Number One, number Three. Have you found my hiding place?

Is anybody there?

It's so noisy. Be quiet.

What happened?

Sir. Anji House has been discovered.

What? How are things going?

Do you need help?

No, I don't. I haven't been exposed yet.

What are you talking about?

What is Anji House?

It was an abandoned temple in the eastern city.

I've taken the children I saved to that place.

I've been trying to manage it.

Some homeless old clerks

and a group of homeless children and elderly people lived there.

But today, the imperial court remembered that place.

Clean it up.

Take that away.

Stop!

Sir, we're repairing the temple. Please step aside.

I'm here to help.

Clean it up.

Sweep up there later as well.

I thought they came for me

and would arrest the people of Anji House for questioning.

However, they actually renovated the courtyard

and even made up the money they had owed all these years.

The old clerks have gone to the Ministry of Revenue several times

but were turned away.

I know the money can't

be allocated for no reason.

I see.

Number One. You're in the Capital City. You did it?

[One] Not me.

Not you?

I don't think number Four did this good thing.

[Four]

Not number Four.

Neither number One nor number Four did it.

So it must be…

Number Three.

You think too highly of me.

How can I possibly command the people from the imperial court?

You should not intervene.

I'll send someone else to investigate.

It's Mr. Wei?

Mr. Wei. The matters of the Anji House have been handled.

The Guardians didn't show up...

Clerks of the Ministry of Works handled it.

Well done.

What's Anji House? Why did you pay attention to it?

Could it be related to Earl Pingyuan's case?

It's just a place that shelters the homeless.

There is one more thing. Yang Yan.

Yes.

Leave it to Li Yuchun.

Do you understand my intention?

Yes.

[Relief Approval]

Mr. Li... Will we distribute supplies?

[Relief Approval]

You darned men.

I thought you were good people.

How unreasonable you are. Stop pretending.

I'm telling you...

either you bring back the county magistrate Mr. Liu,

or

you all just scram.

Get out of here!

We're doing official business!

Do not interfere!

Arrest me then!

Come on! Come on. Arrest me!

Arrest me!

Come on!

Don't.

[Waigou Village]

This got dirty.

It's not the first time, anyway.

We work with a good conscience.

Mr. Li, do you want a steamed bun?

Come on. I'm talking about serious matters. Scram!

The magistrate of Taikang County has been imprisoned.

I thought Mr. Wei would spare him.

There's a reason for that.

You reminded me that Dahuang Mountain charged high taxes.

Once it's reported, the mountain will be shut and the lives of the citizens will get worse.

You persuaded me to plead for the county magistrate.

Guess what Mr. Wei said.

What did he say?

Dahuang Mountain has saltpeter mines.

How did the Kui tribe know about it?

It happened right under the Guardian's nose.

Are you saying someone is colluding with the Kui tribe?

The Dahuang Mountain is part of Taikang County.

The county magistrate didn't report it to hide the traces of the Kui tribe.

So he is a spy for the Kui tribe?

He's been sent to the Jingzhao Administration and is under interrogation.

However, Miss Chu finds out that he has colluded with the Kui tribe.

Thanks to Mr. Wei.

That's interesting.

What do you mean?

Mr. Wei is righteous and benevolent.

He likes to wear a blue garment.

He loves making tea, reading, and playing chess.

He doesn't look like a superior.

Besides, he's very thoughtful and perceptive.

I hear he doesn't know martial arts.

Even so, he can lead the Guardians and the Censorate.

It's incredible.

You actually see Mr. Wei this way.

However, I see him

in a different way.

Mr. Wei could govern the country by wisdom and defeat rebels by force.

His combat power is unfathomable.

No one knows his level.

Keep up.

During the war at Linyuan Pass 19 years ago,

as the commander-in-chief,

Mr. Wei spent only a few months

to defeat two strong tribes of the north,

the Demon tribe, and the Kui tribe.

Launch!

That battle earned Mr. Wei an immortal feat.

He saved the entire Dafeng.

He was also honored as the Military Deity of Dafeng.

Most of the current high-level warriors

began to follow Mr. Wei from that time.

They received his guidance in martial arts

and thus grew to be able to stand on their own.

So... you understand now?

Awesome!

I only heard of the heroic deeds of the King of the North.

Now it seems Mr. Wei surpasses him.

But why can't Mr. Wei perform martial arts now?

Not long after he established the Guardian Yamen,

he crippled his martial arts.

Why?

No one knows why.

Nor does anyone discuss it.

It's a taboo for Mr. Wei.

So... do not mention it.

Isn't that the Constable who handled the case on the Dahuang Mountain?

- Jingzhao Administration. - Mr. Xu. Finally found you all.

- Miss Chu is looking for you. - Chu Caiwei?

Yes.

Are you the murderer?

No.

You may leave.

Next.

Are you the murderer?

No.

You may leave.

Miss Chu, Mr. Xu has arrived.

Xu Qi'an. You're finally here.

What's going on here?

It's all your fault.

It's all because of your stupid slacking-off trick.

Slacking off? What's the problem?

I used your so-called slacking-off trick

I said I had a strange illness so that I could avoid going to yamen.

Chen Hanguang agreed right away.

Isn't that quite good?

It's not.

Chen Hanguang is so bad.

He said I didn't have to work at the yamen

and I could work outside the yamen.

Guess what it means.

To put it bluntly,

he asked me to use the Qi Observation Technique on those involved.

I have to look at them one by one.

Three to five people would be okay.

Just look outside the door.

There are hundreds of people involved.

I've been doing this day and night.

My vision blurs and my brain stops working.

Yeah. The Qi Observation Technique can be used like this.

How come I never thought of that before?

Anyway, I can't do this anymore.

I can't do this anymore.

Since you're here, I'm handing this case over to you.

Let me see.

[Dossier]

The deceased is named Liu Han,

a junior officer who guarded the city gate.

Last night, he was murdered

and died at the table.

His body remained intact.

No money was lost.

There were no signs of door or window damage.

It was likely done by an acquaintance.

The victim sat upright.

Considering the head-tilt angle, it was a quick death.

No sign of struggle.

It seems the victim knew the murderer,

someone he greatly revered or feared.

How did you discover this?

Normally, he should sit loosely and comfortably in his own study.

He shouldn't sit upright with a stiff formality

unless he had to treat the person before him with respect

Makes sense.

It's stated in the dossier. No one visited him last night.

He hasn't made any enemies recently.

Perhaps we should ask Liu Han's immediate superior.

Liu Han's superior is a Centurion of the Imperial Guards.

He's outside the door now.

- Call him in. - Yes.

I hope this is the last one.

Mr. Zhou. Tell me. Is Liu Han your man?

Yes.

[Zhou Chixiong, Centurion of the Imperial Guards] Has he been acting strange lately?

No.

When he guarded the city,

did any suspicious persons or items enter the city?

No.

Could it be that they went unnoticed?

There are many guards.

Bribing just one of them would be useless.

Unless all of them are bribed.

Or... the bribee is you.

What do you mean?

Mr. Zhou, I'm just asking routinely. Please cooperate with us.

I haven't taken bribes.

Aren't you a Guardian?

If you don't believe it, just investigate me.

I have nothing to hide.

Any other questions?

I have work to do.

I'll take my leave.

Thank you for your cooperation.

He didn't lie?

No, he didn't.

It's weird.

I'm overthinking it?

Miss Chu. There are over 180 people waiting to be tried outside the door.

Will you continue?

What?

I have work to do.

I'll leave you alone.

What do you mean?

Are you trying to avoid it?

You taught me how to slack off.

You must help me out.

Otherwise, my eyes will be hurt.

Help me, please.

Have you

heard of eye exercises?

Six two three four five six seven eight.

Seven two…

Close your eyes.

Three four five six seven eight.

Indeed, I feel much better.

Do it regularly.

Do it once every morning and evening.

For 15 minutes each time.

It will improve your vision.

Very good.

Can you teach me more?

I'll promote it to the Bureau of Astronomy.

There is one last lesson.

Press your fingers to your temples.

Move your fingers around the eye sockets.

Place your thumbs on the temples.

Move your index fingers around your eye sockets.

Up and down.

Alternate between them.

Come on. Do it gently. Don't hurt yourself.

Do it gently. Be gentler on the temples.

One two three four five six seven eight.

Two two three four five six seven eight.

Three two three four five six seven eight.

Sangbo was formerly known as Xuanwu Lake.

It is said that the founder of the Dafeng obtained the Mighty Sword.

With this sword, he meditated for three years in the lake and had a breakout.

He rallied back with the sword in his hand to win every battle,

eventually overthrowing the former dynasty and unifying the Central Plains.

This is where the founder started his ambition.

It's the source of inspiration for the masses.

Dafeng established the capital adjacent to Sangbo.

The later generations enshrined the statues of sages in the center of the lake,

symbolizing eternal stability of the nation.

[Eternal Stability of the Nation] This is the origin of the Sangbo Fiesta.

Descendants all take pride in this.

It's a legendary tale in the capital.

Ningyan. Have you never heard of it?

How come you don't know anything?

That's all?

Don't stop. Keep talking.

If you don't talk, I'm going to fall asleep.

Sangbo holds an extraordinary symbolic meaning.

Therefore, His Majesty will pay homage

with imperial family members and officials.

That's all.

Go on.

The Guardians protect the royal family in secret.

It seems perilous.

In fact, it's quite safe.

More than 20 masters above the fourth rank will be coming.

Be careful.

Why do you look so weak?

What happened to you?

You always look drowsy.

You went to the Bureau of Music secretly?

No, I didn't.

Mr. Wei said my realm of refining qi has hit a bottleneck.

I can only find my limits by not sleeping to solidify my realm.

Realm of refining spirit?

What? You've reached the realm of refining spirit?

I don't know why, but I have strong feelings now.

I'm almost at my limit.

- What? - You keep talking.

Talk to him.

Well, I…

Look, the scenery is beautiful.

Sangbo Lake is deep with plentiful fish.

- What should I say? - Just keep taking.

I… Ningyan.

[Emperor Yuanjing]

[Empress]

Dafeng has only two princesses.

Then she must be Lin'an.

Your Highness, look over there.

Don't disturb me.

Look over there.

Why is he here?

- Get him out of here. - Yes.

The princess orders you to guard this place strictly.

You must not come forward.

Princess?

Why did the princess order us?

What are we guarding from so far away?

To guard a tomb?

Could it be that Lin'an failed to recruit me

so she gave me a hard time?

She's so petty-minded.

[Eternal Stability of the Nation]

[Princess Consort of Prince Yu]

Lin'an.

Your Grace.

You haven't visited me for so long.

The pomegranates in my house are ripe.

No one has tasted them.

Recently,

have you received any news from Pingyang?

Yes,

I've received news from her.

She says everything is fine.

She wants you not to worry.

That's good.

Good.

Your Grace, the ceremony is about to start.

Lin'an. Come visit me more often.

The spirit-calming ritual is completed.

Greetings to His Majesty.

Under the heaven and on the earth,

[The First Emperor, Dewuzong]

The nation is vast and mighty.

With great effort, the people strive to move on.

The rivers rush fiercely.

May the nation flourish and prosper.

It's splendid.

I saw it for the first time.

Too bad it's too far away.

I can't see the details.

Indeed.

I remember the royal family will show respect to ancestors today.

Number One, Number Three, am I right?

[Six] I calculated that today is the ceremony for ancestral rites.

[One, Three] Number One is offline.

Number Three is offline.

Interesting.

This is not good.

Number Two is trying to find out my identity.

But number One hasn't replied either.

She is also here?

Who could it be?

Help!

Help!

Did you guys hear any strange sounds?

Are you talking about the music for the rites?

It does sound deafening.

Help!

Stop, Ningyan.

They can watch us.

Stand properly, or you'll get scolded.

Mr. Wei, there's something off.

You really didn't hear it?

No.

You must have been to the Bureau of Music secretly.

Your weakness is making you hear things.

Help!

Listen, there is a sound.

No, stop looking.

Everything around the nation.

[Eternal Stability of the Nation]

[The First Emperor, Dewuzong]

- Your Majesty. - Protect His Majesty.

Protect His Majesty.

Yang Yan.

Protect the Empress.

Lin'an.

Quick, protect His Majesty.

Your Highness, run!

Your Highness.

Be careful!

Your Highness.

Your Highness, are you alright?

- Your Highness? - Your Highness.

I'm here to protect you.

Are you alright?

I'm good.

What are you doing here? Leave.

Get out of here.

Yes.

Are you Xu Qi'an?

Exactly, you must be…

Be quiet.

Your Majesty.

I'm to blame.

No one is allowed to enter.

Yes.

You were first-rank, but so what?

You should have had a long lifespan.

Yet you were burdened by the mortal world.

In the end, your life was shortened.

I ascended to the throne at 20.

I defeated all enemies.

Only then did I secure my seat of power.

No one could rival me anymore.

But in the end, I realize

the greatest enemy

is time.

Your Majesty.

Continue the ceremony.

Yes.

Continue the ceremony!

Your Highness. The ceremony is over. Where are we going?

Don't worry about it. You will know later.

Okay.

What's this place?

You may leave.

What do you mean, Your Highness?

Did I do something wrong?

Why are you leaving me in this deep forest?

Lin'an is interested in you. I don't want you to see her.

But it doesn't need to be this far.

It must be. What if she catches up?

Coachman, let's go.

This is the Moon Incense.

To see it is to see me.

I'm here for you.

Shangguan Xixue. You are the future Empress.

You can't associate with him.

- Father. - Guards.

Catch him and take Xixue away.

Xue.

- Xue. - Don't.

Xue!

Mr. Wei.

Mr. Wei. All the tomes about Sangbo Lake are here.

Has something happened?

Nothing.

[Sangbo Note]

[One] The sword in the temple has been resurrected.

It has now become quiet again.

Emperor Yuanjing stayed in the temple for a quarter.

No one knew what he did.

Later, the ceremony continued as usual.

Number One, you were indeed there.

Before the sword's energy soared up,

I saw a stream of evil energy gathering at Sangbo.

I've also sensed it.

But it was a fleeting moment.

So, during the ceremony,

a great demon or an evil cultivator approached the Capital City,

waking up the sword to scare away that expert.

But the Capital City is guarded by Jian Zheng.

Who dares to attack the Capital City?

Perhaps it was not an attack.

But Sangbo itself harbors a secret.

[One] Number Three. Why do you come to this conclusion?

[Six] A friend of mine heard a cry for help coming from Sangbo Lake.

Could it be that something is being suppressed beneath the lake?

Number One, you're from Dafeng. Can you recall anything?

[One] Impossible. If that's true, I should have received news of it.

[Six] Number One is an important figure.

This means

only the royal family or even only Emperor Yuanjing himself knows.

[One] I'll try to look into this.

[Dafeng Precepts]

I probably know what happened.

Is there any secret in the lake?

[Dafeng Precepts]

This is not something you should know.

Forget what happened today.

No further investigation.

No private discussions.

- Yes. - Yes.

Your Highness, Princess Lin'an has been pretending to be you

since she recruited Xu Qi'an.

I do not understand why you don't expose her.

Let her be.

Any news about Mr. Wei?

After the ceremony, he sent Yang Yan to the Bureau of Astronomy.

But Jian Zheng feigned illness and didn't show up.

Neither Yang Yan nor Eunuch Yang sent by His Majesty

entered the Star-Gazing Tower.

Your Highness, what should we do next?

Continue watching Sangbo.

Pay special attention to the Mighty Sword.

- Keep me updated. - Understood.

Have you thought of a way? If you haven't, keep thinking.

If you can't think of anything, don't speak.

It's so noisy.

Have you thought of anything?

Enough.

Your Highness, don't worry. We've hidden the truth today, right?

Yes, we have.

But Huaiqing is so clever.

Soon she will find out.

Today, so many people saw me talking to him.

If a curious guy inquires,

the truth will be exposed.

So what? At worst, we can find someone else who can write poetry.

No.

I can't let him leave.

Your Highness. You couldn't have fallen for Mr. Xu, could you?

Of course not.

He is just a Bronze Gong. What about me?

I am a popular princess.

Is that so?

But when he was desperate to save you,

why did you hold him?

Are you making fun of me?

No, I'm not.

Think of something. Stop looking at me.

Your Highness, I have an idea.

It can make him very loyal to you in any case.

Just say it. Don't beat around the bush.

Make him a kept man.

A kept man?
