All language subtitles for 01 - The LayOut interface

- [Instructor] Okay, we're in chapter two.

And we're look at sort of layout options

and customization options in this chapter.

As far as the interface goes, there's very little difference

between Windows and Mac.

We both have the Windows on the side,

difference between the Mac and the Windows

is that we don't get them docked and separated

on the Mac, you can snap them to the edge,

but they don't actually separate the screen

into two bits, they just float as it were.

The other thing that is slightly different

is you don't get this tab on the Mac

if you went to the view menu,

you'd see something that said Show or Hide Tab

and this is the tab.

But you also on the Mac get the name of the file

sitting up here.

Now, this is chapter two 01, the layout interface,

and what we also get on this is

the name of the page that we're on.

Okay, now I'm getting that

because I've opened up a template.

This is a predefined template and it has two pages.

The default page is page number two,

one of the inside pages,

that's why it says inside page there.

If I went backwards on this, this is a page direction

sort of arrow, we've got that on the Windows and the Mac.

In the Mac it's tucked away to the right hand side.

If I click on previous, then I'll see the first page

which is called cover page.

Okay, so that's really the significant difference

between these two.

When we look at configuring and setting up,

we'll see slight differences as well,

but it's pretty much tools across the top

and the windows down the side.

Now similar to SketchUp,

I recommend you keep this one going.

It's got some useful information, some tool tips,

and some modifier keys are listed in there.

And also links to the help files on the Tremble website.

But we've got a load of docs here we can open them up

and close them down as we choose

and then on the Windows machine, it's back to Window,

and then we can retick them.

Okay, pages, layers, and the amazing scrapbook.

Okay, so that's how we turn these on and turn them off.

Now you have a similar option on the Mac,

if you went to the Window menu on the Mac,

you would see a list of these things.

Now they'd either have a tick next to them

or they'd have a bar next to them or nothing next to them.

If they've got a tick it means that they're

in the open state.

All right, this one is pages.

If there's a bar next to it,

it means it's in its closed state, like that.

And if there's no tick, that means it's not loaded.

To all intents and purposes though,

very little difference between the two.

So if you are using a Mac, you shouldn't have any problems

following along with this.
