A MightyMike77020 Christmas Sub.

Good Evening.

And welcome to London's world famous Christmas play.

Tonight Herb and I will be your host on a...

On a tour through the magical musical world of Christmas carols.

We're gonna hear some really wonderful music, right Rex?

Uh. Thank you, Herb.

Ahem. Thermaticly speaking, will be looking at Christmas

carols as they relate to specific traditions...

Yeah, songs about Christmas trees and stacks of gifts.

Reindeer and jingling bells. Holiday ballets, Santa Claus,

universal joy and Christmas snacks.

There is not a carol about snacks.

First up is that beautiful and haunting American classic,

"We Three Kings."

Composed around eighteen... fifty... seven...

♪ Here we come a-Waffleing along the leaves so green. ♪

- ♪ And God bless you, and send you ♪ - Pardon me. Pardon me,

But your making a lyrical error

in that fine old Christmas carol.

Now the key word my good fellows is wassailing.

Not waffleing.

Well uh, what the heck is wassailing?

Eh, Wassailing yes ah...

If he's so smart whats a wassail.

Yeah, I thought it was waffleing.

Er. Herb?

Well it taste like waffle.

Oo, oo. I want one with extra butter please.

Ah, anyway We Three Kings based on the journey of kings.

O Yeah!

Wasn't that delightful?

Besides Rex, maybe wassail is an old word that means waffle.

After all what could be more Christmassy

than a big stack of syrup drenched waffles.

Humph, As usual, Herb, there you go letting

history take a back seat to your stomach.

The ringing of bells at Christmastime is a

holdover from early mid-winter celebrations.

When the earth was cold and the sun was dying, evil spirits were very powerful.

And one of the ways to drive evil off... was by making a great deal of noise.

As making noise was also fun, bell ringing

ceremonies became a part of the spirit of Christmas.

Uh, next on our program is the exquisite

"Carol of the Bells."

This isn't driving you off.

Grrrrrrr.

Good evening tonight our concert is with the Paris Bell Harmonic.

The house orchestra here at Notre-Dame Cathedral.

I have a hunch they'll give us a wonderful

performance under the baton of Maestro, Quasimodo.

♪ Do do do do do do do do

Bzzzz.

Bzzzz

I lost mine.

Magnificent!

Who was that conductor?

Oh, I don't know, but you know his face sure rings a bell.

One of the most beloved symbols of Christmas is The Christmas Tree

festooned with lights and ornaments.

And candy canes and popcorn chains.

Yes of course Herb.

The Christmas tree has come to represent the

focal point of the yuletide celebration.

O Tannenbaum an exceedingly well known...
