.

University of Dragon City.

It's so cold up here.

- You're cold?- Yes.

- Wear mine. - Don't take it off. Aren't you cold?

No, I'm okay.

Why did you bring me up here all of a sudden?

Isn't it because Little Guo

bought all my fruits, so I have time to be with you.

I have something to tell you.

I'm pregnant.

I'm pregnant? No, you are pregnant!

Put me down!

Put me down!

- Really?!- Yes.

Of course, it's true.

Come! Come up.

Come down! Be careful not to fall. It's to high.

I'm telling you. When the baby is still in his mom's belly, we should be climbing up.

This way, he would have higher aspirations when he grows up.

We are influenced by good people on Guangming Road every day.

You're still afraid he won't have high expectations of himself?

Yeah, you are right.

When he grows up,

he should go work at Special Investigations

to serve the people.

Sit down first.

When he grows up,

he can serve the people, and I'll serve you and our baby.

Oh really! Will you be able to do that?

Of course!

I don't believe you.

What name should we give to our baby?

My name is Wang Xiangyang.

He can be Wang Xiaoyang (Wang Little Yang).

Such an old-school and uncool name! No way.

- Change it. - How is it uncool?

I didn't go to school much.

I can't come up with a pretty name.

The ex-Chief Zhao of Special Investigations. You know him, right?

Yes, I know him.

He is the most literate and knowledgeable person I know.

When our child arrives on this world,

I'll go ask him for a good name.

Yeah, that would be good.

I'll ask you one more time,

when you killed Gu Ban, was it a righteous decision?

Debating on the right or wrong of an event of the past is meaningless.

No matter what happened before,

your present actions prove that you are wrong.

Using violence to beat up violence,

will your loved one rest in peace then?

The new future is right in front of you.

You had the choice, kiddo.

You have a double personality?

I don't give a damn about your personalities.

Time is up.

Zhao Yunlan did not come.

That brat, he will not come.

Let's put that aside then.

You shall pay for your actions now.

Wait a moment.

Even if we are dying,

let us... die knowing the reason.

You won't have that opportunity.

Do it.

Everyone! It's really true that if fated, you'll travel thousands of miles just to meet up!

Wang Xiangyang, you are only an ordinary human.

You've been using the Merit Brush for too long.

Its dark energy has devoured you to an unknown extent now.

Stop committing mistakes.

Let him go.

Impossible!

I'm telling you!

- He is my ultimate target of revenge. - Wait.

He is just an old crappy man. What did he do to offend you?

Offend me?

If it was not because of him and the things they have done,

my wife would not have died.

I wouldn't become like this!

Yes, Honey.

You should stay over your aunt's place.

We are closing up now.

- Just one month and you're going to give birth.- Shopkeeper, can you please weigh these for us?

Honey, I'm fine.

I came out of her house already.

I'll take a taxi and will be home soon.

Okay then. Be careful on the road.

If anything happens, give me a call!

Yes, I know. Don't worry.

We are closing up! We're not selling anymore.

I have to go pick up my wife.

- What are you doing!? This...- Sorry!

- I'm sorry, I didn't mean to! - What are you doing?

My fruits! You...

I called it first!

Don't mind her. It belongs to whoever gets in.

Stop the car!

Come down!

- My fruits! Don't fight here! My fruits.- Sorry! Sorry!

Phone call from my wife! The phone...

What are you doing?!!?

It's a call from my wife! It is very important!

What is going on?

Why did he hang up on me?

There must be something wrong!

Taxi! Taxi!

Are you okay?

But your wife was sent to the hospital, wasn't she?

I still don't get what he has to do in all this.

What does he have to do with it?

You don't get it because you don't know

that night, your dad was at the hospital, too!

Honey! What is wrong?

- Doctor! Please save my wife!- Mister. Mister, get up first.

- She's pregnant!- Don't be like this, sir.

- Mister!- I beg you!!

Sir, sir! Get up first! Calm down a bit!

It is not that we don't want to save her.

She has massive bleeding and we don't have enough blood in the blood bank! Get up first.

Take my blood! Take all my blood to save her!

Sir, it is not your blood that can save her!

Sir, please calm down first!

Doctor Jin, urgent surgery! We need a blood transfusion!

Okay, I'm coming!

- Why is he getting transfused and not my wife?- Mister! Mister!

- Doctor! Doctor!- Don't get agitated.

Honey, wake up. Don't sleep…

Saying that you guys protect the people and I protect my family?

That's bullshit!

You! I admired you!

But the night you went to the hospital, you took away my wife and my child's life!

Don't you think that he deserves to die?!

- You! Say it! - Brother Wang, I…

If you need to kill someone,

killing a younger one would be better, isn't that so?

I am his son. I can take his place.

You are such a good son.

Wang Xiangyang, don't listen to them.

Zhao Yunlan is trying to trick you.

Him? Does he even deserve to be a son of mine?

I've said this many times.

If you want to do achieve something great,

you have to give up on something!

But him?

He seems to not care and appears unaffected,

but his actions are always sloppy!

I caused the death of my wife.

I've always regretted it. But what I regret the most is that he lived instead of his mother!

That's way better than him humiliating the Zhao family as he is doing now!

Old man, you are old now.

I'm able to see through what you're thinking now.

You don't want me to take your place,

so you are trying to make me angry.

I'm telling you, I'm different from you.

Instead of having regrets for twenty years,

I will follow my heart from the beginning.

I want you to know that

it is worth it to sacrifice one's self for one's family!

Shut up!

I'm telling you!

There were many times when I wanted to kill you.

I want him to taste the feeling of losing a loved one.

But I thought of it again,

whether you die first or he dies first, it doesn't matter.

Once my plan succeeds,

all of you will die!

What's going on?

It's working.

You should thank that geek scientist.

- Where is he? - You don't deserve to see him.

It's not over yet.

Zhao Yunlan!

Let me go! I don't want your help!

I'm telling you.

I could have remained silent,

but I don't want you to die as a stupid man!

How are you Director-General Zhao?

Who's that patient out there?

Save her first. I don't want to be an exception.

The exception? Everyone's life is equal. No one can be an exception.

It's just that the blood type of that patient out there is extremely rare.

There is only two cases like hers in the whole city.

One of them had disappeared in an underground boxing place half a year ago.

The other one, we have just contacted him.

Before the material arrives, we cannot do anything.

Keep on fighting.

You must make it through.

You are saying that her death was not because of you?

The boss...

Ye Zun has been fooling me all this time?

His abilities to entice people

are based on the breach in people's hearts.

The more negative thoughts you have, the more you'll fall into his trap.

People's hearts can be filthy.

The more worries they have, the harder it will be for them.

Thus, the anger grows into resentment,

which leads them to do bad.

Not doing evil things

shall be the good and virtuous way of the world.

Save the world, Guardians. No one else will do.

It's too late now.

I have already made a huge mistake.

Merit Brush! Come back!

Here is the key.

But the door that is already opened,

it cannot be locked anymore.

Everything has settled down now.

We have the Merit Brush.

I heard that on the rooftop, you and the ex-Chief have been…

How is the old man?

He is in the hospital now.

All vital signs are normal

and the heart rate is good, too.

Wow, he was able to remain calm when facing life and death,

such an experienced man.

Dumbass, what going on with you?

Brother Xiangyang was such a nice person.

He could have not gone down this road.

If only one of those events didn't happen that way,

they could have lived a happy life.

Who really caused their death?

It's enough, kiddo.

This is life. Disasters and suffering can come at any time.

Anyone or everyone could be the victim.

But the key point is,

if you can make it through the pain and suffering,

and continue taking the righteous and good path.

She's right.

To pull people walking the wrong path back to the right path

is why our Special Investigations exists.

What's on your mind?

I'm thinking about the last words of Wang Xiangyang.

Why did he call the Merit Brush the key?

What is the door he was referring to?

It is very strange indeed.

All his actions seemed to lead to revenge,

but he was also buying time.

It means that the more preparation time they have,

it would be more advantageous for them.

When Ya Qing left,

she didn't seem to want the Merit Brush,

as if its mission was already accomplished.

Ya Qing works for Ye Zun,

but this time he was too quiet.

Maybe the Merit Brush's effect is related to Ye Zun?

Oh no!

Soon, I'll be free!

Ten thousand years...

My era is coming!

You only understood it now?

The role of the Merit Brush is to build heaps of energy reactors

to destroy a prison created by the Pillar in the Underworld.

Wang Xiangyang's body was the last stack of the energy reactor.

We have succeeded! The Pillar is broken now.

The Merit Brush is all yours now.

We can't keep the door closed now.

Zhao Yunlan, I'm returning to the Underworld now.

- I'll go with you. - No.

The situation of Special Investigations is very delicate now.

If you act arbitrarily, you would be the target of public opinion.

Zhao Yunlan, promise me that

no matter what happens, you guys must guard this place.

Don't make any move to counter the shifting events.

Brother Black,

we can maintain peace only if we are all alive.

Monster!

You managed to survive, and yet you've come back to look for death?

For the sake of Underworld's peace,

we will hold on until Lord Black Robe returns!

Black Robe?

Such a familiar name. I can't wait to see him.

Dad! Dad!

Dad!

Don't worry, your turn will come.

Minister, you are awake now.

What happened?

Why am I in the office? What happened?

Minister, you and Director General Zhao were kidnapped

by Wang Xiangyang and his gang.

The people from Special Investigations saved you.

I fear that the strange changes out there

are related to Wang Xiangyang as well.

I'm so in trouble now.

You, go there!

You guys, go that way! Hurry!

Old Snake!

What is going on now?

The Demi-humans are in chaos!

Black Robe Envoy came to me a few days ago.

He said that we cannot stay neutral this time.

Now, I understand what he meant.

What does it mean?

What else? Our Elder Ya Qing, who was so bent on saving Ye Zun

has succeeded.

Now, we can only rely on Black Robe Envoy.

After all, he brought peace to all of us ten thousand years ago.

Are you sure about your decision?

The law does not make exceptions for emotions.

You've stayed good in Dragon City for all those years,

I can free you from some sanctions.

No, I've done bad things.

Very bad things.

Sha Ya, I never told you the truth.

Gu Ban was actually killed by an Undergrounder.

He died saving me.

Are you here? Can you send me back, please?

What is going on? Did that person lie to us?

You! Stop there! Stop running!

Don't come over!

Drop the knife!

You drop the gun! Kick it over here!

Now!

Okay! Okay!

Don't hurt innocent people!

Throw it over here! Quickly!

Turn around. Go behind that tree! Faster!

Stay calm!

Don't move!

Gu Ban!

Call the ambulance!

Gu Ban...

Don't... let... Sha Ya... live resentfully…

Gu Ban!

I've been wrong all this time.

You're the one whom he loved.

Yuzhu, look at these earrings.

They would go well on Sha Ya, right?

She would be pretty wearing them.

You only bought gifts for her?

Why are you still like a child?

I cannot always find two of the exact same thing.

But it has always been like this.

No matter what you bought, it's always been one for each of us.

Yes, but we are grown-ups now.

There will always be changes.

Don't worry!

There will be someone gifting you unique gifts in the future.

You like Sha Ya?

You've noticed?

But don't tell her yet.

I want to find the right chance to tell her face-to-face.

What are you guys talking about?

But I clearly heard him saying that you are gentle, thoughtful of others,

and better than me in every aspect.

You heard it that day after all.

But it's only half of the story.

Yuzhu, I'm sorry.

Even though Sha Ya is a straightforward person

and does not have the perfect personality,

who told me to like her so much?

Sha Ya! Sha Ya!

I understand your feelings for her.

Go after her!

It is too dangerous for you to stay here alone.

Don't worry. I'll head back to the Underworld first.

So, that was the true story.

Gu Ban was such a coward.

Why didn't he tell me earlier?
