All language subtitles for F1 GP Academy Montreal 2025 03 Race 2

The highlights of the first race of the
weekend saw a really challenging event,

particularly as the two teammates making
contact down into turns one and two,

and Chloe Chambers then battling away
with Dorian Pant. The damage to the

wing certainly hurt her, and it meant
that she wasn't able to fend off Dorian

Pant. There were other incidents as
well, people making mistakes. For

it was a bit of a shame for Matilda
Patz, who hit the wall.

Joanne Cicconte also out, but Dorian Pan
took that victory, and that is her

third win of the season to take the lead
in the championship, and by quite a

margin, 24 points, her lead now over
Maya Verg.

Maya Verg's been the unlucky one, and
we'll talk about her in just a moment.

the second race of the F1 Academy... F1
Academy in Montreal in Canada is all set

to get underway.

Dry conditions, looking good, around the
2 .7 mile, 4 .3 kilometer, 14 turn

track. And this is also going to be
another unpredictable race because,

remember, we've got the fastest top
eight qualifiers positioned in reverse

order. That means that Chloe Chong is on
pole position, even though she got

taken out in the race.

in the first race earlier on today.
Chloe Chong will be on pole.

Alice Powell is alongside me, Ben
Edwards. Alice, as an experienced racer

yourself, we've seen that none of the
pole sitters have taken a win so far

year in F1 Academy.

So it's going to be really tough there
for Chloe Chong, starting from pole, to

try and hold on to that.

It certainly is, but she had great pace
in the race earlier on. We obviously

just saw in the highlights package there
that she was very unlucky with Rafaela

Ferreira, unsafe rejoin, who actually
got a five -place grid penalty for

this race.

But Nina Gaidman, who's starting in P2,
also looked strong. And actually, just

looking at this front few rows, any one
of these drivers could win this race.

Absolutely, I agree with that, because
it could come from almost anywhere.

We shall see how it goes. Well, there
was some later news as well. Alicia

Palmosky, in that incident that she had
with Chloe Chambers, did get a penalty

in the end. So it was...

dropped down the order, did not score
points as a result. Let's take a look at

the grid then for this second race.
Nicole Hafrida and Eva Anagnostiadis are

the back row of the grid, even though
they managed to get some points in that

first race. Courtney Crone in 16th. Maya
Berg, who was the championship leader

coming into this, she's down in 15th
place. Rafaela Ferreira, 14th. Matilda

who's the wildcard entry, she is in
13th. Aurelia Noble's in 12th place.

And Alba Larson, who did a great job,
finished well up in the order in the...

that first race. She starts down in
11th. Keep an eye on her.

Joanne Chikonte, good qualifying.

10th for her, just behind Leah Block.
They were out of the top eight, so then

8th is Chloe Chambers, who was fastest
in qualifying.

7th, Alicia Palmosky.

6th place, Dorian Pinn, the winner of
race one. Ella Lloyd, who was 2nd

on today. She starts in 5th place. Any
of them could move their way up. Tina

Hausman, starting in 4th place. Emma
Felbermayer, who lost the 3rd place she

in race one due to... of the carving
underweight. She starts third.

Nina Gaidman starts second. And as we
mentioned, it's Chloe Chong who starts

from pole.

So that's how the lineup goes. And as
you said, Alex, it really is very

unpredictable to see how this is all
going to work out because we've got some

very rapid drivers, of course, down in
that reverse top eight. But we've also

got Maya Verg in the Ferrari colors, of
course, supported by Ferrari, who we've

seen doing so well this year, but has
been struggling so much this weekend.

She has. And you really got to feel for
her because they've changed everything

MP have on that car. And she's still
lacking power.

And we've ridden on board with her a
couple of times. And it just sounds like

it's massively lacking. It's not running
correctly.

And actually, on the weekend wrap that
you can see on F1 Academy socials, next

week, after this race weekend, she talks
a lot about mindset. And she's got to

have a strong mindset now because Dorian
Pan, her closest challenger, has

stretched her legs or has actually taken
the lead from Maya in the championship.

As you said, 24 points is the gap now.

starting all the way up in P6 for this
race, fired down in 15th.

Ella Lloyd, she's got another good
chance of doing a decent job having

second in that first race earlier. She's
racing extremely well. Alicia Palmosky,

so she did end up losing out of points
because of the penalty that was given

after the race. But she does still start
in the top eight for this race. She

starts in seventh place. First time she
doesn't effectively score points because

of the penalty that she was given. You
can see her going through there with

Chloe Chambers behind her. And all of
the... drivers just getting a feel for

track now, of course. It is a little
warmer than it was when we saw them out

the morning. Track conditions are a
little warmer now.

46 .8 degrees on track. So, our top
three on the grid, Emma Felbermayer in

third, Nina Gaidman and Chloe Chong on
pole position.

Let's hear from them after they spoke
after qualifying on Friday.

I'm super happy, to be honest. Best
qualifying session of the season.

I also closed the gap to the front a
little more.

So happy with the improvements we did,
especially after the pre -practice. We

did a really big step forward.

So happy to start tomorrow from P3.

Race 2 is all about being the biggest
wall on track and just keeping everyone

behind me because I know my back won't
keep up. So, yeah, it's going to be

tough.

I would love to say that I'm happy, but
quite honestly I'm a bit disappointed in

my performance.

Definitely had a lot more on the plate,
seeing how close the top eight were, and

also my performance in FP.

So a little bit gutted for that, but we
are moving forward.

We've got a lot of work to do tomorrow,
especially in the first race, but

excited to start on pole.

I think we can do a good job from there.

So that was Chloe Chong on pole who was
talking yesterday and of course the

first race did not go well for her
because she got taken out.

managed to repair the car, so she is

going to be starting from this pole. And
I do understand how she feels, even

though she's starting from the top spot.
The fact that she was eighth fastest in

qualifying obviously frustrated her a
little bit, but now she's got an

opportunity. She'll be starting up
front. Got to hold on to it as best she

A lot of drivers seem to be enjoying
driving this track. Of course, new for

every single one of them that are racing
here this weekend, but heard lots of

positive things.

That'll be great news for the future of
F1 Academy, who, if you might have seen

on their socials and website, they're to
race in Montreal until 2028. So

extending their deal here with the
circuit. So many of the drivers, at

some of them anyway, who will be staying
on next year, they hope will enjoy some

further time at Montreal. But Chloe
Chambers starting in PH. She'll be our

sitter for tomorrow's main race.

She'll be hoping to stay out of plenty
of trouble. She's lining up alongside

teammate. Of course, they came together.

Alicia getting that penalty because of
the contact, 10 -second penalty in the

previous race.

Campos will be watching through their
fingers, I'm sure, but it would have

sat both drivers down and say, OK, let's
not have another repeat.

They can even work together to try and
move their way forward because they've

got the pace.

This is a reverse grid race, so the
points on offer are slightly less than

the race we saw earlier today. The race
we had earlier today was actually based

on the Miami race, race two that got
cancelled because of rain.

This is a reverse grid race, so the
winner will get 10 points as opposed to

points for the race we had earlier today
and the race that we will have

tomorrow. Reverse grid, 10 points for
the win.

Eight points for second and six points
for third. But it's still going to be an

exciting race with this reverse grid.
And we are getting all ready for the

of race two in Montreal from F1 Academy.

The green light is waved at the back of
the field. The lights are coming on.

Light out.

Away we go in F1 Academy. And it's a
good start from Chloe Chong. From that

position, she's got away well.

Nina Gaidman is coming under pressure.

Although she's got into second place
pretty effectively. And in fact, Ella

has lent herself up there. What happened
to Felbermayer, I'm not sure. Because

initially she seemed okay off the line
in the green machine.

But she then dropped back. And she's now
having to fight her position. Holding

off Dorian Pan, the winner. Number 28.
The winner of the first race. Who's

trying to get past her?

She is. And actually, I think it was
Emma Felbermayer. that came across her

teammate, but a challenge for the lead
already. A lightning launch by Ella

Lloyd, looking really hungry. She's
already won, but down the inside goes

Gaidman to take the lead. Yeah, Nina
Gaidman into the lead. Ben, look at

Ella Lloyd, you're riding on board with
Ella Lloyd, who's going to try and grab

second place.

So it's not going well for Chloe Chong.
The 18 -year -old started from poor

position, but definitely struggling a
little bit. Emma Felbermayer still

to hold her position after something
happened. We'll have another look in a

minute. And Chloe Chong almost making
contact.

as she goes off on the grass, loses more
places, but has got back on without

hitting anybody. At the moment, it is
Nina Gaidman from Ella Lloyd in second

place, Felbemeyer in third.

Aggressive stuff from some of these
drivers, but it's the Rodins that have

their way further forward, and the Red
Bulls are so close again in the middle

there. I think there even might have
been a little bit of a touch, but Nina

Gaidman is stretching her legs out
front, and Ella Lloyd is now under

pressure from her teammate, Emma
Felbemeyer, who sadly got excluded. from

one for being underweight, but she's
looking to charge forward against her

teammate. Absolutely. So let's have a
look at this. Is Ella Loy going to be

to defend as they come down?

To the right -left, of course, where
we've often seen incidents.

She's actually got a really good exit,
and I think she's going to be able to

make the move and take that second place
as they come over the line. Ella Lloyd

missing out a lot, actually. She's lost
the place to Dorian Pan. She may lose to

Chloe Chambers as well. Ella going very
late on the brakes to try and hold them

off. Nearly loses it, but held on. Well
done to her.

She just about held on for that
position, and Gaben's going to be

Yeah, well, the team just advising
Dorianne Pan. She is smart.

She's usually very good at just managing
to avoid what's going on around her

when it goes a bit crazy, but she's in a
very strong position still here.

Clearly, she won the earlier race today.
She's in fourth place at the moment,

and she's now putting Ella Lloyd under a
bit more pressure. Lloyd is holding

that inside line into the hairpin.
Sometimes you can go around the outside,

that was late braking by Ella Lloyd, so
Dorianne Pan knew she wasn't going to

make it. She's under pressure, though,
from Chloe Chambers.

Right behind, and Chloe Chambers is
potentially a championship contender, so

needs to keep an eye on that. That was
smart driving there from Ella Lloyd. She

kind of beat the corner off, stopped it
in the middle, and Dorianne had to

hesitate and look out for Chloe Chambers
going down the inside wheel -to -wheel.

Great spot, we got it, we're getting.

Dorianne's later on the brakes, but
Chloe has the inside just about, and

had to back up. This is going to give
Ella Lloyd a little bit of breathing

space.

Absolutely, and I'm surprised that all
three made it through, but they did.

Meanwhile, by the way, Maya Verg is in
11th place. That's a bit more

encouraging. Oh, a little lock -up there
from Dorian Pan. Was there contact?

There might have been. I couldn't quite
see whether Chambers just touched the

back of her car there, but he's still
getting away with it. This is all a

bit marginal. It's all helping Nina
Gaidman holding the lead in this race.

as I mentioned, Maya Verg, who's had
problems with her car in the Ferrari

colors, supported by Ferrari, as she...
She is now running in 11th place, so

maybe the car is working a bit better
than it has been all weekend so far.

So race start instant, you can see up
there between Ella Lloyd and Tina

I actually think it was Emma
Felbermeyer, we'll have to obviously see

from the start, that moved across.

Ella was there and then Ella had to move
across and then that squeezed Tina

Hausman onto the grass.

But looking back, Dorian has, for now at
least, escaped the clutches of Chloe

Chambers, who's also then being hounded
down by her teammate Alicia Palmofsky.

But out front, Purple Sectors have...
flashing up and under pressure Ella

is once again from Dorian Pan Yeah,
nearly, but she holds that inside line,

it does work. As you say, behind Chloe
Chambers, two Red Bull cars.

Chloe Chambers in fifth place, Alicia
Karmosky in sixth. They did have that

contact in race one when they were
fighting for the lead earlier, and I'm

the teams will have made sure that they
do not do that again.

Also going well, Alba Larson, by the
way. She's running in seventh place,

12. She had a good first race. She does
go well around this track, but she

didn't quite get qualifying.

as efficiently as she had done in free
practice, funnily enough. But she is

moving up through the order at Maia Berg
still in 11th place. Let's see whether

that gets any better. The fastest lap
for Alba Larsson there.

Sounds like we're at an indoor go -kart
track, doesn't it, with all this tyre

wheels squealing that's going on. Alba
Larsson just set the fastest lap of the

race. She's currently in 7th place,
started 11th. But it's great to see that

Maia Berg's still out there battling
away, learning. Of course, she's not

had any laps around this track. No laps
in free practice. similar with

qualifying as well and of course the
issues in the first race of the weekend.

So we'll continue to keep an eye on her
to see if she can move up into the

points. Remember, points for the top
eight in this reverse grid race. So

got a few more places to try and gain.
Absolutely right, yes. It's harder to

the points for reverse grid. And by the
way, the wild card, Matilda Pat. She's

doing pretty well. She's in 12th place.
She's behind Maia Bird.

But that's another one to keep an eye on
just a little bit. No further

investigation on the incident at the
start. And we will be looking at that in

just a few moments' time. But this
battling going on up front.

It's very, very close. You're on board
with Chloe Chambers behind Dorian Pan.

And as much as Dorian Pan has been
trying to get past Ella Lloyd, she's not

quite close enough this time to get
alongside into the hairpin. And Chloe

Chambers... We'll get a good slipstream.
This is the area of the track as they

come out and go down the longest
straight through the gentle curves, 11

and down towards the chicane where you
can really get some useful drag from the

car ahead. You can, and you can see
you're ducking into the back of the

slipstream of the car in front, making
sure you're hitting all your gear

spot on. One slight error with an
upshift down that long back straight,

could be game over in terms of defending
your place. But here, let's have a look

at the replay. at the start you can just
see that Ella Lloyd gets a great launch

is then squeezed across by her teammate
Emma Felbermayer who then unfortunately

for Tina Hausman she was the innocent
party there is squeezed onto the grass

luckily

That's Chloe Chambers. So there's been
an incident down into turn two, and we

haven't quite seen what happened yet,
but that's another big blow for the girl

celebrating her 21st birthday.

The great racer, she's doing a really
good job this year, but it's not working

out. Let's see what happened here.

So it's between her and Dorianne Pan. Is
there contact?

Oh, that's marginal.

Man, she squeezed me off the track. My
right wheels were in the grass.

I mean, what happened? see again but
this is not the first time these two

come to blows they came together in Abu
Dhabi in the final race of the season

last year both drivers dropped down the
order but Dorian has escaped with

dropping any further back but this time
it's Chloe Chambers that's dropped way

down the order and look at Alva Larsson
she's into P6 now right on the back of

Alicia Palmofsky, who had a real strong
pace in free practice, was the fastest

driver in free practice, but wasn't able
to convert that in qualifying.

But that gap now at the front bend is
coming down. And one thing to note, if

we've had any new viewers to F1 Academy
this weekend, there's no DRS for these

cars. So it's all about trying to
maximise your exits and hit every

every apex braking point to try and
close that gap to the car in front.

This is impressive, what Alba Larsson's
doing. There's a little bit of a weave

around there from Nina Gaidman, but
they're not close enough to really get

tow from her on this lap. Mind you, Nina
Gaidman has led a race in the past, and

it didn't work out for her. That was in
China at the beginning of this year when

she looked on target to take the
victory, but had a problem with the car

on. Going back to the race start once
again here, and as you say, Tina Housen

definitely lost out.

because of that little run onto the
grass. Let's just have another little

here as well as what was going on into
the chicane. That was actually

tidy. Let's have a look from on board
Ella Lloyd.

Nina Gaben saw the door open. Chloe must
have braked slightly earlier and down

the inside and then it was close between
these two teammates.

I think there was just about enough room
there. And there we saw Chloe Chong

going across the grass.

And then it's getting nice and close. A
few laps before.

And here, a great run out from Chloe
Chambers. She's going to elect. OK, I

what you're going to do. You're going to
go down to defend. I'm going to try

around the outside.

So let's just have another... Oh, there
was a touch. That's right. I thought

there might have been a little contact.

That's not the one that led to the spin,
of course.

That did look like... It didn't look
like she was pushed off to me there.

I mean, yes.

They're both going to be fighting it.
And here's Nina Gaidman cutting the

chicane. Now, she did have a very
impressive...

final sector a couple of laps ago and I
wonder if that was from cutting that

chicane so I'm sure the stewards and
they have noted that her going across

chicane she's able to open the gap a
little bit more from ever fell blind

absolutely well at the moment Gaidman
has got that as you say 1 .6 second gap

Larson makes a move down the inside and
that was a good move in an area where we

haven't seen many overtaking taking
place but is she going to be able to

to it because it does then just make it
a little bit difficult to get the good

exit speed you need but so far this is
working and she has managed to get

herself ahead of Alicia Palmoski who's
going to have to work hard to get back

there. She is, and I'm hugely impressed
from Alba Larson this weekend. She's had

strong pace at the start of qualifying,
wasn't able to convert it when everyone

else came back out of the pitch. She was
top of the session for a while, but we

mentioned she started down in 11th, now
has made that move up into fifth place,

and she's looking strong lap time -wise.
This is super impressive.

Ella Lloyd has got even more pressure
once again to soak up from Dorian Pan,

looks like he's got a good run and a
prime example there of that slipstream

effect. Yeah.

So Ella Lloyd goes to the inside, which
makes sense. But with that slipstream,

there's good straight line speed here
for Dorianne Pan. Can she break later?

she locks the front, but she has to run
across. She'll have to give that place

back. She will have to let Ella Lloyd
back through, because otherwise there'll

be some penalty, I think. Well, the
thing is, Ella Lloyd cut the track as

Nina Gaidman. Any more and she's going
to get a five -second time penalty. So

she's got to try and keep within those
track limits.

What should I do for position?

Switch positions. Switch positions.

Ah, she has been told to give it back
again.

And she did ask because she wasn't sure.
But that is, as you say, it's a tricky

one because Ella Lloyd, also, if she had
got through the chicane, then it might

have made more sense. But if the team
are telling her to do that, then I'm

she will.

I mean...

Yeah, we've seen this kind of thing
happen, didn't we?

Back in Barcelona with Max Verstappen
being asked to swap. You can see the

of the car there from Alba Larson. I
mean, I'm surprised they're saying to

switch positions. Maybe they are a bit
concerned, but Ella Lloyd cut the

It's not been switched as yet, but
Maia's all on the back.

she's going to go down the inside here,

Ben. Yeah, this is a good move from Maia
Verg, who's not quite there, though,

not quite. A little lock -up, though,
from Aurelia Nobels, and she just holds

to it for the moment from Maia Verg.

Maia Verg desperate to try and get back
further up the order to score vital

points, having been the series leader
coming into this event, but losing out

much in the first race with not getting
a finish at all.

losing out in qualifying with the car
not working. So she's working at it now,

but it's not going to be easy to get
past Aurelia Nobel, who can put in some

very good performances herself, as we've
seen this year.

Nina Gaben's still leading. Ella Lloyd,
yeah, does go back in front of Dorianne

Pan. So they left it for a while, but
she has now let her through. So we'll

this battle continue.

And it's close behind them as well. For
both of their... That lap seven, they

skipped through that chicane. Both of
them got their lap time deleted for

limits. So...

We'll see, but Alba Larsson's taking a
dive down the inside. It's a late one.

They make contact.

Contact between the two drivers. That's
going to give Ella Lloyd some breathing

space, but also bring Alicia Palmofsky
back into the mix.

Yeah, that was well held, but that could
have easily gone wrong. Dorianne Pan

just managed to control the oversteer as
a result of the incident, and now

Larsson is having to defend herself very
much from Alicia Palmofsky.

Let's have a look from the back of
Dorianne Pan's car. We can see.

whether they're going to be able to get
through the wall of champions safely,

and they do on this one.

And this is still all very, very tight.
I have to say, Vanina Gabeman still

leading this race with a 1 .4 second
advantage over Emma Felbermayer. This is

going really well for Nina Gabeman,
because all the battling seems to be

for third place at the moment, doesn't
it?

It does, and brave.

dive down the inside between Albalas and
I think it was a bit of a late move

that one certainly wasn't on and
Dorian's so lucky not to have been

around there I think she was aware she
gave a bit of extra space she went quite

wide But there was still the contact,
wasn't there? Yeah, there'll be no real

damage to the cars. Very light contact.

Incident, of course, now has been noted
by the stewards, so they'll have a

little look down to that. I think the
last one will probably escape with any

kind of penalty. If Dorian had been
turned around, it could have been

different. But Dorian's still under
pressure, but she is clawing her way

to the back of Ella Lloyd.

She is. And, of course, in terms of
the...

in theory, is itself a scoring point.

Yes, Ella Lloyd is ahead of her. And in
theory, Ella could be a threat later in

the year as it goes. But we'll have to
see. Maverick takes a dive down the

inside there and gets the position this
time into the hairpin. So Maverick goes

up into eighth position, gets past
Aurelia Nobels.

And Leah Block behind in the Williams
supported machine, also trying to get

involved. Maierberg now having to watch
out, though, because, of course, the

slipstream is benefiting Aurelia Nobles
as they come down. And I still wonder

whether Maierberg's car is working quite
as well as it should be. Oh, no,

they've made contact.

Nobles and Berg have made contact. And
that is a great shame.

Hopefully both cars are OK. But that was
not ideal at all. No, it certainly

wasn't. And just missed.

And actually, no, because I thought
she'd gone into the pit lane. So she's

a good job to try and keep that on
track. That, of course, is going to be

The little animal on the side there had
a great view. Yes.

The groundhog that was watching.

We need to give that groundhog a camera
and get some great shots.

But we'll have a little look again.

Two of them, actually.

Two of them. One of them staying there
to watch.

Prime position, as we saw. And, yeah, it
was Maya just didn't leave her enough

room on the left -hand side.

As you can see, opening up to open up
the corner.

And lucky there that neither of them,
well, A, have damage, and certainly B,

Nobles, that she was able to keep it out
from going down the pit lane and having

a spin.

Yeah, absolutely right. She did very
well to hold on to that. But this

not getting any better for Meyerberg,
even though the car's working a little

better now. So that's a great show. Nina
Gaidman is still the race leader. It is

the battle for third, fourth, fifth.

six that is all so close here Ella Lloyd
who finished second in the first race

of the day earlier on she's looking for
another podium finish here but she's

still under major threat of course from
the very rapid French driver Dorian Pan

who took the win earlier who's taken
three wins so far this year three wins

year as well so she has been a very
dominant force but Lloyd is holding it

well at this stage And then Alma Larson,
who qualified rather poorly, but she's

done extremely well to get into this.
Perhaps she can still get a podium. She

scored points very regularly, but she's
missed out on a podium so far this year.

Yes, she has.

And Dorian now is in, again, that tricky
position of trying to attack.

And then trying to defend as well.

Alicia's still hanging on the back
there. And actually, this has brought

Hausman into the mix as well. You can
just see the Aston Martin driver in the

back of shot there.

She was over two seconds behind this
battle.

She's now closed the gap to Palmoski in
P6 to nearly under one second. So good

job for her. And setting decent pace out
there. And Elba Felbermayer is now

closing the gap down.

And Rafaela Ferreira has come in.

sustained quite a bit of damage from
that incident.

And Nobles as well.

Yeah, that's a shame. Aurelia Nobles,
and she seemed to survive that incident

that occurred with Maya Verg going down
into the chicane, but maybe it has done

damage because she has now had to come
into the pit. So that's a great shame

because it looked like she might be in a
position to still score some points.

The Mercedes back to Dorian Pan, who has
now got quite a comfortable lead in the

championship, but is fighting for every
position as normal. Then Alba Larsson in

fifth place at the moment, with Alicia
Palmosky right behind her in sixth

position. Tina Hausman, who missed out,
was a bit unlucky at the start of this

race. She's running in seventh place.
Leah Block is in eighth place. Oh, and

look at this. Dorian Pan just having
another little opportunity.

Late braking, late braking. Is she going
to have to? Yeah, she's going to have

to straight line it. Now, this is
interesting.

because she will come back out. She'll
have to let... She's going to have to

feed back in, isn't she? And now Alba
Larson is getting squeezed by Ella

Careful ladies down into turn one, and
Alicia's having a look to go down the

inside.

But Dorian's got to give that place
back. Yeah, of course she has. And it's

going to be a tricky one to do so with
how close these drivers are behind her.

Yeah, and of course, if Albert Larson
had got past Ella Lloyd right then, she

might have had to give the place to both
of them.

Possibly, I don't know. But right now,
as long as she gives it back to Ella

Lloyd, they probably will let her do
that.

Let's have a little listen to the radio.

Well, that's what we expected, at least
this time around. Maybe not the first

time around, but now would be a perfect
opportunity to try and give that back

because there is a little bit of a gap
there, and that's exactly what she does.

She'll then force Ella to take the
tighter line, which could upset her

into that chicane. So have a look at the
replay there. So Dorianne, of course,

is then going to go to the left of Ella
Lloyd. Ella defends, pulls over.

She just about gave her enough room on
the inside.

Dorianne, we've seen it before and we
will see it again. Plenty of drivers

having a lock -up down into that final
chicane. But Alba Larsson is alongside

Dorianne Pan now.

So Alba Larsson, number 12, is getting
right alongside Dorianne Pan. And Alba

Larsson, one of the younger racers in F1
Academy, she's doing a really good job

at the moment. Is she going to be able
to get past Dorianne Pan here?

Yellow flag in sector three, and we've
got a spin for Nicole Hanfreder.

So that, of course, could cause problems
for everybody. It's just a yellow flag

at the moment. It's not a safety car as
yet. But Dorian Pan has been passed by

Alba Larson, hasn't she? So that is a
good move by Larson. She's up into

place. And now Dorian Pan coming under
threat from Palmoski as well. She is,

the gap down at the front is now nearly
under half a second, but safety car is

out. So there's been contact somewhere.

along the line. I wonder if it was... I
didn't actually catch where Havrida was.

That has kind of saved Nina Gaidman,
actually, because she was under a lot of

pressure, about to come under a lot of
pressure, from Emma Felbermayer.

So this is really bunched up. I would
have thought this will be a super...

car. And you can see the tractor's

already making its way out onto the
circuit at Neenah Gate.

He's obviously been into the pit. So

It has been a bit of a challenging time
for her recently.

Dorianne Pan was passed by Alba Larson.
It was on the outside into the chicane.

And yeah, Dorianne Pan was quite
cautious, wasn't she? She was, but what

from Alba Larson. You've got to trust
the driver on the inside. But Dorianne

cautious. But she needs to keep her nose
clean.

She's seen Chloe Chambers now, who's
dropped outside of the points.

And consistency is what's going to win
you a championship.

And that's what her Premier team said to
Dorianne.

play smart and okay she's dropped a
couple of places she started in sixth so

overall she has gained a place

But she needs to just rack up those
points. And we saw that last year,

we, from Abby Pulling, just making sure
you rack up those results, don't do

anything crazy. And that's what wins you
a championship in the end. Absolutely

right. And her major threats in the
championship are still behind her,

they? Because the like of Alicia
Palmoski is behind.

Maya Verg is still behind. Chloe
Chambers is down in 10th place, who's

major rival in theory. But she's having
a tough day as well. Remember that Chloe

Chambers will be starting from...
opposition in the race on Sunday when

the maximum points, 25 points for a win
as opposed to 10 points for a win today

in the reverse grid race. But Nina
Gaidman, it still will be putting Nina

Gaidman under some pressure this. If we
get the race restarted, I think, as you

said, I think we will get it restarted
for at least one or maybe two racing

because they are moving that car now.

So I think we're going to get, yeah,
we're probably going to get one racing

aren't we?

Because the tractor and the stricken car
of Havrida is not off circuit yet, they

can't turn the safety car lights off.

So that will take us on to the 16th lap
of...

out of 17, and we're going to have a one
-lap dash to the chequered flag. What

could possibly go wrong, Ben? That does
worry me a little bit. It could be

chaos, of course, but we shall see,
because if you only have one lap when

safety car comes in, everybody's just
going to go for it. And particularly,

there will be another race tomorrow, but
there's an overnight space in which

cars can be repaired. I think the teams
might be worrying about this. It might

be a long evening, but let's wait and
see.

It could be straightforward. It could be
more incidents. We shall see soon.

Well, we know that Emma Falbermeyer,
from watching her in previous races, is

going to go for it. If she gets a good
restart, then no doubt I expect that she

will be, and there's confirmation that
the safety car will be ending on this

lap. But no doubt Emma's going to go for
it. Ella Lloyd as well. She will

certainly.

Try and make a dive down the inside. If
she can get a good restart, she can have

a great restart in the first race here.

Again, so we've got Summer McIntosh now,
who will be waving our chequered flag

in a lap or so's time, the Canadian
Olympic champion swimmer. You can see in

team viewer box, but lights are already
out on the safety car.

Absolutely. So we are going to have an
exciting final blast here. And Nina

Gaidman, of course, I wonder how she's
feeling because she led a race in China

for nearly all of it and then lost out.
That was because of a reliability

problem earlier on this year.

Now, can Nina Gaidman... hold on for
this win, or is it all going to change

again with the safety car ending?

It possibly can, but she'll be hoping.

She's done everything right, Nina. She
got to the front. She was so unlucky

comfortably, really, in Shanghai,

she's going to hit her putt. Breaking

perfectly. She's already been told you
can't lock up, you cannot go off. And

well done to Nina because she's done a
great job. You can see the car squirming

from Emma Felbermayer who didn't get a
great restart. It's Alba Larsson. She's

going to be under pressure. There you go

Absolutely. But Thelma Meyer made a good
restart there. She didn't drop too

much. And she is going to definitely put
Gateman under pressure on this last

lap. So is it going to be the same story
at the end? Nina Gateman leading from

Thelma Meyer in second place. Ella Lloyd
in that third position. And she is

somebody who can also really make a move
if she feels she's got that

opportunity. Alba Larsson still in
fourth. Still looking for her first

the year. Can that happen here? Dorian
Pan back down into fifth place. Here you

are. Look, there's a bit of a challenge.
for the lead. Ella Lloyd sensibly is

doing her own thing. Seeing that they
might fight each other, she might be

to get the exit here. Yeah, she had a
little look. There was definitely no

space, but this is, Ben, we've got, I'm
not even going to attempt to count the

amount of cars that are going to be
battling for this lead. And she's down

inside, goes over Felbermayer, takes the
lead, Ben. So Felbermayer does go, but

does she squeeze her out wide?

Ella Lloyd's still got a chance to cut
in here, but at the moment it's

Felbermayer who's taken the lead from
Nina Gaiman. You're on board with Ella

Lloyd. Now, what can she do? Can she go
for second? Can she go for the win even?

Down into the hairpin. She's definitely
got the chance to take second place. And

Nina Gaidman is definitely losing out
after leading so much of this race.

Fantastic racing from these ladies in F1
Academy.

And it's going to be a drag race down
the straight.

And it's going to be a perfect position
for Emma Falbemeyer. She's got to hit

that braking point down into the final
corner.

Is this going to work? Are we going to
get them all to the line?

Oh, no!

Thelma Meyer goes over, and surely
that's going to... a problem for the

stewards. She will come across the line
first.

Emma Felbermayer and a Lloyd comes
across the line in second. Nina Gaben in

third. But that is something that will
be looked at now.

That will be. And I don't know if they
all know that the race is over. It still

looks like Emma Felbermayer is pushing
out front there. But it's a win for

Rodin, at least anyway, for one of them.
That's true.

But a 1 -2 for Rodin Motorsport as it
stands at the moment.

Yeah, right now. it is, but we'll stay
that way. We'll have to have another

at the stewards. We'll have to make the
decision as to whether she went because

she didn't make the chicane absolutely
clean.

Did she deserve to hold that position?
We shall find out. But Emma Felbermeyer,

who finished third earlier on today and
then lost it for a weight failure.

And then this is where I almost nearly
covered my eyes. They all charge down

into turn 10. Ella Lloyd takes it down
to the inside. But then Feldmeier runs

slightly wide.

But she manages to cover it.

And then even further back with three
abreast. But a lock -up from Dorian Pan.

And Ella Lloyd did a great job. Because
she nearly followed the route of Emma

Feldmeier. So let's have a little look.
So slightly later on the brakes was Emma

Feldmeier. First phase of the braking,
skips over the chicane.

Wow. I mean, race of the season so far
in F1 Academy. And it's still a

one, because if you go off there, you're
meant to cut back on at a certain

position, and she cut back on early
there, effectively.

But I can totally understand why she did
that.

So what they're going to do here with
this decision, is Ella Lloyd going to

up with victory? I don't know.

I think she'll hold it, because she
didn't gain much of an advantage. Great

Well done.

She's obviously asked the question
already, and the team run them both,

Yeah, they are teammates, but, of
course, Ella Lloyd racing for McLaren.

She'll be wanting to, of course, inherit
that win.

Coming up on our screens is Emma
Fellbyer's...

Lap time was deleted for that incident
at the final corner, but she wasn't on

her final warning as she pulls up. But a
nice one, too, for Odeon Motorsport.

I mean, it was actually really fun to
watch and fascinating to see.

Will she hold on to it? And they have to
make a decision quick because the

podium is coming up, of course. But
right now, she can celebrate. Right now,

team certainly feels she totally
deserves it.

She's taken the victory ahead of Ella
Lloyd in second position and third place

for the driver that led so much of that
race, Nina Gaidman, the 21 -year -old.

from the Netherlands who had a really
good race, but the safety car did hurt

her. The restart she did wasn't perfect.
It wasn't quite as good as Dorian Pan

had done earlier today.

And then with the tow and the speed that
cars have behind you, it can be very

difficult to hold them off. And as you
said, it was a brave move by Emma

Felbermeyer to make that move and take
the lead.

Still some questions around, but well
done to Nina Gaidman. At least she's

up with a podium. The other time she led
that race, she didn't finish it with a

reliability problem. So she has brought
it home, which is good.

Celia's best was fourth before this
weekend.

She got third earlier today when Emma
Felbermayer was disqualified for third.

Nina Gaidman got third then. And this
time she's got third, although she was

leading it earlier.

And of course, if Felbermayer does get
any kind of penalty, we're not seeing

anything come up about that.

At the moment, it's looking as though
Emma Felbermayer has indeed got this

So I don't think Nina Gaidman's going to
gain another one, but we shall find

out. I'm just taking a big breath.

Then my heart rate was through the roof
on that final lap. I don't know about

yours. Certainly these ladies out there
would have been, heart rate would have

been going through the roof as well.

But disappointment, I'm sure Nina Gaiman
will be disappointed with that, leading

on the start of the final lap to then
end up in P3, but still a solid job from

her. But Dorianne Pan has come out the
winner in terms of championship

positioning. She's now on 90.

points. Maya Virg at 64 and Chloe
Chambers in P3 on 62.

So let's have a little look then at how
the full race result does look. It's

Emma Felbermayer who has taken the
victory with Ella Lloyd in second place

the second time today and Nina Gaidman
in third position. And for the Rodin

team, that is a 1 -2 finish.

Prema in third with Nina Gaidman. Then
Dorian Pan in fourth ahead of Alba

Larsson, Alicia Palmowski, Tina Hausman,
Leah Block in eighth, Maya Verg in

ninth, and Chloe Chambers in tenth. No
point.

in the reverse grid. Matilda Pat, the
wildcard entry in 11th place ahead of

Courtney Crone, Aurelia Noble and a few
others out of the points and a couple

who didn't make the end of the race, I'm
afraid.

So there we go. That's two races out of
three held here at Montreal. And

actually, I have to say, both races have
been really interesting. All sorts of

things have been going on. Of course,
safety cars can add to that. And safety

car was originated at this track in the
early 1970s. That's when safety car

first appeared in Formula One.

And we're quite used to it in Formula 1
and we're obviously just as used to it

in F1 Academy. I think there's only been
one race this year without a safety car

anyway. I mean, some great driving on
display from the drivers here in F1

Academy. And the great news is we get to
do it all over again tomorrow, Ben,

with our main, you could say, the
feature race where Chloe Chambers will

starting on pole alongside Alicia
Palmofsky.

That will be taking place... tomorrow at
10 .55 local time.

Remember, not four points for this race.
There'll be four points for the race

tomorrow. But it's great to see such a
big turnout as we'll head down

into the cool -down room to listen in.

Absolutely. See what kind of
conversation they have.

Yeah, she kept going off the tree. Oh,
Chloe!

Yeah, it was the injury earlier this
year. Yeah,

the whole time.

Well,

yeah, it's interesting seeing that. Nina
Gaidman, who had an injury earlier this

season, and you could see her trying to
stretch her back, and clearly that back

injury is still causing her a bit of an
issue. But she has ended up with a

podium finish, but of course you could
see the disappointment on her face that

she didn't win that race because she was
leading it for so long.

Yeah, she's, like you said, struggling
along still with that injury.

She was almost, I was looking at her,
stretching her back over the back of the

chair in the cool -down room. So still
struggling, and it's hard. There's

nothing worse than feeling really
uncomfortable in a race car and battling

injury like that.

But she'll be hoping. There's a great
team down back at Enstone with Alpine.

Dave and the rest of the crew do a
fantastic job in the human performance

there. So no doubt that they'll be
aiding Nina with her recovery.

So here we go then. On to the podium
they come. Nina Gaidman having settled

that third place. But it's still a very,
very good result for her, despite the

fact that it's frustration and losing
out on the win. Ella Lloyd.

Being very consistent now. So that's two
second places here today. And she's had

one win in the series so far.

But victory today has gone to Emma
Felbermayer.

And it's time for the Austrian sound to
come out.

Well, that's a big one for Emma
Felbermayer, taking her first win in F1

here in Montreal. It's a track that has
seen some very, very famous F1 drivers

take their first F1 wins at this track.
Giselle Villeneuve took his first win at

this Canada track back in 1978 when it
all kicked off.

Lewis Hamilton also took his first ever
F1 win at this circuit as well. Ella

Lloyd doing a great job, though, and
scoring points consistently now. And she

can perhaps become a major threat in the
championship, although Dorian Tan did

plenty today.

And there, Nina Gaiden, who was leading
that race earlier on, but the safety car

did hit her a little bit. And we have
had confirmation, no penalty.

for Feldenmaier so this is very much the
top three of race two it is and uh

brilliant racing as I've already said
from all of these drivers champagne

flowing yeah it does hurt when you get
it in your eyes but it's great to see

them all celebrating together and we get
to go again all over again tomorrow

it's been fantastic racing so far from
F1 Academy here in Montreal It has been

thoroughly entertaining.

Tomorrow, Chloe Chambers will be on a
pole position once again.

And we'll see whether she's going to be
able to turn it all around after what

has been a bit of a tough day for her,
being her 21st birthday. Sadly, it

all quite come together for her. But
tomorrow is a new day and another

opportunity when she'll be starting from
that pole position. And Alicia Palmosky

will also be up front as well. But
there'll be plenty of opportunities for

incidents, more overtaking, perhaps, as
we've had here today.

And lots to see. And, of course, we are
expecting it to remain dry in this part

of the world. But you never quite know
in Canada, in Montreal, whether it will
