Previously on The Amazing Race Australia -

the competition reached new heights in Africa...

Zimbabwe!

What?!

..where the rivalries went wild.

Today is hashtag... The end of Jasmin and Jerome.

Come on, boys, give us a leg.

Tom and Tyler walked to the win...

You're the first team to check in.

..but Sid and Ash narrowly swerved elimination.

This is a non-elimination leg.

Tonight, as our African safari continues in Zimbabwe...

Unbelievable. Was something out of a picture book.

Best moment of my life.

..teams go back to school...

We had the whole community there, cheering us on. Really, really nice.

..to learn some hard lessons.

Do that. Do that. Ooh!

Our anxiety, stress, and like, fear went from here

to, like, zhooo.

But break the rules...

You put too much in. Good?

Are you joking? Rules are made to be broken.

..and you'll find yourself...

You know the rules. Take a seat, please.

This can't be happening.

..in detention.

This is the Zambezi National Park,

located on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe.

This untouched savannah covers almost 5,000 square kilometres

and is home to millions of animals.

It's from here teams are about to begin the eighth leg

of the Amazing Race Australia.

Teams will depart in the same order they arrived at the pit stop

during the last leg.

Oh, road block.

"Who's ready to gorge themselves?"

A road block is a challenge that only one team member can perform.

For this road block, that person is gonna have to throw themselves

headfirst into this challenge.

Time for one member from each team...

Time f...

Time for one member from each team to gorge themselves..

This is Batoka gorge.

It's 316 metres wide

and 120 metres high

with the hippo-filled Zambezi River flowing right through the middle.

Our teams are gonna have to complete a leap of faith

and hope they don't become hippo food.

Go!

And when they get back to the top, they'll receive their next clue.

You. That's me.

With six teams left, there is incredibly strong competition

so you really can't drop the ball at all.

You. Yeah, I'll do that.

Oh, no. OK, that's me. I'm doing this one.

It's a giant swing, Joey.

You can do it. You can do it.

Before we started this race, it was agreed between Viv and myself

that if it had anything to do with the bungee jump or heights,

I'd have to be the one to take it

because she would just have an absolute mental breakdown.

"Who's ready to gorge themselves?"

I'll do it. Femi's gonna do it.

You ready, Femi? I am so ready.

But you're so scared.

We're kind of getting sick of hanging out towards the back

So let's see if we can maybe push it, maybe get a third, second place.

That was kind of the mindset we had.

Wow! Let's do it.

Let's do it! Thank God you have that.

Far out.

OK, you take it. I'll take it. Let's go.

Coming so close to getting eliminated yesterday

made us more determined to win today.

The rise of the phoenix.

We're not worthy of being at the bottom of the pack.

So... never say die.

Yep. Zombies.

Can't kill us.

Let's do it! Yeah, baby. Let's do it.

This is a HUGE gorge in the scheme of gorges

that I've seen in my lifetime.

When I got to look over the gorge just a little bit before Tom

and it was unbelievable.

It was a 70m freefall drop

into just something out of a picture book.

I actually read a story right before we left of this exact gorge.

The buckles came undone, the guy fell down.

You know what, Tyler? This is you, being a bad bloke.

I'm just telling ya... Maybe he is the jealous type.

Get out there, get it done, Joe.

Joey! How are ya?

Get up there, Tommy.

Thank you.

All I could see was water and rocks at the bottom

so I just hope the rope industry is strong in Zimbabwe and, ah...

I've heard a few stories it wasn't.

70m drop.

Jump headfirst, dive through.

Feet back together.

I knew that Tom's a bit scared of heights...

Oh!

Here we go!

My heart sunk.

Whoo-hoo!

So sick!

That's hectic!

Ooh!

Oh, that was one of the best things I've ever done.

Tom loves this stuff, so I'm happy he got a chance to do it

but I'm a bit jealous that I didn't. So sick.

That was the best thing I've ever done.

It's pretty sketchy.

When I got released down, I just let out a hysterical scream,

but it was scream of joy. And a little bit of pain?

A little bit of pain.

Just a little bit.

- Well done. Here's your clue. - Thank you.

Ooh. Fast forward.

a fast forward is the single biggest advantage of the race.

A team that successfully completes a fast forward

can skip directly to the pit stop.

It's a high-risk, high-reward challenge.

And until one team completes it, this fast forward is up for grabs.

For this fast forward,

one team will have to identify African animal dung.

What do you reckon?

I reckon we're in first, we've got a lead, let's just do the fast forward.

Yeah.

- You right, Rod? - I'm pumped.

- You're loving it. - You guys all love this.

Like, I'll be shitting bricks up there, but it's gonna be fun.

Alright. Joey.

Come on, come here, fist pump.

You're right.

You can do it.

- Has anyone vomited on this before? - No.

Maybe today. Maybe today.

Will I be the first, do you reckon?

That looks so scary.

Ah, wait, where should I hold onto?

Let me just help you. Just hold here?

Yes. Just like that. Just easy holding.

OK. Ready? Not really.

My heart started racing.

OK. Just take a deep breath.

Five, four, three, two, one. Check out.

Whoa! Go, Joey!

Oh, my God!

Viv!! You owe me so much!! Yes!

Oh, my God! Whoo! Whoo!

I just jumped, didn't even think about it.

I had a pretty big breakfast, I was hoping that I wouldn't munt it up,

but having two other teams behind me, I just had to go.

So proud of you, Joe.

"Who gives a crap? Be the first team to correctly identify

all the African animal dung to earn the..."

Nup. Let's leave it.

We don't wanna risk it. We can't risk it.

We assume Tom and Tyler would take the fast forward.

We were hoping they would do it,

just so Sid and Ash wouldn't take it.

"Drive yourselves to Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve

"and train with an anti-poaching unit."

Poaching is a global epidemic,

nowhere more so than here in Africa.

Teams will travel to Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve,

home to the big five.

Under the watchful eye of the anti-poaching unit,

teams will have to locate items left behind by illegal poachers.

The five items they need to find are

cigarettes, an axe,

bullets, matches and a fire pit.

Once they have all five items, they'll receive their next clue.

And hopefully, let these guys live a little bit longer.

Let's go. Let's go.

- I think it might have been there. - No, there was no flag.

Just focus on driving, I'll navigate.

This is gonna be crazy, though, man, I'm excited for you.

I'm so scared, hey.

You've done this before? Bungee jumping, not ziplining.

Is this zipline? This is the swing.

Swing.

How you feeling?

I got this.

It feels like it's pulling you off.

Mate, you've got this!

Whoo!

I love you, mate! You're doing so well!

That was the best thing ever!

You slayed it!

I always so, so, so, so proud of him.

Let's just go there. Let's go. Let's go.

We're off to Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve.

And we need to be looking out for it.

On the side, there we go. Ooh!

We actually made the decision to do the fast forward.

We know if we start the fast forward and we fail,

that could ultimately put us to the back of the pack.

Such a big risk to take.

How are you? Morning. Tyler. I'm Ben.

This is the identification station.

You are going to identify the animal dung

from different types of animals.

This fast forward is actually right up our alley

because we are fluent in talking crap.

"Very human like", the baboon.

What do your shits look like? My shit looks a little like that.

Let's go. Three, two, one. Go for it!

Oh, that is so sick! What the hell?

Freefalling was the scariest moment of my life,

but the best moment of my life.

I reckon we just go with this. OK, let's go.

Let's go. Let's go.

I don't know if I can even watch.

Like, I'm like, actually shaking, I can't.

Oh, my God!

Oh, my God.

I don't think I was relieved

until Jerome had two feet back on the ground.

Here we go, babe, let's do it. What a start to the morning.

That's too many teams in front of us. Yeah.

Let's just ride it out. We're the fifth team behind.

Yep. Let's do it. Let's go.

There's an arrow... Going the right way.

So we made a big mistake.

We went the wrong way. Put us back a good half an hour.

This way. Quick, quick, quick.

Oh, speed bump. Argh!

As the last leg was a non-elimination,

the team that came in last will have to complete a speed bump,

a disadvantage in their first challenge.

For Sid and Ash, they'll both have to complete the gorge swing.

You've done this before? No, I've never done anything like this before.

I'm not even gonna look, I'm just gonna run and jump.

If you can.

"Rhino, very round and dark brown in colour."

There was a brief description of each animal

and what their poo looked like

so we were reading the short descriptions

and trying to align them.

I wouldn't say that's very round. But it's dark brown.

It was actually a pretty difficult challenge.

We didn't know how long it was gonna take.

There were big poos, hairy poos...

Do you reckon that's sort of round?

Can we just do the ones that we know first

instead of getting caught up on...? Can we just go in order?

I struggled, Tyler struggled a lot.

"Calcium intake of the hyena." So... Why are we skipping around?

Because we don't know those two! Well, that's gotta be hyena.

Yes! So let's just do the ones we know!

We had an uphill battle from the start.

Read it out. "Hippopotamus. Dark in colour

"and broken into pieces due to flicking tails."

That's broken into pieces. That's broken into pieces. Is it dark in colour?

And we just knew that we had to smash it out

if we wanted to get first place again.

I wouldn't say that's dark.

Can we just go, like, in order or something?

You're just jumping around.

Why are we skipping around? Because we don't know those two.

Well, that's gotta be hyena. Yes.

So let's just do the ones we know.

This Fast Forward challenge was to identify 10 different pieces of poo

and correctly align them with their respective animals.

Hippopotamus. Read it out.

Dark in colour. And broken into pieces.

That's the one most broken into pieces.

It's such a big risk to take.

If we start the Fast Forward, and we fail,

that could ultimately put us to the back of the pack.

This could be a massive advantage to us

and take us straight to the pit stop.

We wouldn't have to do anymore challenges.

It's either gotta be that one or that one.

But that's not broken into pieces.

That's solid. Come on.

I personally think that's hippopotamus. But if you want to try that.

It's that. I just think that's not broken up at all.

Let me show you how this is broken up.

Broken. Broken.

That's not. That's so solid.

I don't know how you can say that's more broken up than that.

I really thought that I was going to get out of this,

but due to the speed bump we've got to do it, both of us.

I can't even speak.

Holy...

We're under pressure. We were coming in last.

We had to get it done as quickly as possible to catch everyone else.

This is a bit terrifying

because it's like jumping into a rocky face of mountain.

That swing looked pretty vicious. I was actually shitting myself.

Three, two, one, go!

Oh, my God.

Whoo! Whoo!

Oh, my God.

Let's go! We need to catch up.

Anti-poaching over here.

Alright. Let's go, Joe.

We were looking for evidence of poaching.

It's so hard, Joe. You don't even know what you're looking for.

It was definitely difficult.

Everything just looks like wallpaper in the wild.

This is where our attention to detail comes in really well, Viv.

Welcome to Victoria Falls private game reserve.

We really appreciate you guys coming to help us

go out there and uncover

and see all the signs left by poachers in the area.

Our ranger said the big five wildest animals are here.

We were like, "Is this even safe?"

Max, you're not carrying that rifle for no reason.

He's like, "Oh, yeah, of course. We might use it."

-Needle in a haystack sort of stuff, isn't it? -I know.

It's so hard.

Look for things like cigarette butts

and that sort of stuff, I think.

We had never really come across poaching in Australia.

It was just crazy to think that there's people out there

trying to kill these magnificent animals.

Oh, Tim. Is that a fire? Fire.

Am I going to die?

Uh, just close your eyes.

Time is now. Oh, my God.

Oh, my God. I can't.

I thought this is the end. I'm going to die.

Oh, my... Three, two, one...

Oh, my God.

Whoo! Holy shit. Oh, my God.

Onwards and upwards.

I knew we had a bit of ground to make up.

I felt quite confident that we could do it.

Thank you. Thank you.

"Explore the surrounding bush

"and correctly identify evidence of illegal poachers

"to receive your next clue. OK.

It doesn't smell great this stuff, hey?

Probably because it's crap. Yeah.

Oh, this is so nice. Love getting my hands dirty.

Oh, that's fresh.

There was a few obvious poos that we eliminated to start.

The elephant poo was obviously the biggest.

Rhino.

Giraffe. I've got some giraffe over here.

Hyena was a white colour,

which it said was a different colour from the rest.

This one's an impala.

Oh...

Oh, you're such a dick. It just fell over.

You're such a dick, that's why no-one likes you.

Shit all in my shirt, you...

Oh. Can we have a check?

This could be a massive advantage for us.

It would have taken us straight to the pit stop.

And it would have taken a lot of pressure off.

Some of the faeces were quite similar,

so there was a couple that we could change around.

This is incorrect. Try again.

OK. Incorrect.

It's critical that we just take our time to find every item

because we don't want to have to come back and do it again.

Matches.

Oh, matches. Matches. OK.

There's an axe. Or a hatchet.

Just call it an axe. Hatchet.

That's what it's called. Yeah... as long as...

Hatchet.

Quietly. Quietly. Quietly.

Here we go. Cigarettes, axe, bullets, fire...

Matches.

Congratulations, guys.

Did they get it? Yeah.

"Drive yourselves to Chisuma Primary School

"and search the grounds for the Suggestion Box."

Teams will now drive themselves to Chisuma Primary School

where they'll find their next clue within the school grounds.

Let's go. Let's go.

Nice. Everyone's here. Yes!

We realised there was teams currently doing the challenge,

which was really motivating for us

because we thought we have a chance now to overtake the other teams.

Tim and Rod are really tight with Sid and Ash.

How did you guys go?

This is an opportunity to use our alliance

and potentially get the answer.

Axe. Yeah.

Matchbox. Matchbox.

This time we thought we'd be smart.

We didn't give them all the answers.

Try those ones.

We thought we'd help them, but not enough to beat us in this leg.

I think Tim and Rod just gave Sid and Ash the answers, Viv.

Did they? Yeah.

That's life.

There's no point in having a bit of a tanty and losing it.

It's never over until it's over.

So we just had to refocus and find this bloody thing.

Cigarettes. That was the last one. Let's go.

Axe, the bullets...

Cigarettes...

Matches... fire pit.

Congratulations, guys. Yes.

Thank you. Thank you.

- Congratulations, guys. - Thank you so much.

Thank you. Thank you.

Yeah!

"Drive yourselves to Chisuma Primary School...

"And search the grounds for the Suggestion Box." Let's do it.

They got it. Sid and Ash got it.

Drive. Go. Go. Go.

We're coming. We're coming.

Being neck and neck with Nick and Femi in front of us,

Sid and Ash behind us, it was a bit stressful.

Back in the race.

Let's get 'em.

Today was all about showing the other teams

we can actually win this.

We're coming for you mate.

Ooh, this is tight!

As long as you go the speed limit, they can not overtake you, bro.

Behind us right now we've got Sid and Ash.

They've somehow caught up despite having a speed bump.

We're definitely in now, in with a chance to overtake these two.

Very conscious we do have a speed limit rule

and Ash is right up my tail.

Good girl. Keep the pressure on him 'cause he'll crumble.

I'm going to speed up and overtake. Yep. Yep.

Go, go, go, go. Flog it, flog it, flog it, flog it. Flog it. Flog it.

What's that?

That's Sid and Ash. What was that about?

Whoo-hoo!

I'm going to speed up. I'm going to overtake.

Go, go, go, go. Flog it. Flog it. Flog it. Flog it.

What's that?

Whoo-hoo!

That's Sid and Ash.

That's definitely not the speed limit.

We got instructed that we can't do that

otherwise we'd all be doing that.

Naturally me and Sid in life do tend to break rules.

I think rules are there to be broken.

They play such a dirty game.

Yeah. So turn at the flag.

Then it's all the way straight.

I'm just really angry that Sid and Ash overtook us and just sped off.

I mean, all other teams have to abide by the rules

and the speed limits.

They just better be penalised for it.

We've just got to switch on, like, far out.

Every team had already left and we were the last team there.

What are we missing?

Oh. Oh, babe.

How could we miss that?

I actually stepped on the ammunition. We heard the clink.

Axe, matches, fireplace,

ammunition, cigarette butts.

Congratulations, guys. Thank you, sir.

It was such a relief. I can not believe how much time we lost there.

Onwards and upwards. Let's go. Let's go to school.

There's the flag, the marker. Yes!

Search the grounds for a suggestion box.

Hello.

Oh, right there.

Detour - Build Up or Serve Up.

A detour is a choice between two tasks,

each with their own pros and cons.

Chisuma Primary School is desperately underfunded with over 400 students.

Our teams will come here to make school life that bit more fun

and choose one of two detours.

In Build Up,

teams must assemble two pieces of equipment for the school kids.

When complete, the principal will conduct a safety check

before handing over their next clue.

In Serve Up,

teams will cook a traditional Zimbabwean meal for the school kids.

They'll have to follow the complex recipe to the letter.

Once 10 kids have been served their meals, the clue is theirs.

- Who's excited. - Yeah!

Everyone's excited.

I reckon Build Up. Build Up? Yes.

Let's do it. Let's do it. Come on.

Hello.

They're so cute.

My mum is a school teacher and I was looking around

like, this is nothing like Mum's school back home.

"You must build two playground elements,

"a swing and a see-saw, a see-saw and monkey bars

"or a swing and monkey bars."

- I reckon swing... - Swing and see-saw.

Right. How do we do this?

I'm guessing these go in. I've got one, two... three.

Do you know how these things work? No. I don't know.

I've got it. I've got it. I've got it.

It was super surprising to see we were not actually last.

The cooking. Yep. The cooking. For sure.

Alright. Serve Up.

If anyone's gonna take it from us, they're gonna have to be better.

Can never beat you, brother.

Detour. Build Up or Serve Up.

Serve Up? Yeah. Let's do Build Up.

Let's cook. Let's cook. Let's go. Cook.

We're going to swap the lion and the baboon.

We knew that the four that we would be worried about

was the baboon, lion, eland and giraffe.

So we started doing trial and error, switching those ones around.

Check. 100% that's it. I'm telling you.

- Correct. - Yes.

Oh, thank you.

"Congratulations. You have won the Fast Forward

"and may go directly to Beau at your next pit stop in Impala village."

Let's do it. Yes.

It was an unbelievable feeling getting the Fast Forward.

We know our crap.

Oh, no. What was that?

Had we got that wrong we would have been back at the back of the pack.

So we were stoked to have finished it.

That was a hawk poo. Where did you get that?

It was an eagle.

What was that? It was an eagle.

Come on. If we didn't just win the Fast Forward,

I would be a bit more angry at you.

How is it, boys? Yeah. Good, mate.

Yeah. It's going good.

Yeah. Seems pretty simple.

Swing and monkey bars. Let's get to it.

The playground was the best thing for us

because it gave us the opportunity

to actually build some swings and some monkey bars

for all the children in the school.

We've got to make sure we build something A-1.

It's going to be very... but we can do it.

Maybe that can be the base.

I thought we chose cooking.

We're cooking a meal which is kind of like a porridgey-looking dish

and also a salsa that was made out of kale, tomato and onion.

"Mix five scoops of mealie meal

"with enough water to make a soupy mixture."

I'm a bit of a MasterChef at home.

OK. So, five scoops of mealie meal.

Hello. Mealie meal is not enough. Not enough.

Oh, here we go, chopping onions.

We've got this, Joe. We chop onions every weekend.

We both love cooking. This challenge is right up our alley.

I cook way more regularly than Joey. I do Sunday meal prep every week.

Joey is actually a decent cook.

He's just lazy. Yeah. Thanks, Viv.

I never expected a cooking challenge. Nuh.

Yeah. This is nice. I like this.

I'm never confident in this race.

Like, if you don't see teams, you just have no idea where they are.

We've just got to keep the foot down 100%,

hope that others might make some mistake.

Here we go. Here we go.

Let's get physical, babe. Yeah.

We're gonna go Build Up. Smash it out. Let's go.

Hey, kids.

We've built playground equipment before for our little bubba.

So we knew we could finish this Detour.

When we arrived to our challenge,

Femi and Nick are there, Tim and Rod are there.

We knew that we had a lot of work ahead of us

if we wanted to catch up to everyone else.

Just push it in, but that's alright.

Jasmin and Jerome arrived, like, everyone was here.

This needs to go in here, come on.

Very, very tense moment and very close race.

Now build that. Build that. Build that.

Looks like we're neck and neck with Femi and Nick.

How do you want it?

Let's pump this, brother.

Do that, so put it through that and put one of these through.

Yes.

That's it.

I actually was looking up at the little bolt things. I was like...

"I hope I tightened them enough."

Yes!

Ooh.

Powering through. Look at this.

I think we're pretty even. Yeah.

Ash's knife is chopping pretty quick.

Sid and Ash are right there.

They're the team we want out today and they keep coming up.

It was a huge comeback for us. We knew that we were closing in.

We couldn't waste any time.

It says, "Break up the lumps as you stir

"until you have a thick paste like a porridge."

Good?

No?

The meal that we were making had to be a certain consistency

and we got it wrong a couple of times.

You put too much in.

It's alright. The lumps will come out.

Too thick? Yeah.

OK. Put a bit of water.

Yeah. We're heading to the pit stop, trying to find the signs now.

We got the Fast Forward done.

So we're hoping that we come in at first here.

We're having a good day today 'cause I'm on.

I'm on as well actually.

They're the famous last words.

Just having some alignment issues.

Just make sure it's in and then you start tying them tight, bro.

Go. Go.

All good.

So, we might be edging our way towards the front here.

Fingers crossed, old mate inspects it and thinks we've done good.

Is that right? No.

Incorrect. Washers.

There's a problem. OK. OK.

Jeez, this isn't going to be as easy as we originally thought.

Our anxiety, stress and fear went from here to, like...

I don't understand. I honestly don't know how.

We were freaking out. We've never built anything in our lives.

Should we just take them off?

I feel like that's going to be such a time factor.

We need to step it up.

If we can't figure out how to build this playground,

we could be going home.

We've gotta build this equipment for these kids.

We've never built anything in our lives.

We had to put the pedal to the metal and just build these things

as quick as possible.

Hopefully the cooking challenge takes a long time.

Absolutely.

Like, this is taking a little longer than I thought.

Do you think this was the right detour, Ash?

At the detour, we decided to choose the cooking challenge.

We were cooking a porrigey-looking dish.

So we just gotta make sure there's no lumps.

She's already told me how to do it, Ash.

Should listen to her. She's the cook.

That alright? Good?

Can start serving now? Yep. OK.

The recipe said there shouldn't be any lumps.

I had a few concerns but in the end, we got there.

That looks delicious.

We got there in the end. It just had to be a big sloppy mess.

Hello.

For us today, cooking was a clear choice.

There you go. Thank you.

We had the whole community there,

sort of supporting us and cheering us on.

I just sort of forgot I was on the race for a little bit.

It was just nice to take it all in,

just appreciate the community there and just help them out.

Thank you. Thank you so much.

That was great. Thank you so much. Thank you.

"Drive yourself to my Mpala village

"and carry water the traditional way."

Teams will now make their way to Mpala Village,

which is the pit stop for this leg of the race.

The delivery of water to a village chief is a massive sign of respect,

and that's exactly what our teams will be doing.

Once they reach the village, teams must deliver two containers of water

to the Head Mpala the traditional way before they'll be checked in.

Warning, the last team to check in may be eliminated.

- It's really hot. Be careful. - You're welcome.

I wonder what it tastes like.

Hmm... Thank you.

Thank you very much. Thank you.

It tastes pretty good.

Let's go. Alright.

Thank you. Thank you so much.

Sid and Ash are right behind us.

Are you OK? Yep, yep. Grab that. Grab that.

There's still cars here, Ash.

Drive back to the main road.

This way? The other way.

No, reverse, reverse, reverse. I'll just turn around.

There was three cars there.

There was still a red car,

which could very potentially...

It could actually be Tim and Rod.

Leaving the cooking challenge,

we knew that we had Viv and Joey, at least, ahead of us.

And we have no idea where the other teams were at this point.

Yeah. Yep. Judge.

I'll just call my boys to check. Yeah.

Come on, boys.

We ended up completing the equipment

and we got the kids to run over and jump on and give it a trial.

I think the boys just completed theirs.

The kids are just testing it out.

Thank you so much! Thank you, thank you.

For us to be able to build that stuff for them

was the greatest feeling ever.

"Deliver two containers of water to the Head Mpala,

"waiting with Beau at your next pit stop!"

Let's go, let's go, let's go!

Can we get a check, please?

Congratulations, gentlemen. All good. Beautiful.

Felt good, helping the local village.

Thank you so much.

Especially being African and being able to have that connection,

it was really, really special for us.

Let's go.

Excuse me, sir. Can we have this one checked, when you're ready?

OK, we checked... Yeah.

Ah, this one's OK. Perfect.

Appreciate that. Thank you.

-Thanks for having us in your lovely school. -Thank you very much.

Thank you. Bye-bye.

We leave the school in last place but we can see Femi and Nick,

so we still had a bit of a chance.

You've got to stay positive.

You've got to keep working hard and it's all we can do now.

With Sid and Ash behind us, no room for errors.

Massive catch up.

They've shown that they're fierce competitors.

So we're going to Mpala Village to carry water to the community.

So let's keep the pace up.

This one literally is slow and steady will win the race.

Yep.

That's gonna be really hard for me. I know.

So just take it super slow. Yeah.

Look out for where you're going.

-I'm just gonna go the same pace as you. -Yeah.

We've got a lead. Do not panic.

Starting from the bottom. Now we're here.

"Place bucket..." I don't know if I can reach the bloody bucket.

No, you're right. Lock the car? Yep.

Oh, they're all the same? OK.

For the head? Yeah.

Sits like that? Cool.

Then water on top. Easy.

As soon as we got to the water challenge,

we saw Viv and Joey filling up their waters

and we knew that we had to get a wriggle on

to really overtake them in this.

Hey, how are we? Good.

Oh, God, this is gonna be heavy.

Oop, you hold the thing. I can't even reach that.

You hold this. Hold that?

Yeah. OK.

It's hard that we can't reach the top, Joe.

Is that OK, Viv? Be careful.

As soon as we started filling up our buckets,

we realised that Viv and Joey made a mistake,

going towards the wrong direction.

OK, so homestretch, so we can push through. You're doing well.

So we're going to the Head Mpala.

Yeah. OK, thank you.

Are we second? Oh, my God.

Phew, it's literally the comeback of the race.

Is this the right way?

I see Sid and Ash go that way, so...

Hang on, Viv, let's get back this way. Sorry.

I can't believe we come from the back of the pack to the front.

We picked the right detour today. Yeah.

I don't understand.

How would you feel if you were Tim and Rod?

I know. Giving us that clue and being behind us.

Now we're ahead of them.

I am kind of kicking myself now for helping Sid and Ash

'cause I think they've overtaken us now.

From this point on we've... We've just gotta run our own race.

Not help anyone else and hopefully get as far as we can.

You doing so well, Viv. It's bloody hard.

I know. You've got this. Come on, Viv.

When we arrived at the water carrying challenge,

we noticed given Viv and Joey and by the looks of things...

..they were struggling.

Slow and steady. Slow and steady.

You right? Yep.

You're doing so good, guys.

Tim and Rod went past us and I was just so deflated

because I just knew how hard this challenge would be for me.

Joey, stop.

We should have attempted the fast forward.

Imagine... Do you reckon keep going?

..living here. How different is this? Yeah, I know.

We might be driving back to Zambia.

Wasted a lot of time trying to find a pit stop.

That's crazy. There's Amazing Race flags up there.

Let's go, let's go, let's go.

Yes! Good boy.

Well done!

No way.

It is the boys.

Welcome to the village.

I'm the village Head Mpala.

Tommy, Tyler...

..you are the first team to check in.

Good boy. Yes.

Fast forward. We know it's a risk

so we're luck we nailed it. Yeah.

Yeah, worked out for us. Well, boys, incredible.

I'd say rest and recover but you guys are recovered.

Really, really good job. Bring it in.

This one is so important to be really, really focused.

We can't make any stupid mistakes right now, we have to get it right.

Because some are right up our back.

Oh, what another crazy day, babe.

It's not over yet.

We left the school in last place

but we could see that Femi and Nick

were in the car right in front of us.

Keep pushing hard. Yeah.

Till we get to the mat.

So at the intersection, you're gonna turn right

when you see the two Victori...

Welcome to Victoria Falls signs. Alright?

I see "Welcome to Victoria Falls..."

Was that not the road? You just drove past it!

Oh, my...

Femi, you said there was two on either side.

There was two on either side.

We ended up going the wrong way. Classic Femi and Nick.

You just drove past it.

How we were still in this race, don't know. I don't know.

We missed so many turns on a daily basis.

I think it's Jas and Jerome that's ahead of us right now.

Hope the other teams don't have very good balance.

Joey, I'm gonna spill it, if you walk any faster.

No, no, I'm gonna go at your pace. Alright.

OK. It's OK. It's alright.

It was super heavy, really physical challenge.

Push through, Viv. It's a mental game.

I was feeling really down, knowing that we would be quite slow

doing this to get to the pit stop.

You got this, Viv.

Thank you.

Don't spill it, babe.

How are you, baby? I'm...

..coming.

Carrying those buckets

was one of the hardest things I've done this leg.

Just put my shoulders up and it was just burning, it was crazy.

Oh, yes, I can see a flag! See a flag. See a flag.

Big one? Yeah, big one. Big one.

Going up to that final hill to the village was a bit of a struggle.

We could feel the fatigue starting in both of our arms.

Oh, my God.

However, knowing that we were in the top pack

gave us extra energy to push through.

Yeah, they got the buckets on their head

and it looks like it is Sid and Ash.

What a massive effort.

Welcome to this village

in Zimbabwe.

Sid and Ash...

..you are... the second team to arrive.

Oh, my God. Yes.

I think today is actually the most fun that we've had.

It was an amazing leg for us. It was a huge comeback.

However...

..you will incur a one-hour penalty for speeding.

Go, go, go, go. Flog it, flog it, flog it. Flog it, flog it.

What's that? That's Sid and Ash.

You know the rules.

So take your buckets carefully and take a seat, please.

Knew that was gonna happen. Not happy with it, hey.

Kind of a surreal moment

because we'd had such a great comeback during the day

and come second from last.

This can't be happening.

- We've got this, mate. - Yep.

Just like a catwalk, mate. Victoria's Secret baby.

Yes!

One foot in front of the next, like we were at Fashion Week.

Strut, strut, strut.

Slow and steady, nice fierce strut. We had it in the bag.

Thanks, mate.

Here's the newlyweds. What a honeymoon, huh?

Little jump.

Welcome to our village in Zimbabwe.

Thank you. Thank you so much.

We were so confused

'cause Sid and Ash were sitting on the seats next to the pit stop

and we didn't know why.

Tim and Rod, you are...

..the second team to check in.

Whoo! The second team?

How does that happen? What?!

Number two! Number two!

Number one, we're coming for ya! Yes! Next leg.

You're doing really well, Viv.

This is so hard. I know, Viv. Be positive.

I know. I know, Joe.

I found it hard on myself, so I couldn't even imagine

how much stress or pain Viv was going through.

Hang in there. Hang in there.

I couldn't help her in any other way but support her

and just try our best.

Oh, my God.

It just sucks knowing that she's in pain and I just can't help her.

I know. I know. I know Viv.

Don't tippy-toe. Just let me try to adjust it on your head.

There's so much weight. You got it?

I'm sorry.

No. No. No. Don't be sorry.

I can't do it. You can. You can. You can, Viv.

We're so close. I can't do it, Joe.

You can. You can. I can't do it.

I can't. You can't? What do you want to do?

I was just really frustrated that, like, I was probably the reason why

we were going to go home.

I can't do it.

You can. You can. You can, Viv.

You're so close. I can't do it, Joe.

You can. You can. You can. I can't do it.

I can't. You can't? What do you want to do?

OK. Rest it. Rest it. Hang on.

Oh, my God. Hold it.

It's OK.

I was just really frustrated

that, like, I was probably the reason why we were going to go home.

You pushed yourself more than you ever could have, alright?

I'm so proud of you. OK.

We're not giving up. We're not quitters.

It's not over until we hit the mat, we see Beau

and we drop off our buckets.

There is no way we're giving up today.

We know that Femi and Nick are behind us,

so we're absolutely convinced that we're second last.

Stay strong, babe. Be careful walking down, OK?

Yep.

You really appreciate that back home we just have a simple tap

that we can just get fresh water from, you know,

not have to carry big bottles of water on our heads

just to take it back to home.

So a bit of an eye opener.

Don't spill it.

Joey... Huh?

Sorry. I need to reposition. OK.

My God, who is that?

As we were walking we saw Viv and Joey having a break.

We just passed them on their right.

We were so relieved that we were just in front of them.

Just stay strong, eh? Yeah.

I could see teams going past and there was nothing I could do.

Watch your head.

It's a bullshit way to go out.

Don't worry about it, OK?

It's the deadly duo, Jasmin and Jerome.

Wow.

I have so much respect for the ladies.

They do this every day.

Welcome to our village in Zimbabwe.

Thank you so much, sir.

Jasmin, Jerome, you are...

..third team to check in. No way. Wow.

We were shocked.

Like, we weren't sure what actually happened for us to finish third.

At one point we thought we were dead last,

so to still be here we're just super blessed and relieved.

Sitting there and watching the other teams come in

was obviously a bit devastating for us.

We'd raced so hard today and we felt like we deserved that second place.

Come on, Nick. Almost there, bro. Almost there.

Let's go. Come on. A few more steps, buddy.

Is that the boys, Joe? Viv, don't worry about them.

I saw Femi and Nick go past us and they were just powering along.

This is so shit, like, this is how we *** go out.

It's fine, Viv. Viv, it's alright.

Who do you reckon is going to?

15 minutes?

10, 15, yeah.

Come on, Femi, we're almost there.

Femi, Nick...

..you are...

..the fourth team to check in.

What? What?

The only hope that we had

was that Viv and Joey were really struggling with this challenge

because of their size.

We need the wind to pick up, hey?

- So close, Viv. Are you OK? - No.

Oh, Joey. Watch your step.

OK.

You see it right there? Yep. Yep. Yep.

It's just there, yeah?

I think they think they're last, too, so maybe they've just given up.

Joey. Stop, stop, stop. Stop? OK.

Sorry, Joe. Don't be sorry.

There's nothing to be sorry about, Viv.

Just really grateful to have Joey here. He was so supportive.

We're so close, right? Mm-hm.

She's given it 500% I'm super proud of her.

There's nothing else that you could have done.

Got it? Yeah.

OK. Nice and slow.

Ash and I kept hoping for time to pass a little faster, but it wasn't.

Not good. Not good.

How do you feel, Ash?

Like I might be going home.

I'm so proud of you, Viv.

Wow. Look at this, chief. Oh, my God.

Gently put your buckets... Gently put your buckets here, guys.

Welcome to our village in Zimbabwe. Thank you, so much. Thank you, sir.

How are you guys feeling?

Like, of all things on the race, this was the hardest one.

I'm so proud of her.

It doesn't matter what happens now, like, we made it to the mat,

went the whole way.

I wouldn't have done this race with anyone else

and, seriously, she exceeded all expectations today.

She pushed through. I'm so proud of her.

He was really supportive.

Like, any time I needed to stop he'd stop, so...

Viv, Joey...

..you're the fifth team to check in.

What? Are we still in the Race?

You guys are still in.

This race has been really hard. Well done.

Leg 8 has been the hardest leg for us

but I'd say it's also been our favourite.

That bucket, man. It's bigger than you.

I know. Bloody hell.

We challenged ourselves both mentally and physically today

and this is going to be a leg that we're never going to forget.

Alright. Are you ready to go home? Shh.

Sid and Ash, please return to the mat, guys.

Sid, Ash...

..you are the last team to check in.

And you are eliminated.

You will not continue racing.

It's time to go. It was good until the last leg.

We got to experience some amazing places all around the world.

No. No. They're nuns.

I'm going to hell after this.

I think we're leaving the Race stronger than ever.

And we managed to go a month without checking our Instagrams

so that's not bad at all.

Eliminated. Spewing.

Next time on The Amazing Race Australia,

as the final five hit Malawi... Welcome to Africa.

Oh, wow.

..all bets are off.

You must vote a team to U-turn.

Ooh. That's a shocker.

But against the odds...

Anything can happen in this race. We're not going home.

We need an insane miracle.

..which team will pull off...

We just smashed through it.

..the biggest comeback...

Jasmin and Jerome finished. ..in amazing Race history.

Jerome would do this with this eyes shut.

If they're not thinking twice about us, definitely should be.

They're right on us. I can see them, Jasmin.
