at a click of a button.

As technology progresses,

our ability to use technology

The internet kind of had
to make us confront sex.

70% of the internet

It used to just be
confined into the bedroom

The more we talk about things,
the more common they become,

just becomes kind of normal
in a weird way.

So, sex wasn't enough anymore,

and having sex with someone
famous wasn't enough anymore.

What else
can stand out about it?

OnlyFans was created in 2016

by Tim Stokely
and his brother Thomas Stokely,

two British entrepreneurs.

I remember there was
this kind of, like,

weird connotation of, like,
what is it? Is it a porn site?

Like, what are people
trying to do on there?

Are people topless? Are people
naked? Whatever it is.

OnlyFans is
a subscription-based platform

where people can interact
with their fans directly.

It's direct-to-consumer content.

It was first premiered,
you know,

"The New York Times"
kind of wrote about it

as like, well, famous porn star.

You get to interact
with your fans.

That's sort of how
it was marketed,

but it's not actually what
was happening.

What it is
is a way of monetizing

a social media following.

OnlyFans, um, started out as

the space for sex workers,
but...

The thing about OnlyFans
that's making it work

is it's regular people.
You always read these stories.

- Yeah.
- It's like divorced mom

with two kids is
making $800,000 a month.

During the pandemic,
the most popular thing

that arose out of it
was OnlyFans

and all the webcam sites.

All these companies became big

because all these people
were home.

They were
collecting unemployment,

and they were able to see
live girls

doing whatever they wanted them
to do over a webcam.

And people thought
it was cool.

Especially since everyone
was isolated at home,

celebrities have kind of
come in there and said,

"Okay, this is maybe more

of a little bit of, like,
salacious content

that I wouldn't necessarily post
on Instagram or Facebook

or Twitter or whatever it is,
but I can post it here

and know that people genuinely
want to see it."

I think it's a way for them,
the celebrities,

to tell their side of the story.

I didn't even know what it was.

And someone was like,
why don't you have an OnlyFans?

I'm like, what is that?
And they're like,

And at first, OnlyFans kind of
had a more salacious, naughty,

oh, if you have an OnlyFans,

then, you know,
you're doing porn.

And I learned really quickly
that that's not

what was really going on
in that platform.

I keep it very classy. I don't
do any, um, pornography.

Um, I don't, uh, play with toys

or do masturbation
or anything like that.

I keep it very "Playboy"-esque.

I did fall
on the bathroom one time.

I was doing, um, a little video,

and I was using,
like, baby oil and stuff.

And I went to, like, grab it,

and there's oil,

And I fell, and I was like...

And I just remember
being like, what am I doing?

Like, what am I doing.

Like, I don't know, it was just,

So, different people
have their OnlyFans

set up in different ways.

Sometimes people charge
for a subscription,

and then they just--
whatever content they post,

whatever they put in their feed,
that's what you get

for, you know, the amount of
time that you're subscribed for.

Some people charge maybe
a very low price

so that you have access
to their menu.

Some people don't even charge
for their subscriptions at all,

and they just charge
for exclusive content.

They're--basically,
they're, like, locked.

Like, you have to unlock
the post by paying for it.

And then there are other options
which are, like, more personal,

if you can do, like, requests

for something
a little bit more bespoke.

yes, to me,

it is one step forward
of controlling

and giving consent
to your own life,

your own shares,
your own whatever you wanna do.

For two years, I've had it.
And I want to say,

I see why men and women
go towards sex as a relief.

When you're, like, not getting
your fix from real life,

but I can go to an OnlyFans
and I can have love,

kindness, um, nudity,

that's how it feels.

I don't remember how I heard

When I was auditioning

And I knew there is no limits
to how big

you can make
these characters on Disney.

So, I went in there
and, I, like, did

my full Jim Carrey style,
like...

"It's--Justin,
it's really crazy in there!

Don't go in there!"

Like, the absolute, like,

most ridiculous take on--
on that role.

And the casting directors,
of course, were like, "Whoa."

I just had a one-line part.

"Justin, that movie is
way too scary."

There's some things in this life
that you can never unsee.

I knew that this was like

a once-in-a-lifetime
opportunity.

It was the most exciting time
of my life.

You know,
if I went to Disneyland,

I was in trouble for sure.

It's funny. When you go
to Disneyland...

...they'll be like this.

It's that look like,
"Oh, my God, I know her."

Because I think they feel

like I was in their home
every Friday night

or in reruns that they watched
on Disney Channel.

Honestly, I was such a huge fan
of "Boy Meets World" growing up.

It was on Disney Channel,
which is how I would watch it.

So, Maitland played Rachel.

So, she came
in the college years,

kind of like the fun, sexy girl,

always, like, you know,
smiley and perky

and always fun to be around.

You're looked at as a celebrity.
"Wow. You're on Boy Meets World.

You had the perfect life.
You had the perfect set.

Oh, my God, you had
everything going for you."

One aspect I don't think
people realize is

just because you're famous
does not mean you're wealthy.

They don't understand that

I was working, like,
part-time jobs also.

Yeah. For--For the first
two seasons

of "Wizards of Waverly Place,"
I worked at Starbucks.

That was another thing
I struggled with.

Like, I had never had money, ever.

Like, at the end of every year,
I'd always--

Like, I'd get through.
I had a place to live,

I had
a great, supportive family,

I had friends,
I was comfortable,

lived a comfortable life
and did exciting things,

uh, but at the end of the year,
I never had money.

It's weird because
you have to live up

to a certain standard,
but then at the same time,

you can't be yourself
all the way.

Because even
when you're in public,

you have people, like,
look at you

and you have to, like, be on
all the time.

When you're in your early 20s,

you're still finding out
who you are.

And so to have that--
that kind of fame

layered on top of that,

I also noticed that it gave you
a false sense of self-worth,

and you would tie
your self-worth

to how popular you were.

I did feel very successful
and that I was doing well,

but I always thought I was
gonna lose it at any minute.

And that's really a thing
that celebrity and actors feel

all the time, that they're--
it can go away in a second.

People like fame. They feel good
when they're famous.

That's why they seek fame.

It's something they desire,
they like,

and when they lose, they miss.

And that has been
my biggest sense,

is that the biggest stress
for most people that are famous

is the possibility of losing it.

That is stressful.

I'd always been
a bit shy and private,

but at the same time,
those early 20s,

I was...
going to Hollywood parties.

I was on set filming

one of the most popular
Disney shows of all time.

I was meeting some
of the most famous people.

I got to hang out
and get to know Zac Efron.

Vanessa Hudgens
was a good friend of mine,

Uh, Ashley Tisdale.

There was also just, like,
insanely fun, exciting ways

to discover my sexuality
in that--in that world,

things like ecstasy
for the first time,

or, you know,
strip poker nights,

and it--it was--
it was incredible.

I remember, wow, it was
pretty emotional when it ended,

like the final episode.

I remember Michael Jacobs
telling us before it ended,

saying, "You're not gonna have
anything like this ever again."

And he meant--he meant that

in a very true way
because he's right.

It was never gonna be
like that again.

After the show,

and after the kind of popularity
faded away,

the fame faded away,

I really felt lost and depressed

because I had wrapped up
my sense of self-worth

in that fame, that recognition,
that character.

So, it was really hard.

It was really hard to--
to come back from that.

It was actually, like,
sort of like a--

just a freight train hit you
because it was over.

Like, all of that was over,

and you like,
what do I do now in life?

I wanted attention a lot.

I was a little naughty.
I wasn't over-the-top naughty.

I started to get
more and more messages.

I really am a sexual performer.

Like, I really am.

And then, of course,
I realized, like, okay, well...

Now I know what I need to do.

After
"Wizards of Waverly Place,"

I was really working
at trying to change

from this supporting character
archetype, this best friend,

I really wanted a chance
to be the leading man.

I was trying
to, like, you know,

find my way in the world.

It was really hard, and it got
harder as the years go on

to say, "Oh, you're an actress.
What have you done?"

And I say, "Boy Meets World."

You, like, have
to start over from scratch.

And they don't want you
to start over from scratch.

So many casting directors
and producers and networks

would say, "No, she did great,
but no, we've seen her on that.

They--People know her from that.
We don't want her."

And they won't let you
get outside that box

that they put you in,
but it's like a coffin.

It really--in the long run,
it is. At first, it's like,

oh, it's a nice little present.
No, it's a coffin.

We all just want
love and attention,

And especially me.
I wanted attention a lot.

I started doing things
that I like to do, like cosplay.

I do a sexy cosplay.
I never thought I could make

a career--side career off of it.

I remember her saying that

she really liked to do cosplay
on the side.

That was something that
she was really interested in,

where she dressed up
as different characters,

and she kind of dipped her toe
and was like,

"Let me see if this,
you know, maybe could work

or if people
are interested in this."

I remember
the first time I knew

I was famous for something
other than "Boy Meets World"

was when was at Comic-Con,
and the guy goes,

"I love you so much,"
and comes up to me,

and I was like, "Oh, thanks."
I thought he was like,

"Oh, 'Boy Meets World' cosplay.
I like it."

He was like,
"I love you on Snapchat.

I watch it all the time,"
and he barely knew

what "Boy Meets World,"
like, was.

So, I had an Instagram page
and...

I dove so deeply
into bodybuilding

and connected with it so well.

I started to get a lot
of self-confidence

as the shape of my body
completely transformed.

I lost a lot of fat in my face.

I put on 20 pounds of muscle.
It's very exciting.

And so I was, uh, really excited
to share that

with my Instagram followers.

And as I started to do that,

I started to get more
and more messages from people

that were like,
"Oh, my God, you're so hot.

You're sexy.
You're, like, beautiful."

You know, a lot of these being

what I thought were, like,
beautiful women

were doing this as well,
and so I'm constantly like,

"Oh, you're cute too,"
you know, and, uh...

but bless my heart, I just,
like, didn't realize

there's an entire industry

built around a thing
called baiting,

which is where people
make fake accounts.

They create these alternate
fake personalities online

and then reach out
to celebrities,

and then for sometimes
months on end,

craft this narrative
and get people comfortable

with sharing nude pictures
of themselves.

The internet is full
of these backwaters.

It's a variety of targets,
a variety of people.

I fell into that trap
probably more than once

and, um, honestly made
kind of an emotional connection

with some of these people
that was--that was authentic.

I was sending nude photos
to these people

I thought I was
in a relationship with

and eventually found out
that those images

were being sold on websites.

There are whole sites
devoted to these photos,

typically hosted, uh,

in the Middle East
or other places, um,

outside of
the U.S. jurisdiction,

and the victims can do nothing.

You go on Reddit, for example.

There--These photographs
are everywhere.

There's groups where these guys,

they have just chat groups
on there about how to do it,

where it's found.
"I saw this, I saw that."

I was really hurt
and really embarrassed.

I think that was
the biggest thing.

I didn't tell anyone
for a long time

'cause I felt so naive and--
and just like...

you know, I truly was just,
like, looking for love

and a connection and, um,
also was just a horny young kid.

There was just fear that, like,
it's always there,

and it could always be found out
at any time.

Anyone could find out.
There could be an article on TMZ

that comes out tomorrow
that's like,

"Former Disney star's naked
all over the internet."

I started posting
other pictures,

and I got more followers,
and it was starting to grow,

and my social media was growing.

But then I started
doing things like

I was,
you know, I'm a daring girl.

I'm a little daring.

I followed her on Twitter,
and I remember I would see her

I would see her post kind of
these, like, you know,

pictures of her maybe topless
or something like that.

And I remember being like,
oh, wow, you know,

this is a career change.

And then they kept trying to

most of the time,

but I got really, like,
flustered and, like, angry

that my pictures
are getting taken down,

even if it was just like

a shadow of a nipple
or something.

But I did get my pictures
removed quite a bit.

You know, I was working
a regular job at an agency,

and my CEO at the time, like,
found some Reddit thread

that had all sorts of my nudes.

He brought it to me, like,
"What is this?" Like, do--

You know, because I think
he assumed that, like,

I did that for a living
or something.

So, I almost lost my job
because of it.

It was pretty traumatic.

If you're victimized like this,

that image is
gonna be there forever.

And the reality is, is that
everybody involved in that

is making money
except for the victims.

Someone else was making money
from this,

and I was struggling to survive.

I couldn't afford
the medicated dog food

that my dog needed
as he's getting older.

And I, of course, like,
did everything I could

to, like, take down these,
take down these.

But you knock one down,
and three more pop up.

So, it was like,
I quickly learned that, like,

there's no--
there's no going back.

You know what? I can't stop you

from putting this stuff
out there, but, man,

I can sure take your power away.

I had so many people, like,
following me because they saw,

"Ooh, you do this cosplay.
I knew you from back then,"

and this was back in 2018.

Um, so I was like, talking to my
fans about it, like, on Twitter.

They were like,
"Why don't you sell content?"

And I didn't even know
what content was.

I said, "Well, I--like what?"

And they go,
"You can take, like,

you know, nudie pictures
and, like,

do a little racier photos
with like, a girl and stuff.

And I was like, well, do I wanna
do something sexual on here?

From the nudes leaking online
and from Instagram,

a lot of people were commenting
more and more on my photos,

especially the ones where
I was shirtless,

and obviously,
really letting me know

that's the kind of content
they're looking for.

That's the kind of content
they really love.

I was, like, tiptoeing into it,
and, um, oh, you know what?

I'm just gonna explore
and see what I wanna do.

It brought a lot
of unwanted attention at first

to the point
where I almost had to delete

all my social media
because I didn't want that.

I wasn't ready for that,
and I felt like

it reminded me of all the stuff

that I'd been
taken advantage of.

So, I would say,
oh, let me do some solo stuff.

Let me try it out and see
how it feels, and I liked it.

And I realized I really am
a sexual performer.

So, I was really fighting
against it for the longest time.

You have to explore

and see who you are as a person.

When I was younger,
I did not do that.

I was--covered everything up.

I repressed so much
about myself,
