=The Journey of Legend=

=Episode 40=

(Xianren Pass)

The North Wasteland army is invading!

General, what should we do?

Alert the imperial court and General Wu about Xianren Pass's crisis now!

Understood!

The Daxi court agreed to peace talks with North Wasteland!

Why betray your oath and break the agreement?

A nobody like you isn't worthy to speak with me!

Our agreement was with Wu Jie.

(Xianren Pass) Now that he's gone, our pact is void.

General Wu hasn't returned. And there's no military order.

What should we do now?

Beyond Xianren Pass lies Daxi's heartland.

Our parents and families live there.

We'd rather die than let Wastelanders pass!

Hold the gates at all costs!

(Xianren Pass) Hold! Hold! Hold!

Charge!

- Attack! - Attack!

- Attack! - Attack!

(Xianren Pass)

Attack!

Charge!

Where's General Wu?

He's safe for now.

But that might change soon.

Qiushui, from the moment you entered here,

(you doomed General Wu's fate.)

Weren't you so confident in your abilities,

wanting to be the hero who'd save the nation?

Today I'll prove you powerless.

Where is General Wu?

Do you think you can defeat me?

Winning doesn't matter. Just tell me where General Wu is.

Impatient?

General Wu doesn't have much time left.

Beat me, and I'll tell you.

General! General!

The enemy is striking from within the inner city!

General! The gates have fallen!

Back to the inner city!

- Attack! - Attack!

- Attack! - Attack!

- Attack! - Attack!

(Xianren Pass) Attack!

(Wu)

Xiao Kaiyan, you should stop.

Another adventure?

Think you've won?

Xiao Qiushui, you want to save General Wu, but I won't tell you.

What can you do about it?

Release General Wu.

Kaiyan. Kaiyan.

Father? Father!

Kaiyan, you were always the most reliable of my sons.

With you guarding Huanhua Sect, I can rest easy.

Father.

Kaiyan, why are you back so late?

Hungry? What do you want to eat? I'll make it for you.

Mother!

Mother! Yiren!

Kaiyan, I got you an excellent sword.

Come and take a look.

Kaiyan.

Kaiyan, we promised to roam the martial world together.

Let's go now.

Xiao Qiushui! Xiao Qiushui!

Your shortcuts and stolen powers made you go astray.

You've killed so many innocents.

Only by forgetting oneself can one comprehend the universe.

Only through compassion can one connect with all beings.

You've only ever cared about yourself.

How could you understand love is the highest form of enlightenment?

Qiushui,

I see snow falling.

Kaiyan, this is the last time I call you that.

I'm the last of the Xiao family now.

I'll atone for your crimes.

Now tell me. Where's General Wu?

Tell me where General Wu is!

General Wu...

He's... He's...

(Helian Yan, North Wasteland Commander)

The outcome is decided.

Xianren Pass is for North Wasteland to take.

Your struggles only hasten death!

We swear to defend Daxi with our lives!

- With our lives! - With our lives!

- With our lives! - With our lives!

With just Wu Jie's remnants like you?

Cursed Wastelanders! Get out of Daxi!

- Get out of Daxi! - Get out of Daxi!

- Get out of Daxi! - Get out of Daxi!

- Get out of Daxi! - Get out of Daxi!

Fools who can't read the times.

Even your emperor surrenders cities for peace.

Who'll come to save you now?

Step aside or perish!

I, Liang Dou, am leading Daxi's martial world to defend our borders.

Let's see,

is the martial world of Daxi stronger, or are our warriors mightier?

Attack!

Qiushui.

- General! - General!

- It's the general! - General!

All soldiers, heed the order!

- Yes! Yes! Yes! - Yes! Yes! Yes!

Follow me out of the city!

- Attack! - Attack!

- Attack! - Attack!
