I've known him a few years now. And
that's a fact. When we had our band at

Carfest... He was assigned to run the
stand for us. And he was really handy at

kind of social media and stuff. So he
now heads up the smallish called social

media department.

And today is his first attempt at a big
event.

It's Land Rovers. That's the theme.

People are coming from all over the
country. We're all going on a little

cavalcade. And then we all meet up at
the workshop where there'll be loads of

other people that have come along.

Lewis has put a lot of effort into it.
Big promises.

If it works, it gets our name out there
on social media.

If it doesn't work, it's taking a lot of
time, everybody's giving up their

Saturdays, and we can look like idiots.

relief to see work happening on that

Significantly, they're actually in

Every morning, about 9 o 'clock, they
start the day with a meeting. They talk

about what they're doing. We
communicate.

We took on Debbie's Mercedes after

the English wheel, the guillotine, the

shop, all down there. And then all the
paint side is that side. I think that's

where I wanted to get to. Working on the
stuff you want to work on.

It's cool, isn't it? It's just nice to
work on stuff like that.

If I'm here for 10 o 'clock at night, it
doesn't matter to me. But if you're in

a working environment where everybody
wants to knock off, like most people do,

It'd be nice, actually, to go back in
time to when Richard and I first met

he used to come down to Tram Inn and
we'd have fish and chip Friday.

And to be honest, we weren't really
talking about businesses back then. We

talking about cars.

I know he's got the smallest car, but I
think you have got to step away from it

now and again and just try and live your
life a bit without the pressure of

running a business.

You never know. I might actually get
Richard in here and get him to work on

e -talk, get some work out of him. He'd
like that.

There was a point when Neil and I fired
each other, as I recall, because I said,

I'm a terrible manager and you're
unmanageable.

Because neither of us were going to fit
into those roles.

So Neil's found his place, his role, his
playing to his strength. I need to do

the same.

The workshop is actually going well now.

Thanks, if we're honest, in no small
part to my stepping away a bit from day

-day managing things.

But if we are going to secure the high
-end, ultra -rare jobs that I want to

become a calling card of the smallest
cog, I need to go into full

role. That's my job now. So I've been
looking for opportunities, and I think

I've got one here. Friends of mine, all
ex -servicemen, are involved in

something. Amazing. It's to raise money
for the Special Forces Club Benevolent

Fund. It's a charity thing.

But what they're doing is recreating
Lawrence of Arabia's incredible trek. In

1917, 41 of them rode 685 miles on
camels

across the uncrossable from Saudi to
Akbar in Jordan.

I had volunteered to go and help for the
last stretch as part of the support

team. But that gets me to Jordan.

Now, the previous king of Jordan was a
massive petrolhead. They knew him as the

petrolhead king. He didn't just collect
cars, and he did collect cars. He also

raced seriously.

And that ignited a sort of growing
passion for classic cars in Jordan.

Well, I'm going to be there helping the
charity, but I am an ambassador for the

smallest cog.

Put the two together, and if I can turn
what looks like a jolly, albeit in aid

of charity, into a work trip, that's a
win -win.

Front seat covers, £495.

So, Debbie McGee's leather interior,
absolutely disgusting.

I've looked at a trimmer and they want
£15 ,000 to £20 ,000 to retrim this car,

which is going to wipe the whole budget
out straight away.

She needs brakes, exhaust systems,
electrics, and we're not going to be

do it for that. So, I've had a little
bit of a brainwave.

There's a place in Germany that make the
seat covers, carpets.

Door cards.

It all comes as a kit.

I can get that for around £3 ,000.

But we're going to have to fit the
interior ourself, which we've never

I'm going to order it, and then I'm
going to get myself and Matt to fit it.

It's a gamble, but I think it'll pay
off. I really do.

to raise the profile of the trek and

hopefully some money for a good cause.

But after a night in a freezing tent,

range, and it's very good off -road.

Amman of all the king's cars.

Then a journey here to Amman, where I am

around the subject of cars here already.

collectible classic car culture is

the royal family.

First stop, a museum dedicated to the
royal collection.

The museum uses cars to portray the
history of Jordan and the royal family

the idea of what have these cars seen in
their lifetime.

This is an early Cadillac 1956 armor, a
gift from President Eisenhower to

King Hussein.

Very interesting Range Rover. They were
used for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's

visit to Jordan in 1984.

Amazing how much of a difference it
makes on being able to fly a bull and

it around.

That's why they're that lovely now.

If we'd have sent that to a trimmer's,
the budget would have been gone,

weekend that we put all our stuff out,

putting us in front of people and they

eventually feel compelled to bring their
cars to us to work on, then it's good

for the business and I'm happy. I'm
going to view it as an experiment and

willing to continue, but not necessarily
indefinitely.
