So,

F1 Academy qualifying in Singapore saw
wildcard entry Lisa Villard preparing

an excellent session, which sees her
near the front, but it was a

time for Alicia Palmoski. She smacked
the barrier early on, damaging her left

rear suspension, and the regular
frontrunner will be starting at the

the red flag was cleared, everyone was
pushing very hard. We saw a lock -up

Megan Bruce sideways for Leah Block and
a save from Ella Lloyd, but it was title

leader Dorian Pan who was second fastest
and main rival Maya Verg who took pole

position.

The penultimate weekend of racing in F1
Academy 2025 takes place at Marina Bay

in Singapore. Welcome to our coverage
with me, Ben Edwards, as we wait to see

whether a new champion could be crowned
this weekend or will it go all the way

to Las Vegas? We will find out. Dorianne
Pan leads by 20 points in the series

and she'll start the main race on this
challenging street circuit.

Today, on the front row, she's for the
main race. But today, of course, they're

on the top eight reverse. So she'll be
coming from seventh on the grid. Her big

rival, Maya Verg, will be starting from
eighth on the grid. Well, alongside me

is Gary Paffitt, a double German touring
car champion, a very successful junior

single -seater champion in his early
career. Gary, you took titles both in

karting and in junior single -seater
racing.

The fact that this sort of junior single
-seater series for young women to show

what they can do and try and prove
they've got the ability to go forward in

motor racing, you proved that with your
career developing from a very good

start. Yeah, absolutely. And thanks for
giving me the chance to be here.

This junior career is so important for
them to prove what they can do. It's so

cutthroat. The person that goes and wins
this championship, that's all they

remember, who won the championship.

And the springboard that gives you to go
on and further your development into

different championships is huge. So,
yeah, the pressure on these young ladies

today and going into Las Vegas is huge.

So we've got a little delay, as we can
see.

We've got a delay because they're doing
a little bit of track work at the

moment. So the drivers are actually not
in the cars yet, even though they would

have been due to get going. And in fact,
we've just been told the formation lap

is slightly later again. It's now gone
to quarter past three local time in

Singapore, rather than the race starting
at three. So we've got a little bit of

a delay, a chance for us to just catch
up on some of the stories, some of the

news that's been going on. And it is
lovely to see F1 Academy at Singapore is

back here.

of course, and you can see it's
entertaining, an opportunity for the

really get involved in this. It's early
in the day in terms of the racing, of

course. The Formula One cars will be
coming out a little bit later on.

Lisa Billard there, you're looking at,
that's one we will mention. She was 16

only three weeks ago.

She's a wildcard entry, and she did an
absolutely superb job in qualifying

yesterday, and we'll go into that in a
little bit more detail soon. But, yeah,

really, really interesting to see how
this all goes. and particularly with the

battle for the championship that's going
on. As I mentioned, Dorian Pound with

that 20 -point advantage over Maierberg,
but Maierberg out -qualified her

fractionally. It was very, very close.
The time difference is remarkable.

So let's have a little bit of a look at
how the grid will go for the first race

of the weekend at Singapore.

At the back, Alicia Palmowski, who had
that off, and Nicole Havrida. They're

both starting together on the back row.
Let's see where Palmowski can go. go.

Courtney Crone starts 16th. Megan Bruce
in 15th. Well, she's not a wildcard.

She's replacing Ava Adelaide Nostiades
this weekend.

Rafaela Ferreira starts 14th. And Tina
Hausman starting in 13th position.

Joanne Chiconte in 12th. And Nina
Gaetman, who's done well in the past and

win recently, 11th. Chloe Chong,
regularly 10th on the grid. She's 10th

time. Alba Larson, just outside the top
eight, reverse in 9th position. And

there's the reverse. So Maia Verga was
fasted yesterday. today. She has to

eighth. Dorianne Pan, the championship
leader, starts seventh. She was second

fastest. Third fastest, Chloe
Chamberson. She starts sixth on this

race. Ella Lloyd starts fifth. A British
driver who's been doing very well this

season. There is Lisa Billard, who has
qualified brilliantly on her wildcard

entry. Emma Felbermayer, third on the
grid. And then the front row sees

Nobels and Leah Block. And both of them
for the...

Art team, the ART team, and they're
going to be alongside each other. So

got a very interesting chat going on
down on the grid as well. And, yeah,

Val, who used to be at Mercedes, of
course, and chatting away to

the managing director, Susie Wolfe, the
Academy chief.

is keeping an eye on what the plans are
here. I don't know what they're actually

discussing right now.

Who knows? It could be anything,
couldn't it, with them two? But Susie's

an incredible job with the F1 Academy
just to try and push this championship.

And the circuits and the venues that
these drivers get to race at is

in this championship.

Yeah, it is. What a wonderful venue this
is in Singapore.

It is very much a street circuit.

It's not easy.

challenging circuit, they're tight and
twisty in a lot of areas, but with this

reverse grid, Gary, what do you think
with top eight reverse?

it makes it more likely we're going to
see some overtaking, because overtaking

is tricky, but it's not impossible here
at Singapore.

No, it isn't. So there's some long
straights. For a street circuit, as you

it's quite a long circuit. We've got 19
corners.

It's nearly five kilometres. It's a long
street circuit. So there are some long

straights where there's good chances for
overtaking.

With these cars, there's no DRF like
Formula 1, so it's not easy to overtake.

But if you get in the slipstream and
you've got a better pace, and especially

for the two championship rows, you know.
Pan and Veg, both starting on the

fourth row, will certainly be looking to
make progress forward in this race. And

that could really make a difference in
the championship battle if they're able

to really make good progress.

Yeah, well, there is Dorianne Pan. We're
taking a look at her now. So the series

leader. And if she can get a 40 -point
advantage at the end of today, then she

will be champion, effectively.

She's done a fantastic job. 21 -year
-old French racer. And she has had three

wins. She's had six podiums. And from
seventh on the grid, which is where she

starts today, she's had a couple of
fourth places, actually, funnily enough.

finished fourth from starting in
seventh. So that's been a good move on

reverse grid.

Ella Lloyd, she's also been impressive.

She is in her first full season, unlike
some of those like Dorian Pan and Maya

Berg who are in their second season. And
you only get to do two seasons in F1

Academy when you get the opportunity to
do this.

The second year is the key one. And
there it is, key for Maya Berg. She had

really tough time at one of the events.
year when technical problems just sort

of put her out from scoring when she had
been at one point championship leader

that dropped her back down and so she is
now trying to get back to where dorian

pan is i think it's quite fun that
they're going to be side by side both

races so on this one they're going to be
side by side on row four and tomorrow

they'll be side by side on row one Yeah,
exactly. And I think we saw yesterday

in qualifying that the pair of them are
incredibly fast and they're up for this

fight. You know, you look at the times
from yesterday's qualifying, like I say,

they both beat the lap record in
qualifying yesterday. And Dorianne

having to abort her push lap and, you
know, being able to do that lap time and

nearly take pole position on the second
lap of the tyres was incredible. So

they're both really, really confident
and pushing really hard.

Aurelia Nobels is starting second on the
grid with this reverse grid, and I hope

she has a good one because she's had a
few DNFs, not always her fault this

We've got a chance to have a catch -up
with her. We spoke to her just a little

bit earlier over the weekend about the
process of heat training here in

Singapore.

So I train with a lot of jackets on at
the gym. I did a lot of cardio.

Well, because of last year, I already
knew how to deal with it.

But yeah, just jackets and the gym.

Aurelia Nobel's talking about that. And
the Brazilian, she's had a bit of an up

-and -down season. I'm really pleased to
see her starting on the front row this

time. She had a best finish of sixth,
starting from third on a reverse grid

earlier on this season in Miami.

That was the event where we didn't get a
second race that weekend because of the

terrible rain. We've certainly got a
good dry weather here today.

As I mentioned, track temperature has
come up, up to 52 degrees.

Humidity, 53.

So it's not huge. Huge, but it's still
going to be pretty hot out there, isn't

it? Yeah, as you can see, the heat haze
coming off the circuit. Yesterday in

free practice, it was quite overcast, so
it definitely wasn't anywhere near as

hot. So obviously qualifying was later
in the day when it was dark and under

lights, so very different conditions.

But, you know, the free practice session
yesterday morning was when they would

try to have done their race run in
similar conditions.

But like I say, it's a lot hotter today.
You know, the temperature's gone up.

The air temperature's up to 32 degrees.

So they'll definitely be feeling it in
the car. And as you say, they've all

doing some aspect of heat training to
prepare for this weekend because it

does take a lot out of you. Yeah, I
agree. Chloe Chong, you're just looking

we saw Alba Larsson a moment ago.
They're both on the fifth row, so Alba

starting ninth. Chloe Chong starting in
tenth place.

And the best from tenth that she's done
so far is actually to finish tenth in

one of the races. She's twelfth overall.

She's another who's... had three DNFs
this year. Let's hope that she doesn't

too many of those. Nina Gaidman, we've
just heard that the start of the race is

being delayed a little further, by the
way.

Nina Gaidman, she started down in 11th,
which is a little bit disappointing. She

won the reverse grid race at Zandvoort
last time out. A month ago, we had the

event at Zandvoort, and she won it on
her birthday. It really was wonderful to

see that.

And Nina Gaidman, who is...

dutch and so she was on home event and
she won the race um lovely to see didn't

qualify quite so well it makes such a
difference if you get into the top eight

if you're in eighth place and the
reverse grid suddenly puts you on pole

course if you miss out on the top eight
when you're ninth tenth eleventh those

are the ones we've just been looking at
a bit further down you've got some work

to do but the one who's got loads of
work to do gary right down bottom right

there is alicia palmowski who is very
talented 19 year old british racer she's

going to have a lot of work to do from
the back there.

We'll have to see what she can do. She
can't take she's turning 12 but yeah

Palmoski from the back.

Yeah it's going to be a real challenge.
Like we say you can overtake Grant here

but it is still a street circuit so it
is still still very challenging and

although she's obviously very quick in
free practice she was third so she was

really looking very strong but in
qualifying quite early just seemed to

bit too much speed into turn five and
caught the wall on the outside and yeah

that was very early in qualifying so she
didn't really get a competitive lap in

so um yeah she'll be looking to probably
capitalize on on any mistakes by people

ahead you know if there's a safety car
try and close up um and just make as

progress as she can because clearly
she's uh she's very quick absolutely

bruce is a new name this weekend uh in
for avagnostiadis who cannot race

this weekend unfortunately um megan
bruce started out in catram academy back

2023 we caught up with her earlier this
weekend to talk about expectations.

My expectations this weekend is just to
keep progressing and improving.

I've never been to a street track
before, so it's all going to be a very

experience, but I'm really looking
forward to it, and if we can just keep

improving each session with the limited
time we had before, then it should be

good and hopefully aim for some points.

Yeah, being around F1 and F1 Academy is
quite different to what I've done before

in GB4.

But it's all good learning and hopefully
good prep to prove my seat for next

year.

It's been an amazing week for her,
getting told on Monday that she would

chance to do this event.

Poor Eva Agnostiad is not able to
compete because she's got a damaged

So it's amazing that she's got this
opportunity.

Megan Bruce is 15th on the grid for this
one. I think they had a slight

technical problem in qualifying because
she was in the pits for a bit longer

than would have been ideal.

Yeah, we didn't get exactly the answer
to what that was. But as you say, she

didn't get as many laps as she would
have liked. in qualifying, which was a

shame. And to be honest, if she'd found
a bit more lap time, she could have been

close to that top 10 actually in
qualifying. She wasn't that far away. So

compared to a lot of the drivers that
have done all of the championships so

I think she did a fantastic job. And as
she said there, it was her first time on

a street circuit. And the challenge that
comes with racing on street circuits is

huge compared to when you're normally
racing on race circuits. You don't have

the margin of the extra kerbs and grass
and gravel if you make a mistake.

You push a bit harder and make a
mistake.

You're into a concrete wall or an arm
barrier and that's kind of the end of

session. So, yeah, for a first time on a
street circuit. And as you said, to be

here in front of all the F1 teams, you
know, they're here in the paddock

watching all the sessions that goes on.
So the extra added pressure of that is,

yeah, it can't be underestimated.

When you were racing in your younger
years, you were doing what was called

Formula Vauxhall Junior.

I mean, in many ways, it was a very
similar...

level to what we look at with gp4
formula four cars yeah and you were

those in the uk you won the winter
series you won one of the series

championships and then you won the whole
championship so so learning at the

single seeders but Did you get onto
street tracks very often? Because in the

there are not so many street tracks. So
when did you start getting into them?

Yeah, no, I didn't at all, actually.
When I was very young, it was always the

race circuits, the British race
circuits, and we didn't have any street

at all.

And even when I went into racing in
Formula 3, I didn't do any of the...

Kind of one -off races in a street
circuit.

We've just got a shot of the guys still
working on the Armco barrier. It looks

like they're welding part of the barrier
there. I think there was an incident in

the Porsche race earlier on, or the
qualifying session earlier on, which has

damaged that barrier.

So, yeah, the start has now been
delayed.

It's confirmed now it will start at 13
.20. So we are just under 10 minutes

from the start formation lap.

But, yeah, going back to that, no, I
didn't have any street.

circuit experience until I ended up
racing in DTM, actually. So, no, I

get to do that at this very young age.
Do you think it is an advantage for

to be out on different types of these
major circuits, you know, Formula One

circuits, but not just...

someone like Zandvoort last time out,
but on some of these challenging street

circuits. Is that a way to learn as you
develop your career?

I think it has two things. I think it
gives the drivers a great opportunity to

learn because no doubt through their
career at some point they're going to be

a street circuit.

I think on the other way, it gives the
teams and prospective employees down the

line an idea of if they can race on
street circuits because it's quite a

different atmosphere, quite a different
way of approaching a circuit.

approaching racing and and that's what
we see in a lot of different

championships that there are a lot more
street circuits coming you look at f1

now how many street circuits there are
on the f1 circuit and um yeah you need

be able to do that and need to be able
to adapt to how it is you know the grip

level is so different in different
corners and you've got to be careful of

the white lines the changes in track the
bumps that you get and having that

experience at a young age is going to
put you in a great position absolutely

you're looking at maya verg right now
who will be starting on poll tomorrow

starts from for this reverse grid the 21
year old from the Netherlands who had

such a superb race

double in Zandvoort last time out and
taking the victory in the main race from

that pole position.

She has done a great job, but as I said,
she had that technical problem earlier

on in the season when they were in
Canada, and that really has hurt her

little bit, but she has not given up.
She's still got the chance to put Dorian

Pan under pressure for the title in this
second and last year, her and Dorian

Pan fighting to try and become champion,
to follow up from Abby Pulling, who won

it. last year in 2024, and from Marta
Garcia, who won it in 2023.

And it really is a major event, a major
championship to win, because you then

get supported to go up to another level
of motorsport. So we will see what

happens. There is Alicia Palmowski, as I
mentioned, who will be starting right

down at the back. And yet she's got a
lot of talent.

She's had that victory already this
year. But now she's going to have to

hard in both races, because remember,
the grid for the second... The only

will be the top eight. Everybody else
will be in the same positions.

So that's going to be an interesting
one.

So there's been an interesting session
just recently.

They've done some testing for rookies
for next year, actually. And that has

a great opportunity.

Let's hear what Rafaela Ferreira had to
say about the rookie testing.

I think testing Navarra was really good
for us.

We are really quick there.

We could use that day to try new things
for the car, to try new setups.

So I think this is going to be really
useful here in Singapore while we test

during Navarra. And I'm really excited
too.

Yeah, it was really strange to see
somebody testing my car. I was just

car on the track and I was not in my
car. This was super strange. But I think

it's really good what F1 Academy is
doing with rookie tests.

because we just arrived here with no
test, we didn't know the car and now

have the chance to know how it works and
how the team works here and it's really

nice.

Yeah, so you're talking about Navarra,
where the regulars were able to do some

testing there, but then the rookies, who
are being judged really for next year

as to whether they're going to be coming
in. And we've got two of the rookies in

this race, who were both in the top four
in both sessions, which was impressive.

So Lisa Billard, who I mentioned, the
French girl, a 16 -year -old, she is

impressive, what she's done in
qualifying.

And she's been competing, I believe, in
karting since she was around seven years

old. Megan Bruce as well. She was also
in that top four in both sessions in

Navarra. So they've both got
opportunities to see what they can

the racing situation.

You're looking at Leah Block here who
will be starting from pole position

effectively in this reverse grid race.
So she was eighth fastest yesterday but

she starts from pole and she's looking
for her first win because she took her

first podium last time out in Zandvoort.
So there is a chance here. Yeah, she's

got a great chance starting from pole on
a street circuit.

Leah Block is someone that's come from
off -road and rallycross and a different

discipline, so she's doing a fantastic
job to get to the grips with these

Formula cars on the street circuit.

Absolutely. So we will see how that all
develops. So we've got it starting to

clear now. Everybody into their cars as
we are beginning to build up to the

start of this 14 -lap race. And we will
see how it goes.

Interestingly, Leah Block and her
teammate for the ART team, Aurelia

that front row, they've not scored
brilliantly this year. It's a top team.

There are five teams involved in running
these F1 Academy cars.

But they've only got... scored some 28
points, so they're a long way down the

list. It's the Prema team, which could
actually be on for winning the team's

championship this weekend.

We shall see if that does actually
happen.

Dorianne Pan, who is also leading the
drivers' series, she drives for the

team. And they've done a lot of great
work so far this year. But, yeah, for

team, we're both on the front row for
this reverse grid race. Yes, you don't

score as many in the reverse grid race.
You get ten points for the race victory,

eight points for second, moving down to
eighth place. You score a point.

More points when you get into the main
race tomorrow.

But all points matter, don't they, Gary?
Yeah, they do, exactly. It could come

down to one or two points at the end of
the championship.

So every point that you can score will
matter.

And if you look at the lap time from
yesterday, there was only... The...

As we see a shot of the stickers on
there, but the repair is done and the

vehicles are out of the way. So the
safety guard there going past that area.

it looks like we are going to be good to
go. And the formation that will start

at 15,

20 local time. So that's just in three
minutes time.

But, yeah, going back to the race ahead.

Yeah, the top three from yesterday. So
Berg, Pan and Chambers were the only

to break the two minutes for barrier.
And they were significantly quicker than

them. than the other cars. They were
exceptionally qualifying.

So if they can have that pace in the
race, they certainly are going to be

looking to go forward. So I think we're
going to be seeing some good racing and

some good overtaking, hopefully, for
them three.

I was astonished at how close the times
were.

Well, you're going around such a long
lap, and you're doing two minutes, and

they're separated by just hundredths of
a second. I find that absolutely

amazing. Yeah, it is incredible.
Obviously, the cars are all identical

drivers, but as you say, when you've got
nearly five... kilometer lap with 19

corners on a street circuit as well to
be separated by yeah i think it was 400

of a second in the end um is is
incredible it really is incredible well

see how it all works once they actually
all get underway and of course the start

of the race is always an absolutely
crucial moment trying to get down into

one and leah block there on the outside
she's got that opportunity she's got

that slight advantage is she going to be
able to move up in the points as well

She's currently ninth in the points.
There is Lisa Billard, who I mentioned,

who's the wildcard entry. We've only had
one wildcard entry score points. That

was Esme Gosterman last time in
Zandvoort, where she finished seventh.

I think there's a chance that Lisa
Billard could well be scoring better,

just in this race, but in the main race
tomorrow, because, yes, she'll be fifth

on the grid, one place further back. But
in some ways, she's in the ideal place,

because she's...

Not too far down the field.

She's in a position where she can just
sort of see how it operates around her

today and tomorrow and learn from it all
as well.

Yeah, exactly. She's got a great
position today to score some points from

she is.

And she's there because she was quick.
She was quick all day yesterday in the

free practice session and then in
qualifying as well. So I think she's got

great chance of scoring some points. And
I think for her today will just be a

case of just getting through the whole
race and just getting the experience.

again, tomorrow she can go. and score
some good points in the feature race.

She won the Women's French F4
Championship this year.

It's a series for everybody, so French
F4, but they have the women's section as

well, a female trophy title.

She won the female trophy in various
races, but she ended up winning the

title in the French F4 just a couple of
weeks ago, in fact. So she's done very,

very well.

Definitely one that we need to keep an
eye on who could well be in F1 Academy

next year, I would think, judging by the
sort of pace we've seen from her

already. So we are getting ready for the
formation lap in just a moment. And

this will be a very important lap for
them to just get a feel for the track.

Gary, as you know, on a street circuit
like this at Singapore, it'll be

different every time you go out and
you've got to get a feel for it as

as you can. But when you're on a
formation lap.

That can be challenging, can't it? It
can be, yeah. And as you say, yesterday

free practice, the temperatures were a
bit cooler.

The last time they drove these cars was
yesterday evening in the kind of night

qualifying session.

So the track is going to be very
different now. As you say, the track

temperature has come up to 52 degrees.
So this lap is all about, one, cleaning

the tyres because they've gone round to
the grid on these tyres and they've got

some pick -up on them. So cleaning the
tyres and getting them up to temperature

so you can get off the line as quick as
you can. As we go on board with...

Dorian Pan in Turn 1. Here, which is
quite a good Turn 1 here off the line

because there's a bit of room on the
right -hand side, so cars can run wide

through Turn 1 and 2 and keep out of
trouble.

When you get down to Turn 4 into Turn 5,
then, yeah, it gets a bit tighter at

that point.

Well, we're getting them underway, and
we will be starting the race very soon.

Let's hear from the top three on this
reverse grid today, starting with Emma

Felbermayer starting in third.

I'm feeling confident.

As I said, it wasn't everything I had
time -wise.

So I think we can go further and
overtake.

So for the first session ever here, I've
never driven hair so far.

I'm quite satisfied.

I started qualifying, starting P2
tomorrow and P7 on Sunday.

I am really excited.

I think we're in a good position to
fight for a podium and good points, so

give it my best.

It's a pole, and a pole is a pole, so
we're going to do our best tomorrow.

I track that historically there's not
much passing going on, so I feel pretty

good if I can get away the line and just
keep it in that first position.

So there we go, our top three. And
interestingly, of those three that we

from, Emma Felbermayer, who starts in
third place.

in the Calbert livery there. You can see
number five.

She has taken a victory on a reverse
grid in Montreal from third on the grid.

So can she do it again? The two in front
of her, Lea Bloch on the pole position,

you're riding with Lea right now, has
not taken a victory yet, nor has Aurelia

Nobels, but Emma Felbermayer has from
third. But it's very unpredictable with

this reverse grid and with the full race
distance coming up, the 14 laps,

they're going to have... to try and keep
it together. So they're getting a bit

of a feel now. Tyres will be warming up.

They're trying to work out where the
grip is, where it isn't. It's actually

looking nice and clean. The way they
prepared this truck is good. It is,

mean, they do a great job of kind of
sweeping the circuits.

Overnight, you get some dust fall.
There's some trees around the circuit,

get all that cleared out the way.
There's been a session already today

Porsches, so some of the circuit's been
cleaned by that.

And, yeah, the circuit's looking in
great condition, and the driver's just

weaving there to try and... warm the
tires the rear tires are pretty easy to

warm up you can just spin the wheels and
just get temperature in them tires the

front tires are more difficult because
you're not really loading them at high

speed it's all low speed weaving and it
doesn't really build any temperature so

for these drivers going down into turn
one the biggest problem is just trying

not to lock the front wheels you see
that a lot just locking a front wheel

turn one so that's going to be the thing
to watch out for for these drivers not

to push too hard down into turn one
Absolutely.

Well, let's see how this is going to go.

Susie Wolfe keeping a close eye on it
all, of course.

And Dorianne Pan, who is the
championship leader, who could wrap up

this weekend if it all goes to plan. But
it would need some issues for some of

her rivals, but particularly for Maya
Verg in the Ferrari colors.

Ferrari backed Maya Verg, who is going
to be ahead of her on the grid tomorrow,

but one behind her on the grid on this
reverse grid. Right. We are getting all

set then. for the first race for F1
Academy at Singapore in 2025.

Two races over the course of the
weekend.

The first one, the reverse grid for the
top eight in qualifying.

Green flag from the back. We're all set
to go racing.

Let's see how this is going to go.

Light town, F1 Academy underway, and
both front rows getting off reasonably

well. Lea Bloch from top position, but
actually is a better start from Aurelia

Nobles, who's going to go down the
inside.

Nobles trying to take that lead off, but
Lea Bloch goes very wide. We've got a

whole bunch of them. Emma Lloyd going
off there as well, and trying to take

advantage of this. Emma Felbermayer from
third.

Well, she didn't run wide, I don't
think, but look at the battles. There

Maya Virg's already making progress in
the Ferrari colours. She's doing really

well. Yeah, Maverick already up to, I
think, his fifth place there from eighth

on the grid. So an incredible start, and
obviously made a couple of places on

Dorian Pan. But as you said, the front
row, both of them going very wide into

turn one. I think that they'll probably
get away with that on the first lap, but

it was wider than I've seen people there
before.

So Maverick trying to come down the
inside.

Ella Lloyd is right behind her, and then
it's Dorian Pan.

So remember, Maverick versus Dorian Pan.
It's the battle in the... Oh, and that

did look like Nicole Havrida making a
mistake, whether she actually... made

contact in the background i don't know
we've got a yellow flag yeah i think she

did make contact with the barrier just
yeah she has there so she's in the

sidewall there and i expect that might
be a safety car but we'll wait to see if

she can get out of that but i would have
thought there'd be damage to the car

but as you said maya vergs had a great
first couple of corners getting herself

up into fifth place already oh that is a
shame let's listen And the Nobles are

just saying that she needs to get back
to position.

Well, we'll have a look at the replay in
just a moment. But let's just work out

what's going on. Lisa Billard has lost
out quite a lot of places, by the way.

The rookie, the wildcard entry, she's
dropped down to eighth place.

And Megan Bruce is down towards the
back.

I'm not quite sure what happened there
on that last bit of the lap. But the

safety car is out. So everybody is just
going nice and calmly.

And they will have to get this.

car out of the way to get the race
underway so Nicole Havrida it's a little

disappointing that she's she's uh that's
another non -finish I think this is

going to end up being her fourth non
-finish of the year sadly yeah it was uh

unfortunate we need to go back and look
at the replay but it looks like she just

uh missed uh misjudged the braking point
the grip level into that corner and uh

just just ran wide and was uh it wasn't
a big impact but obviously enough to do

enough damage to the car um as we uh
look at the standings um that we've got

as you say the incident determine aria
nobel saying that she was ahead um they

both took to the runoff a similar amount
so i think that there's um you know if

she'd stayed on track and leah had gone
off track i think she would have had um

certainly something to say but uh since
they both went off track i think that

she might not get that place back but i
will wait to see yeah that's a very good

point it was and usually on that as you
say lap one first corner it is very much

recognized as a racing incident to a
large extent so

We are going to have a little bit of a
look at the start again because it was a

challenging time.

Vierblok just did not get off the line
particularly well, did she, from pole

position. So that's the view from the
back, but it was up front that it was

going a little bit challenging. So on
the left, Vierblok, there's no doubt,

Aurelia Noble's on the right.

Any way that can get better, and then
side by side. Yeah, I think they're

exactly side by side into here. They
both pushed wanting to be the first.

Aurelia Noble's definitely slightly
ahead.

But yeah, they've both taken a long way
off the track. The same with Ella Lloyd

there as well, further back that's
blotted into, I think she's into P6 at

moment. As you're on board with Lisa
Billard now, let's see what she does

because she lost a few places on the
first lap heading down into turn one.

Yep, she's made the corner. Chloe
Chambers has gone off track on the

around her and we see Ella Lloyd coming
in.

And Maia Virg on the inside. So she's
just lost a few places by, I think,

not aggressive enough, probably, in the
first couple of corners. Yeah, a little

bit cautious. But to be fair, this is
her first race start in F1 Academy.

Yes, she's been racing in F4 in France.
Now, this was Maia Virg, who, as you

say, did a great job here. There's her
big rival, Dorianne Pan, on the right.

And that worked perfectly for her.

Yeah, exactly. She just got in front of,
on the inside of Dorianne Pan.

And Lisa Billard there, going through
turn two, Maia Virg managed to get down

the inside.

And as you see, a few...

from Leah so yeah she didn't quite get
off the line as well as the cars around

her but very much side by side going
down into turn one and they both went

deep into turn one I mean used all of
the runoff nearly up to the tire wall

there so what the heck happened at C1
she just went straight and I had to go

straight

They're both complaining at each other.
They both went straight and they both

wanted to battle and break late. That's
exactly what you were saying earlier

about breaking late.

But unfortunately, Nicole Havrida lost
it. Let's listen in.

Oh, she's apologising. Yeah,
understandable.

I think, going back to Leah Block's
point, I think she's exactly right

she... couldn't have made the first
corner even if she tried because because

yeah the nobles went deep anyway so if
Leah had tried to make the corner they

would have made contact anyway so she
was avoiding contact so as I say I think

she'll I think she'll get away with that
one because yeah she she was just

following what the car on the inside of
her did

OK, well, the safety car is ending. It's
pulling away from them now, and it's up

to Leah Block to decide when to go for
it, when to restart.

And she's under pressure, as we know,
from Aurelia Nobles. They are teammates.

They know each other very well.

So we shall see how this goes. They both
race for the ART team, and we will see

whether they can keep it clean. Aurelia
Nobles in second place in the Puma

-backed machine. Up again.

The Williams -supported Leah Block up
ahead of her. But watch out also, as I

mentioned, for Emma Felbermayer in the
Thalberbach road -in -run machine.

The green one, number five. She did a
good start. Now she's a bit closer than

she would have been otherwise. And
they're all close as we get ready for

restart. And they are going for it now.
So even before they get down to the

final couple of corners, understandably,
they have gone for it. Leah Block. And

actually, she's done a really good job.
She's floored it. And look at the gap

she's already managed to make. Yeah,
she's got a really good gap. She just

on the power there quite early through
16 .17 and has managed to pull a couple

of car lengths. As we see, Chloe
Chambers just going on the outside

challenging for third place. She's gone
off the track and she has to go around

this ballard as we see an incident
further back. Lisa Billard, that was a

fixture that was contact.

And as you say, Chloe Chambers, they've
got the yellow flag in sector one, but

Chloe Chambers suddenly making a lot of
progress. And Maya Verg has really...

struggled on that particular position,
but still in the battle here, of course.

Yeah, so Chloe Chambers went wide in
turn one there.

But you have to go around the bollard to
be able to come back on the track. And

then she did that and then made the move
on Felbermayr into turn five. As Chloe

Chambers locks up, is she going to make
the corner?

Wow, really close there. She's run wide.
She's lost the place, and Mayerberger

has moved up another place, which puts
three cards now between her and Dorian

Pan.

I understand why Chloe James is going
this hard for it, because she had a

disappointing time with a technical
issue getting off the grid last time,

she needs points. But you're on board
with Dorian Pan, who's being sensible.

She's now trying to get past Emma
Felbermaier. Oh, careful.

But Dorianne Pan just needs to keep
scoring some points. She won't be too

worried if Maia Verg's up ahead,
physically in a reverse grid race,

points difference won't be huge. Main
thing is to keep going. Just be in

And Dorianne Pan currently in seventh
place. So, Leah Block is our race

Aurelia Nobels. But behind them, Maia

Verg, who was fastest in qualifying.

And Chambers is... really putting the

Yeah, this is the restart. This was
Chloe Chambers going down the outside of

Felbemeyer here, just going wide off the
track and Maya Verga on the inside

trying to make up a place there. But
we'll see Chloe Chambers come back on

track on the outside and actually
getting back past.

Yeah, as we see. And further back, we
can see Billard there just making

and getting...

bun around into turn one on that
restart. So a real shame for Lisa

Oh, that is a shame.

You know, this is her first event and
it's just part and parcel. Oh, and

Ferreira's going very stopped now.

Rafaela Ferreira. She had a problem with
the car yesterday. Oh, she's got it

going again. So whether she's had a
little off and then got going, I'm not

but at least that means we're not back
into safety car, thankfully.

Yeah, exactly. We'll keep running. And
what I want to point out as well, we

Alicia Palmowski now up to P10 from P18
on the grid. So as we said, she's going

to be wanting to make progress and has
made really good moves through the field

and is now sitting in P10. So a couple
more places and she could be scoring

points today. Yeah, you're absolutely
right. That really is very, very handy

indeed. And a safety car early on when
you've made some progress, it always is

quite useful.

back on board with Dorianne Pan, who is
running in seventh place, trying to get

past Emma Felbermeyer. Now, where can
she find the space? Because around this

track, it is so tight and twisty. There
are only a few...

areas where you can really go for it
where you need a bit of a toe and then

that leg braking yeah you need the areas
where there's a long straight where you

can get a toe and then a bit of a
braking area at the end where you're

stopping the car so here we're heading
up to turn 10 there's nowhere here but

soon she'll be looking to try and get
close to her out of turn 14 so she can

a run down to 16 so through this section
here over the bridge into turn 13 now

she wants to be really close out of here
to try and get a run down towards Turn

14. She's really close, but lost a
little bit of traction out of that

But let's see if she can make a move on
the way down to Turn 14. I don't think

she's going to be close enough this time
around.

No, you're right. I don't think she'd be
sensible enough to dive up the inside

at this point. She didn't have quite the
straight line speed that she would have

liked. Remember, these cars are all
identical.

They're a slightly different set -up by
the teams. They're always looking to try

and give the drivers exactly what they
want in terms of feel. Maya Berg still

third place. holding off Chloe Chambers.
That is another good battle that's

enjoyable to keep an eye on and they
need to not take each other off because

Vergh and Chambers are the main
challengers for the title up against

you're looking at right now. Number 28,
the Mercedes -backed championship leader

at this stage. You're now on board with
Chloe Chambers and Chloe set fast this

lap briefly and then Maya Vergh and now
Palmosky. So you said Palmosky has come

all the way from the back up into 10th
place and she's now... set fastest lap

she's now closing on chloe chong there
is still a chance for her to score as

say a few points here yeah exactly as we
see chloe chamber i think chloe

chambers is going to be as you've seen a
quite aggressive early in the race you

know she's third in the championship has
the the you know the out of the three

that are really fighting for the
championship the one that needs to try

score as many points as she can and
that's why she's pushing so hard to try

get past uh maya verg already um as we
see maya just coming out of the

slipstream there, looking on the inside
of Nobles. It wasn't really a look for a

pass, but it was a kind of a, I'm here,
waiting. As we see, Alicia Palmosky

trying to make a move there on Chong,
just sending her up there. It's a

tight section around here, as you say,
so it's going to be difficult, and I

think she's going to need to wait until
they get out of that turn 13.

Fair enough. Yeah, it makes sense. Let's
have a look and just see.

Incident involving Felbermayer. Full
start before signal. That's interesting.

So Felbermayer, who did go well
initially, she's currently in sixth

well be getting a little penalty.

Palmoski, though, having come from the
very back of the grid, having...

Bashed into the barrier earlier on in
qualifying.

But now, this is the corner you were
mentioning. Very important to get a good

exit here. Yeah, so through turn 13, she
had a good entry.

Let's see if she managed to get on the
power quickly enough to try and get in

the slipstream of the car in front and
get a run down. She's looking towards

inside, but she's not quite close
enough. So she's going to have to wait

for the car in front to make a mistake
or just to get a run on one of these

longer straights. Yeah, that was close.
She nearly had a go, but it's probably

sensible not to quite go for it.

So we will see. Chloe Chambers fastest
at the moment on the speed trap at 130

miles an hour. Oh, a little bit of a
lock -up from Chloe Chong.

And that is going to give Palmoski
another opportunity.

But let's see, because now there is
another chance going into the final two

-handers onto the start -finish
straight.

And then getting a bit of a toe here as
well, you might be able to overtake into

turn one. Yeah, she's got a bit of a toe
into turn one. There is a bit of

runoff, so you can afford to dive down
the inside. As she's looking now, she's

gone for the move. A great move there on
the inside.

And, yeah, really good. Moves her up to
P9 now. So just one position away from

the point scoring places. So let's see
if she can close that gap. She's got a

couple of seconds gap in front of her
now.

And let's see if she can close up onto
Gaidman in the next couple of laps.

This is lap six of 14 that we have.

Absolutely. So Alicia Palmosky, the 19
-year -old from Manchester in the UK,

she's made good progress up into ninth
place.

Alba Larsson has just gained a place as
well.

Aurelia Nobles, though, coming under
more pressure from Mayer Berg right now.

Mayer Berg with the Ferrari backing, who
is second in the championship, needs to

get as many points as she possibly can,
particularly as your main rival, Dorian

Pan, is a little further down the order.

In seventh. So can Meyerberg find a way
through? You're watching from second

place. Aurelia Nobels now.

to see where Meyerberg is looking for an
advantage, looking to see where your

car, sometimes you're just trying to get
a feel for where's my car better and

where's it worse. Yeah, we saw Aria
Nobles really have a bit of a slide

and Meyerberg closed up on the back of
her into that turn 13, and she's now in

the slipstream.

Let's see if she's able to get close
enough to make a move down to turn 14.

comes out of the slipstream, and no, not
quite close enough, and I think she's

not thinking the risk is worth it, but
she gets a great run.

out of turn 14. She's now on the outside
of 15, which will be the inside of turn

16 coming up. So that is going to be P2.

for Maya Virg now, taking second place
from Nobles.

Yeah, Maya Virg has got through. She's
in the second, and Chloe Chambers,

they're battling away with Ella Lloyd.
Oh, Lloyd trying to go around the

outside. That's brave. Oh, they're
touching wheels, and she's got to come

into the last two left -handers, and
Chloe Chambers just holds the position

the moment, but this is a big, big
battle, and it's close behind as well.

Felbermayer's not far behind.

Dorian Pan, series leader, right there
as well.

Ella Lloyd having a little look down the
inside. Felba Meyer following her as

well. But Maya Verg, as you said, very
much up in the second place. Dorianne

will be maybe a little aware of that she
could be losing some vital points here

to Maya Verg. She's still trying to find
her way through, but it's not quite

working for her just yet.

No, exactly.

She'll be able to see Maya Verg up ahead
taking that second place and thinking

there's a couple more points that are
going to go her way.

The battle between Ella Lloyd and Chloe
Chambers came out of nowhere, really. We

didn't see it coming. I mean, Chloe
Chambers was very close to Maya Vogue,

suddenly going into turn 16 was side by
side with Ella Lloyd. And they had a

couple of a bit of a, you know, rubbing
wheels for a couple of corners.

And yeah,

as we go to a replay here of Lisa
Billard, which there's some smoke coming

of a bit of flames under the engine
cover there. So, yeah, we'll wait to see

there's what happens there. But yeah,
really a real shame for Lisa Billard.

As you see the contact there between
Ella Lloyd and Chloe Chambers. Yeah,

-to -wheel racing. And as I say, a
battle that kind of came out of nowhere.

Palmoski. Palmoski has come to a halt.
She looks like there's been a contact.

The rear wing's damaged. The right rear
tyre punctured.

And, oh, that's obviously been a bash.

And, oh, Lisa Billard has stopped. Now,
I think that's a separate thing, but

it's the smoke and the fire we saw. So,
Lisa Billard, this is her first ever F1

Academy race. It's really been up and
down.

Great qualifying, but the race itself
has not gone well for her. So we've got

the safety car back out. We're on lap
seven out of 14.

And let's have a look back at what's
happened here to Alicia Palmowski. She

just on another fastest lap of the race.
So really pushing very hard and caught

the bunch in front.

Oh, very strange one there because it
looks as she got on the brakes there,

which I think it was possibly for turn
10.

The car just went left. So whether she
locked a wheel, I think she just got it.

Yeah,

as you said, turn nine. I think that
there might have been something because

seemed to turn right very quickly into
the wall.

So it didn't give her much of a chance
to do anything about it. So, yeah, we'll

wait to get confirmation of what exactly
happened there and maybe we'll see some

more replays.

A real shame because she'd really closed
up to the bunch in front after setting

the fastest lap.

We have just seen that Ella Lloyd has
got a five -second time penalty for

gaining an advantage. So that would
affect where Ella Lloyd, she's currently

fifth place. Now, of course, behind...

get behind safety car you'll be very
close so five seconds means you will

quite a lot of places but by the time
they get back to racing again the gaps

will open up so we can't really predict
where ella lloyd yeah end up finishing

this race no exactly it's punishing when
there's a safety car because everyone

closes up and at the moment she'd
probably end up in about p11 p12 or

further back but once we get racing then
gaps will spread out as we see uh the

car of alicia palmolski there a lot of
damage to the right hand side of the car

the right front the right rear the rear
wing as you said as well so um a real

shame for her because she'd made really
good progress in this race absolutely

and she had set class this lap for 204
397 before that happened so but it was

odd one as you said it was a slightly
odd um accident and i just I kind of

to have another little look at it
because the way the car flicks right,

got a little bit of lock on, hits the
brake, and it just hits it over, doesn't

it? Yeah, exactly. She definitely got on
the white line there and whether there

wasn't much grip out there, but she got
to a point where the car just didn't

seem to want to turn and went into the
wall. So whether she'd made contact with

the wall earlier on and there was some
damage and something broke at that

I'm not sure, but it was a little bit
strange.

was pushing really hard and really
unfortunate. As you see, Lisa Billard

with the smoke.

So we've seen her, as we see a replay of
the car, pulling over and, yeah, the

smoke coming out of the car. So real
shame for Lisa Billard because of the

incredible qualifying she had. But she
will be starting near the front of the

grid tomorrow again. So, yeah, she's got
another chance.

Yeah, that is a shame. I wonder how much
work they're going to have to do on the

car. These Formula 4 cars, the Tatius
machines, the F4 FT421s, they've got a 1

.4 -litre turbo four -cylinder engine,
six -speed gearbox, paddle shift.

Jamie Chadwick keeping an eye on all of
this, very much involved, of course, in

people moving up. She's done a fantastic
job in racing herself.

W Series, which she dominated, did race
here at Singapore, and it's great that

F1 Academy now... and it's second year
here at Singapore as well.

But, yeah, these Formula 4 cars
certainly have a few issues there.

We have been given a five -second time
penalty for leaving the track and

an advantage in C1.

We literally flew off and stayed in the
same place when it was called.

That's a joke.

Yeah, she's not happy about that.

But I think, you know, like we say,
there's room there to go off the track.

I think the one thing that the stewards
will look at is, you know, did you gain

an advantage by going off the track? And
if you did, did you give that advantage

back? And I think we saw her gain a
position when she came back on the track

there. So, again, she'll be looking at
that later, wondering if she thinks it's

fair enough. But the stewards, you know,
they look at each incident because...

Going off the track is just part of it.
And at turn one, especially here, there

is runoff. But you need to make sure
that you don't gain any positions or

any time by doing that. And if you do,
you need to give that back, which

obviously she didn't.

Let's have a look at that start again
with a five second. Yeah, so there she's

on the outside of Meyerberg and Chloe
Chambers. And she's gone off the track

there. And yeah, it comes back on.

Yeah, as we're on board with Dorian Pan
here with Ella Lloyd in front of us.

And Ella Lloyd just looks to try to get
out of trouble.

Yeah, there's a lot of cars there. Turns
right because it's squeezing and comes

back on track.

And certainly does seem to come back on
track a bit further up than she went off

the track. So I think that's what the
stewards would have looked at is, you

know, did she gain an advantage? And
they clearly feel that she did.

Yeah, I mean, she probably would have
only had to give one other place back.

she'd given Dorianne Pan that place
back, I think that would have been okay

going off because she didn't gain too
many ultimately. But I do understand it.

It's tough in the car as well to know
exactly where you, when there's a pack

cars, exactly where you've gone off
track and where you come back on. So

really difficult for the driver in the
car to actually know, you know, if

they're in the right place or not. So,
yeah, that's the challenge. And

really unlucky for her to get a penalty
there. I agree. And when you're in race

mode, you're... in race mode you've got
to go for it so maya verg you're on

board with currently now second so with
the safety car heading off this is a

real opportunity for maya verg to try
and go for a victory in the reverse grid

race having started eighth but leah
block who started from pole has held it

together so far this is going to be
fascinating once this gets underway now

remember it's leah Who will decide who
will go when? She will suddenly floor

And Maya Verg, she's pretty used to
this. She knows what it's like. And I

she could stay with it. But let's just
keep an eye on it. Third place behind

them, we've got Aurelia Nobles. And then
Chloe Chambers, who's been putting in

some very brave running so far. And then
Ella Lloyd with that penalty that will

be added at the end of the race. Right,
it's Lear now. She goes for it. You can

just see her floor it as she went
through the left. That was clever.

That was a good place to go. and Maia
Verg wasn't able to sort of gain from

but she hasn't lost too much. But
actually, Leah's very impressive through

last corner there. Yeah, she's had
another good restart there.

When you're deciding, you're able to get
on the power. As we see Chloe Chambers,

we said that Chloe Chambers wouldn't be
aggressive, and she is. She's gone for

that move into third, and Aurelia Nobles
has gone around the outside off the

track. And as we see Dorian Pan just
making a move there on Velvermeyer. So

Dorian Pan has got past Velvermeyer,
made a place up.

as Chloe Chambers now is in P3 with Ella
Lloyd in P4.

Absolutely. So Felbermaier just losing
out, but Dorian Pan has gained from the

restart. But Lea Bloch's done a great
job, again, easing away from Maia Berg

initially. Chloe Chambers in that third
place. And then Ella Lloyd right behind.

And, of course, Ella Lloyd, she knows
she's got a penalty. She'll want to try

and gain some place. It's impossible.

But Aurelia Nobles, who started on the
front round, now down to the back. Oh!

And going wide, his last elbow. last
time there was a bit of a battle for her

with Joanne Chiconte and she ended up
going rather wide but still there and

actually still in the battle and she's
now under pressure from Megan Bruce so

Megan Bruce who is in her first race in
F1 Academy and it went a little bit

wrong on the opening lap for her. She's
now trying to get some of those places

back. She has a little dive up the
inside.

That was a brave move. Yeah, a bit
risky. You don't see a lot of overtaking

Turn 10 around here and that was a brave
move but it didn't pay off in the end

but she's still there. She looks to be
really enjoying her first race on the

street circuit.

Yeah, she's doing well in the race
itself, even though the first lap didn't

quite go to plan. She had to kind of get
out of the way of some of the other

cars, I think, as well.

And Dorianne Pan now, number 28,
Mercedes -Benz -backed championship

is now putting Aurelia Nobels under some
serious pressure here, as you can see.

And this is for fifth place. So it helps
Dorianne Pan just reduce the gap

difference between her and Mayerberg.
You're on board with Dorianne Pan now.

And, yeah, we've just seen that, you
know.

Gina Halsman may have got some sort of a
yellow flag.

Oh, and Rafael Ferreira stopped again.

Yeah, she stopped earlier in the race as
well, and we saw she's getting going

again now. She's had a horrible weekend.

The problem is in free practice with the
car, that she didn't get any laps in

free practice, so it's been a real
struggle. This battle for Dorian Pan is

actually for fourth place with Ella
Lloyd's penalty, so if she can get this

position, that'll put her fourth, only
two positions behind Maya Berg.

And she looks like she's just taken, we
need to see it on the screen, but just

taken fifth place.

And Nobel's going... Oh, no, no, it's
all right. Sorry. It's just... That was

just an issue on the...

She's back there, but she's still
around.

Nobles did go wide, as we know, but she
is still in that group. And as you can

just see her there, Aurelia Nobles,
she's still running in sixth place. And

fact, she's going back alongside
Dorianne Pan.

So that's interesting. Dorianne Pan, who
made that move, but now can she hold

on? Emma Felbermeyer's right there with
it. But, well, that's a brave, brave

move. And Nobles, I think, has just
about done it, although still trying to

with the next...

twisty section yeah exactly so Dorian
Pan actually ran wide in turn five and

lost a lot of momentum for that next
straight where Nobles managed to get

alongside as we see a replay here I
think of turn one yeah this is from

Pan looking ahead at Chloe Chambers
making that move on Nobles into turn one

the restart and I think

Yeah, this is Dorian going past
Felbermayr as well.

That's where you see the difference
between the ones that are racing at the

front. On the restart, they take them
opportunities, as we see the battle

with Chikonte and Larsson just going
wide over the kerb. But, yeah.

It actually didn't affect too much in
terms of decision.

And then Aurelia Novel's at turn one,
she went wide again there and came

back on, but didn't gain an advantage.
So I think that's all okay. Yeah,

exactly. So she fell in behind Dorianne
Pan and actually managed to get a run,

like I say, out of 14 to overtake
Dorianne again.

Dorian Pan's problem now is that she's
stuck behind Nobles, and they need to

watch that gap to Ella Lloyd, because if
Ella Lloyd manages to get a five

-second gap, then she won't get that
position from that penalty. So there's

positions riding on Dorian Pan managing
to get past Nobles.

So three laps to go. You're on board
with Chloe Chambers, currently in third

position, chasing after Maya Berg. But
Leah Block is doing a great job out in

front at the moment, the 19 -year -old
American who is looking for her first

win. The daughter of the late, great Ken
Block.

And she has done well last time out in
finishing second place in the reverse

race at Zandvoort. And that moves her up
in the points because she's really

struggled a bit this year to score
consistently.

She's had a couple of other reasonable
results. She's had a fourth place in

Montreal, which was replaced with a

she has maya verg behind her but she's

keeping the gap at a good level maya

move and make a pass as we look further
back and dorian pan still not past

Aurelia Noble. She's still there in
sixth place.

Yeah, that's right. So, Fulmar in
seventh, Nina Gaidman in eighth place.

Did she get away with that? Yes, she
did.

But she's not made many mistakes, but
that was a little bit of an error, I'd

wonder. Yeah, she's definitely pushing.
She's definitely pushing to the limit

and wants to hold on to this. Just
trying to maintain the gap as we see

Ferreira getting out of the car now in
the pillar.

It's been a torrid weekend for... her
not getting any laps in practice with

technical problem and now something in
the race is uh yeah certainly for her

really really disappointing after she
said about the testing they'd had and

optimism they had coming into this
weekend well let's see how this goes

position So it's Williams -backed

Leoblot up against Ferrari -backed Mayer
-Werg. And then Red Bull forward.

They're all looking to be on the podium
here, but in which particular order?

They've opened up that gap to Ella
Lloyd, but as you say, Lloyd with a five

-second penalty. Now that we're out of
safety car, she is managing to get away

from some of those behind her.
Certainly, Nobles will be ahead of her.

Dorian Pan at the moment would still be
ahead of her. Yeah, exactly. Dorian Pan

is only, I think, three seconds behind
Ella Lloyd, so she would get that

position. Ella Lloyd looking to...

going to finish in about P7, P8, so
still would be scoring points, but yeah,

just needs to keep pushing for the last
few laps just to try and get as big a

gap as she can. As we see the front
three still pushing really hard. I think

Chloe Chambers, if anything, looks the
closer in that group, but any mistake by

any of them could open up an
opportunity.

And as we know, as you get into the
latter stages of the race, the tyres are

getting a little bit more worn out, so
sometimes the grip level is not quite

what you're expecting.

But so far, these three are doing a
great job fitting off those barriers.

It's so easy to just touch the barrier
and then suddenly do a little bit of

damage to the car on a street circuit
like this. But so far, so good.

Yeah, the track temperature is really
high. It's just under 48 degrees now.

them two safety car periods would have
helped bring the tyre temperatures down.

So I don't think they'll be struggling
too much. They've only been going a

couple of laps since the last safety
car. So I think the tyres would still be

at the moment. And Chloe Chamber's now
looking really close. to Maya Berg

out of the last corner. And into the
last lap we go. And actually, Leah Block

did a really good job in the latter part
of that lap. She's very good in that

final part of the lap, which is where
she always does the great restarts.

not sometimes the tighter section. She
loses out a little bit. That final

section is very good. And she should
have the confidence now. Leah Block is

much on target for her first win. Maya
Berg is having to be quite defensive

because Chloe Chambers is so determined.

She is probably going to miss out. this
weekend on any chance of winning the

title anymore because of the problems
she had last time out at Zandvoort.

She needs whatever points she can get,
and that's why she's going to be

attacking as hard as possible.

But I think Maia Verg is going to be
able to defend this. We'll see. Yeah,

see if any of them make a mistake. As we
saw come up to the screen, Dorianne Pan

just setting a new fastest lap banner
and beating the lap record from her from

last year. So she's got a lot of pace in
the car, but just not able to stay in

front of Aurelia Nobles when she did.

which is going to cost her a few points
in the championship fight.

Yeah, just a few. I mean, she's still
going to have the advantage. And, of

course, it will be even more significant
when we get into the second race this

weekend, when then you're on to the
normal scoring system, as in Formula

25 points for the win, 18 points per
second. Mind you, of course, Mayerberg

going to be starting that race in pole
position.

So there's been, oh, Alba Larsson just
getting a bit sideways there.

But she managed to keep it under
control.

Didn't actually go off or hit the
barrier, so that has kept things going.

And Megan Bruce having a lock -up. Did
she end up losing the play? Yes, she

I think.

Easily done. But Megan's still learning,
of course, so much at her first F1

Academy race.

But Leah Block is our race leader. And
we're getting into the latter part of

lap. Still a little way to go. Still
easy to make a mistake.

But she's doing a great job here. Leah
Block now coming up to the last two left

Leah Block takes victory in the first
race of the weekend for F1 Academy at

Singapore. Second place goes to Maya
Verg.

Third to Chloe Chambers with the penalty
added to Ella Lloyd. It means that

Aurelia Nobles finishes in fourth and
Dorian Pan does score useful points in

fifth. Emma Felbermayer in sixth place.
Ella Lloyd still does score points in

this reverse grid race in seventh. And
Nina Gaidman gets the final point.

But Leah Block, what a great job she has
done here from that pole position.

She qualified eighth fastest, but today
she has really shown some good pace

throughout the race, and particularly on
the restarts, she has done it superbly

well. And having had the podium last
time out in Zandvoort, now she's had a

in Singapore.

Yeah, what an incredible race. And I
think her lap times in the race were

actually faster than she did in
qualifying yesterday.

So she's really improved her
performance.

It got learning, the circuit, lap by
lap. And, yeah, an incredible,

drive from her. Just seemed to be under
control, apart from a few lockups here

and there. She was under control for the
whole race.

Yeah.

And he was lit.

It was Leah's birthday this week coming
into this event.

She turned 19 this week. And so another
celebration of birthday time. Really,

really impressive.

Maya Verg now finishing in second place.
And she's always finished second here

in the past. Well, I say always, but she
did two races here in Singapore last

year and she finished second in both of
them. And now she's finished second from

starting in eighth place, which that is
impressive to come that far up the

order. And, of course, it has brought
the points just that little bit closer

together between her and Dorianne Pan.

So we will see as it goes into the
second race this weekend. She's on 115

opposed to 130, so 17 -point gap.

We are on the podium, and that's what is
the most important.

Yes, she's feeling a bit cross with
herself for not being able to take the

But nonetheless, I think she did a very,
very good job, especially having

started down on the fourth row of the

Yeah, she did a great job. Like we said,
they've been looking to move forward.

And obviously, she's been able to make a
lot more progress than her championship

rival, Dorian Pan, has.

You know, both Maya Verg and Chloe
Chambers had a really strong race, both

really aggressive. Chloe Chambers,
probably the most aggressive in that

trying to overtake.

And it's paid off by... by condition on
the podium.

Yeah, and it's a better day for Chloe
Chambers than last time she was out and

the car didn't get off the line.

So that's good news for her. She made
some useful points there. I still think

looking... the way the points are going
it could well be by the end of this

weekend she won't be able anymore to
attack for the championship lead but

done to Leah Block this is her second
season so she is going to be finishing

Academy at the end of this year. But
it's lovely that she has been able to

a victory. And yes, it's the reverse
grid victory. You don't get as many

but I still think she did a really good
job because often we've seen the pole

sitter on a reverse grid being beaten
and dropping quite a lot of places once

get to the end. But she held on
extremely well, dealt with the safety

superbly and was under pressure from two
of the fastest drivers. There's no

doubt about it. Yes, as you said, Dorian
Pan had said. fastest lap. But Maya

Verg and Chloe Chambers have been two of
the fastest all year long.

Yeah, exactly. And I think that, you
know, she qualified eighth, but I think

was probably out of position a little
bit on that because her pace in the race

was really strong.

And both the restarts were really good.

And obviously at turn one, she had to
fight for the lead through turn one and

two. But once she did that, she
controlled the race and never looked

someone was going to be able to overtake
her. So thoroughly deserves that. win

and i think that uh you know tomorrow
starting ph she's going to be looking to

try and to try and move forward from
there but um i'm really excited about

tomorrow's race with the three
championship contenders because they all

really uh aggressive and up for the
fight And well done for the ART team

they have had a really tough year this
year. They've not scored many points.

it's lovely that they've managed to take
the 10 points for the victory in this

reverse grid race. And, of course, for
Williams as well. James Fowles has been

keeping an eye on it. They back at Lear
Block. And James will be very happy to

have seen the Williams livery coming
across the line first. So we'll see if

Williams can also deliver when it comes
to Formula 1. But that was great.

from them for a Ferrari, for Mayer Berg,
second place.

She was a little frustrated she couldn't
go even quicker and try and take the

win, but she has scored some very useful
points. She's just closed that gap very

slightly to Dorian Pan. Mind you, Dorian
Pan, she's so consistent. She just

makes sure she's always there, getting
the points, and she'll go for

opportunities when she has them. And she
finished in fifth place from starting

in seventh. Let's just have a look at
some of the highlights. of Leah Block.

Yeah, so Leah Block here just as she
comes across to win the race with Maya

right behind her and Chloe Chambers
again coming across in third place. So a

really controlled race as we said from
her. Two restarts to deal with as well

and executed them perfectly.

So yeah, fantastic result for Leah Block
to take her first win in F1 Academy and

on the streets of Singapore a really
special place to be able to do it as

Yeah, it is a special place.

right.

Such great history here. It means a lot.
And it's lovely that the fans have had

a chance to watch some good racing
there.

And it was a long event because they had
that delayed start.

They had a couple of safety, several
safety car periods during the race. So

was quite a long process for them to get
through.

But they have dealt with it extremely
well. Yes, we had a few non -finishers,

sadly. We lost Alisa Palmowski with some
damage to her car. Raffaella Ferreira

had a... technical problem Lisa Billard
that was a shame because the wild card

entry who did such a great job in
qualifying she had a tough race and

Havrida as well we saw her crash out
earlier on in the race so those are the

ones that did not make it to the end but
of course there is going to be a second

race this weekend when there will be a
chance to try and do it all over again

we've got the top three podium finishers
hopefully coming together and having a

chat let's have a little listen in

Man, I was like, oh, I didn't know that
was going to happen. It was so tricky

and all the episodes.

yeah all of the breakings i was like oh
no like half the race i was just like

moving biased around and stuff and i was
like what's happening

On the restart.

Your second restart was good. I was not
expecting it. I know. I went and then I

was like, wait.

Apologies for any naughty words, but I
can quite understand there that they

looking at Alicia Palmosky hitting the
wall and thought, oh my goodness, that's

a nasty one. And it was such a shame
that we saw her go out of this race

on because she...

She was already in a position virtually
to score points today. Yeah, she had a

great race. She was really fast, setting
fast for collapse and made good

progress. I think she was in P9 at the
time and closed the gap to the points

scorers in front. So I think definitely
was on the way to score points. So a

real shame, but it shows good for
tomorrow. You know, you've got obviously

main race tomorrow starting from the
back of the grid as we see Chloe

coming out there to collect her third
place trophy.

Yeah, fantastic. Well done to Chloe
Chambers. who has been a frontrunner all

this year. That's her sixth podium of
the season, and moved up well for Maya

Verde. Having started down in eighth
place, that is her seventh podium of the

season, and the battle for the
championship is still going on, but it

Dorian Pan who's the advantage.

But Leah Block, only her second podium,
but it's her first win in F1 Academy by

taking that pole position in the reverse
grid race and then holding on for out.

Great job done by her.

Leo Bloch is the 18th ever driver to
take victory in F1 Academy since the

first began a couple of years ago.

And congratulations because that was
well deserved.

An excellent effort starting from pole,
good start, getting away with the

troubles at the first corner and then
dealing with the safety car period and

still accelerating.

Maia Verg in second place and Chloe
Chambers in an excellent third position.

Two Americans and one Dutch racer up on
the podium for this one. But we're going

to have another race later this weekend,
of course.

And that is going to be another
fascinating one around this demanding

circuit. When we go back to the goal
grid, it will be Maya Verg there you're

looking at who will be starting on pole
position.

On the front row, it'll be Dorian Pan,
her championship contender, who will be

alongside her. And remember, Leah...

who took the victory today. She'll be
starting in eighth place, the place that

Maya started today. I wonder where Leah
will be able to get to. Having shown

good amount of confidence today, she'll
have to do some overtaking in the main

race to get another top result.

But many congratulations to her for

race, Courtney Crone, Alba Larson, and a
few non -finishers, including, of

course, Alicia Palmosky and Lisa
Billard. That's a great shame.
