but my body has never given up on me like this.

I'm grateful to God that my sisters are here with me.

So I just got out the hospital.

I couldn't move. I couldn't walk.

I was bent over in fetal position, severely in pain.

They end up pumping me with morphine, making me more sick.

I'm depleted.

I started cramping really bad. - Mm-hmm.

- And I was like, I'm not feeling well.

My stomach swelled up instantly.

And that's when the throwing up and stuff started.

That's why my body kind of went into shock.

- Come to find out, I have two fibroids

that's inside of my uterus.

It's called endometrium.

It's 10-centimeters big, and it's sitting on my ovary.

- You know what the crazy part is?

I've been going through this for years,

and they didn't see it, something so massive.

That's what they do.

They mishandle Black women.

They don't listen to Black women

when they're having medical concerns.

It's why people die all the time in the emergency room.

Do the due diligence yourself.

Do the research.

You have got to take your health in your hands.

- So how are you feeling just, like, for real, for real?

- It's depressing.

And it just kind of-- it makes me go back

to all the unfortunate miscarriages

that I've had over the years. It was defeating the purpose.

'Cause a 10-centimeter mass sitting on top of my ovaries

squishing all of my reproductive organs--

of course I couldn't carry babies.

But now I'm just finding out why.

Nick and I were trying to get pregnant.

We both equally wanted it.

Miscarriages, when the man that you're in love with

is conceiving with everybody--

I felt like I was half a woman.

Do you know the scars that you wear when you go

through public miscarriages? - Yeah.

- And you--people feel like, oh,

well, she can't carry a baby.

- Yeah.

- And my miscarriages were all public.

- Public.

The joke is how many kids he had.

That's not an easy thing.

- And then seeing him have another baby

with somebody else--

and I'm going through all of this, and he knows it.

Maybe I'm not supposed to be a mother.

I still struggle with the idea if I could actually do it.

- As your friend, I wanna be here

to help you go through the process of getting healed

and so you can stop masking and hiding

and pretending you're okay.

Because you're not.

- I'm mentally kind of decompressing

all of the trauma.

Because I carry all my stress in my womb.

And I knew, psychologically, that everything

that was happening was just a side effect of everything

emotionally that I had bottled up inside of me.

That's why I advocate for speaking

to people, going to therapy.

And I didn't do that for myself fast enough.

- Can you freeze your eggs?

- I mean, I wanna have babies.

It's just that I've kind of put it on the back burner.

But now I feel like I have to start to at least freeze them.

- And then they end up finding this big cyst

on my left ovary.

and the other side is, like, 3 centimeters.

Your right side is much smaller.

Pretty significant.

- Like, I'm nonstop nauseous.

And my period came twice this month.

- Is that unusual? - Very unusual.

- It hasn't done that before? - No.

But one, even though it's not big,

it's sitting, like, right on the top of your uterus.

And your cavity is right here.

And you've had miscarriages.

- Is it possible those could have

contributed to miscarriages? Yes.

- With fibroids, it's all about location.

And it's interfering where it naturally would implant

or naturally would grow. - Right.

- And that can cause it to kind of not stay very well.
