company. They've had a couple of matches over this year, but none more

important, none more prestigious than this one for the vacant Women's World

Championship. Let's tell it as it is right from the back. Io Skye is a heavy

favorite in this one. Why? Because she is a proven commodity at... this level,

and she's facing off against a woman who we all expect to be at the top of the

ladder for at least the next 10 years here in WWE, but you don't get to claim

that until you've proven it.

And Stephanie McHare looking for her watershed moment here in WWE, looking to

win her first major championship.

She looks to break this waist lock of Io Sky.

Io Sky held the world championship for 245 days before Naomi cashed in.

There

have

been many people over the history of WWE who have been projected to be the

top star in the future and did not make it. I hope that isn't the case with

Stephanie Becker, but we're going to learn a lot tonight against Io Scott.

But it's a different ballgame tonight. You're under the bright lights, such a

historic night here on ESPN. It's part of WrestlePalooza. Eosky has much more

experience than Stephanie does in these big WWE moments. Does that matter? The

whole world's promoting this match, this event, this evening.

everybody's talking about it. It's ESPN, you've got billions of dollars in the

building sitting ringside. And then once the bell rings, and you find the water

and it's level.

That's where Stephanie's at right now. I think she realizes this is another

match. I completely agree with you, Pat. I think the adrenaline is now pumping.

It's overtaking the nerves for Viqueur, and now Viqueur is starting to move

through the gears, and we're seeing the best of her. And the other thing is we

talk a lot about Viqueur, but Eel Sky has had a lot on her mind as of late,

situation between her.

That's really weighed on her personally. I had an opportunity to talk to Io

earlier today, and she talked about how that's really been in her head over the

past month or so. I think you're probably right up until the bell rang

Now a nice waist walk by Cody Rhodes. Remember what McIntyre said coming into

this matchup, Wade. He wanted to do this the right way.

Certainly started out that way, and that is a clean break. A clean break. The

official Ryan Trant asking Cody to come out of the corner. Now McIntyre with

that high elbow.

Cody, who came out the aggressor in this one, which really isn't in his nature.

He's a technician.

He's a mover. You don't want to go blow for blow with someone bigger and

stronger than you like McIntyre. But let's not forget what McIntyre did in

claim war through the announce table. Plus, Cody Rhodes, five weeks of his

Well, that's Cody's mistake. And Drew has completely suckered him into that.

a competitor at Cody's level, that isn't a huge deal. It's something you can

normally skip over fairly easily. But I'm keeping an eye on this now.

McIntyre sent over the top rope. So agile for a big man. Cody now.

McIntyre simply a cheap, no, 280 pounds of rippling muscle that moves like a

cruiserweight. Yeah, that a disaster kick by Rose. And now Cody with a

dive to McIntyre.

Driving McIntyre to the floor.

He seems to be shaking off whatever cobwebs were there earlier on.

Seems back in rare form.

And Cody again, suicide dive. McIntyre able to intercept him. And now driving

Cody! Spine first to the post.

Cody just underestimating the size and power of Drew McIntyre. And now tasting

it first hand.

McIntyre just swinging Rhodes over the Spanish announce table.

Practically cleared the table.

That was so effortless from McIntyre. And look at the dark pits of the ice.

apron. You're right on the hardest part of the ring, head first. And if there

weren't issues before, there certainly are now. And McIntyre's about to

exacerbate the problem.

And this is just a masterclass from McIntyre. He knows the weakness.

He smells it. Into the cover. Smell of a championship. And a kick out at two.

himself far too thinly and completely underestimated the threat of the

psychopath. Well, Cody hasn't been able to put together any sustained offense

tonight.

I mean, he looked good for about... Two minutes in the early goings, and then

the cobwebs came to the fore.

And this right here is the pace that McIntyre wants.

And there goes 6 '6", 280 pounds. Cody Rhodes, though, climbs the ropes, hooks

McIntyre. And again, Cody's showing some flashes here in this match with a super

flash. No!

And look, even if you execute that move, you take a hell of a landing yourself,

and Cody...

Drew takes an impact, but watch Cody's head.

And Cody hasn't moved since.

And you're still concerned after the head injury suffered last night at the

hands of McIntyre. It's 100 % it. Look, I've been in there before. Normally,

that happens. You need at least a week off. Cody didn't get that.

He doesn't have that luxury.

in that one, tried to hold him up. He just didn't have enough strength.

Cody was able to capitalize.

And now Rhodes, look at McIntyre who fights out of it.

Knee to the head there again, rocking the brain of Cody.

Kick to the face by Rhodes. Second rope now for the champion.

McIntyre with a Glasgow kiss. Remember, he delivered that last night. The end of

McIntyre knew exactly how to hurt Cody, how to take Cody out of his game, and it

has worked a treat.

McIntyre can barely stand, but he's still throwing offense, and he's still

dreaming of winning that championship.

major questions for how Drew McIntyre is not currently holding the gold. This

was brilliant from Cody, kicking out from a claymore, and we know how tough

Rhodes did.

That's what McIntyre needs, something else to complain about.

Well, this is the referee getting involved for no reason.

McIntyre would still get Cody Rhodes with a Glasgow kiss.

He was going for the kill shot here, but his leg gave out on him. Gave out

because he smashed it through the table moments earlier.

And that window, when it was open, Cody Rhodes knew victory was in sight and

made no mistakes. One cross Rhodes later and a successful retention against all

odds for Cody Rhodes.
