I am a veteran paranormal investigator

with over a decade of experience.

On March 11th, 2017, I came across a case

unlike any I had ever encountered before.

It all started during the filming

of another documentary
called "MAN vs PARANORMAL,"

building for three days

with no communication

I heard like a woman's

As I turned around, something
yanked my fucking arm

almost out of my fucking socket.

All I can say is that I've
never, ever in my life

felt something that forceful.

I literally felt like the tips of my-

when people are being physically hurt

to where they're breaking bones.

There's been a lot of reports

of, like, noises from back there.

- And also, something
was caught on footage

of this weird thing crawling in the back.

I don't think anything
was ever found after that.

- Chickens are a very
big sacrificial animal

in multiple cultures and also satanism.

So, I'm wondering-

- If that's what that is meant for,

if that was meant for a sacrifice,

those chicken bones that were in the back.

- I really wish you wouldn't
have brought that part up.

at it's just animal bones,

were oddly configured,
'cause I tell the workers,

it's just an animal
drug in there years ago.

were not the only ritualistic items

found in the crawl space.

They also found a bag of human hair,

a necklace and pottery.

Personal items like the hair and necklace

are commonly used in
witchcraft and other rituals.

Amongst these items, they
found a pair of shorts

that appears to have bloodstains,

evoking more questions.

- Okay, up here is the bathroom

that I was working 11 years ago on.

- And this is the first time
I might have seen something.

This, there was a big fire in here.

Took the whole floor out and this wall.

I was doing this edged tile right here.

the floodlight, and it had gotten dark.

I lost track of time.

And I just, out of the corner of my eye,

thought my brother had come in.

up the stairs, and went into that room.

But it was pitch black.

and there's some residual light,

moonlight, streetlight coming through.

- And it's just a figure.

the footsteps, 'cause the radio's blaring.

So I thought, "Why would
he go into the dark room?"

So seconds later I got
up, walked in there,

he wasn't there.

- Hmm.
- That's when

I went out the window.

- 'Cause it was that.

- Yeah, instead of going down the stairs.

Yeah, I kinda backed into there,

grabbed the extension cord,

worked my way out to the window

and pulled the cord to kill the light.

And I just went out.

- Hmm.

up all communication,

my cellphone, my personal cellphone,

and my car keys to get out of here.

capture something just like this,

and now it was caught on camera.

What makes this footage more incredible

is that 21 hours before this capture,

you see me close the door,

hear the door latch shut,

and lock the door,

which rules out the possibility of wind,

it being the cause of the door opening.

After reviewing the static
camera footage in the kitchen,

that was the last time I touched the door

before it opened up on its own.

that is gonna be completely disguised.

He doesn't wanna reveal himself,

but he has some information
about the Monroe House

that I really need to know
for my investigation here.

What exactly have you
heard about this location?

Like, I heard something involving bones.

The long bones, is what I heard.

Everybody knows about the small bones,

a lot of them.

But there's also some long
bones in the crawl space,

and they're not animal bones.

And why they're there, I don't know.

But they're definitely there.

- So the long bones that were found here,

do you think that
correlates with the cemetery

that used to be in this area?

This is the information I got in the past.

- [Informant] I believe the stories

are that they were used in rituals,

but what I've seen and what I've heard

from other people that
are more experts on that,

that they were not.

They looked to be out of the cemetery

and it looks like they were
dug out of the basement

by accident.

- Who are these experts
that you're talking about?

- [Informant] I can say this much.

They are the experts in that field.

- They know exactly

what they are.

And as far as I know,
there's no crime committed.

It's just an accidental body
dug out of an unmarked grave,

which there may be a few on this property.

from multiple sources.

Heart City Paranormal captured a baby cry

on their voice recorder
left near the kitchen

when they were upstairs.

No baby was in the house at the time.

What is interesting about this capture

is that back on August 2nd, 2001,

a baby did pass away
in the house from SIDS,

sudden infant death syndrome.

We believe this was a
residual manifestation

or the entity there could
be mimicking the baby

because of its history.

Demonic hauntings are known
for mimicking kids, women,

or someone that you know,
just to manipulate you.

This is intriguing because investigators

have reported emotions
of rage without cause

while in the Monroe House.

We believe Madi could be
experiencing oppression

for moments of past abuse.

On September 7th, 2019,

my friends from Interface Death

had one of their investigators,
Darrick Schreiner,

have a possible attack by
the entity in the house.

Simultaneously, Joe Vitale
and another individual

reported a noticeable
rise in room temperature,

while Justin Brown's Rode shotgun
mic and MagCheck-95 sensor

was detecting anomalous EMF
fields on his RVPR EVP setup.

The MagCheck-95 sensor records
audio with EMF frequencies,

and his Rode shotgun mic

is very susceptible to EMF interference.

This occurs right before and
during Darrick's experience.

It was like somebody
punched me in the chest.

That type of chest pain.

Darrick, he confirmed to me

he has never experienced
any prior medical issues

with chest pains, both
before and after this event.

While researching the history of deaths

that may have occurred in this
house, we found five deaths.

Adding to the baby's death in 2001,

two more have died on the property.

William R. Jones passed away

from acute dilation of the heart in 1929.

And Harry B. Myers, whose cause of death

was an unknown illness, in 1951.

The fourth death was Sidney Faulkner,

who died away from the property
in a car accident in 1940.

Emma J. Meyers, who also
lived in the Monroe House,

died by a heart attack

in the Blackford County Hospital in 1967.

While researching the Monroe House,

I befriended Mike Ditty Jr.,

the initial investigator of the property.

During a phone call, he revealed to me

that he had direct contact

with the man who conducted
rituals in the house.

Unfortunately, this person did
not want to be interviewed,

so we turned to Mike for more insight

regarding the information that
was told to him personally.

- I personally got ahold of the individual

who buried the stick
figures in the crawl space.

The purpose of the stick figures

were, in his life, at this
period and point in time

when he lived in the
Monroe House upstairs,

he was having a lot of bad issues

a lot of personal issues,

family members being mean to him,

just a lot of bad things
happening in his life.

And as a hobby, he got into
what they call black art,

black magic, satanic type rituals.

As he went on with it, he
started doing more and more

what we call demonic summoning.

He originally intended
to bring these demons

to do harm to the people
who did harm to him.

Now, what happened was, once
he summoned these demons,

according to what he said
to me, it backfired on him

and it went against him and
the people that lived here,

and the other people that lived here.

And it got to the point where
it was so bad it scared him

and he didn't know how
to control it no more.

So what he did was he bound
sticks and, like, wire

and made his own stick figures,

kind of like what you'd see
like in the "Blair Witch" movie,

but it's his own version.

And he buried one, for
each corner of the house,

he buried a small one

and then he buried a big one
in the middle of the house.

And each small one
represented each small demon

that he had summoned.

And the big one was the
major demonic entity

he called Beelzebub.

Michelle Belanger's book

named "The Dictionary of
Demons: Names of the Damned,"

the passage in Matthew
12:24 describes Beelzebub

as the Prince of Demons,

and this cinches Beelzebub's place

in the infernal hierarchy.

In "The Sacred Magic of
Abra-Melin the Mage,"

Beelzebub is said to have the power

to transform men into animals

(voice screaming and growling)

and animals into men.

He is a sower of discord

and helps to cast curses and cause harm.

He is named as one of
the eight sub princes

who rule over all other demons.

In an 1821 work by French
Charles Berbiguier,

Beelzebub supplants Satan
as the ruler of Hell.

He is given the very colorful title

of Supreme Chief of the Infernal Empire

in the 1863 edition of Collin de Plancy

and "Dictionnaire Infernal."

The demon Beelzebub is depicted
directly as the infernal fly

with a skull and crossbones
motif on its wings.

The significance of these rituals

didn't fully manifest
until October 20th, 2018,

when this pivotal phone
call changed everything.

we invited Deb Schneider
back to the Monroe House

after her traumatic experience

involving a possible demonic
possession during 2018.

She is the one that was in distress

during the phone call
audio I presented earlier.

She agreed to share her experience

she had at the Monroe House.

So Deb, I've heard from the phone call

that Mike gave me on the day in 2018

when you had a personal
experience at this location.

Do you want to go in depth

with what you've experienced that day?

- It was just a normal investigation

and we were going into the blue room

and something, some entity jumped me

is how I can explain it.

And it felt like it had
wrapped itself around my back

and it was holding on.

I have a lot of memory
loss from some of it.

I remember not being able to move my feet

and I kept feeling like
I was screaming for Scott

but I couldn't get it
to come out of my mouth.

And then I remember Scott
dragging me out of the room

and outside and getting ill.

I threw up.

I remember leaving the property,
going to the gas station

and I just kept having this
draw that I had to get back.

I mean, they wouldn't
let me have my car keys.

I mean, they wouldn't let me do anything.

They just took me off the property

and when I did come back,

they wouldn't allow me in the house

because the house started vibrating

when I stepped back on the property.

When they did leave

and take me off the property,

I had three scratches on my back.

As we were leaving the...

I mean, we were in the
alley, is when it happened.

So I mean, it was...

We get into the street

and all of a sudden my back was on fire

and they're like turning
me to the street light

and trying to lift my shirt to see

and it just started whelping up.

any of the other investigators
or anything like that?

- Nothing. Nothing.

So at what point did you black out

when it comes to memory wise?

- Well, we had walked
in the room and that-

- The blue room.

and we hadn't smelled it before.

And I remember saying
something to Melissa,

like, "Melissa."

And I tried to say her
name the second time

and I remember Melissa and Mike Ditty

telling it to get back.

And then it was just nothing.

head like I couldn't get out.

I mean, I couldn't move.

It was like a sleep paralysis standing.

So it was pretty traumatic, you know?

Makes my heart race just talking about it.

Took me about a year and a half

before I even listened to the EVP.

I quit doing all my mediumship.

I quit doing all my paranormal stuff.

I started going to a spiritual church

with a lot of like-minded people

and found peace of what happened,

if there's finding peace,

but accepting that it happened.

determined to come back.

I'm like, after a while away

and trying to analyze what happened,

and I came back and faced my fears.

evil has been done here

the spirit's telling us

Our main question which
prompted this investigation

was what is the source of
the paranormal activity here?

Using the evidence in question

collected by the Paranormal
Research Unit and Eric Connor,

we came to the conclusion

that the rituals performed
at the Monroe House

are most likely connected
to the paranormal activity

that has been witnessed here.

Our countless days of studying
the history of the house

combined with the interviews we conducted,

have helped us better understand
what makes this house tick.

However, we still had lingering questions

regarding the black magic
that was performed here.

To provide us with more insight,

we contacted author and a cult
expert, Michelle Belanger.

Hello, Michelle.

Thank you for taking some
time to speak with us.

This is something I've been looking for

is a individual that is an
expert in the occult field

and you're actually the first
person that came to mind.

Can you let everyone know

what your credentials are in the occult?

- Okay, so I have a degree in
comparative religious studies

with a concentration in
psychology of religion.

I am one of the only,
if not the only person

who's active in the paranormal currently

who took demonology
from Jesuits in college

as an academic course.

And I have been writing and
researching paranormal occult,

ceremonial magic, demonology, angelology

for going on 30 years now.

- Yeah, so you definitely
have the credentials

and what we're looking for.

What was your take when you stepped foot

into the Monroe House yourself?

What did you feel there exactly,

if you're going by just memory?

- I've been there three times
with three different crews.

Every time the place has
a very heavy atmosphere.

Oppressive, is the best
way I would describe it.

There is something that almost
like pushes down on you,

especially in some of the upstairs rooms.

The piece of land that it is on,

where it is situated,

has this almost sort of
striating sense of, I don't know,

connecting roots of darkness.

I think I described it like that

in the first second walkthrough I did.

There's just a sense of something

that is deep and tangled,

shadowy, sentient and uncomfortable.

- So you're very aware of all the rituals

that took place there,

at least some of them.

Actually, I have something
I wanna send to you.

This is something that I
found in the crawl space

before it was closed up

and I want your take on this and-

- Yeah 'cause I remember
the first time I was there

was when they had unearthed bones

that they had yet to confirm were human.

It is my understanding that after that,

they did confirm that
they were human bones,

and a necklace that was curiously plated

with some hair in a way
that seemed intentional

rather than just tangled.

And there were a couple of other things

to suggest that this had been part of,

if not a formal ritual,

at least sort of homegrown conjure.

- Yeah, it's definitely interesting.

The conjuring is what I would
say, probably the source

of why it's maybe so
active there, I would say.

But here, this is what we
found in the crawl space.

This has not been released
to the public yet.

- Oh, heck.

Alright.

Well, that's got a folk
horror vibe to it, huh?

- Yes, I literally found
it in the crawl space

next to the pillar and under the house

and it was very intriguing.

I first spotted that
and I was like, "Okay,

that has a ritualistic vibe to it,

literally straight out of
'The Blair Witch' almost."

So what is your take on this
specific item that was found?

- Okay, so this...

First of all, with the necklace,
there was some question

about whether the hair was accidental.

This is very clearly intentionally shaped.

Someone took these twigs and branches

and bent them into a human shape.

So that shows intent.

Secreting it under the crawl space

is usually, like you hide
things, you bury things,

you drop them down wells
or you put them in tombs.

It's a way of taking a magical intention

and passing it along to cathartic powers,

to the powers of the underworld,

to convey it to spirits
that could take that magic,

that intention and then work
it, whatever your purpose is.

To create a human shaped effigy in magic,

you are typically targeting a person.

It may be people in general,

but usually it's a
specific person in mind.

- And what happens if someone
like myself discovered it

and took it out of the building?

- At the very least, it
interferes with the spell,

whatever the intention is.

If you were to to burn it

or if you were to deconstruct it,

by the nature of this sort of magic,

that would be unwinding the
power, releasing the power.

In general, you are
interfering with the spell.

But the fact that it
is a human shaped item,

handcrafted, and then
hidden in a dark place

suggests gainful magic.

- What I found very interesting

is that earlier you mentioned

the stick figure thing that was found

most likely was something
that didn't want to,

should not be leaving
or it unbinds the spell

or whatever it is.

It's interesting that you mention that

because literally when I'm
crawling out of the crawl space

with that stick figure in my hand,

we get a DVP saying, "Stay in that hole."

- Ooh, okay.
- Yeah.

- Somebody didn't want
you taking that out.

- Yeah, it was very intriguing.

Actually, DeWaine is the only
one that heard it at the time.

He heard something being said

and he just didn't hear what
it said until after review,

I listened back and it was
a whispery, creepy voice

saying, "Stay in that hole."

- [Entity] Stay in that hole.

- [DeWaine] What the hell was that?

- What do you think,

like something attached to
that kind of item like that,

that's actually able
to say something to us

in the moment, what
kind of entity you think

would be attached to something
like the stick figure?

- When you do magic,
depending on the system,

and multiple systems do this,

it is not uncommon to call upon,

invite or even compel spirits
to be part of that magic,

to either tie them to the object

or tie them to the intent
of the spell itself.

There's multiple examples of this

and enough examples that even somebody

who is throwing together
their own homegrown spell

may be inspired to try to call
up a spirit of the location,

something that is identified as a demon,

an astrological spirit,

a whole number of different
things, an ancestor,

and basically make the object as a focus

that serves as an anchor for
that spirit to be the being

that actually carries out
the purpose of the spell.

Now that's not how every spell works,

but it is definitely a
way in which some do.

So, the question for me would be,

the person who put this together,

what did they call up to
carry out their magic?

When I was first there
with "Paranormal Lockdown"

and Katrina Weidman and Nick Groff,

someone had raised the name of
a very specific occult group

known for being a left-hand
path occult group.

We weren't allowed to say it on camera.

I'm gonna just err on the
side of not bringing it up

because they are well established.

They've been around since the '70s.

And there was some concern

that a person who was
involved in that group

was behind this magic.

- [Matt] The left-hand path
is a branch of esoteric

and mystical traditions that
emphasize individualism,

self-deification, impersonal
empowerment, breaking taboos

and exploring the darker
aspects of spirituality.

It is associated with
traditions such as luciferian,

satanism, chaos magic,
and some forms of Thelema,

often challenging conventional
morality in social norms

in pursuit of enlightenment and mastery.

The left-hand path also
had a big influence

on Anton LaVey founding
the church of Satan

and inspired his teachings
in "The Satanic Bible."

- They turned him up.

They wanted me to, like, outline
everything about this group

and then they cut all of it out

because they, like, went digging around.

They're like, "Oh, we don't really

feel like messing around with that."

- So they're like, "We're going to redact

basically those individuals

or that individual and that group."

Well, we're different

so we don't mind putting that out there.

- But the allegations were definitely

that there was at least one individual

who had involvement in a left-hand path,

magical tradition,

practiced some form of
ceremonial or ritual magic

or at least experimented
with it during his residency

when he lived upstairs
at the Monroe House,

and may have been tied to
this whole, like, weird sense

of kind of a negative male figure

and a woman who is being bullied.

- Interesting.

Outta curiosity, do you think

that there's anything through the rituals

or anything else that has been done there

since the building's been opened,

do you think that there's
anything demonic there?

- Full disclosure, my
definition of demonic

is much more narrow than most
people in the paranormal,

partly because of my
background in Demonology.

So I will state that for many people,

a negative entity that
seems like it is not human

or was never human,
that is dark or violent,

most people will classify
that as a demon as a default.

And if that is the criteria

that there is something non-human there

that seems violent or at least malevolent,

there's something like that

definitely tied to that property.

There's something that
doesn't seem like it's human,

it does have a dark feel to it

and it can have a negative
effect on the people it targets.

- The bones that were found,

you said that was confirmed to be human,

was this confirmed by the
"Paranormal Lockdown" crew?

- That is what I was told after the fact

that there were some bones
that were confirmed to be human

and they had the sheriff out

to, like, kind of assess whether or not

that was something that
was seriously a problem.

But I would also, like, try to track down

a verification for that

because just, like, one
person from the crew

mentioning it to me

doesn't necessarily
fill me with confidence

that it was, like, confirmed
in a super public way.

that needed answering

had to do with the origin of the bones

found in the crawl space.

Were they truly human remains?

According to Michelle and Eddie,

the bones had previously
been identified as human.

However, because we hold
the Paranormal Research Unit

to a high standard of being an authentic

and trustworthy paranormal team,

we decided to have the bones
examined by another expert.

This became a challenge,
since the owner, Eddie,

wanted the bones to remain undisturbed,

therefore we had to rely
on photographs of the bones

to be analyzed.

So I scheduled an interview

with Richard and Christy Malan-Cerreto

who are archeologists and anthropologists

at Analytic Archeology LLC;

as well as anthropologist, Mandy Mazzei.

So right now I'm here
with three anthropologists

that are gonna go over the photos

of the possible human
remains or animal bones.

We want to verify this

and uncover some of the
mystery of the Monroe house

and these are the
individuals that are perfect

to hopefully shed some
light on this location.

from an animal, right?

This looks like it's broken
more than anything else.

But it is definitely a humerus.

Looks like it's been in
the ground for a while

because of the coloration.

- So your professional opinion
is that it is a fibula.

- This is.

- The shape

does look, for the humerus,

the shape does look more human

than it does anything I've seen animal.

The same thing with the fibula,

and especially as we get to the top here.

- Yeah, those groups right there.

leaned them more towards
the bones being human.

and became a seven-year
long project of mine.

I made it my personal mission

to uncover the mysteries
of the Monroe House.

The fascination of this place

draws in investigators like us,

leaving us with appreciation and awe.

Just as I did, Mike and Joe

became personally invested
in the house for years.

By working together,

we were able to unearth the stick figure,

black magic relics and bones.

We captured a possible disembodied voice.
