It's move-out day here at my college.

My name is Aiden Ross. I'm 20 years old.

And I'm currently a sophomore at Texas A&M University

studying industrial engineering.

I am fascinated by the technical side of things,

but I also love to be personable.

Here's my bed -- super-duper lofted to make room

for my beautiful electric guitar, my ring light,

and my looper for, um, making music.

During high school, I performed at our family farm a lot.

Oh, my gosh. [ Goat bleats ]

The farm is a agritourism business.

We have over 24,000 strawberry plants,

and people will go out there and pick them.

We also have llamas, alpacas.

The difference between an alpaca and a llama

is an alpaca is smaller.

And ours have afros. I kid you not. [Laughs]

I am so freaking excited to do this.

we were just blown away because

he has such a unique quality to his voice.

Peyton: Don and Susan came up to me after a show on a Sunday,

gave me a very large tip.

He actually started crying. Yeah.

He's just like one of our kids.

We love him to death.

I consider both of them my family away from home.

My Georgia family is what I call them.

Peyton: I love my family at home,

but I brought my superfans to blinds

because they gave me the push

and the confidence to get me here to this moment.

Flying to L.A. to be on "The Voice"

was very exciting.

At the same time, when I landed,

unfortunately, my appendix ruptured, a lot of pain.

I needed to have surgery immediately.

In the hospital bed, not knowing if I was

going to be able to be here

after all this hard work,

it was extremely scary.

For the blind audition, I'm singing

"Talking to the Moon" by Bruno Mars.

There's a specific line in the song.

"At night, when the stars light up my room,

I sit by myself talking to the moon."

that I could hold on to that could get me through

that moment without expressing that out loud.

three days after such a scary moment.

I actually started doing these theater camps growing up.

Stefany: He didn't practice at home

because he wouldn't want to sing in front of us.

And he got on stage, and I was just blown away.

From there, my love of music just grew.

I go to Western Michigan University.

I'm studying musical theater.

which is the theater.

I got the opportunity to sing with Broadway stars

for this event in New York,

to being asked to be a part

of a brand-new original musical,

where we did the New York debut to a sold-out crowd.

If little me, who started out

singing and dancing on a stage like this,

he wouldn't believe it.

Doing theater my entire life

has really prepared me to story-tell.

Ryan: I am Ryan Mitchell. I'm 25 years old.

And I'm from Los Angeles, California.

Music has always been a part of my life.

My dad had a little home studio.

I was always so intrigued

by his ability to create amazing songs.

When I was about 8 years old,

my older sibling started a band with me.

We had, like, this Everly Brothers

type of thing going with the harmonies,

and we played at the Whisky a Go Go

when we were like 12.

You know, I really felt like a rock star,

and I was like, "Man, this is what I want to do."

I sing a lot of alternative rock, a lot of pop punk.

So, I'm gonna be performing

"Cigarette Daydreams" by Cage the Elephant.

There we go.

It's a song about growing up too quick a little bit,

and I can relate to that.

I was smoking cigarettes in high school.

I was in with a bad crowd. I was up to no good.

That kind of reached a breaking point for me

around the time that COVID happened.

Everything kind of started falling apart.

I realized that I was dependent on alcohol.

I started pushing away my family, my friends.

I was isolating.

I was drinking like a handle of vodka a day.

And I ended up living out on the street for a while.

And eventually I decided, after looking in the mirror,

that I needed to reach out for help.

It was super tragic 'cause he was the happiest kid

you could ever imagine.

I didn't really fathom the depth

of what he was going through.

Ryan got to some pretty dark places.

But he went to this rehab facility,

and we sent him an emergency box

with, like, a recorder, a bunch of albums.

And he kept sending me these MP3s with a new song.

And I'm like, "Okay, he's gonna be okay."

* Mind over matter * [ Voice breaking ] And I was like...

[ Sniffles ]

..."He's gonna make it."

* Mind over matter * It was really tough.

But he got better and better. * You know you're on my mind *

And now he's here.

I love you. I love you, too.

I ended up getting sober,

and I'm still sober four years later.

I think that music really kind of saved my life.

* And if the world don't break *

Ryan: Getting help

was one of the best things I've ever done.

And I hope that other people that are watching this,

if they're going through something rough,

maybe that'll give them a little bit of hope.

* And when the seasons change * I am ready to make music my life.

For me, I think what scared me a bit

was it's so stylized.

And I think the big question for me,

in my little pea brain was,

And I think, not knowing that, I chickened out.

But I just felt like I could have heard

different sides of it.

this is something that I would have never imagined
