Isabella: I stocked the bar, Bobbie.
All the invoices -- done.
Ah! And I fixed all those wobbly bar stools like you asked.
I think Idid that.
Yeah, well, I knew it was one of us.
Perfect. Some days y'all just nail it.
Did somebody drop their phone in the soup?
Oh.
Ugh! Just perfect!
Woman: And cut. [ Bell rings ]
That's a wrap on Reba.
I gotta get over to "The Voice."
Bye-bye.
Tell Bublé to call me.
Hey. Got some jokes for next week.
Oh, great.
Yes, yes, yes, yes, no.
Oh, love that one. Ah, she liked one!
[ Chuckles ]
[ Cheering in distance ]
Yes!
Oh, hey, Reba, we're all set for you.
Thanks much. Hey, Reba's on her way, guys.
All right, here we go.
[ Cheers and applause ]
Oh, wait. I'm in my "Happy's" outfit.
I can fix that.
[ Laughs ]
[ Cheers and applause ]
That's better.
Wow. Would you look at that? Green as a gator.
I'm Dustin Dale Gaspard.
I'm 33 years old, and I'm from Cow Island, Louisiana.
Cow Island's a very small, rural Cajun community.
There's rarely any concrete,
but there's plenty, plenty of alligators.
They're my favorite animal.
They're really like giant swamp puppies.
[ Laughs ] People think they're vicious dinosaur creatures,
but that is false.
My grandfather used to run and do cannonballs
and try to scare them away.
I mean, as long as they weren't, you know,
big enough to take a limb off.
And that's not -- that's not a joke.
[ Playing banjo ]
I grew up on swamp-pop music.
Hey!
It's a blend of rhythm and blues,
New Orleans-filled music,
country-western music,
as well as Cajun traditional music.
A lot of tunes would be bilingual
or traditionally Cajun French.
For the last two years, I've been living in my car.
I had a van for a while, traveled 100,000 miles.
When I'm on the road, it's hours of driving,
getting to a city, singing for a couple hours,
and then finding a parking lot to sleep in.
I've just been focused on honing the craft, and the coaches --
they'll be able to really help me break through the ceiling
and join the table of success.
Good show, everybody.
Let's have fun.
It's showtime, baby.
Man: All right. Places, please.
Dustin: A chair turn would justify
all the sacrifices that I've made.
It all comes down to this moment.
Man: Our next artist is entering now.
[ Gasps ]
Dustin: I think it'd be the first time
Cajun French is sung on "The Voice,"
which would be pretty cool.
I hope the coaches hear the legacy of my people.
Quand je travaille et quand je chante, j'écris mon histoire.
It means, "When I work and when I sing, I'm writing my history."
It all comes down to this moment.
Allons-y.
And, uh, que les bons moments roulent.
**
[ Playing harmonica ]
No, he's playing the harmonica already?
Oh, come on!
* If you ever *
* Change your mind *
* About leaving *
* Leaving me behind *
* Oh * * Oh *
* Bring it to me * * Bring it to me *
* Bring your sweet loving home *
* Bring it on home to me *
Oh, my God. I love it so much. * Yeah, yeah *
Oh, man. * Yeah, yeah *
* J'sais que j'ai ri*
* Quand t'as partie*

French? French.
* Bébé, amene-moi lé amene moi ton doue amour*

Oh, my God! Dustin: * Oh, eh *
* Oh, eh *
* You know I'll always *

[ Plays harmonica ]
Whoo-whoo!
Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow!
[ Cheers and applause ]
Oh, my God.
Who are you, and where are you from?
My name is Dustin Gaspard.
I'm 33 years old, and I'm from Cow Island, Louisiana.
Cow Island. What's that like?
It's a beautiful little place in southwest Louisiana.
I grew up fishing and riding on boats...
Wow. ...and messing with alligators and snakes.
Huh?
There is nothing better than hearing proper, unique,
full-of-character voice when you're facing away.
Amen, Niall. You've got a beautiful red button in front of you
and you're like, "Please, I need to turn around
and see this person." Oh, wow.
That was absolutely incredible. The bit of French.
You could sing "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep," and it would sound good.
This is a weird dream.
Dude, honestly, I feel like I'm in a dream, too.
I feel like we have a similar music taste,
just straight off the bat.
Please pick me. I love you.
I'm from southeastern Oklahoma,
so not far from where you are,
a little bit down that way.
But you're different,
you're unusual, you're refreshing,
and you can sing and play.
And, my gosh, I'd love to have you on my team.
Thank you, ma'am. Thank you so much.
Bonjour! Comment se va?
Je vais bien, merci. Oh, no!
Bienvenu,Dustin. Merci.
You're kind of what the people are asking for.
They want authenticity. They want authenticity.
They want something that's unique.
The music that you're making,
it really does sit in each of our lanes.
It's at the root of what all of us do,
whether it's Snoop or Niall or Reba or me.
So I don't think you can make a bad decision.
I'd love to have you on my team, man.
Thanks for being brave enough to come
and crushing it in this blind.
Thank you. Thank you, man.
* And they save the best for last *
[ Laughter ]
You know, I got family in Mississippi and in Louisiana.
And the music that you makin', it touched my heart
because I got uncles that chase alligators,
wrestle with snakes,
do all the things that you do.
So what I want to say is,
* If you ever *
* Change your mind *
* Ba-dum *
* And think about leaving *
* Leaving me behind * * Leaving me behind *
* Oh, pick me *
[ Laughter ]
* Bring it on over to me *
Yeah, dude!
[ Cheers and applause ]
Who do you pick as your coach?
[ Audience shouting ]
Niall.
All right, let's let the man -- let the man think.
Order!
Order! Order!
Dustin: I think...
Um...
[ Clears throat ]
**
* This is "The Voice" *
Daly: Welcome back to "The Voice."
Niall: Who do you pick as your coach?
[ Audience shouting ]
Niall.
All right, let's let the man -- let the man think.
Order!
Order! Order!
I think just based on, uh, the initial reaction
and, uh, all the enthusiasm
and some brothers that I have back in Ireland,
I'll have to go with Niall.
Let's go, Niall! Let's go, Niall!
[ Cheers and applause ]
Dustin -- remember the name.
That is one of the best auditions I've ever seen
and heard on this show in three seasons.
Welcome to the team, brother.
"The Voice" gods are with me,
and he came over to the good side.
Thank you.
Niall's had a few four-chair turns.
I think it's 'cause he's got his button open,
and you can see how macho he is.
Whoo!
Yeah, get it on, get it on.
He isn't the only one with this manliness.
[ Beep ]
Dude, that needs pruning. [ Laughs ]
And by the way, the last time I seen you, you didn't have that.
Well, that's -- That's grown fast. You got Miracle-Gro in there?
It's called healthy competition.
That's what it made me do.
Put hairs on your chest.
[ Laughter ]
It's so itchy!
Oh! It's also nice to pet.
He's the real deal. He's down to wrestle snakes.
I got uncles that do that. Oh, yeah?
"Come on out here, nephew. We out here gator baitin'."
What?! Don't want no damn alligators.
You're like, "Dude, I'm from LA.
We don't do that stuff."
Snoop Dogg: What is meant to be will be.
One thing that I really look forward to
is finding me a perfect artist.
Wonder who that will be?
We're back, baby!
Michael: Yes! It's season 28!
Wow!
* How long do I travel down this road *
* Before I reach you? *
Kanard: I call myself "The Comeback King."
My first experience on "The Voice" was on season 16.
I made it all the way to the blind auditions.
* Don't you know you're riding with the king? *
* Yeah, yeah *
Come on, let's go! * Yeah *
For me not to get a chair turn, I was devastated.
My name is Kanard Thomas. I'm 35 years old.
I'm from Columbus, Georgia.
Every door is not gonna open, but I didn't give up.
I was invited to come back for the online segment,
which was The Comeback Stage.
My coach on The Comeback Stage was Bebe Rexha.
* Oh, oh, baby *
Yes! Okay.
Take a breath. [ Inhale sharply ]
* Let's get it * They'll wait for you.
* Oh, baby *
[ Laughs ] * Let's get it on *
Hey!
That's what I'm talking about.
Kanard: She taught me to try things
that I never thought I can do.
And I ended up winning The Comeback Stage.
And I made it back to the top 24.
Comeback Stage finalist, Kanard Thomas.
I fought my way all the way back here.
So just making it back on to this live stage
and able to capture America would mean everything to me.
Thank you so much.
Daly: LB Crew, you are back on the show.
Kanard, thank you so much.
Kanard: And I end up getting eliminated again.
* You can't keep a good man down *
* No, you can't keep a good man down *
Kanard: So after my last appearance on "The Voice,"
I went home, and I was actually singing
on a cruise ship at the time.
It's three 45-minute sets, six days a week.
It's a lot of work,
but I get a chance to travel the world singing.
I've been to six different continents.
So here we are. Fast forward six, seven years.
Whoa! What's up, fam?
What's up, what's up? What's going on?
Kanard: My son is a young man, a rising junior in high school.
When my dad auditioned the first time,
it was a little nerve-racking.
It's okay. It's okay. It's all right.
This time, we're coming back 10 times stronger,
so you'll get all the chairs turned.
Anytime he turns around, I'm just gonna go,
"Yeah, great. Okay, fine. Next."
[ Laughter ]
There's another one out there. I know there is.
Kanard: Here I am again. It is a little intimidating,
only because I have the memory of my first experience.
But I'm here to create a new one.
I feel very, very good about this.
Man: Ladies and gentlemen,
our next artist is entering now.
Kanard: To have the second chance
is showing myself that I'm resilient,
and honestly, teaching my son to never give up on a dream.
**
* Somebody told me *
* There'd be trouble at home *
* 'Cause we never talk a lot *
* When we spend time alone *
* So how are we supposed to know * * So how are we supposed to know *
* Know that something is wrong? * * Know that something is wrong? *
* Well, we've got a right to communicate *
* And it keeps a happy home *
* And no one does it like me *
* And no one but you * Niall: Whoa!
* Has the kind of whip appeal on me * * Has the kind of whip appeal on me *
* Yeah, oh, whatever you want, yeah *
* Is all right with me *
* You got the whip appeal *
* So come on and work it on me * * So come on and work it on me *
* Oh, it's better than love * * Better than love *
* Sweet as can be *
* Oh, you got it, oh, you got it *
* Oh, you got it, you got it *
* Keep on working on me *
That's what I'm talking about. Thank you, Jesus!
* Working on me *
* Whip all your sweet, sweet lovin' * * Whip all your sweet, sweet lovin' *
* Whip all your sweet, sweet lovin' *
* On me *
[ Cheers and applause ]
Yeah! What's your name? Where are you from?
My name is Kanard Thomas, and I'm from Columbus, Georgia.
Yay!
Wow. That was impressive. Thank you.
It was real dreamy, Luther Vandross kind of vibe.
And then explosion towards the end.
It was such a great audition.
Listen, I've got no one like you on my team.
You know, I've been here before. I've won this thing twice.
[ Cheers and applause ]
I'm not gonna lie. I feel like I'm up against it.
From minute one, he sung every single word with you.
Do you perform a lot?
I do. I sing on cruise ships.
Oh, no. Fun! Cool, yeah.
Well, I loved your song. It was beautiful.
You've got a great voice.
And thank you for the entertainment.
I appreciate it. Thank you.
[ Cheers and applause ]
Listen, my wife and I need a ticket
to that cruise ship that you're on, brother.
[ Laughter ]
Hilarious. That is so sexy, dude.
Man, that was a great selection of song.
Babyface. Thank you.
You sung it like it was yours.
I understand that you area performer.
I felt that, and I seen that.
You was something that sparked my heart.
That's why I jumped in. I got in first.
I'd love to have you on my team. Welcome to "The Voice."
[ Cheers and applause ]
You have your choice of two of the greatest
human beings and coaches and musicians on the planet.
Are you ready to choose your coach?
I think I am.
[ Cheers and applause ]
[ Audience shouting ]
**
I'm gonna have to go with Uncle Snoop.
Oh!
[ Cheers and applause ]
Snoop Dogg: Kanard, Babyface "Whip Appeal"...
Man!
...for him to choose that lets me know that he knows
exactly what he's supposed to be singing.
I tried, I tried.
Niall -- I like his strategy on how he's building his team.
He got real good salesman skills about himself.
You know what I do. I bring the heat with the beat.
So have a seat 'cause it's gonna be a treat.
Thank you.
For me to come back and do this now and to be on a team,
I have no words.
Oh, I'm so glad you got him.
I'm so glad. he's good.
Niall: I'm pretty sad that I didn't get Kanard.
I really wanted an R&B singer.
I was up against the king, Snoop Dogg,
but I wanted to pitch myself.
Now you have sick R&B girl...
Reba: Very nice. ...sick R&B guy.
He's a performer on a boat.
You know, you gotta perform on them boats, on them cruises.
Niall: Hell, yeah. Everybody drunk.
[ Laughter ]
Yes.
* Oh, yeah *
Daly: Still to come, the artists raise the bar
with showstopping performances
that have our coaches fighting harder than ever.
* It's like rain on your wedding day *
Yeah-ha-ha!
Reba McEntire! You are so sneaky.
It just feels like you need to be on my team.
If you don't join my team,
my wife may leave me.
That's superstar qualities. I'm gonna rock out with you.
You know what I'm saying?
I've got that outfit in about 18 different colors.
See the method to my madness?
Snoop Dogg: I don't want to be under that spell.
[ Laughter ]
* This is "The Voice" *
Daly: Welcome back to the blind auditions.
Man: All right, stand by, folks. 20 seconds out.
Do all your kids live in LA?
Mm-hmm. Yeah, my kids grown, man.
How old is your oldest? 31.
I'm 31. For real?
Mm. You was born in 1994?
Three. So 32 this year, yeah.
Damn! My first record came out in '93.
"Doggystyle."
Analog. Analog?
Tape. You were spitting bars?
We can write a rap together, Snoop.
I got bars, man. I know.
[ Laughter ]
Man: Our next artist is entering now.
Shan: This opportunity means the world to me.
Come on. I feel something.
Shan: When I was barely 18,
I chose to pack a car and move to Nashville.
I knew one person, and I lived on a couch.
There's my baby.
I have put in 10 years of effort
to become a full-time musician.
She looks great.
A chair turn would change my life,
because this is going to give me the chance to have my big break.
**
* You shine like a star *
* You know who you are *
* You're everything beautiful *
* She's hot, hot like the sun *
* The loneliest one *
* Still everything beautiful *
* Well, I'll be damned *
* You're standing at my door *
* We stayed up in the city *
* Till the stars lost the war *
* So Friday night, Holy Ghost *
* Take me to your level *
* Show me the one I need the most *
* I need the most *
* Wish I knew you when I was young *
* We could have gotten so high *
Oh, I like this.
* Now we're here and it's been so long *
* Two strangers * Here's the...
* In the bright lights *
* Yeah * Oh!
* Oh, and I hope you don't mind *
* We can share my mood, yeah *
* Two strangers in the bright light *
* I wish I knew you *
* I wish I knew you *
* Oh, I wish I knew you when I was young *
[ Cheers and applause ]
Did Reba push?! Yes, she did!
Oh, my God!
[ Cheers and applause ]
**
Hi, there. [ Chuckles ]
Reba McEntire! You are so sneaky.
Well, I really wasn't sneaky.
I was just really into the music.
And I looked down at that little number thing,
and it was like, four.
And I was like, surely not.
I love your voice.
It just -- phoo! -- just flew all over me.
Wow! Thank you.
Well, okay. Sorry.
Pardon my bad manners.
What's your name, and where are you from?
My name is Shan Scott.
I am from New York, and I'm 28 years old.
Your speaking voice is even so...
Yeah. ...rich.
It's got, like, a fur coat or something.
[ Laughter ]
I love the song selection, too.
I'm not familiar with the song,
and I was kind of rocking along with it.
A song will kind of overtake you,
and at first you might -- "Ah, that's a cute little song."
But then when it really creeps into your soul,
and that's what that song did with your singing.
So thank you so much for that.
Thank you. That means the world to me.
Sometimes when we really love somebody,
we'll wait to the end.
I've done it before, and I thought you were doing it
because I loved your voice.
You have a wonderful rasp.
And I know you have a soft spot for that sort of gorgeous voice.
And so if you had pushed the button earlier,
I would have come with you. I would have went with you.
And he would have gone, too. And so --
And see the method to my madness?
[ Laughter and applause ]
I'm sorry I didn't turn, but I am glad
that you're on the show, definitely, no doubt.
Heck, yeah. And Reba, in typical Reba fashion, she's done it again.
Once again Reba McEntire will have a one-chair turn
that all of us will kick ourselves for.
I'm a fan. I'm glad you're on the show,
and I'm glad that you got Queen Reba as your coach,
'cause she is phenomenal at coaching.
Thank you, Snoop. Thank you.
Thank you, Snoop.
When Shan came out singing,
I was like, "Wow. That's incredible."
She had that little raspy thing going.
And the more she was singing,
the more I fell in love with her voice.
I'll say hi, even though you didn't pick me.
I was so close, I swear to God.
I'm so glad I didn't have to fight for her.
I wanted her on my team so bad.
There, that's yours. All right.
Snoop Dogg: When Reba gets a great artist on her team,
I'm ecstatic because she's, like,
the only one that hears what she hears in there.
Yeah, yeah!
Good job. Thank you, thank you.
And then by the time we get to those rounds
where that person is still around, it's like, wow!
You know what? I'm gonna start being like you
instead of trying to not be like you.
[ Cheers and applause ]
For the longest I'm thinking,
"Well, it's not gonna be, not gonna be."
And, boy, she just kept singing.
Well, I love that -- you know what?
She reminds me of a girl from your first team.
Slow start for Team Bublé, but I'm gonna bounce back.
[ Laughs ]
Michael: You know, one of the things I'm always looking for
is character voices.
I love character voices,
and I'm waiting to hear something special.
Daly: As our coaches start building their teams,
start building yours.
Get the "Voice" official app now and play along.
* This is "The Voice" *
Daly: Welcome back to "The Voice."
Welcome to Carly Harvey's classroom.
[ Laughing ] I'm such a dork. I'm sorry.
Let me do that again.
[ Clears throat ]
[ Laughs ]
I'm so sorry.
[ Beep ]
Welcome to Carly Harvey's classroom.
I'm Carly Harvey. I am a full-time musician,
and I also have my own private studio
teaching voice, piano, and beginner's guitar.
And really kind of, like, feel this groove I'm giving you.
I am all about vibes. So when someone has bad vibes,
that frequency kind of brings me down and I don't --
[laughs] I don't want to, you know, be around it.
But this is all good vibes.
So I'm -- I'm really enjoying it.
Let me get under your hat. [ Laughs ]
One, two, three.
[ Laughs ] Yeah.
This is so cool.
She's also tried to make meone of her students.
That's not happening.
[ Both laugh ]
But she's a wonderful teacher.
You just high-five their faces.
Something that brings me good vibes is my mojo bag.
It's got some basil inside 'cause that's for prosperity.
I've got shungite in here.
It's pretty magnetic.
The frequency you're on, you're going to attract.
So I've got a petrified-wood pendulum.
I would use this to help me decide which coach to choose.
It's a little goody bag that I keep on me at all times.
[ Laughs ]
My genre is blues,
and I would call myself a blues-ologist.
Blues funk fusion, blues rock fusion.
There's something for everybody.
Without blues, we don't have jazz.
Without blues, we don't have rock 'n' roll.
Without blues, we don't have R&B,
and therefore without blues, we don't have soul music.
It's the root of the tree,
and then we've got these, like, beautiful branches,
which is really, really cool.
It's moments before my blind audition,
and I'm feeling really excited, but also nervous.
I think this opportunity is gonna change my stars.
I'm a little bit older in the game.
I'm 39.
This has been a dream of mine for a really long time.
To have the opportunity to fulfill a dream
is really wild and surreal.
All right, Crysi. Let's do this.
[ Gasps ] Carson! [ Whispering ] How are you?
Come here.
What's up?
Do I have to be quiet?
No. What do you mean? This is your party. No.
Okay. Like, right now I can't scream, right?
I mean, you can. That'd be --
It might be awkward for you or scare her, but...
No, I won't, I won't. [ Chuckles ]
[ Whispering ] Go, Carly.
Let's go. Come on.
**
I already love it. * I miss the arms *
* That used to hold me *
* The tender way we used to kiss *
* Ooh, yeah *
* I miss the way that you touch me * Come on, come on, come on!
Come on, let's go.
* I miss the sweet taste of your lips *
Oh, she sounds good.
* It hurt, it hurt, it hurts so bad *
* Oh, oh, you were the best man *
* I ever, ever had *
Come on, where's Bublé?
Come on, Bublé.
* Why was I so blind to see *
* That the biggest fool is me? *
[ Scatting ]
Oh, what are they doing? Yes!
* Oh, you were a fool to *
* Let me, let me go *
* Oh, why did you let me go? *
* Now I'm so lonesome here without you *
* Oh, how I miss you *
* I miss yo-o-o-o-o-ou *
* Sooooo now *
Uh!
Wow!
[ Cheers and applause ]
Niall: Whoo!
**
You better work!
What is your name, and where you from?
Hi. I'm Carly Harvey. I'm from Washington, D.C.
Okay.
Carly, D.C., Chocolate City.
How long you been singing, baby?
I think since I was born. I think my -- I had to make --
my parents would turn the radio down
because I wouldn't stop singing.
Well, let me say this.
You have two great coaches... Thank you.
...that will position themselves to try to be your coach.
And I'm happy for you.
Happy to be able to hear you sing on "The Voice."
Welcome to the show, baby.
Carly: Thank you.
Niall: Hi, Carly. Hi.
I'm really looking at singers
where I feel like I can make a difference.
I don't think I can teach you to do the singing part.
The power that you have, I couldn't...navigate,
help you navigate through this.
But I do know that these two absolutely can.
Welcome to "The Voice."
Thank you.
I don't know if I could coach you,
if I could help you or not, I'll just be honest.
But we're gonna have a lot of fun.
And look -- we're matching with the turquoise.
I know, girl! Look at us,
And you can teach mea lot.
So I'm open if you're open to have fun
and get in there and sing and try some different songs.
I'd love to have you on my team.
Thank you. My sister's here with me.
We grew up listening to your music.
We used to stay up late watching CMT... Oh, God.
...and when your videos would come on, we were...
Bring your sister on stage.
[ Cheers and applause ]
Oh, my God!
And now for the death blow.
Bring up her sister, who's an avid Reba fan.
Hi, Reba! Hi!
[ Laughter ]
Hey, Michael.
I don't know if you noticed,
but I have some turquoise in my watch.
[ Laughter ]
This seems like a reoccurring nightmare that I live.
You're wonderful. You have a beautiful sound.
I'm moved by the music.
I was dancing back here like Elvis.
And, uh... Well.
[ Laughter ]
I would love to have you on my team.
It's a pleasure to have you on "The Voice" nonetheless.
Thank you.
Who will you choose as your coach?
[ Audience shouting ]
I just so happen to have
a petrified-wood pendulum with me,
so that's gonna help me decide.
Oh, cool.
I'm so happy 'cause I thought
you might throw it at me.
No!
Well, this ain't got nothing to do with me,
so I don't want to be under that spell.
[ Laughter ]
* They call me the voodoo woman *
That's -- [ Laughs ] Ooh!
Ooh! All right.
If it swings back and forth, that means yes.
And if it swings side to side, that's a no.
Should we go with Michael? Should we be on Michael's team?
Ooh. Can I ask you something?
I'm not gonna die anytime soon, right?
No.
But that's a very strong swing.
That's a strong swing.
Michael's spirit has now been placed inside of the pendulum.
Is Reba gonna be my coach?
It's going up and back, up and back,
up and back like a low-rider.
It's bouncing. Okay.
I'm gonna choose...
Oh!
I'm gonna choose Michael.
Mikey!
Michael: Carly has a big, powerful voice
that could go very far in this competition.
This is for you.
Oh, God.
Team "Blue-blé" is back.
I couldn't even say that right.
[ Mumbles gibberish ]
Team Bublé is back, baby!
* They call me... *
He's under her spell.
Will Bublé win season 28?
If it moves in a circle...
Oh, God. It's doing it.
[ Cheers and applause ]
Three-peat. Three-peat.
You are getting sleepy.
I'm just getting hungry, though, right now.
Mike, you've been voodoo-ed. I know voodoo when I see it.
[ Laughter ]
Don't you do that stuff?
Like, the crystals and all that stuff?
Oh, yeah. Only light, love, and energy.
No darkness. I understand. Know the bad.
Know the bad stuff. No bad stuff.
Like I've been doing with Niall.
I have a little doll of him that I just keep poking.
[ Laughter ]
* This is "The Voice" *
Daly: Welcome back to the blind auditions
at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Hello. Say hi to Auntie Reba.
Come on. There she go. Over there.
This is my little homeboy right here, Baby Boy Broadus.
If he sniff you and you ain't right, you out.
Niall: Awwww!
[ Indistinct conversation ]
You ready to be on television? Hmm?
[ Audience shouting ]
Michael: Things are going well. Let's go.
Almost like the rugby ball.
[ Laughter ]
Oh, he's gone. No.
Outside -- our outside receiver.
Every day I come in here, I'm like, "That's Snoop Dogg.
That's Reba McEntire."
Don't believe a word you hear about this woman.
Arrr! Rawr! She'll eat you alive!
Bublé has got one of the best voices of all time.
[ Mouth full ] I probably shouldn't go out there
with this in my mouth.
And he's just an absolute legend.
[ Normal voice ] It's gonna be so much fun.
Let's go! Season 28! Come on!
[ Chomping loudly ]
[ Car horns honking ]
Colin: * Che bella cosa*
* Na jurnata 'e sole*
[ Laughs ] I'm Colin Bracewell.
I'm 24 years old,
and I'm from Minneapolis, Minnesota.
* We are family, yeah, yeah*
I started music when I was four,
and I went to the University of Minnesota
with a full ride studying opera.
Opera has really given me the tools
to find out what my voice is capable of.
But I would still consider myself a pop singer.
I'm currently in a band,
and my older brother sells my merch.
He's my merch man.
Whoa! Look at that! [ Laughs ]
My brother's name is Chad. Ready?
He has special needs.
You're the best singer.
Thanks, Chad.
Colin: We grew up just having fun together.
That hurt. Ow! Ooh!
My brother inspires me to make the most
of every opportunity.
Love you, dude.
I can always count on him, and everyone knows him
at my shows now, and he's great.
So proud of you. Don't forget the merch.
[ Laughter ]
I really have been spending the last couple years
focusing on my own music.
Having this would be a great next step forward.
A chair turn for me would be an opening
of a new chapter in my life,
moving away from singing opera
to making music that I really love making.
having complete self-expression.
I'm really excited to finally share that.
Man: Ten seconds.
Okay.
[ Announcer voice ] Five, four, three.
Colin: My brother is an inspiration to chase this dream.
If there's some way that I can continue to do music,
having my brother be there with me every step of the way,
that would be the dream.
I wouldn't want anything else.
Let's go! This is it, man. This is it.
Come on, Colin.
**
* Girl, I know you very well *
* See you growing every day *
* I never really looked before *
* But now you take my breath away *
* Suddenly you're in my life *
* Part of everything I do *
* You got me working day and night *
* Just trying to keep a hold on you *
* Here in your arms I found my paradise *
* My only chance of happiness *
* Oh, and if I lose you now I think I would die *
* Oh, say you'll always be my baby *
* We can make it shine *
* We can take forever just a minute at a time *
* Ahh, ahh, ahh *
* More than a woman *
* More than a woman * * Ba-da-da *
* More than a woman to me * * More than a woman to me *
[ Falsetto ] * More than a woman *
* Ooh, my baby *
* More than a woman to me *
* More than a woman *
[ Cheers and applause ]
Oh! Damn.
What's your name, and where are you from?
My name's Colin Bracewell. I'm 24 years old.
And I'm from Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Yeah!
Brother Colin, what's happening?
What up, Snoop Dogg? I'm chillin', man.
When you started doing falsetto,
I wish you would have sung it in falsetto from the beginning. Yeah.
You put your own spin on it,
but I started to hear all the things
that you could do with your vocals towards the end.
And then the clock ran out.
This is just one day. Totally.
And one day doesn't make your career,
long as you live to see the next day.
Love that. Thank you.
Niall: Colin, I'm so sorry, man.
By the way, I've got that outfit in about 18 different colors.
Going in and out of head and chest voice is so difficult to do.
Honestly, come back because I'm telling you,
a different song and a different mood,
with that tone, you'll go places, no doubt.
Thanks, Niall. Appreciate you.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I have been singing opera.
That's what I went to school for. Wow.
I actually have my brother, Chad Bracewell.
Hey, Chad. Come on stage, Chad.
We can't see you from over there.
[ Cheers and applause ]
[ Chuckles ] "Chad the Merch Man."
Yeah, Chad "The Merch Man" Bracewell.
He sells merch at all my shows.
He actually wanted to give you some merch...
Reba: Aw! Yeah, I'll wear that.
Thank you, Chad.
While he's passing out the merch,
could you sing about eight bars of some opera for me?
Yeah. Reba: Yes, please.
Thank you so much.
Thanks, Chad.
* Che bella cosa*
* N'aria serena doppo*
* Na tempesta*
Hey! Thanks, Col.
Reba: Thank you.
Niall: First of all, Colin -- stud.
Handsome dude.
Great outfit. Would have worn it myself.
The reason I didn't turn for Colin is
he didn't map the song out very well.
[ Chuckles ] Reba: So sweet.
We're so lucky to hear so many amazing singers on this show,
and we've all curated great teams now
of different types of voices.
I'm really only gonna turn
for things that give me goosebumps,
that give me that gut feeling.
That's my strategy from here on in.
Bad Chad. Niall: Nice.
To be fair, I'm gonna be wearing this.
Better than my merch. Yeah, it's really nice.
[ Laughter ]
* This is "The Voice" *
Daly: Welcome back to the blind auditions.
I'm a huge shower singer.
Yeah, you go to a recording studio,
and then you go to the bathroom and you warm up.
You know, let's do it in here!
You know, almost everything I do, arrangement-wise...
Is in the shower?
...I do this with my hands.
I don't know why I hold myself like this.
The acoustics are amazing!
Man: Okay, 90 seconds. 90 seconds out.
Nine-oh.
Vinya: It feels incredible to be on "The Voice."
It's so surreal.
I mean, I've been watching this show since I was so little,
so it's insane to be here.
[ Metal clanging ]
[ Tape fast forwarding ]
[ Drumming ]
I'm Vinya Chhabra. I'm 14 years old.
And I'm from East Brunswick, New Jersey.
A Vinya show would entail
a lot of head bangs, jumping.
Being the lead singer of a rock band is
the type of artist that I would want to be.
Let's go!
Vijit: We started giving her drum lessons in the rock genre,
and then from there, guitar, bass.
Mom wanted to make sure she learned classical piano.
With classical music,
I got the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall.
I've also done musicals and plays.
Right now I'm in the house band for Kids Rock For Kids.
Being 14, this opportunity is so insane to have.
Man: Our next artist is entering now.
Vinya: I think there needs to be more women in rock,
and I hope that I'm able to inspire young girls
that want to be rockers.
To get a chair turn, I'm gonna try my hardest
and put all I can do into this performance.
**
* An old man turned ninety-eight *
* He won the lottery, then died the next day *
* And isn't it ironic? *
Don't you think?
Don't you think?
* It's like rain on your wedding day *
* It's a free ride *
Oh.
Yeah. * When you've already paid *
* It's the good advice that you just didn't take *
* And who would've thought? * * Thought *
* It figures *
Hey. You think young?
* Well life has a funny way of sneaking up on you *
Young. * When you think everything's okay *
* And everything's going right *
* It's like rain on your wedding day *
* It's a free ride when you've already paid *
* It's the good advice that you just didn't take *
* And who would've thought? It figures *
Whew. * Life has a funny, funny way *
* Of helping you out, helping you out *
[ Cheers and applause ]
**
Hi, there. What's your name, and where are you from?
I'm Vinya Chhabra, I'm 14 years old,
and I'm from New Jersey.
You know what's funny?
Michael and I were looking at each other, and he was going,
"Is she young?" I said, "I think so."
Michael: Yeah. But what a powerhouse.
Yeah, honestly.
I absolutely loved your voice
and your attitude, totally. Thank you.
And I'd love to have you on my team.
I think we'd have a blast.
Hi, Vinya. My name is Michael Steven Bublé.
I'm from Vancouver, Canada.
And once I heard Alanis Morissette from Ottawa, Canada,
I could not stop myself from turning around
and representing my country of Canada.
Niall: Whoa! Yeah!
And I was even singing harmony with you.
He was.
* It's like rain *
Yeah.
* On your wedding day *
* It's a free ride when you've already paid *
* It's the good advice that you just didn't take *
* And who would've thought? It figures *
Vinya?
Niall: Whoa.
Hey. A great man,
Carson Daly, once said,
we need more rock on this show.
Yeah!
And here it is. Welcome to "The Voice."
I hope you join Team Mike.
[ Laughs ]
Yeah, baby. I'm rocking out.
[ Laughter ]
I'm from an era of rock, rap, alternative
all being meshed together.
Yeah. Hell yeah. You give me the spirit.
When I was listening to you, I was like, man, she sound young.
But that voice sound powerful.
Then when I turned around and seen you,
and you said you're 14 years old,
you pack a powerful punch at your age.
[ Laughs ] Thank you so much.
And the way you handle this,
like this, like you're not nervous.
You're not afraid. You just taking it in.
That's superstar quality. Rock star.
It just feels like you need to be on my team,
'cause, you know,
I'm-a rock out with you. You know what I'm saying?
Oh, Vinya, I was so close. I'm kicking myself.
I cannot believe the power that you have.
Like, I was 16 when I came on a show like this,
and I was a nervous wreck.
And you're the complete opposite.
Whoo!
Listen, if I was 14 years old,
and I was here with my parents --
Is it your parents that are here? Yeah.
I wouldn't want to make this decision without them.
So why don't you bring them up with you?
Niall: Correct. Vinya: Aww!
'Cause, Vinya, if it's with Snoop,
if it's Reebs, if it's me, it's gonna be all of us together.
Welcome to "The Voice," Mom and Dad.
Make the decision, you guys. Get together.
Smoosh up.
[ Speaking indistinctly ]
$2.95! $1.99! A dollar!
$7.99!
[ Audience shouting ]
$4.60!
[ Speaking indistinctly ]
$24.99!
Okay. Sorry, sorry. [ Chuckles ]
[ Audience shouting ]
**
I'm gonna go Team Reba. Oh!
* "Here's your one chance, Fancy, don't let me down" *
Oh, my gosh! Let's go, Queen Reebs.
Thank you, thank you! * She said, "Here's your one chance" *
* "Fancy, don't let me down" * Thank you very much.
Reba: Vinya really had great range, great tone.
And the young contestants on the show are like sponges.
Oh! Yeah! They really want to learn. They really want to grow.
And she chose me. I was thrilled to pieces.
Let me meet your mom and dad.
How are you? [ Speaks indistinctly ]
Reba's a huge threat because she is literally one
of the most successful musicians on the planet. * She said, "Here's your one *
Welcome to "The Voice." * Chance, Fancy, don't let me down" *
And the greatest in the universe at what she does. * She said, "Here's your one *
* Chance, Fancy, don't let me down" * Reba: Alrighty, then. Whoo!
So much fun. Michael: Yee-haw.
I love it.
Announcer: Our next artist is entering now.
My name is Conrad Khalil. I'm 28 years old.
I was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey.
It was essentially the hood, but I gravitated toward the dance,
toward, you know, the art.
I went to a performing arts school.
This could make you feel like you beat the odds.
I love this opportunity.
A chair turn would prove that I'm worthy.
* Why I'm so caught up * * Caught up *
* Got me feeling it, caught up *
* I don't know what it is, but it seems she's got me twisted *
* A hold *
* But it seems she's got me twisted *
* I'm so *
Reba: I love Conrad's voice. * Really feeling it *
I hear emotion. I hear range. * I'm losing control *
It was just like wow.
* I don't know what it is, this girl's got a hold on me *
Conrad, I'm gonna ask you the question.
Who do you pick -- Oh, wait. You already did.
[ Laughter ]
Let's go, Reba.
I know the other coaches will regret that one,
and they'll be trying to steal him down the road.
And welcome to "The Voice." Thank you so much.
You got a little sparkle on this side.
I'm-a rock this so good. There you go.
I am feeling great about Team Reba so far.
Whoo, yeah!
Oh, yeah.
I took some chances today and proved to be the right move,
so I'm really feeling good about going with my gut.
Daly: Still to come...
* I love you, I'm sorry *
Oh. Oh, yeah.
Whoo-hoo!
Daly: Love is in the air.
Wow!
I just watched two dudes fall in love with you.
We nearly fell in love with each other, to be honest with you.
Talk about love at no sight, you know?
Daly: As our coaches passionately fight...
Your singing is so...sensual.
Thank you.
I just can't wait to steal you.
I deserve you, and you deserve me!
Yes!
Daly: ...to fill their teams.
Reba, he's a heartthrob. There's nothing much we can do.
Sit there and look pretty. [ Laughs ]
I'm the Pedro Pascal of jazz music.
* This is "The Voice" *
Daly: Welcome back.
I keep coming to "The Voice" because, uh...
I'm here.
...I love -- I love music, and I love artists.
'Cause Reba's here.
And I love Reba.
Number one.
Aww, you said that about me?
I did. [ Laughs ]
Liam: After 10 years touring on the road as an audio engineer,
being backstage and working as part of the crew...
Announcer: Our next artist is entering now.
Come on.
Liam: ...this moment means a lot to me,
to finally be the one to step into the spotlight,
to show the coaches maybe I do have what it takes
to be on this side of the business.
**
Whew. * It's not a silly little moment *
* It's not the storm before the calm *
* This is the deep and dying breath of *
* This love that we've been working on *
He good.
* Can't seem to hold you like I want to *
Mm.
* So I can feel you in my arms *
* Nobody's gonna come and save you *
* We pulled too many false alarms *
* We're going down *
Oh.
* And you can see it too *
* We're going down and you know that we're doomed *
* My dear we're slow dancing in a burning room *
* So go cry about it why don't you *
* So go cry about it why don't you *
Ooh!
* My dear, we're slow dancing in a burning room *
Oh, my God.
**
* In a burning room *
* My dear, we're slow dancing in a burning room *
Oh, God, yeah!
[ Cheers and applause ]
**
Ah.
Oh, that's so good.
Oh, yes.
Hey. Wow.
Hey, brother. What's your name? Where you from?
My name is Liam von Elbe. I'm 30 years old.
I'm from Plattsburgh, New York.
It's a real pleasure to meet you.
I just watched two dudes fall in love with you.
We nearly fell in love with each other, to be honest with you.
[ Laughter ]
Talk about love at no sight, you know?
Do you perform full time?
I don't, no. What?
I'm a touring audio engineer, so... Oh.
Monitors or front of house? Monitors.
Yeah. Yeah.
I feel sorry for that guy or girl
that you do monitor and engineer for,
'cause they're probably not as good as you.
Um...
I've always wanted to try to make this happen,
but I've just always been a little too afraid, so...
What? What?
Well, I think you're well on your way.
Thank you so much. Thank you.
[ Cheers and applause ]
I go on tour with artists and bands.
My main job is I'm on the side of the stage on the sound board,
controlling what the artist hears.
It's a very important job
to make sure that the artist feels comfortable and can hear,
so they can have a good show.
I've been on tour with Halsey,
Panic! at the Disco, Paramore.
About three years ago, I had a moment on tour
that completely changed the way I think about my music career.
Paramore heard me singing at soundcheck one day,
and they told me, "You gotta sing at the show tonight."
And I was like, "Oh, you're kidding, obviously."
And they're like, "No."
And so I sang "Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac, and it was great.
The whole crowd was waving their cell phone lights,
and that was definitely the first moment in my life
where I was like, "Maybe I can do this.
If I put in the work, I think I can maybe do this."
[ Cheers and applause ]
Snoop: Liam, man, I mean,
the sound of your voice was mesmerizing.
Me and Niall was sitting back here, and it was like kinetic.
You playing the guitar. You compose.
You -- You just -- You the whole package.
You exactly what we need on this show,
and you exactly what we need on our team.
Thank you so much. Thank you so much.
Honestly, I've got goosebumps just sitting here.
That was beautiful. Thank you.
Like, I'd love to just stick headphones on
and just listen to a whole album of that.
That's the kind of stuff that -- Take this the right way --
put you to sleep at night.
[ Laughter ]
I don't have someone like you on my team yet.
I've been waiting for you, dude.
Liam: Thank you guys so much.
Hey, Liam, I don't want to put the pressure on.
This is a hard show, man.
If you want to get to where you want to get,
this is only the beginning,
but we got to start with the beginning.
So, Liam, who is your coach
for Season 28 of "The Voice" going to be?
[ Audience shouting ]
**
I choose Niall. * Azizam *
Yes!
* Meet me on the floor tonight * Come on!
Snoop: Way to go, Niall. Come on.
Niall: Isn't that crazy,
that, like, the sound engineer becomes the artist?
I usually like dynamics,
but if he just stayed in that low register the whole time,
it was enough for me. That tone is so pure,
had a little bit of a rasp to it.
I've worked a concert with you before.
I already know. I was about to say,
you ain't gonna be doing that too much longer.
Niall: Wowee.
Me and Snoop battling it out again.
Snoop: Niall is just a great ear and a great songwriter.
So you always think about what could fit with your team.
The people that he's getting on his team,
more than likely, I'm trying to get them.
Huh? Who do you work with?
A bunch of artists. Oh, yeah?
Katy Perry and bunch of other -- Oh, right, yeah.
I'm not gonna talk too much. I'm-a talk enough, you know.
That's what it's about.
* Azizam *
Good job, good job.
Hey, he worked at one of my concerts before.
I recognized him when he came closer to me,
and I said, "Who do you work with?"
And he was like, "I've met you before with Katy Perry."
I was like, I actually do recognize him.
Oh, that's -- I know him!
Yeah. We've worked together before.
I know his dad, too.
Bublé's been around a while. He knows his dad.
Liam! I know you! Liam, you still there?
Why didn't you say anything?!
I also just fired my monitor engineer!
[ Laughter ]
Niall: But I need you on this show!
* This is "The Voice" *
Daly: Welcome back to the blind auditions.
* Michael Bublé, you have a voice of an angel *
* Snoop Dogg, and I mean that kindly *
* You and I could rock the block *
* No need to get a Bentley *
* Niall, you're the one, perfection *
* Know he's in the right direction *
* Reba, you're my girl, come on, take over the whole world *
* Give me the chance, oh-oh-ohh *
* Yeah *
My name is Lauren Anderson. I'm 40 years old.
I'm from Oak Park, Illinois,
and I'm currently living in Nashville, Tennessee.
In the past seven years, I have released a lot of music.
I've done a lot more touring.
Meet Bertha, my tour van.
I recently bought a really old 12-passenger van.
She has no bells and whistles,
although I did install this fancy doodad.
She is old enough to legally drink,
but she doesn't 'cause she drives.
Terrible, terrible.
For my blind audition I will be singing
"Midnight Train to Memphis" by Chris Stapleton.
It's about somebody who's stuck,
and that is a feeling I can relate to.
I'm 40 [Laughs] and my life is not at all cookie-cutter.
And...I struggle with that sometimes.
I feel really behind.
You know, I don't have a partner.
I don't have a husband. I don't have kids.
There's been so many times when I've wondered,
"How much longer should I go after this dream?"
And there's a lot of hard days.
Announcer: Our next artist is entering now.
I think if I got a chair turn...
Come on, Snoop.
See.
Lauren: ...I guess it would mean...
**
...me proving to myself that I can do it.
**
**
* Oh yeah *
[ Laughs ]
Whoo!
* Well, judge looked down, and gave me forty days *
* Instead of the fine that I could not pay *
* Said, walk right, and you'll soon be home *
* Cross the line, you'll be on your own *
* Forty days of shotguns and barbed wire fences *
* Hey *
* Forty nights to sit and listen *
Oh, my God. Yeah.
* Yeah to the midnight train to Memphis *
* Ahhh *
Oh!
* Whistle blows when the sun comes up *
* Head to the floor, keep your big mouth shut *
* I said forty days of shotguns and barbed wire fences *
* Oh forty nights to sit and listen *
* Hey to the midnight train to Memphis *
* The midnight train to Memphis *
What?
* Hey *
[ Laughs ]
[ Cheers and applause ]
About to have a heart attack.
Snoop Dogg!
**
Yeah! Wow!
Reba: Whoo!
**
Snoop, you made her work for that one.
Yeah.
Man.
That midnight train to Memphis, huh? Yeah.
What is your name, and where you from?
My name is Lauren Anderson, and I'm from Oak Park, Illinois.
That's right.
[ Cheers and applause ]
When you start screaming, I'm like,
"Oh, this is my style right here."
Yes! Yes. But my strategy was
I didn't want none of them to jump in the wait.
It's only me and me only
because I deserve you and you deserve me.
Yes. Yes!
[ Cheers and applause ]
I would never forget about you, Snoop.
Yes. I love your style. I love what you bring.
Thank you. I'm anxious to work with you.
You the missing piece in my puzzle, Lauren.
Thank you for joining my team.
Thank you so much. I'm looking forward to it.
I like this.
Me, too. Yeah.
This is great, Snoop. Good -- Good tactics. I like it.
Yeah, it is.
That's nice. Well, welcome to "The Voice,"
and you're in great hands. Thank you.
Do you sing for a living? I do, yes.
And how many of those songs can you do a night at a show?
Well, I don't usually go that hard,
but I can do a four-hour show if I need to.
Let's go. Yeah.
Let's go.
Wow. You've got a very strong voice.
Powerful. Thank you. Thank you.
That means a lot coming from you.
Thank you. You're with the perfect person.
You know, it's so cool, 'cause when you join
Team Snoop, you don't just have a coach now.
You're part of a movement. Absolutely.
I can't wait to see the choices you guys make.
I want to hear Lenny Kravitz. I want to hear like --
Yeah. [ Rock vocalizing ]
Oh, yeah, man. Like, there's so much that you can do.
Man, when those lights turn on out here,
I think you're gonna be formidable.
Thank you. Welcome to "The Voice," Lauren.
And congratulations. Thank you. Thank you.
**
Goodness, Snoop.
You sang your heart out.
I'm one of them babies that enjoy rock music,
that growl, that scream, all of that rock energy.
[ Cheers and applause ]
Having her on my team, it's gonna be a real fly twist.
Way to go. Way to go. Way to go.
You got you a good'un there. Oh, she's good.
You know, I tried doing that today, really,
being sneaky, so I didn't have to go.
You got to be sneaky on this show.
You almost gave us a heart attack.
I did with that -- Y'all was like, "Go!"
Reba: Yes. Reba was like --
I couldn't believe you wouldn't do it.
* This is "The Voice" *
Daly: Welcome back to "The Voice."
Hi!
This is my -- my vocal setup, if you want to take a peek.
It's very dark in there. I know.
I like to be in my feels.
And this is emotional support Scotch.
And that's my setup!
I'm Ava Nat. I'm 18 years old,
and I'm from Garden City, New York.
Our town is like a bubble,
so everyone knows me as a singer for sure.
I did win senior superlative's Most Musical.
It was nice to see I got recognition,
so not just annoying everyone by singing a lot.
Growing up, I was the youngest of three sisters,
so the house was full and loud.
My older sister Sabrina, she was 10 years older than me.
I have a bunch of memories of us just singing kind of for fun
and dancing together.
* How sweet *
When I see videos like that, it makes me so happy.
I just know she'd be proud of who I'm becoming as an artist.
When I was 11 years old,
my sister passed away in a car accident.
Because it was so sudden, I couldn't process it.
* I knew the day would come when we would say goodbye *
As I get older, it's less about the past
and memories of what I missed.
It's more of what she's not gonna be here physically for.
**
But I always feel her around,
and she's pretty bold with her God winks,
which just kind of let me know, like, "I'm here."
We're really open to signs that Sabrina is here.
She loved the color purple.
When Ava was just looking at the college she wanted to go to,
it was the dead of winter.
There was not a flower or green grass to be found.
And as they led us around this path,
there was only one purple flower in bloom.
**
When we look at that, we say, "Wow, that's unmistakable."
Sometimes it catches our breath a little bit,
but ultimately, you kind of settle in
and just feel the comfort of her being here.
If my sister Sabrina could say something to me,
she'd be cheering me on. She'd be really proud.
Like, she would just tell me be myself.
Like, I wouldn't have to worry about necessarily
like how I looked on screen
or like, what people would think of me.
She would just make sure that I was like her baby girl.
Today I'll be singing
"I Love You, I'm Sorry" by Gracie Abrams.
Announcer: Our next artist is entering now.
Entraba.
Ava: I feel like this song is so special
because it shows the vulnerability
of admitting one's mistakes.
But that's something that I've learned from my sister Sabrina,
that it's okay to be vulnerable.
I know for a fact she's going to be out there on the stage
with me, and I'd feel her cheering me on for sure.
**
* Two Augusts ago I told the truth *
* Oh, you didn't like it, you went home *
* You're in your Benz, I'm by the gate *
* Hmmmm *
* Now you go alone, charm all the people you train for *
Good. * You mean, well, but aim low *
* But I'll make it known like I'm getting paid *
* 'Cause that's just the way life goes *
* I push my luck, it shows *
I knew it! I saw it in his eyes. * Thankful you don't *
* Send someone to kill me *
Look, all three. Look at that. * I love you, I'm sorry *
* You were the best, but you were the worst *
* As sick as it sounds, I loved you first *
* Making amends, this -- never ends, I'm wrong again *
* Wrong again, the way life goes *
* Joyriding down our road *
* Lay on the horn to prove that it haunts me *
* I love you, I love you, I'm sorry... *
Come on, Michael!
* ...sorry *
* Hope that I don't won't make it about me *
* I love you *
* I'm sorry *
[ Cheers and applause ]

Hi. You did so well.
What is your name? Where'd you come from?
My name is Ava Nat. I'm 18, and I'm from New York.
18.
Your voice was absolutely beautiful.
It's like butter. It's just so smooth and clear.
Are you into theater?
I did take theater arts,
but I love, like, singer-songwriter pop.
Reba: Yeah. I do also sing jazz.
Oh, interesting.
I wish you would've sung a jazz song.
I know. [ Laughter ]
Your voice is so beautiful.
I'm so happy that these three incredible coaches
turned for you. I just can't wait to steal you.
Thank you. [ Laughter ]
When I heard you singing, I could hear that you were young,
but you were performing as if you were on Broadway.
Yeah. The way you walked into the lyrics,
all of that is show-womanship,
and you had it. A lot of people don't get that
till they get further along into their career.
It would be an honor to be your coach.
Thank you so much.
Hi, Ava. What's up?
You had this ability, kind of like Gracie Abrams,
Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor,
where it's like they're reading out of a journal.
That's such a difficult thing to do,
but it's not difficult if you feel the lyric.
And you've clearly connected with that song.
I could tell by facing the wall. That was very impressive.
Thank you so much for saying that.
That means a lot, really.
So, Ava, who would you like for your coach?
[ Audience shouting ]
**
I just --
**
I wish I could be on all of you guys' teams, but I think
just based on the emotional connection to, like, lyrics,
I think I'm gonna have to go with Niall.
[ Niall Horan's "Meltdown" playing ]
Let's go, Niall. * When it all melts down *
Ava Nat was so good. She just captivated me straight away.
I'm really attracted to those people who can tell a story.
Thank you. This is sick. That was honestly --
My favorite color's purple.
No way! Yes.
I've been waiting for days
for that lovely little singer-songwriter to come out
and speak to me, and I finally got one.
[ Screaming ]
Hello!
Daly: Congratulations.
Too cute.
He's a heartthrob. There's nothing much we can do.
Nothing. Sit there and look pretty.
[ Laughter ]
I don't know how Niall does it.
I'm gonna start doing this.
It won't help.
Michael: I'm a heartthrob.
I'm the Pedro Pascal of jazz music.
Michael: Niall's rocking it today and is a threat
because he truly loves what he's doing.
And when you love what you're doing,
it's really easy to pitch.
Heartthrob, heartthrob. Yeah, that's him.
Yes!
Oh, sit down.
[ Laughter ]
* This is "The Voice" *
Daly: Welcome back.
Crew: Niall OTF. Mark.
Snoop has more treats.
Does he have Skittles here?
Got fruit punch.
Biscuits.
Candy. Potato chips.
Michael: Snoop goes crazy for those rainbow --
Hmm?
Sorry?
Producer: [ Laughing ] Sorry.
And do your teeth, too.
[ Laughs ]
That's what I get! [ Bicycle bell dings ]
Today he was bringing out his own ice cream brand.
Oh!
Reba: So if you're ever hungry...
Oh, wow. ...go over there.
You scream, I scream, we scream, ice cream!
Niall: Snoop Dogg!
My name is Trevor Hewitt. I'm 39 years old,
and I'm from Chesnee, South Carolina.
* No, there ain't no bugs on me *
I actually run a pest control business.
Me and my father started that together,
and we've been doing that for about 13 years.
So I get people call me 3:00, 4:00 in the morning,
"I seen a spider! I seen a spider!"
And I tell them, you know, we'll be out there tomorrow.
You know, you gotta relax.
"Hewitt can do it," baby.
That's my slogan. "Hewitt can do it."
I started singing when I was 10, 11, 12 years old.
I was the only guy in chorus for four or five years straight.
I got made fun of a bunch, like, man, what do --
You need to be playing football, man.
You're too big to be singing.
I went on to play with a band from around our way.
They're called the Marshall Tucker Band.
Big Southern rock guys, and got to go on the road with them.
I'd sing four or five songs before they would get on stage,
and then they'd let me get up there
and play the whole entire show with them.
But rock star lifestyle just wasn't for me.
I didn't like being away from my family.
Say hey. Hi!
I've been playing Mr. Dad for the last six years.
Ah! These guys are crazy.
Trevor: I help change diapers every day.
I help put the babies down every day.
I rock my kids to sleep every night.
I just love more than anything just being a dad.
It's time. I've been chasing music for the last 20 years,
and I've had some ups. I've had some downs.
Announcer: Our next artist is entering now.
Alright, alright, alright.
Trevor: But I'm just ready to be on a national stage.
And I'm gonna give it every single thing I got.
Come on, baby.
**
* I've been thinking 'bout my thoughtless words *
* And I know just how much they must have hurt *
* But I take it back *
* Yeah, won't you let me take it back *
* Woah what I wouldn't do to be your lover again *
* All I want to do is touch your skin, yeah *
Come on.
* If I had you right here right now I’d *
* Tell you, tell you, tell you, tell you *
* Don’t you know that I still love you *
* And you know that I'm so alone *
* I don't know why I told you *
Hit it, hit it, hit it. * That I didn't need you *
* Can't you see that *
* Baby *
* I was wrong *
* Yeah *
**
[ Cheers and applause ]
**
Oh. What's your name? Where you from?
My name is Trevor Hewitt, and I am from South Carolina.
Oh, my gosh.
I got people in Union, South Carolina.
You know where that's at? Yes, sir, I do.
South Cackalacky, huh? That's right.
So, you know, this opportunity that you just had right now,
you never know who's watching.
You got a hell of a voice, a hell of a sound.
I feel like if you was to come back and do it again,
you would definitely get picked. Mm-hmm.
You keep up the great work, and thank you for singing for us.
Thank you, Snoop.
Michael: Listen, I love your voice.
It's weird. I'm a little bit jealous,
because I always wanted to have it,
And then I go, like, "I'm gonna go real raspy,"
and then it comes out like [Vocalizes sweetly]
I just want to say this. Keep your head up, my brother.
You're a tremendous singer.
You belong on stages, making people happy.
Today's not your day. It doesn't mean your day ain't coming.
Thank you for being here, Trev.
Thank you, Michael.
Give it up for Trevor, everybody.
[ Cheers and applause ]
Trevor was a no chair turn
but had this great raspy voice and a lot of potential.
One of those guys that you hope comes back.
Not my favorite when you have to tell people no.
I haven't pushed my button in a while.
And I think at this point in the competition,
I'm looking for something really specific
that I can take to the finals.
I am jealous, by the way, of people that have that growl.
And sometimes if I get too excited,
you know, I'd want to sing "Twist and Shout"
or something where I was screaming.
And I'll do it, and I'll have no voice.
You're talking about going back to the '60s.
[ Whispering ] I know I'm old.
I know.
* This is "The Voice" *
Daly: Welcome back to "The Voice."
Hi, "The Voice." I'm Teo Ramdel.
I'm 34 years old, and I'm from Tijuana, México.
[ Mariachi music plays ]
Life in Tijuana -- it's colorful, fun,
beautiful people.
And we have a lot of beautiful music.
Mexican culture, it's amazing.
I grew up in Tijuana, was happy,
but at the same time, it was so, so hard.
Grew up with a single mom, four kids --
me and my three sisters.
My mom -- she used to work overnight.
All the time, she fight for us.
When I was a teenager, Tijuana --
it was really dangerous.
My mom -- she tried to protect us from everything.
She'd tell us, "Smoking, drinking -- never do that.
Never be around with bad people."
It was really hard childhood, but music changed my life.
[ Singing in Spanish ]
I started to sing in church choir and in the school.
And it was a lifesaver.
From that moment to this moment, I never stopped to do this.
In July 2023, I moved from Méxicoto LA.
Right now I'm singing in restaurants
and Santa Monica Pier,
fighting for my dreams to get a better life for my family.
It's hard being here without them,
but it's impossible right now.
In March 2024, my mom --
she got a rare medical condition,
and she's unable to walk.
Her life, she all the time was, like, moving, happy,
and see her in a bed
is really, really sad, you know?
[ Crying ] Sorry.
She's really positive person.
Right now, my purpose is just for her, you know?
For my blind audition, I will be singing
"Historia de un Amor" from Luis Miguel.
I'm singing this song for her.
This phrase, "Que le dio luz a mi vida,"
it's really significant for me because when I was a kid,
she all the time gave me that light.
I'm gonna sing it in Spanish.
I hope they can feel me.
If one of the coaches turn around for me,
can you imagine?
Let's get it.
It would be a dream.
Espero que... que se pasa.

* Ya no estás más a mi lado, corazón*

* Apagándola después*
* Ay, qué vida tan obscura*
* Sin tu amor no viviré*
* Siempre fuiste la razón de mi existir*
* Adorarte para mí fue religión*
Whoo! All four. Congratulations.
* En tus besos yo encontraba*
* El calor que me brindaba*
* El amor y la*
* Pasión*
[ Cheers and applause ]
Magnifico!
[ Cheers and applause ]

Reba: Congratulations.
So, what's your name? Where are you from?
My name is Teo Ramdel.
I'm 34. Today is my birthday.
Reba: Happy birthday!
[ Cheers and applause ]
And I'm from Tijuana, México.
Ah! Vamos!
I'm so excited, right now emotional.
Your singing is so... sensual.
It was sexy. Thank you.
I loved it. I was very moved.
I didn't understand a word you said,
but I will find that out later.
Are you a dancer also?
Sure.
[ Laughter ]
Me, too!
The way you used your hands, I thought,
"Oh, he also dances."
It was absolutely beautiful.
Welcome to "The Voice."
Thank you. [ Chuckles ]
Hola, señor.
Hola, señor.
Soy Miguel Burbuja.
[ Laughter ]
Mike, we know you speak Spanish, cuz, but...
Hermano... ...you got three other people on here, cuz.
Quiero una momento con vos.
Ay dios mío!
Listen, my four kids -- they're Latin kids,
and in my house my wife say,
[accent] "I am not going to speak English."
[ Laughter ]
[ Normal voice ] Every day in my house,
we listen to Luis Miguel over and over and over and over.
If you don't join my team, my wife may leave me.
I don't know.
I really hope you consider
being a part of this journey with me, man.
Thank you.
[ Cheers and applause ]
Teo.
Hey, Snoop.
Niall: Ooh!
[ Cheers and applause ]
Oh!
Do you say, "Feliz cumpleaños"?
Gracias. Muchas gracias.
Yeah, Mike, you didn't -- you didn't get that one off.
[ Laughter ]
Did all that talking in Spanish
and didn't even tell him happy birthday.
It's just the small things. I was gonna sing it, Snoop.
I will give you the moment to sing
when your wife leaves you after he joins my team.
[ Laughter ]
But back to you, Teo. Let me just say this, man.
You're not a singer. You're an entertainer,
the way you moved around from side to side.
I have artists on my label that does,
you know, Latin music, so not only do I understand it,
but I'll give you the room to grow,
to learn more about other genres of music,
and also perfect your style of music.
Thank you, Snoop.
Teo, I don't speak a word of Spanish.
Poquito. Oh, un poquito, sí, sí, sí.
But you don't need to understand the language
when you hear a voice like that. I understand feeling.
You know, I sit down and I write songs every day of the week.
I understand how to try and captivate the listener.
And I think you're gonna do that in abundance on this show.
I really hope you choose me.
Thank you.
Okay, so who would you like to pick as your coach?
Viva la México!
[ Cheers and applause ]
All right, all right. We bringin' it out, baby.
Let's go.
[ Cheers and applause ]
Viva la México!
Come on, Bublé!
Viva la México!
Aaaah!
[ Laughs ]
Michael!
Oh!
[ Cheers and applause ]
Way to go, Mikey!
Aaaaah!
Right away, I felt a deep, instant connection.
I think Teo has a voice that can't be defined
by any one genre, especially not locked into
any sort of idiom or language.
I was so hoping that he would pick me.
And I think Teo could be a front runner
to really surprise a lot of people.
* Bublé, Bublé, Bublé, Bublé *
* Bublé *
The competition's getting thick!
Snoop Dogg: Teo -- he was cold. I wanted him bad.
Great job, Mikey!
Michael: I'm gonna really shock you
when the Chinese artist gets up and I start speaking Chinese.
[ Laughter ]
Soon as somebody Latin come on the stage,
he want to get to talking real fast.
[ Speaking gibberish ]
Man, slow down, Mike.
That's a big win.
[ Speaks Spanish ] Wow. That's a big win.
[ Reba laughs ]
Niall: That is a big one.
I speak Spanish, too.
Yes, muy bien.
Buenos noches.
That's fun for me. That was a big'un.
I'm talking to the people.
He reading out a handbook.
