Cara Delevingne...

she is unquestionably a public
icon.

Cara has modeled for Burberry,

Jason Wu, Chanel, Fendi,

Dolce & Gabbana, and Mulberry,

and graced the pages of Vogue,
Glamour, Elle

and Vanity Fair .

Back off.

Everyone's seen her
face

splashed on billboards and
magazines across the globe,

modeling everything from
raincoats to sunglasses,

dungarees to high heels.

She's the "It Girl" who has it
all.

She's now poised to become a
superstar.

Cara Jocelyn Delevingne was born

in the blue-blooded, fashionable
Belgravia district

of London, on 12th of August,
1992.

So she grew up in, um, London's
Belgravia,

which is, you know, very
high-end,

high society place,

and her father was a property
developer, Charles,

and her mother, um, Pandora,

was what they call, I think, a
society sweetheart,

what we would call an "It Girl"
now, you know.

So she was very much, um, out
and about, a socialite.

What better way to live your
life

than, uh, living in a 10 million
pound house.

I mean, it's all right there,

it's in a lovely part of London

and it seems as though things
were planned out for her

before she was even born.

She had the house.

She had the kind of prestigious
lifestyle

already set up for her

and, I mean, it was just hers to
take, basically.

So, it kind of...

Yeah, I would have thought
that'd be a great tool

to kind of motivate you, if
you're just lounging around

in a 10 million pound
house in Chelsea.

Cara was born the youngest
of three girls,

and her older sisters, Chloe and
Poppy,

I think the moment she was born
adored her.

Poppy, especially, I know has
quoted,

done so many interviews saying

that she just dressed her up as,
it was her...

she was her doll, basically.

Poppy was the one that wanted to
mother her all the time,

and Poppy was seven when she was
born,

so it was a good age gap

for her to dress her up,

uh, walk her around as like a
baby and a doll.

And, uh, I think that's how, you
know, the relationship was

between the three girls.

It was a bit mothering from the
two older sisters for Cara.

Margo Greenwood,
Cara's grandmother,

foreshadowed a line of beautiful
descendants.

Margo is the spitting image of
her beautiful granddaughter,

with the same lean figure,
beautiful doll-like lips,

and, of course, those bushy
eyebrows.

She had a wonderful
relationship

with her grandmother, Margo,

who she tweets a lot about.

And, um, Margo, when you look
back

at pictures of Margo at Cara's
age,

there is a striking resemblance
between her and Cara.

And I think they share a very
strong connection.

Margo, um, was stunning when she
was younger,

and has the same eyebrows

that Cara, you know, is famous
for.

And, um, she grew up quite a lot
with her grandmother.

I think she spent a lot of time
at her grandmother's house

in the countryside.

She just used to love being
outside

at her grandmother's house,

playing outside, having magical
adventures.

She thought that was wonderful.

Cara and her grandmother

had a very close relationship.

I mean, even her grandmother
referred to her as "monster,"

which perfectly describes Cara's
crazy personality.

I mean, I can just see her
running around the garden,

going absolutely mental pulling
branches off trees,

the tomboy lifestyle, climbing
trees,

playing cricket, tearing up the
lawn.

I mean, I can see that being a
very nice relationship.

Her grandmother Margo, um,
who she's very close with,

nicknamed her "monster" when she
was younger.

And I think when she was, um...

spending a lot of time at her
grandmother's house

and playing outside in her

grandmother's beautiful gardens,

that her grandmother took a lot
of pride and joy in,

uh, and would, you know,

look after her gardens very
well.

And Cara would come round and
want to build dens

and went to build sort of, you
know, camps

where she could go out and play,
get muddy and dirty.

Um, and she was a full-on
grandchild, you know.

This wasn't a polite young girl
who would say "yes" and "no"

and "please" and "thank you"
when they were meant to.

This was a girl who was just

having fun and was probably
doing things

at 100 miles an hour every day.

And her grandmother, I think,
probably decided

that it was just crazy to have
this youngster

running around, and nicknamed
her "monster"

in a very affectionate way.

It wasn't ever anything that
was,

"Cara is so naughty, we can't do
anything with her."

Instagram fans would
eagerly await photos

of the two of them together,
Margo and her granddaughter,

whom she fondly calls "monster."

Sadly, Margo recently passed
away at the age of 102.

The Delevingne girls had
childhoods

that were far from that of
normal girls.

They were known as "The Dynasty
Sisters,"

and thrown into a jet-setting
social circle

that included Joan Collins,
Andrew Lloyd Webber,

and Sarah, Duchess of York.

Joan Collins, actual glamorous,
fabulous Joan Collins,

is her godmother.

So with somebody like that
looking over you

and, um, giving you guidance and
support,

how the heck wouldn't you end up

going into the fashion industry?

Yeah, absolutely.

They holidayed
together at exotic locales,

in large and boisterous groups.

They would share them with
friends,

with boyfriends, with...

It-it wasn't just a family
holiday,

I think they would go out and be
sociable

with everyone and their holidays
were,

you know, they were probably
two-, three-week-long affairs.

They weren't just, you know, an
odd few days somewhere.

They were big occasions.

The family would get together.

They would invite lots of
friends,

friends of the family would
come,

as I said, boyfriends.

They would go to South of
France.

They'd quite often holiday with,
um, Sarah Ferguson

and her, uh, daughters,

Eugenie and Beatrice, um, in
Spain, you know.

And so they had relationships
with, you know, so many people,

and I think they were all a very
friendly,

a very sort of welcoming family,

for anyone that knew them.

Charles and Pandora
were caring

and supportive of their
daughters' interests

in the performing arts.

But Pandora, who had worked as a
buyer

at Selfridges and at the society
magazine Tatler ,

also introduced her girls

to the world of high-end
fashion.

But it wasn't to say that she
was

prim and proper, that's
definitely not

how I would describe Cara at
all.

I think growing up, she almost
rebelled of it,

and wanted to be a bit more of a
tomboy.

So, she would

um, you know, go out...

she didn't like the dresses,

and the frilly tops and things

I think Poppy wanted her to
wear.

I think she always said that her
mum

and her sisters were very much
into fashion.

She wasn't bothered at all.

She wanted to play football.

She wanted to get dirty.

Cara was noticeably a
down-to-earth girl,

who was more comfortable in
shorts and sneakers

than debutante gowns.

She used to say when she was
growing up

she wanted to be Spiderman.

She wanted to be a superhero.

There was never anything, "I
want to grow up

and be a princess."

There was never, "I want to grow
up and...

I don't know, marry a rich man."

It was always what she wanted to
do.

It was fun, it was adventurous.

She was always, um, wanting to
grow up

to be something a little bit
kooky.

Young Cara,
surprisingly,

was not attracted to the
business of modeling,

and focused her passions on
acting and music.

Because Cara, from, I
think,

as soon as she could talk would
want to perform

in front of friends and family.

Um, and whether that was famous
friends,

they went to, um,

Andrew Lloyd Webber's New Year's
Eve Party once,

and she just jumped up on the
piano with him

and started singing.

She... There was no inhibitions
to her.

She was a confident young girl,
and I think

you can, I don't know,

there's a... an element of being
confident

and a bit arrogant,

but I don't think anyone saw any
arrogance in Cara.

She was just happy to perform
and to make people laugh,

and to see people watching her
is what she enjoyed.

So when she was at school, um,
doing theater, um, and,

you know, drama, it really
nurtured her,

and I think when she went to
school

and all these opportunities came
up, and she realized

the music lessons that she could
do,

the drama lessons that she could
do,

I think it really struck a chord
with her

of how she could sort of, um,

channel her love of performance.

Despite having

the life of a pampered princess,

Cara never felt the need to
primp and preen

like her classmates.

She was totally a tomboy.

She kept her hair short, and
never wore makeup.

Classmates and teachers remember
her

as rather silly, often sticking
her tongue out

or making faces when a camera
was pointed in her direction.

But perhaps this comedic
charisma

was what first attracted
photographers

to the girl with the natural
face

and bushy brows.

There was a kind of, mad society
whirlwind

that she was brought up in.

But again, I guess, she feels
like she's,

kind of, quite normal, despite
all of the madness,

which I'm sure has, kind of,
always

slightly attended her, her life.

I mean, she appeared in Italian
Vogue

when she was 10, I think.

Um, so she has always kind of
been surrounded by

these sort of opportunities that
I think

a lot of people don't have.

But again I think that,

somehow she's managed to stay
normal through that.

And again, that might be
something people like

about her, I suppose.

At only 10 years old,

Cara landed her first modeling
gig for Italian Vogue.

Her first paycheck, 700 pounds.

That is an incredible
amount of money

for a youngster,

and I recall her saying that
she,

with this money, what does she
want to do,

what on earth does a 10-year-old
do

with this amount of money.

And she spent her money on a
drum kit.

Now that's probably not
something

that every parent wants their
youngest daughter

to spend their money on,

but that's what she wanted to
do,

and she did it,

and good for her, you know.

Playing the drums at 10 years
old.

Cara loved music,
that was for sure.

But she also found drama as a
subject

to tender her love of theatrics
and performance.

I believe she first became
interested

in the school where she played
the role of Martha

in Who's Afraid of Virginia
Woolf?

It was a school play, and, um,

I remember her saying in an
interview on Lorraine

that it was always kind of her
passion

from a very young age to kind of
progress into acting.

And I think from that
point onwards,

she had this real, sort of,
buzz,

and this love of performing in
sort of serious plays.

It was always, um, kooky
characters she wanted to be.

Cara was an
iconoclast,

and it was her unique features

and willingness to be different

that got her spotted by Sarah
Doukas,

the founder of legendary agency
Storm Model Management.

Storm Model Management was, at
the time,

the best-known modeling agency
in the world.

Years earlier, Doukas had
approached another girl,

this time in a New York airport,

and launched her career as a
supermodel.

That woman was Kate Moss.

Sarah Doukas, who
discovered Kate as well,

spotted Cara at school,

because she was friends with
Sarah's daughter.

Um, and was signing, or had
signed Poppy.

And, um, so that's how she got
involved with Storm,

and I guess some of the stuff
she did at the beginning

was quite kind of low-level.

I think she modeled for ASOS for
a while.

My first kind of knowing
of Cara

was when she used to model for
ASOS.

So, um, she was actually one of
the most used models on ASOS

and, because she was so,

her face was so incredible.

I'd kind of just start really
looking for her

on the website rather than the
clothes,

and then I'd get kind of really
obsessed

with the outfit she was wearing.

And then I ended up seeing her
at a party,

and I put the two and two
together

that she was a Delevingne
because Poppy was there.

Although Doukas
showed

an early interest in Cara,

it was Poppy who she first
signed onto the agency.

As soon as, you know, she
clocked Poppy,

I think that was the beginning
of Poppy's modeling career.

And she did a lot of shoots for
Vogue.

She traveled the world.

Poppy, older,
blonder,

and more traditional looking,

would have been any betting
man's choice

as a future supermodel.

It was her sister first, Poppy,

that was, sort of, like this
model socialite,

and then all of a sudden,

people started taking notice of
her little sister.

And especially her eyebrows.

So her eyebrows sort of like,
made her

uh, really stand out.

It was like, really thick and
bushy, and

amazing and kind of wild, and

it just, people started falling
in love with her face.

Cara could see what was
happening.

She was, I think, very happy for
her sister.

But I think at that time,

it wasn't anything that Cara
wanted to do.

It wasn't a world that Cara
wanted to be in,

the fashion world, the
supermodel world.

She was almost more happy

um, with her music, with her
drums.

And I think she wanted to do
something different.

Despite putting an
early emphasis

on Poppy's career,

Sarah Doukas didn't forget the
impact

that Cara had made on her.

At age 17, Cara formally signed
on

with Storm Model Management,

following in her sister's
footsteps.

It gives her something to aspire
to.

It's like, can I be on the same
level

as my older sister.

I mean, can I achieve the same
things

that my older sister did in her
career.

And it's always nice to have an
older sibling

to kind of motivate you to
strive for bigger

and better things.

Poppy is, obviously, you know,
um, Cara's role model

in the sense that she started
modeling first.

Um, but, uh, I think after a
period of time

that kind of, Cara almost, kind
of, overtook her

older sister 'cause her sister
kind of has taken

a back seat when it comes to
modeling.

Whereas, um, you see, um, Cara
on the runways

of every major fashion capital,

New York, London, Paris, and
Milan.

Cara never believed
in altering her appearance,

and that wasn't going to change
simply for the runway.

She was vocal about the fact
that she would not lose weight

or tweeze her eyebrows into the
perfect arches

that were considered the ideal
for beautiful women.

Poppy is interesting
because I think

on the face of it, very
literally,

she's probably the more
conventionally attractive

one of the two of them.

Cara's got a lot more of a kind
of quirky look to her,

and is obviously beautiful in a
very different way but,

Poppy's taller.

Um, she

looks, I think, a bit more like
a kind of catwalk model

than Cara does.

And obviously that's how

a lot of these sort of things
start

is you do a normal catwalk
spots.

Cara doesn't do that anymore,
really,

but when she first started she
did a lot of that appearance,

those kind of appearances.

And I think that, um, Poppy is

I think honestly the reason that
Poppy isn't as popular

perhaps as Cara,

um, is because her personality
isn't as

out there and as different.

I mean Poppy has the famous
friends,

and she's beautiful, and she's
done

really great campaigns as well.

But I think that...

it kind of proves,

because they are two quite
similar people

from the same family,

it sort of proves that part of
Cara's appeal is

more than what she looks like.

Which again, I guess, is
probably,

really is why people like her,

because it isn't just about
being a pretty girl.

It's also about being someone
who's fun

and interesting and actually
beauty is more than

just skin deep,

and I think that's actually kind
of

what the contrast between those
two

sort of proves in a sense.

Rather than push Cara
away with disdain,

designers flocked to her.

They found her spunkiness and
honesty refreshing,

and Cara slowly began to accept

that she might in fact be
destined for the runways.

I first heard about Cara

when my good friend Karen
Clarkson

told me about a girl that she'd
just shot,

this brand new girl, the sister
of Poppy,

and how amazing that she looked
in that shoot,

and she helped me preparing one
of my shows in London

and, um, yeah, she brought her
over to the casting.

When I saw Cara the first time,

I was kind of overwhelmed

because she had such a positive
energy.

She walked into the room and
observed, and,

you know, introduced herself

and, uh, you know, she talked a
lot,

which I like because it kind of
freshened up

the scene a little bit

because, obviously, everybody is
nervous,

everybody is busy preparing a
show,

and then when she walked in and
was, like, all happy about,

you know, it was her first
casting for a show really,

so that made her even more
enthusiastic about it all,

and it really freshened up the
whole scene.

Cara always put her
enthusiasm

and willingness to perform into
her modeling routines.

It made her adored

by the patrons of the fashion
houses,

and she traveled to Paris,
Milan, and New York,

where she got the necessary
exposure

to propel her into the fashion
limelight.

Soon enough, Cara was onto
bigger and better things.

She was starring in a Burberry
campaign

with the Hollywood actor Eddie
Redmayne.

And this was a girl that no one
had heard of

three years ago.

While Eddie Redmayne

was no stranger to Burberry,

this was Cara's first
high-profile shoot.

Burberry's campaign successfully
launched Cara

onto billboards in Times Square
and beyond.

Suddenly, the girl with the
eyebrows

was an omnipresent figure in the
high fashion world.

Cara worked really well

as a kind of Burberry girl.

I could really see how that
would be the brand

that she would kind of launch
with

because it's such a huge,
British brand.

And I do think part of

the appeal of Cara is that she
is,

she is very British.

And I know that she kind of
travels internationally now,

and, and she's kind of got a
huge international profile,

but I do think, again, she feels
like, a Londoner.

I mean, at the paper, one of the
reasons we're so interested

in her is because she's such a
London girl.

And I do think that that's part
of her appeal,

and Storm has managed that quite
well.

I think they must have advised
her quite well.

But also, at the same time,

I think they've done it cleverly

without, kind of, ruining or
suppressing

her personality in any way.

And, this rise was, it was
similar to Kate Moss,

you know, it was, in terms of,

she wasn't just looking at high
street fashion.

This was a girl who'd be
standing

and posing for Burberry,

which is one of the biggest
fashion houses around.

I truly believe that it
was just,

several different factors.

The fact that she obviously was
seen with her sister Poppy.

Um, and the fact that she is
only 5'7",

and not super tall like the rest
of the models

um, gives her a unique edge.

I think that's, it's kind of
like the Kate Moss factor.

They were... They both became
really popular,

and they were both kind of not
so tall,

not the average height of what a
model should be,

what we think a model should be.

People always say
Cara's the next Kate Moss,

but it's never been seen as a
rivalry.

They kind of seem to enjoy
working together a lot.

They're very similar
personalities as well.

She's basically taken Cara under
her wing as a mentor.

And, I mean, who better to learn
from

about modeling than Kate Moss, I
mean,

I can't think of any other name

that I could possibly pull out
of the top of my head

that would match Kate Moss'
experience,

the amount of things that she's
done,

the amount of things she's
achieved.

And, I mean, Kate's got huge
contacts as well

from a broad range.

I mean, she's got film contacts,
she's got a music contact

as well as modeling, so...

Whatever Cara wants to branch
out to,

if Kate's gonna help her, she's
in the best position

for... for that to happen.

I think through the
modeling world,

Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss

um, are definitely friends.

Um, I would even think that
maybe, um...

Cara Delevingne looks up to Kate
Moss

in sort of like a big sister
route.

I know that at one point, Cara
had,

um, a psoriasis breakout,

and she was very open about
that,

and, um, I think she almost quit
modeling,

and just, you know, wasn't
feeling very good,

and I think Kate Moss was the
one

that really encouraged her to
keep modeling,

and took her to her
dermatologist,

and really helped her, sort of
find her way back

without, you know, feeling kind
of icky.

And so, um, I think they have a
really good relationship.

Kate knew from the word go,

that Cara was going to be a
superstar.

And... and so probably paid
quite a lot of interest

in Cara's, sort of, rise to fame
in the modeling world.

And to a certain extent, I would
say,

was very protective over Cara.

She, she always looked out for
her.

It kind of very much
felt like,

Kate was taking her under her
wing

'cause obviously Kate has had

a similar kind of experience to
her

where people want to know more
about her personal life

than her kind of career.

Burberry made Cara
famous,

and suddenly everyone wanted a
piece of her.

Her consistent presence on
billboards

and magazine advertisements

pushed her to unprecedented
heights of fame.

Luckily, Cara was a person used
to being in the spotlight.

She was born an entertainer,

and relished the media
attention.

As a style icon, I
think

that she's actually very
different

to a lot of the polished people
that you associate

with the fashion world.

I don't see her as, I mean,
she's associated with labels

in the sense that she models for
labels,

but I don't think of her as
someone who's

particularly sleek and put
together.

And that's to her credit.

I don't mean that she isn't a
style icon.

But I think there's something
kind of

refreshingly dressed down about
the way that she dresses.

I think that she always feels a
bit

like she's sort of just thrown
stuff together

in that really true sense of
throwing stuff together

as opposed to something that

a lot of people who work in
fashion would probably say.

I think that's a lot more
accessible, hence her appeal.

I mean, you see a lot of girls

who obviously are mimicking
Cara's look now, kind of,

big statement hoodies or
T-shirts

and kind of skinny jeans and big
trainers.

I think she's, she's made that
look her own.

And then you've seen it, kind
of, come onto the catwalk,

and you can never really tell
kind of which comes first,

I suppose, but I do think that

that's part of her appeal

is that it feels quite
accessible.

It feels quite, quite cool and
quite fun,

and, like, she really doesn't
care too much.

Which I think is a nice thing to
see in a style icon

because it makes you feel a lot
more

like she's like you as opposed
to like

all those people who can afford
to spend

hundreds of thousands of pounds
on expensive fur pieces.

So I think that's probably part
of

why she's become so popular.

I think definite appeal is that
she is

a hundred percent always being
herself,

and you can see some models
walking down the street

in their day-to-day business,

and you can still see the
catwalk model in them,

but when you see Cara
Delevingne, you can see

that's her, that's just a
21-year-old girl

who's having fun, you know,
going out on a night out or,

you know, hangin' with, whether
it's like

Taylor Swift, or Rihanna,

she's always being herself,

and I think that's 100% her
appeal.

Cara's style, for me, is
two polar opposites.

You've got the very, very
polished designer Cara,

which you see at, uh, many
awards ceremonies,

or currently when she's doing
her promos.

And then you see her actually
kind of running around

the streets wearing jogging
bottoms and trainers

and kind of nutty hats,

and she's quite boyish in that
aspect.

But I think she can do both
really well.

For me, if I see her dressed in,

like, the boyish kind of side a
bit too much,

then seeing the jump to polished
Cara

is always a little bit kind of,

like, it kind of shocks me but
in a really good way.

It's a little bit Kristen
Stewart, isn't it?

Yeah. - It's a lot
of that.

When it comes to, um, Cara
Delevingne's style,

I think the brand she probably

wears the most is Saint Laurent.

And she also has a very close
relationship with Burberry,

who are, you know, one of the
brands

that kind of catapulted her into
the, um, mainstream.

And, she'll occasionally will
wear Balmain.

She'll wear Topshop, which is
also a brand that

she's affiliated to.

And... She seems to like the
kind of person

who's very loyal, and sticks to
like a very,

you know, small niche of brands
who have,

um, you know, she's worked with
on several occasions.

Um, the brand fit has always
been one

that's been very kind of
natural.

Like, especially with Saint
Laurent.

And... The kind of...

Um, in recent seasons, they've
created,

a lot of kind of, like, rocker
kind of, rocker girls,

or kind of like boyish kind of
outfits,

which is very much in tune with
her style,

and, um, uh, it's something that
whenever she wears,

you know, you kind of say, yeah,
you know,

she made the right choice when
she selected that outfit.

It's like effortlessly chic, you
know,

like her tomboy look.

But I think it would be really
fun to work with her.

She seems open, and, um,

you know, would like, she's into
just,

you know, wearing different
things, different...

I see she wears graphic prints.

She wears the loose, she
wears...

she likes to roll around the
streets in tennis shoes.

She wears a beanie, I mean.

I think that's kind of cool,
like,

not very many people that are in
the public eye,

are gonna wear a beanie the way
she rolls a beanie,

like, it's kind of unique to
her.

So, I think that she seems like
a person that's open

to trying new things,

um, especially in fashion.

She's so outgoing, she's so
bubbly.

Um, she's just so carefree.

I mean, the models, um, that you
meet

on the big fashion shows for
example,

your London fashion shows, your
Paris fashion weeks,

they're very meticulous in the
kind of foods they eat,

the kind of routines they keep,

the kind of fitness that they do
and all that kind of stuff.

And there's Cara posting
pictures of her

eating Domino's pizzas on
Instagram.

And she's posting pictures of
her playing Call of Duty,

like, just a really, sort of
tomboy kind of lifestyle.

She's really down-to-earth.

She just blows me away with her
personality.

As a way to cope with
her success,

she began to document her rise
for the public

through the use of social media.

13.4 million followers on
Instagram,

that's an unbelievable amount,

and obviously she's got a lot of
fans,

and that's a lot of influence

that she can do to people her
age, younger girls,

people who look up to her and
aspire to her.

And I mean, she's a great role
model because like I just said

in terms of modeling,

in terms of the meticulous sort
of lifestyle,

she's not like anybody else in
the industry.

She's just so bubbly, she's got
an infectious personality.

And people can relate to her
'cause she's just a normal girl

from a normal background,

who's just happened to, to make
it famous.

I would imagine, if I saw her in
the street,

I wouldn't be afraid to go up to
her and be, like,

"Oh, my God, I love you, can I
have a picture with you?"

And I don't think she'd be
snobby or snooty

in any single way, shape, or
form.

I think she'd have a wacky
selfie with you,

and she'd probably pull

the most ugly face n the world,

and that's what I love about
her,

is even though, yeah,

in the Burberry campaign, for
instance,

she is so beautiful,

you literally just stare at her
face.

You go on her Instagram,

she has got the worst, worst
selfies I've ever seen, like,

she'll pull the ugliest, ugliest
faces.

And it's so funny.

There are videos of her just
falling over

on Instagram as well, like,

she's daft and completely wacky,

and I think that really comes
across.

Models are typically
told to pose,

but Cara scrunches and pinches
her face

so that she looks like a young
girl

gently poking fun at her elders.

Perhaps, Cara is seriously
mocking the paps

behind her facade,

but they eat up her expressions
and beg for more.

Yeah, it seems like
her social media is unfiltered.

It seems like it's actually her
doing it.

And just the fact that she's a
famous person

really in demand who, at least,
gives the impression

of doing their social media.

And like, I think she actually
probably does

do her own social media,

that does actually mean
something.

It's like, it's a small victory,

in just making the world a bit
more real.

I think from before Cara was
sort of tweeting

and Instagramming everything,

the modeling world maybe seemed
a bit sort of obscure

to normal folk, to us.

And I think Cara was tweeting
pictures of herself,

and putting on Instagram
pictures of herself

getting made up backstage

at, um, the Chanel, you know,
fashion house shoot,

and I think, then people
realized,

"Oh, OK, this is someone that's
having fun, but is meant to be

a very serious supermodel at the
same time,

in very serious, very expensive,
um, clothes."

And Cara was tweeting, you know,

how much fun she was having
eating ice cream

you know, backstage at one of
these houses.

So I think it made it a bit more
real

to a lot of people.

A lot of, um, models,
they use social media,

but they use it solely for
really pretty purposes.

So, there is Miranda Kerr doing
her incredible yoga pose

on the beach, and she's kind of
untouchable.

There's something untouchable
about people like that.

But with Cara, I feel like,
she's a mate.

I feel like, she does stupid
things that my friends do

on my Instagram and they
actually make me laugh.

And she'll kind of put funny
regrams up

from other people, and she'll
make silly memes,

and it's all very, very real,

very approachable, very
relatable I think with her.

As Instagram and
Twitter

became ways to document her
life,

people began to learn about
Cara,

to understand her personality.

Her habits, her loves, her
desires, and her fears.

In fact, Cara was one of the
first models

to take selfies on the runway.

Other models, like Jordan Dunn
and Kendall Jenner

have followed suit.

But somehow they haven't
captured

the same level of adulation that
Cara receives.

I do think it feels
very authentic, again.

Um, I think it also feels a lot,

a lot less like "look at my
fabulous life,

look at me humble-bragging about
my fabulous life."

I mean, you sometimes, you see
these models,

and they're, you know, maybe
they're complaining

about another 5:00 a.m. start on
their glamorous shoot in L.A.

And with Cara it will always be
something a bit more funny,

like, "Oh, here are the people
I'm hanging out with in L.A."

It's an early shoot, and we're
all really exhausted,

and like, we're eating
McDonald's.

So I think that her social media
presence again feels

quite friendly and almost like
she kind of debunks

some of the sort of madness

of the fashion industry in a
sense.

Because obviously, again, it's
an industry

that people are very interested
in,

but I think it does actually
feel very rarefied and remote

from the normal lives of a lot
of people.

Whereas the kind of funny,
quirky stuff

that Cara puts online is

the kind of stuff that you sort
of

mess around with your friends
doing,

and then you upload to Facebook,

and everyone kind of likes.

I think that it, again, it does
feel quite authentic,

and like you can really feel a
personality coming from it.

I think with a lot of models you
know who they are,

but their social media presences
are quite similar.

They'll all be showing the same
photos of them

at the same event,

whereas Cara does a lot less of
that, sort of,

I'm dressed up in a really nice
frock and I'm at a premiere.

She does a lot more, kind of,
fun,

I'm kicking it back with Kendall
Jenner

doing something funny.

You know, We're saying these
kind of funny hashtags,

like these in-jokes,

but somehow that isn't exclusive

because it feels like you're
being let in on the joke

rather than being like,

"Oh, Cara's got loads of cool
friends,

and she must be like, so cool
and scary."

I think that it feels, again,
like someone you, kind of,

almost know in a much truer
sense than you do

with a lot of people's social
media presence.

Now we feel like we know them,

know models more than ever.

We feel like we're almost part
of their girl gang

'cause they kind of on a daily
basis

you can see on Twitter and
Instagram

that they're givin' us glimpses
of their daily lives,

whether it's the glamorous side

or the not-so-glamorous side.

And they're also very open and
honest about, you know,

how hard they have to work,

and, um, what kind of perks they
get with the job as well,

which is really interesting.

In her Instagrams, you
know,

the way she puts out all these
photos that are,

some are very personal, with her
family,

with her grandmother Margo.

And her, you know...

I think then she... she plays up
to the cameras

when she's doing her, she should
possibly be

paying more attention to a
modeling assignment

and is Instagramming photos of
herself

sticking her tongue out to the
cameras.

And I think, you know, people
feel she's very

um, in touch with what's going
on, you know.

They love, she has one of the
biggest followings

I think on Twitter and Instagram
and social media.

She's aware of her persona, and
she's aware of her brand.

And of course, like, I may be
totally taken in

by the image she puts out, and
that's,

but that's the nature of her
social media world.

That you try, and, you try and
see through

people's social media presences.

You try and see through their
brand.

But with her, it seems like
that's a genuine thing.

It really seems like she's just
putting out

her most natural thoughts,

and so I think that actually is
her.

She's really, like,
beautiful and like,

alien-looking, kind of very
different.

Um, so a mixture of how she
looks,

her personality, her
I-don't-care personality,

she does whatever she wants,
hangs with whoever she wants,

does whatever she wants,

and, um, also, has like, you
know,

a little bit to do with the fact
that she's,

I think her English accent,
like,

I really, truly believe that her
English accent...

There's just something like her
little whole

je ne sais quoi, like,
everything together

makes her super unique.

And then you throw that on
social media.

And social media just, is gonna
catapult her

on to a whole another level.

She's interesting.

I think a lot of her
Instagrams

are with other people as well.

And so, for instance, she is
best friends

with Taylor Swift now, which
pretty much everyone is.

But when it comes to a musician
or an actor,

they do have that personality

where they're talking all the
time, and you see them.

I mean, God, how many years was
it

before Kate Moss spoke actually
on TV?

You don't hear models speak.

You don't hear their actual
voices, whereas with Cara,

I just, I feel like I know what
she sounds like.

I know where she's going, where
she's eating,

what she's doing, it's not a
myth.

And when she's hangin' out with
people like Taylor Swift

and she's in the "Bad Blood"
video for instance.

That, everything about that,
it's just, it's so real,

and so, she's just having a
great time I think,

and it makes it feel like,

that's exactly what I would do
if I was in that position.

I would be taking pictures of
everyone.

If I went in to Taylor Swift's
house

I'd be taking a picture.

If I was in the kitchen with her
baking cookies,

I'd be doing a video.

You can absolutely see why she's
good friends

with Taylor Swift because Taylor
Swift also

sits on that point between

exclusive celebrity and very
authentic

everyday life.

Like, you don't see her, you see
her surrounded by

female friends, like, some of
whom are creative

and some of whom where you don't
know who they are.

Um, you don't really see her
surrounded by bodyguards,

and people stopping, people
getting to her.

So she sort of sits on that
point between

mainstream and indie.

And that's her brand,

and that's a very kind of
natural brand.

And, you know, I think it's
really interesting that she's

obviously done the music video
with Taylor Swift

and that was great, but she also
was in

a music video for Die Antwoord.

Um and they're like, you know,
obscure,

like weird, controversial South
African band

and I think she's friends with
them as well.

And that's really interesting

that she's also doing that kind
of thing.

Like, she's in a position where
she could do

anything and it's really
interesting seeing her choices.

Yeah and I think that's a great
thing to kind of

have that access to, um, people
like Cara Delevingne

because what it does is

shows that she is real person.

She's a cool chick.

Um, you know, she is having fun
as well.

She's having a lot of fun.

And a girl in her position
should be having a lot of fun.

She should be going out with her
friends.

And, um, I think that's

the great thing about social
media

'cause it makes her seem so
approachable,

and we all feel like we know
her.

We know a little bit about her,

and, you know, there's even,
like, Instagram accounts

just for her eyebrows, you know,

because people, you know there
was a time when eyebrows,

bushy eyebrows, were considered
not the, you know, the thing to
do,

but now bushy eyebrows are

fashionable as a result of Cara
Delevingne.

With Cara, her super fans
very quickly formed

and they became the
Delevingners.

And they were her top, you know,

number one super fans basically

that would just sort of lap up

anything and everything they
could on Cara.

They would, um, sort of dedicate
their lives to

mimicking Cara in a very sort of
positive way.

You know, never in a sort of
negative stance.

And so they would dress like
her.

They would act like her.

They would try and mimic her in
every way they could.

Cara has so many
super fans

that the fans themselves have
been launching their own

Twitter and Instagram feeds.

The diehard fans call themselves
the Delevingners,

and they launch feeds with
titles like

"Delevingne Made Me Do It,"
"Cara's Moon,"

"Delevingne You Da One," and
"Queen Cara Delevingne."

When people leave
comments on my Instagram,

sometimes like, "Oh my God! Is
that you or Cara?"

Um, and this is I assume when
people say I look like her.

Not a lot of people knows who is
Cara in my country.

Only people who knows Cara

sometimes get shocked by my
eyebrows,

and my eyes,

but when I was in New York

I felt like a lot of people were
staring at me.

A girl asking me if I was
related to Cara

and that was amazing

because I am not related to
Cara.

I mean, we are sisters, but,
like, not from blood.

We are like church sisters.

So it was kinda cool, and...

It's great to look, to look like
Cara,

because I love her and she's my
idol.

It's not just that
Cara's fans

have launched social media
titles about themselves,

Cara's fans have made sure that
her tattoos,

her eyebrows, her onesies,

have their own space on the web.

Fans obsess over her style and
her looks.

When Cara starts a trend,

it becomes an Internet
sensation.

I know that the fashion
look pre-Cara was

very sort of pencil thin brows

that were sort of, you know,
highly arched.

Cara came along, blew that
totally out of the water,

everyone wanted Cara eyebrows.

Everyone wanted to look like
Cara.

That was the look that people
were going with.

And, um, as I said, the makeup
artists

were being asked to paint these
eyebrows on.

Um, to give them the wow brow of
Cara Delevingne,

and that was her influence at
the time in the fashion world,

and in the social media world,
and with her fans.

People wanted to look like her,

and that was a very easy way of
doing it.

I believe that there is
definitely a trend, um,

that sort of...

came again with big eyebrows
because of Cara.

1980s Brooke Shields was the
eyebrow queen, you know,

and so it's sort of like, and
then, the '90s came,

and then I don't know what
happened,

but people started plucking it
all, so now back to these.

Now, it's sort of Cara
Delevingne

became the Brook Shields of this
generation

and everyone wants to have those
brows.

They're really kind of bushy,
um, mainly unplucked,

kind of unkempt eyebrows.

And... that I think almost have
a bit of a kind of

androgynous look about them
because they,

I suppose that, you often think
about women kind of

plucking their eyebrows, getting
their eyebrows waxed,

kind of making them into an arch
or something.

Whereas I think that this is a
very, uh,

androgynous or potentially
masculine look.

I definitely think that she's
had an impact

on the way that people do their
eyebrows now.

I mean I don't have any kind of,
data from any

beauticians or anything,

but I think just in the sense
that eyebrows weren't really

anything that I think anyone
thought about that much.

And I mean, you know, you dealt
with them,

but that was what you did.

Whereas now, I've seen beauty
pieces where they're actually,

you know, they're a trend,
they're a kind of

central holding image on the
page.

It's like, this is how to get
your brows like that.

Which I don't think anyone ever
did

when it was just kind of, taming
them a little bit.

And I would say that's down to
Cara.

I think that people do want to
imitate that look.

And again, it's a sort of
easiest way in

to her look, in a way.

You're not gonna look exactly
like her,

but that's something you can do.

I mean, she's not got
particularly distinctive hair.

She's not got like,

very distinctive lips, like
someone like

Rosie Huntington-Whitely, for
example.

Like, you know, she's got a huge
pout, if you wanted to look like
her

that would be the first thing
you'd do,

but with Cara I think it's
definitely eyebrows.

And I definitely think I've
seen, that I've noticed that

in girls my age, younger, a bit
older

is that it's a kind of look that
people have adopted.

This is where her super fans
loved it.

You know, they could paint on
their eyebrows

like never before just to mimic
Cara.

It was a really easy way to show

that they were Cara's super fans

because they had all these

just thick, strong eyebrows like
Cara.

She's not got traditional model
looks.

You know, the eyebrows that she
first started off with.

I bet, probably a million
artists

tried to pluck those off of her

on shoots before they became
something--

And the amount of trends that
we've done

since she really, really hit the
scene

on big eyebrows is insane.

I think I've done about 75 pages
on it in the magazine

because since she came on the
scene

that's when the big eyebrow
trend came back.

The kind of, the Shavata
eyebrows

that people were doing before

where they had the kind of, the
template

that you put over and the woman
could wax and tweeze them

and gets these tiny kind of like
perfect eyebrows.

That's gone now.

Everyone wants big, massive
eyebrows.

They want their eyes framing the
same as Cara's

and that's where it's come from.

It's natural and groomed, but I
mean for people,

I mean, I'm one of the people,

once you stop plucking your
eyebrows,

it's really hard to grow them
back.

So when someone like that comes
on the scene

you're like, "dammit!"

I can't just get big eyebrows
back.

It's really annoying because you
look at someone like that

and they just look incredible,

and it becomes a big statement.

It's a huge statement.

And it's so, I don't even think

I mean Kate Moss did the whole
kind of slim, chic,

all that kind of thing, but
that's a model.

I don't think anyone's had a
specific

um, like part of their face or
kind of

the way their hair's been.

Um, and really, really
influenced fashion and beauty

the way Cara has with her
eyebrows.

It's so influential. -Bizarre.

Yeah. -But true.

And the makeup houses, and
the makeup artists

that would, um, be involved in
just working

at beauty salons and spas,

would see a huge rise in people
coming in

and asking for their eyebrows to
be like Cara Delevingne's.

Everything from her
eyebrows

down to her cheeky faces

made her stand out from a sea of
mechanical

and humorless 5'11" models.

People found her someone they
could identify with,

doing everyday things very
happily.

But it wasn't just Cara's quirky
personality.

Sarah Doukas had a knack for
finding models

with certain looks,

looks that set 'em apart from
the rest

and probably made them seem very
un-model-like.

But those quirky looks

ultimately made such women
famous,

iconic, it made them "It Girls."

For me, Cara as being a model is
actually

the perfect reflection of how
modern fashion works.

You have a celebrity that is
representing

a collection of a designer as a
model,

and people refer to that
celebrity.

People refer to the model
because they know who she is,

they know what she does.

And therefore, you actually
brand a label

with an existing person

and therefore it explains the
collection

throughout the personality.

And, um, yeah that's what's
different these days,

and Cara for me is the perfect
example

how it works these days.

I think everyone knows Cara's
face.

It's a face that even if you
didn't know

the name of the person that's
attached to that face,

you've seen it everywhere,

and you've seen her more than
you probably realize.

And everyone always talks about
her eyebrows,

and how that makes her really
distinctive,

but it's also the way that she
carries herself.

It's not just that she's got an
interesting

and attractive face to look at.

It's also that she, she comes
with confidence,

she comes with a natural kind of
style.

Um, people seem to like her
'cause they feel

like she's their friend.

And so, it's kind of like you're
not really looking at

a model, it's like you're just
looking at someone

who's your friend in the pub.

And that's quite an amazing
thing to achieve,

considering she comes from quite
a wealthy background.

Um, she is a, like, well-paid
model, so, you know,

she in theory is someone on a
totally different plane

but actually seems really
different.

Having reached

the zenith of the modeling
world,

Cara could have planted herself
on feathered cushions

and lived a lifestyle of luxury.

But Cara was never one to shy
away from a challenge.

She turned her gaze elsewhere.

Music and acting, her childhood
passions.

So, in the early days, um, like
when

Cindy Crawford and Naomi
Campbell tried to be actresses

it was just kind of like, ugh,

they're trying to do everything
at once.

But now, models are kind of
expected to be like,

you know, jack of all trades and
do everything.

And, um, the beauty of this
current set of models

is that they are actually doing
it

and doing it successfully.

A video came up a couple of
years ago

where she was playing, um, the
guitar or some drums

and she was singing on this, um,
Instagram video that I saw.

And her voice is incredible.

And I literally remember
watching and going, "Oh, great."

There's nothing she can't do,

because she can sing as well, brilliant.

And her voice is so, so good.

Um, and she did end up sending a
mix tape

to Pharrell Williams, and then,
in 2015, um...

one of the early fashion shows
performed with him on stage

um, at the catwalk show.

Which is just, an incredible
thing

for this model to do who,

you know, was into modeling

and to have the opportunity to
do.

She's always said that
she kind of wanted to be

a musician, modeling sort of,
you know, seduced her,

which is completely fair.

And it's something that she sort
of fell into doing.

And sometimes it can feel a bit
annoying

when people say things like
that,

but I actually think again, with
her

it doesn't really feel annoying
because

you can see that she's genuinely
passionate

about things like music and
acting,

but you can also see she's
clearly model material.

She's a beautiful girl,

and if someone gave you the
chance to be a model

for three four years, why would
you not do that.

But I mean, I know she's
recorded with Pharrell, as well.

um, I mean, I don't know what's
gonna come of that

but they seem to have quite a
well-documented friendship.

There was an interview with him
in British Vogue last year,

and perhaps the year before,

and they've done a Chanel
campaign together,

and I know that they kind of

dig each other up on social
media, which is nice.

So I suppose if she's working
with people like that

she must be quite serious about
her music career

and they must be quite serious
about it as well.

And I feel like people like
Pharrell wouldn't

put their own name and their own
brand to someone

who they didn't think had some
spark

of kind of musical talent, or
musical potential I suppose.

I've seen a lot of videos

circling around YouTube,

like I remember she did a Vogue
interview

and she's just talkin' about the
drums.

This woman's asking her about
modeling

and she's just talking about
like,

all the things that she loves to
play drums,

guitar, piano, keyboard, uh, triangle.

I think everyone can play that
one though.

But uh, yeah, I mean, I looked
on YouTube

and I saw her doing this really
cool drum solo

that if Whiplash ever did a
sequel

she'd be the probably one of the
first names up there

alongside Miles Teller for the
sequel.

So, she was absolutely
fantastic,

but it just shows that kind of
passion and determination

that she not only puts into
modeling and acting,

but, you know, in music things
as well,

I mean, even though that's her
hobby.

Her friendships with
Harry Styles,

Rihanna, Pharrell Williams, Rita
Ora, and other musicians

gave her access to the musical
world.

Cara was no stranger to the
stage.

In school, she constantly took
part in plays and tableaus,

and Cara had an early experience
with auditions.

In 2009, when Tim Burton was
making Alice in Wonderland,

a role that she had first played
when she was 10.

She was desperate to play Alice.

And this was a girl who's had
no, you know,

previous drama school
experience,

just what she wanted to do.

And she went all out and she
sent out a, um, a tape,

an audition tape, that I think
was so out there,

and so crazy, and I think she
said at the time,

her portrayal of Alice was so,
probably wacky,

that it did catch the attention
of the casting agents,

and she got down to, um, the
final sort of casting call,

and was invited to Tim Burton's
house,

um, to meet Tim and the other
casting agents

and the producers.

And I think she lost out, well,
she did lose out

in the end to, um, another
actress,

and I think she said at the
time,

it was just a crazy experience

but it really sort of

um, solidified her love of
acting and performing.

It kind of spurred her on
to, you know, chase bigger
things

in the future, and I mean,

if you're sittin' in a house
with Tim Burton,

for near enough one of your
first movie roles,

it's gonna inspire you to go on

and do bigger and better things.

Well, I think her moving in to
being an actress

is really interesting.

Lots of models have done it,

but they always play quite, kind
of, unchallenging roles.

They pick the most obvious
things where

they are just there to be a
clothes horse

for a moving image.

But with her, she appears to be
picking roles

that are difficult for her.

That are, almost kind of
unattractive

and quite unflattering.

And I think it's really
interesting

that Michael Winterbottom chose
her

to be in Face of an Angel.

Because that's, it's a
controversial film.

Um, her character is quite
complex in it.

She's really good in it.

Like, she can actually act
really well.

It's, it's not the most perfect
film in the world,

but she's one of the best things
in it,

and I think it's really
interesting

that she's not only chosen to
make that leap,

but she's choosing things that
are gonna make

a real career for her.

So this seems like this is a
real career move for her,

and not just a kind of temporary
blip.

So, Cara's known for being a
model

but now she's dabbling into
acting.

And I think she's

on her way, like, I've been
hearing pretty good reviews

about her skills, you know.

She's made a couple of cameo
appearances,

um, in a couple of films, but
now she's releasing this

huge film, um, it's supposed to
probably be another hit.

It's called Paper Towns , it's
another John Green book.

And she plays the lead, and I do
believe

that she's gonna get a lot of
people to watch it.

I think she's gonna have a very
specific audience.

And I believe she's gonna do a
good job.

I mean she played, um, a very
minor part in Anna Karenina ,

but in terms of her actual kind
of serious acting career

the first one was The Face of an
Angel ,

which is the Amanda Knox film.
Um...

I genuinely thought she was
really, really good,

and I think that a lot of people

were probably nervous on her
behalf

because this is this thing that
this like,

one of the most famous girls in
the world

has really been talking very
publicly

about how she wants to do it,
and that is, you know,

that's setting yourself up for a
fall whoever you are.

There are lots of models

who say they want to be
actresses,

and, you know, they're not very
good at it

and it's quite clear that
they're not very good at it.

I think she knew what she wanted
to do.

She always wanted to take on
roles

that weren't necessarily, um,
conventional or easy.

She enjoyed doing slightly
oddball, um, films.

Um, she, I mean...

I always kind of compare her to
Claudette Colbert,

like, the, the old Hollywood
golden age actress.

She kind of has this screwball
comedy kind of style,

but she mixes it with serious
roles as well

and that's what Cara can do
really, really well,

she kind of can deviate between
the two very easily,

I mean, in Anna Karenina she was
very serious.

And then in Paper Towns she was
very, you know,

offbeat comedy, very much her
personality

shining through in that role.

Again, I think it's that
relatability.

I think coming across on screen

in the kind of role she's been
playing. Um...

As fans anyway, they're all
drawn to her.

I think it'll be the same kind
of thing in the cinema.

I think people will be able to
relate

to whatever character she's
playing.

She's just so much fun.

She doesn't take herself too
seriously,

and I think that is an important
thing off set as well,

when you're doing the promo
tour.

You know you're gonna get a good
interview

out of Cara, you know you're
gonna

be able to like, have her on the
red carpet

for four hours doing a Tom
Cruise,

having selfies with people.

There's that side of it then
also I do think

on screen it will be, she'll be
very relatable.

She's not gonna be afraid to
like

do an ugly role, for instance.

I can't imagine that.

Well, I think casting
agents are choosing her

because she is attractive.

She is a known face,

and her name on the poster is
gonna bring people in.

But it's not just that.

That's a really basic thing,
like,

you could say that

about thousands of young men and
women.

With her I think it's because
she can act.

She does wanna challenge
herself.

She's got a realism to her

that makes her really, really
interesting.

And that is important for
casting agents.

Like, she's real, and casting
agents want someone

that seems real even though
she's gonna be acting.

So, I can totally see why
they're going for her.

I just think because
she's down to earth.

She's not fake, she's not
putting on an act to anybody.

She's not putting on an act to
the cameras.

She's kind of open and out there

with kind of everything that
she's doing.

I mean, she'll speak openly and
honestly.

She won't hide things from the
press or anything like that,

so when she's interviewed she
comes across

very honest and very outgoing.

And casting agents, you know,

it appeals to them because she
is that honest

and she can portray kind of like

the role that she needs to do,

so if she needs to be serious

she can just like, clean the
slate

and become serious in an
instant, or

in the next minute she's doing
maybe a comedy role,

for example, and straight away
her personality

can shine through and that's her
normal self.

I think she could be a
character actress. Um...

I suppose one of the things I
worried about when I first

thought about her as an actress
was

oh God, you know too much about
her to be able to

believe her in a film, in a way,
like

you'd watch her and just be,
like, "That's Cara Delevingne."

You wouldn't be able to believe
it was X-Y-Z in a film.

But actually when I watched her
in The Face of an Angel ,

and I mean, yeah, she was
playing a kind of

student on their year abroad in
Italy, so.

It's not a world away from the
kind of person

that you imagine she at least
knows

even if she isn't a student on a
year abroad, but

but I did suddenly think, "No,
I'm not watching her

as Cara Delevingne, I'm watching
her

as the character in this film,"
and I think that

if she's proved that she can do
that once,

I don't see why she couldn't do
it again.

And I think from when she
first started

and would almost try and do
everything she could,

I think now she can almost sit
back and think,

"OK, well I'd like to try this
one."

She's being offered a lot more
roles

that she can pick and choose.

Um, and I would say watch this
space

in terms of her movie career,

um, because I think it's
probably just the beginning.

It's gonna be a challenge for
Cara

because she has got an amazing,
bubbly personality.

She can switch to serious.

But I think with real life stuff

she's gonna have to really
focus, knuckle down,

and really get into that
mindset.

And, uh, yeah, it's gonna be
difficult,

but I've got every faith

that she's gonna do a really
good job.

She seems very, very empathetic
to people.

I think that again one of the
reasons that people sort of

really engage with her is that
they feel like

she does care about their
problems

or their issues or the things
they tweet her about,

or you know the comments they
leave on Instagram.

They feel like she is a real
person they can engage with.

So while she might not have had
to, I don't know,

go out and do a job, as opposed,
a job in the sense

that we kind of mean a job, as
opposed to being a model.

I still think that she has the
kind of emotional range

to be able to get involved in
those sort of characters.

She starred with, she starred
with some big names

like Kate Beckinsale and Keira
Knightley, but I think

for her to star in her own sort
of film would be

the icing on the cake,

and I think it will only take
one sort of role like that

that will really sort of
catapult her, um,

into the Hollywood industry.

Her small roles have
been well-reviewed,

and she now has a sizable
launching pad

to catapult herself into movie
stardom.

The world is her
oyster so to speak.

You know, she's already, you
know,

tried her hand at so many
things.

From modeling, she's been able
to act,

she's been able to, you know,
kind of, start a music career.

She's been an ambassador. Um...

I mean, already to have so much
under your belt at 21

is amazing, but I think that
will only,

that will only stand her in good
stead

for the future, 'cause there
will be

more films, there will be more,
you know, chances to work

and be an ambassador for
different brands.

And, so, you know...

It's kind of hard to see where
exactly

'cause she's already done so
much.

But, you know, um, maybe, you
know, have her own clothing
line.

That's a possibility. A perfume,

that's another route that a lot
of celebrities

seem to go down.

Um, so, who knows.

I'm sure it will be very
interesting whatever she does.

You can only model for so
long.

I mean, I think it's gonna,

she's still youthful and can
have a long career,

but I think that that's,

the fact that she's making the
move now at such a young age

is going to catapult her

into becoming, if she has the
skill set,

and if she can actually pull off
these roles

that she's getting,

um, absolutely, she could
definitely

make it in Hollywood and create
a longer career for herself

versus just modeling.

'Cause that's gonna come to an
end at some point.

I can't see her just doing
Hollywood blockbusters.

It just doesn't seem like her
kind of thing.

I think she's really aware of
her image, of being

a bit edgy and sitting somewhere

between indie and mainstream.

And I think she'll do,
increasingly do

the more kind of independent
thing.

She has a personality,
you know,

she's not just gonna play,

just like she doesn't play the
pretty girl in modeling,

although she is a pretty girl
who models.

I think that she wouldn't just
be limited

to playing the pretty girl in
films.

I don't think she's the kind of
classic

just play the love interest in a
lot of films,

which I suppose some very
attractive

Hollywood actresses can fall
into.

I think that Cara's probably got

a bit more to her, and I also
think she's very clever,

and I think that because she's
clever

and she is interested in lots of
very different things,

I don't think she would be
satisfied

just with kind of playing the
pretty girl roles.

I see Cara just getting bigger
and bigger and bigger.

I really think that this new
kind of career path

into films is gonna really make
her,

it's gonna really change her
life.

And she's gonna just become
somebody that's,

I mean, she's already part of
our everyday life anyway.

I think she's gonna be someone
that

we'll see around when she's in
her 40s doing movies.

I think Cara has kind
of, will get to that stage

where she's just like an icon.

She's a famous person, so,
obviously you have people like

Beyoncé, who made her path in
music,

and Gwyneth Paltrow who made a
path in acting.

But when you get this big,
you're everything.

You're a model, you're a, you
know, you're a performer,

you do everything.

And I think she could reach the
icon status.

Quite an old-fashioned thing,

like kinda harking back back to
the '50s almost,

where you're just across the
board.

And you're just famous, you're
just a icon.

I see in Cara's future bigger
and better films.

Uh, I mean Suicide Squad still
is huge, it's Hollywood.

But I could see her doing it
more frequently.

I can see her starring alongside
bigger names

in the future to come.

I think actually modeling will
take a kind of

second place, I really do, I
really think that

now that her acting's taken off,

and with her saying all along
that this is

somewhere she's always wanted to
be.

I can honestly see modeling
taking a backseat

while she tries to pursue, uh,
Hollywood.

Maybe she even takes over
Hollywood.

Maybe she becomes one of the
greats.

It's kind of wide open for her
to take.

For Cara I think her future

is going to be defined by how
she

feels at the time

because this is someone

who doesn't necessarily follow a
set path.

You know, the modeling world has
been opened up to her

but she's not gonna stay in the
modeling industry

for the rest of her life

and be known as Cara the model.

That was never what she wanted
as we said.

And I think for her,

the avenues of music and movies

are gonna be where she's going
to hit the big time.

And we will be seeing her in the
cinemas

and on the red carpets

and, and the recording studios,

you know, in the not too distant
future.

And buying her albums.

And her modeling career, I
think,

will fall quite heavily, it will
be a thing of the past

in years to come because I think

this is where she is gonna hit
the big time.

The world better
watch out.

Cara Delevingne is not one to
simply bask in accolades.

The girl with the brows and the
attitude

is more than a pretty face.

She's ambitious, talented,

and she's out to conquer the
world,

one step at a time.
