ladies and gentlemen our national

anthem why some say the moon why choose

this as our goal and they may well ask

why climb the highest mountain why do

Rice play Texas we choose to go to the

Moon we choose to go to the moon and

this decade and do the other things not

because they are easy but because they

are

hard pushing out into the solar

system not just to visit but to

stay last month we launched a new

spacecraft as part of a re-energized

space program that will send American

astronauts to

Mars by the mid 2030s I believe we can

send humans to orbit Mars and return

them safely to Earth and the landing on

Mars will follow and I expect to be

around to see

it the directive I'm signing today will

refocus America's Space Program on human

exploration and Discovery we will not

only plant our flag and leave our

footprint we will establish a foundation

for an eventual Mission to Mars and

perhaps someday to many worlds

Beyond in our next story NASA has just

sent another shuttle to Mars with 46 new

future colonists aboard upon arrival the

new Martian resident total will now be

521 people so far this year 2024 has

seen the largest influx of colon

making the over 60 million mile Trek to

become full-time inhabitants on the red

planet we leave as we

came and God willing as we shall return

with peace and Hope For All

Mankind America will make those words

come true

here oh no what what

happened I don't believe this

what my watch is broken

your watch is broken yeah we just

wrecked a billion doll spaceship and

you're worried about a $20

watch my grandfather gave this to me to

commemorate our mission of Mars

and this is a Sentimental

piece God he's going to kill me I'm

sorry

Ben you're be okay

it yeah

[Music]

[Music]

Take Five Guys cig I got to be really

really

[Music]

walking feels like we've been walking

for

days I'm so out of sh shape from being

in space for 2

years you'll survive Ben once we set up

camp you can

rest hey you guys give a girl break

[Music]

second he said someone was trying to

kill him what

[Music]

COI there's nothing here to indicate he

was here there's no Footprints there's

no blood there's nothing I swear to God

he was right

here Emma I I don't see anything

Emma are you

sure

yeah yeah I'm I'm I'm

positive I believe you

I I

just we can't rule out the fact that you

might have just been seeing things

doesn't make any sense it's damn hot out

here I don't know you could have hit

your head in the crash and I even

realized it

[Music]

[Music]

let's just keep it between

us what are you doing I'm keeping my

eyes open for any fresh water of his

station you know what I mean you're

purposefully walking behind

me come on you're not still mad about

that birthday prank are

you you replaced my allergenic cream

with light again it was a joke I didn't

think it was very funny besides what if

you or one of the other crew members

broke a bone or suffered plasma bones

you wouldn't be laughing then you'll be

begging for some light again lighten up

otherwise people are going to start

thinking you don't have a sense of

humor I'm laughing on the inside come on

you should have seen what I did to Chief

on her birthday

hey why did you wander away from the

rest of the crew when we

crashed what happened to the

shuttle something just doesn't feel

right about all

this all the power system blew out at

once other than that your guess is as

good as mine

Commander right now the only thing we

can do is to keep a level ahead about

the

situation remember we have a protocol to

follow Don't Preach to

me we're in the middle of nowhere

and you decide to take a nature hike as

soon as we crash and we lost one of our

crew

members was that

protocol we're all shaking up over this

disaster but you seem pretty agitated

right

now maybe when we get back to base camp

I can give you a quick physical

examination no I'm

fine I'm

sorry I'm sorry I'm just feeling a

little bit of anxiety about everything

it's okay I

mean this situation is stressful for all

of

us let's get you back to camp and get

some food in

you come on we'll be all

[Music]

right good to see you in one piece Dr

youir thank you sir

you all right

Sam um I think she might be suffering

from some post-traumatic stress and

possible exhaustion I can speak for

myself I'm

fine this has just been a jarring

experience

sir he Sam we've all had a long

day thank

you where's William I thought he was

with you

guys the part failure just didn't knock

us S course Captain it also damaged the

auto navigation I kind of had to fly Us

in manually since the cockpit took the

blunt of the crush he didn't

survive he saved us

[Music]

all what we at least need a find remains

give them a proper

burial right

there isn't anything left of him to

bury I'm

sorry guess that means you're in charge

now

huh yeah yeah I guess it

does I almost forgot me and the doc

found

something yeah what's that you want to

tell him I found something pretty

unusual I think you should see it

unusual

way well

when I was scouting the area I

discovered a Shack in the middle of

nowhere there could be some supplies in

there yeah that is a new one we should

check it

out hey you too why don't you see if you

can find any Firwood anything that could

be of use yes

Captain got a feeling it's going to be a

cold

night Sam why don't you just why don't

you just stay in rest and me and koi

will go explore this [ __ ] back I'm fine

I don't want to sit on my butt while

everyone else is doing

something okay Sam you in the dock

you're with me thank you sir after you

COI hey why don't we uh why we take a

minute sit down for a second yeah

so would you

stop stop what smacking your lips like a

drunk

sailor no I'm not yeah you are this is

how I eat well go eat someplace

else did you hear that the only thing

I've heard for the past two years is

this guy slurping his food shut up just

listen don't you hear

that I don't hear a damn thing shut up

listen could have swore for a second I

heard music

well it's just the Heat playing tricks

on you and the heat from this Baskin Sun

alone is enough to cause your mild

hallucinations all right let's keep

moving come on we're burning daylight

yes

[Applause]

sir man we get hot down for a second

nice tell me m what are you going to do

when you get back to the cape oh my gosh

that is an easy one a very long hot

bubble bath three days under the covers

watching all the Yankee games I

miss I miss those

things it's crazy how much we take for

granted yeah you what you mean

I'll tell you what I'm going to do I'm

going to take down a nice greasy nushki

bacon

cheeseburger followed by delicious

chocolate shake and then I'm going to

smoke a Cuban cigar sitting in my

favorite chair feet up on the table

nice I can't wait to get

home me

too tonight you're going to have to

settle for some filled rations and smoke

off the

campfire yeah sorry

okay well let's get this wood and let's

go

m m you see that see

what that over there do you see

it what is that come

on what is it we're in luck

the ship's homing

Beacon here I got the just stand back

over

there all right let's look at

this oh my God they're

what's going on

there main Servo is damaged but it's

possible I can repair

it best s I've heard all

day get this back to base camp

yeah I'll be with

it come on here I got

it thanks

Budd God yeah that that is weird way the

hell out here in the middle of

nowhere it's got to be the damnest thing

I've ever seen true but there could be

some water and I got some testing kids

so we should go check it

out yeah unfortunately timer isn't going

to work out for that today see that big

Fireball sinking fast and God only knows

what type of animal life around these

parts at

night I hate to say it but I think we're

going to have to wait till

tomorrow Captain for once I agreeing

with Doc we should go down and see if

there's some water to drink at least for

tonight tomorrow Commander those are my

orders you two go ahead I'll scale down

and get some water and meet you back at

Camp Commander you heard my orders

let's

go

now

[Music]

Commander hey let's

[Music]

go

Ben you got First

Watch yes captain

what you got there

Chief it's what's left of what was the

ship's homing Beacon it is pretty thrash

though I think I'm making some progress

with it though if I can get the sucker

to at least power up headquarters in

theory should receive a distress signal

she thinking Emma stay out and maybe

you'll save us from this situation yet

thanks youer

sweet Aroma of a handrolled

cigar I can't believe you survived that

crash I was saving you for a special

occasion the national meet and greet

with President Trump at the White House

yeah please to meet you president

Trump I know I know it wasn't easy

surviving the crash and being out in the

Heat and bringing home the crew Genesis

1 I can't take all the credit for it but

uh we were just doing our duty so were

they hey how do you think the crew's

holding up

doctor

well pretty good considering everything

that happened today do have my concerns

the longer we stay out here but um I

think we have a pretty good chance of

surviving as long as nobody OV exerts

himself and everybody stays

hydrated hey um I want you to have a

quick look at Hudson let me get a second

just to make sure that she didn't

sustain any injuries that we can't

see Chief looks fine um what do you want

me to be looking out for

exactly I'm the hike up here from the

crash site we stopped to rest had

someone off to use the bathroom and when

she returned she said that you stumbled

up to her injured

bleeding I mean me me and Ben we didn't

see hear anything I don't have any

recollection of that happening that's

exactly why I want you to just give her

a quick checkup yeah yeah no

problem you and do me a favor and just

keep this to yourself yeah yeah of

course hey chief can I have a word

you've been going all day long without a

rest why you sit down have some water

and just relax a little bit okay I want

the doctor to just give you a quick

checkup strictly just

precautionary okay just probably need a

good night of sleep that's

all this isn't request Chief yeah it'll

just take a couple of minutes

Emma okay if you two insist

good

yeah all right sit right there I'm going

to go check on Ben I'll be back in a

little

while well got to say it was a real

pleasure meeting you Mr President by the

way congrats on that wall yours it looks

itch from outter space

bigly just

kidding now seriously looks pretty

big who you talking to

oh hey

Captain how you

doing let me get some of that yeah you

go what do you

think that a hint of

conac yes sir conac dip by the very

finest damn Ben that's a fine cigar it

better be for $7,800 a box are you

serious yeah I only get the best Cubans

Captain jeez that's $7,800 a box that's

like $300 a GU

yeah can you really put a price on total

Aly compared to something like this yeah

for $7,800 a box I

can hell though I mean if you were

buying them I'll smoke them all day long

breathe

in breathe

out okay again breathe

in

out breathe

in out

again breathe

in and

out yeah your breathing sounds fine now

let me check for concussion just follow

my

finger yeah everything looks good it's f

you still stressed about that

watch

yeah I know it's trivial considering our

situation right now but this

[Music]

thing it's it meant a lot to me you know

coming from a political family my dad

was a congressman grandfather was a

Senator you know put a lot of pressure

on me yeah I bet I bet it

does those two those two were really

really hard on me you know they wanted

me to to become a part of the family

become part of the family Legacy and you

know I had no political aspirations

myself

so I sort of like the black sheep of the

family you

know but that all changed the day I told

my grandfather and rest of my

family I'm doing this mission of

Mars I'll never forget that day

grandfather called me into his study

pull pulled out his finest Scotch poured

me a little glass was best scotch ever

tasted by the

way and he said to

me you finally did it son you get to

carry on the family Legacy I'm proud of

you and then he pulled out this and he

gave it to me

now that's something I'm never going to

forget you know meeting other people's

expectations isn't an easy thing all the

time appre to the choir on that one

Ben I'm a second generation military man

my dad he was a highly decorated officer

served from Vietnam to

Kuwait you could imagine shoes I had to

fill

my granddad though small business owner

Little Mom and Pop

restaurant he always thought that maybe

I would take over the family

business but luckily he realized that I

did not have a lick of culinary

skill and

eventually he was

okay he was happy I chose to follow My

Father's

Footsteps well you could choose your

friends captain

she can't choose your

family

right well

Ben I think that's enough of this Dr

film moment for

me I'm go check see how the Homing

Beacon's coming yes Captain good

chat see you at night

F copy

that welcome to the Genesis 1 Beacon

configuration

protocol looks like you are attempting

to initiate the ship's beac would you

like some

[Music]

assistance danger the ship's Beacon has

not been configured

properly please contact the system

administrator working as fast as I can

Captain this isn't

easy my

apologies patient is in my front danger

reboot failed just that your

uh your pacing servs shutting down all

systems in 5 4 3 2 1 goodbye your pacing

is a little bit

[Music]

distracting I'm just going to go ahead

and have a seat over here welcome to the

Genesis one Beacon configuration

protocol looks like you are attempting

to initiate the ship

[Music]

congratulations you have initiated the

beacon thank you for using the Genesis 1

Beacon configuration protocol the beacon

is now ready all right it's ready sir

by all

means ready to transmit and that's a

beautiful sound have a nice day not bad

Emma thank

you resourcefulness of Air Force

Engineers never sees the amaz

me don't celebrate just

yet what's the matter just that the

signal on the beacon is limited sir it's

not going to clear these mountains

can't you somehow boost the power and

get a signal through well the power

supply is already insufficient to reach

anyone from this altitude we we'd have

to be activated at least 1,500 ft higher

than our current

position I mean I might be able to set

the signal to 12200 ft but I I I can't

guarantee

it looking at these mountains 12200 ft

might as well be 10,000

ft we don't have the energy or the

equipment to mount task like that we

perish long before we reach the

top was a good Tri Chief we just got to

find another

[Music]

option you know I'm not the glass have

empty

tight it's been 14 hours since we

crashed with no rescue in sight

why hasn't anyone come for us they

probably lost track of us when we enter

the earth

atmosphere it could be a while till they

find us let's be realistic for all we

know they think we're dead and they're

not even

coming that's a reality we might have to

face but not yet not after one

day no now we we figure out how to stay

alive survive this

desert civilization can't be that far

away

I might have an idea

sir spit it out Chief anything's better

than nothing well judging by the debris

scattered from our crash site our DRC

was probably ejected 10 Mi east of

here that's just a guess there's no way

we can accurately know where the capsule

was ejected or if it was destroyed in

the crash and we don't want to risk heat

exhaustion just for a wild goose chase

okay so say that that's the crash site

right

about 60° to the north of here we see

this mountain with the jagged Peak about

130° we see this large crater so if we

see this Mount over here and this other

mount to the right of us that would put

us on a line here which would have the

location of the communication radio

about there yeah she's right as soon as

the auto navigation system leveled us

out the communications radio would have

been ejected with the rest of payload

right

then we can call for help I just

can't nice Chief thank you Captain

tomorrow at dawn we divide into

teams you me and Ben will search for the

radio the doctor and Samy you guys can

check out this mysterious Shack see if

there's any supplies anything that might

be useful with all due respect Raymond

let's forget the

radio Doc and I can do the Recon and the

rest of you can just stay here and can

serve what little resources we have left

this was a mission briefing

Commander you have my orders running

around for communications radio that

probably got destroyed in the crash is

just increasing our chances of not

surviving we need to conserve the

resources gather what we have and we

need to hike out of here as soon as

possible you've been heard but you have

your orders what's a waste it's a waste

of time it's a waste of resources it's

foolish look I wasn't ask me put in

charge but I am either you fall in line

or you step to the side the choice is no

this this conversation is

over you can take the doctor's watch use

that time to think about how the chain

of command

Works pleasure

[Music]

[Music]

sir captain I have a word with you sure

not I believe the commander is suffering

from severe anxiety and possibly mental

breakdown I noticed the change in her

behavior before we left Ms I didn't

bring it to your attention

because it wasn't that serious but I'm

beginning to see a pattern here

especially with that questioning every

move you make

[Music]

then we better keep a watchful eye on

them last thing we need in our hands is

a

mutiny

agreed hopefully sometime alone we'll

settle her

[Music]

down I'm just I'm not quite

understanding why the commander is

acting so strange

it's just the stress this entire

situation she's not handing it very well

yeah I mean I went I went to school with

her and she she passed those tests

without breaking us away I she was

so she was so on it

I worried about her it's obvious

stricklin has become a danger to the

crew

what can we do to detain her if

something goes wrong I do have a few

sedatives that

would safely immobilize

her just

that

good you

know this guy reminds me of my uncle's

pH in nagiso

Nagano I used to go up there um when I

was a boy and uh my mother thought if I

took on some responsibility I learned a

few things about being a man and uh she

was right of course and I loved it it

was my job to feed the farm animals up a

d tosing grains to the chicken and hate

for the

goats um the only thing I didn't like

was feeding the pigs it was so filthy

you know pigs rolling around in their

own

[Laughter]

pieces it was so

disgusting but right now

I'll give just about anything to be back

on the phone Mee deep in the big

[ __ ] that is a disgusting story do don't

tell don't tell me you never been on the

phone

before nope can't say I have really yeah

I grew up on the outskirts of

Detroit dangerous

neighborhood gang bangers drug dealers

on the corner

only thing I ever remember hearing my

entire childhood was

gunfire but I was

lucky my dad he was able to get us out

of there when he was promoted in

rank we relocated to Travis Air Force

Base I was

about 14 when we

moved that's where I met

down she grew up down the street

her and her older brother David he was

in my father's

command he was a good

guy he really looked out for me I looked

up to

him I was

really first time the Air Force ever

peaked my

interest before then I was just

a angry military

brat all right who's hungry

okay guys we got chicken with bees thank

you let's see mashed potatoes with corn

beef thank you

want that's for

me beef with vegetable medley close

enough you think after few years I would

know how to open these

things you guys really eat this stuff

not you likeing

back it smells like beef no you don't

like beef yeah but this is

chicken Beggars can't be choosers though

no e

don't

toast to

science to our

country to Colonel

Heaton and the best damn crew I've ever

served

with Cheers Cheers Cheers

Cheers what made you decide to join the

program to go to

Mars

astronomy yeah astronomy I

guess I grew up looking at the stars

through my mother

telescope I've always loved the

Stars what do you love most about them

M okay so say say a star is 100 light

years away from

Earth therefore the light coming from

the Star which carries its information

takes roughly around 100 years to reach

Earth's

atmosphere however if in the meantime

the star dies we would only be looking

at a 100 years before the star was no

longer

visible

meaning our visible star field changes

roughly 50 to 100 years right

exactly well then maybe you can tell me

why the Moon looks way bigger than

normal right

now um most likely the Earth's rotation

is bringing us closer to it and without

all the city lights

interference we're getting a super Clear

View and it's just beautiful tonight

too oh do you guys

remember that first moment sitting in

the ship getting ready to take off from

the

cape it's going

up ahead of you there's just darkness

and

stars behind you's

Earth you guys remember that

yeah yeah you know I was I was really

excited cuz

I don't know ever since I was little I

wanted to be an astronaut you know I

used to build the uh apoll 11 mini out

of paper and uh so I was really excited

just

um the only thing I regretted was um you

know I couldn't spend any time with my

son I mean he

was he was only 3 months old when I I

left he's a little

you that's

adorable he's so

cute thank you any you

sure you will get to see him

soon yeah I haven't spent any time with

him for 2 years and I don't I don't know

what he looks like anymore

so you know I haven't around a campfire

since I was 12 years

old how about Twinkle Twinkle Little

Star you want to sing a

song that's children's song I thought

that's what you were saying

Ben Jay she all right she wants to sing

a song let's sing a

song about Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

oh come on Amy being so cliche right now

this children's

song One the SS go marking in

2006 Oh My Darling Clementine what about

that one oh man I remember that one Oh

My Darling Clementine it's good one I

don't think I have ever heard that song

not even CUO no okay no we don't have

that in Japan oh listen us singing and

then jump in when he feel comfortable it

repeats itself

soting for a mine a Miner 49er and her

daughter

oh

[Music]

[Music]

myling oh my God

it's moments like

these I hate to say it guys but it's

getting

late we should probably get some shut ey

Oh

[Music]

Captain we have a really long day

tomorrow

yeah good

night good night it's been an

hour night everybody

cheers

ow no p you know the ground's full of

rocks right oh God sleeping on the

ground like a typical Asian

[Music]

[Music]

all

[Music]

[Music]

I me you so

[Music]

much morning lieutenant

where you C

today I'm rise and shine move out in

10 where's the commander right here

early bird gets the worm we feeling all

right Sam never better sorry about last

night I apologize for the Outburst

apology

accepted I don't know what do you think

she seems a lot better today I'm pretty

sure she'll be fine

so all right everyone let's move

out it's dry as born nothing's going to

survive out

here I don't know how much more of this

heat I can take

this heat is no worse than an average

day in the Sahara you can handle

it is that part of the

plan what in God's name are you talking

I hope there's water around here this

place looks like a nuclear testing site

let me check the right

level this whole place is radioactive we

should get out of here not without

checking the water first

[Music]

now let me test it first the water could

be

radioactive so

thirsty thank you

testing

testing is it working looks like the

unit is powering up but I think we're

only going to have one shot at this

before the battery is drained how do we

know what's working then well the only

way we'll really know is if somebody

answers okay

[Applause]

electrical

someone you did great

Chief hopefully will be able to track

our

signal we've got to stay

positive Emma you did a fantastic job

okay we're going to get rescued and it's

going to be because of you I just I

needed one more goddamn second piece of

crab

equipment what if we charge this battery

using the Beacon's power

source yeah I thought about it but I

would need a cross converter to bridge

the two batteries together and I can't I

can't build a converter without a power

cell so that's not going to

work I have an idea what if we take the

Homing Beacon battery hardwired into

this device and maybe that will give us

more juice to try it

again yeah actually I can get the radio

working again by using the Beacon's

battery

pack well that settles that good

thinking Ben

thanks

Captain thank you man

everything that happened you can't be

serious 1940s America was a

closed-minded destructive Society by our

standards if we call the military and

and what tell them we're we're time

traveling astronauts from the future

what do you think they'll

do lock us up in a paded room

for a while exactly or

worse worse what could be

worse what if they did believe

us well they probably send us to Area

51 it heavily interrogate us and unlock

Us in that said padded room for the rest

of our lives never to be seen or heard

from ever again yeah that's worse

give me your

watch why do you need give me your watch

good evening folks this is Charles

Miller reporting from just outside

Roswell where it's been reported that

some sort of spacecraft had crashed just

a day ago the intelligence office at the

Roswell Army Airfield announced this

morning that the base had come into

possession of crashed debris from a

spaceship or Flying Saucer of Unknown

Origin according to information released

by Major Rick Donaldson intelligence

officer in charge the small piece of

debris was brought in by the local

sheriff who was in the area after

reports came in of a loud explosion just

outside of Roswell the sheriff notified

the military base that he had found this

strange burnt metal not far from this

local Rancher's property major Donal is

currently here at the crash site with a

small unit of men and they're recovering

debris as we speak let's see if we can

get him to answer a few questions for

our

viewers there he is right

there major Donson sir major Donaldson I

have a few words with you our viewers

are wondering what this piece is right

here stop filming this right just a few

questions if I can please stop filming
